1. المر ۚ تِلْكَ آيَاتُ الْكِتَابِ ۗ وَالَّذِي أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ الْحَقُّ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
‘Alif-Lām-Mīm-Rā Tilka ‘Āyātu Al-Kitābi Wa Al-Ladhī ‘Unzila ‘Ilayka Min Rabbika Al-Ĥaqqu Wa Lakinna ‘Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Yu’uminūna
13:1 Alif Laam Mim Ra. These are the Verses of the Book. And that which/ what has been revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ from your Lord is the truth, but most of the mankind/people do not believe.
1. Alif-Laaam-Meeem-Raa; tilka Aayaatul Kitaab; wallazee unzila ilaika mir Rabbikal haqqu wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa yu’minoon
2. اللَّهُ الَّذِي رَفَعَ السَّمَاوَاتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا ۖ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ يَجْرِي لِأَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى ۚ يُدَبِّرُ الْأَمْرَ يُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ بِلِقَاءِ رَبِّكُمْ تُوقِنُونَ
Al-Lahu Al-Ladhī Rafa`a As-Samāwāti Bighayri `Amadin Tarawnahā Thumma Astawá `Alá Al-`Arshi Wa Sakhkhara Ash-Shamsa Wa Al-Qamara Kullun Yajrī Li’jalin Musammáan Yudabbiru Al-‘Amra Yufaşşilu Al-‘Āyāti La`allakum Biliqā’i Rabbikum Tūqinūna
13:2 Allah is the One Who has raised the heavens without pillars that you can see, then He established on the Throne and subjected the sun and the moon each running/orbiting for an appointed term, He arranges/ conducts the whole matter/affair; He details/ explains the Signs so that you may be certain in the meeting with your Lord.
He makes the Signs clear so that you may be certain in the meeting with your Lord.
2. Allaahul lazee raf’as samaawaati bighairi ‘amadin tarawnahaa summas tawaa ‘alal ‘Arshi wa sakhkharash shamsa walqamara kulluny yajree li ajalim musammaa; yudabbirul amra yufassilil Aayaati la’allakum biliqaaa’i Rabbikum tooqinoon
3. وَهُوَ الَّذِي مَدَّ الْأَرْضَ وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنْهَارًا ۖ وَمِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ جَعَلَ فِيهَا زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ ۖ يُغْشِي اللَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Madda Al-‘Arđa Wa Ja`ala Fīhā Rawāsiya Wa ‘Anhārāan Wa Min Kulli Ath-Thamarāti Ja`ala Fīhā Zawjayni Athnayni Yughshī Al-Layla An-Nahāra ‘Inna Fī Dhālika La’āyātin Liqawmin Yatafakkarūna
13:3 And He is the One Who spread out the earth, and placed firm mountains and rivers in it, and from all of the fruits He made two pairs in it. He covers the night with the day. Indeed, in that surely are Signs for a people who ponder/think/ reflect.
3. Wa Huwal lazee maddal arda wa ja’ala feehaa rawaasiya wa anhaaraa; wa min kullis samaraati ja’ala feehaa zawjainis yaini Yughshil lailan nahaar; inna fee zaalika la aayaatil liqawminy yatafakkaroon
“Reflect” implies a deliberate and thoughtful process of thinking back on something, often in order to gain insight or learn from past experiences. It can also refer to the act of carefully considering or examining something before making a decision or taking action.
4. وَفِي الْأَرْضِ قِطَعٌ مُتَجَاوِرَاتٌ وَجَنَّاتٌ مِنْ أَعْنَابٍ وَزَرْعٌ وَنَخِيلٌ صِنْوَانٌ وَغَيْرُ صِنْوَانٍ يُسْقَىٰ بِمَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَنُفَضِّلُ بَعْضَهَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فِي الْأُكُلِ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْقِلُونَ
Wa Fī Al-‘Arđi Qiţa`un Mutajāwirātun Wa Jannātun Min ‘A`nābin Wa Zar`un Wa Nakhīlun Şinwānun Wa Ghayru Şinwānin Yusqá Bimā’in Wāĥidin Wa Nufađđilu Ba`đahā `Alá Ba`đin Fī Al-‘Ukuli ‘Inna Fī Dhālika La’āyātin Liqawmin Ya`qilūna
13:4 And in the earth are neighboring tracts ˹of land˺, and gardens of grapevines and crops and date-palms trees from a single root and trees not from a single root, watered/irrigated with one water; but/yet We cause to exceed some of them over others in the fruit. Indeed, in that surely are Signs for a people who understand use reason.
4. Wa fil ardi qita’um muta jaawiraatunw wa jannaatum min a’naabinw wa zar’unw wa nakheelun sinwaanunw wa ghairu sinwaaniny yusqaa bimaaa’inw waahid; wa nufaddilu ba’dahaa ‘alaa ba’din fil-ukul; inna fee zaalika la aayaatil liqawminy ya’qiloon
5. وَإِنْ تَعْجَبْ فَعَجَبٌ قَوْلُهُمْ أَإِذَا كُنَّا تُرَابًا أَإِنَّا لَفِي خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ ۗ أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ الْأَغْلَالُ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
Wa ‘In Ta`jab Fa`ajabun Qawluhum ‘A’idhā Kunnā Turābāan ‘A’innā Lafī Khalqin Jadīdin ‘Ūlā’ika Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Birabbihim Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Al-‘Aghlālu Fī ‘A`nāqihim Wa ‘Ūlā’ika ‘Aşĥābu An-Nāri Hum Fīhā Khālidūna
13:5 And if you are amazed/ surprised, then astonishing/ surprising is their saying, “When we are ˹reduced to˺ dust, will we indeed/really be ˹raised˺ as a creation new?” Those are the ones who disbelieved in their Lord, and those will have the iron chains/ shackles in their necks, those are the companions of the Fire, they will stay forever in it.
5. Wa in ta’jab fa’ajabun qawluhum ‘a-izaa kunna turaaban ‘a-inna lafee khalqin jadeed; ulaaa ‘ikal lazeena kafaroo bi Rabbihim wa ulaaa’ikal aghlaalu feee a’naaqihim wa ulaaa’ika Ashaabun Naari hum feehaa khaalidoon
6. وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ الْحَسَنَةِ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمُ الْمَثُلَاتُ ۗ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٍ لِلنَّاسِ عَلَىٰ ظُلْمِهِمْ ۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَشَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ
Wa Yasta`jilūnaka Bis-Sayyi’ati Qabla Al-Ĥasanati Wa Qad Khalat Min Qablihimu Al-Mathulātu Wa ‘Inna Rabbaka Ladhū Maghfiratin Lilnnāsi `Alá Žulmihim Wa ‘Inna Rabbaka Lashadīdu Al-`Iqābi
13:6 And they ask you ˹O Prophet˺ to hasten the evil before the good and verily similar ˹punishments˺ has ˹already˺ occurred from before them. And indeed, your Lord is Full of Forgiveness for mankind/ people, for/ despite their wrongdoing, and indeed, your Lord is severe in the penalty.
6. Wa yasta’jiloonaka bis saiyi’ati qablal hasanati wa qad khalat min qablihimul masulaat; wa inna Rabbaka lazoo maghfiratil linnaasi ‘alaa zulmihim wa inna Rabbaka lashadeedul ‘iqaab
7. وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْلَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ ۗ إِنَّمَا أَنْتَ مُنْذِرٌ ۖ وَلِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ هَادٍ
Wa Yaqūlu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lawlā ‘Unzila `Alayhi ‘Āyatun Min Rabbihi ‘Innamā ‘Anta Mundhirun Wa Likulli Qawmin Hādin
13:7 And those who disbelieved say, “Why has a sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?” You ˹O Prophet˺ are only a warner, and for every people is/has a guide.
7. Wa yaqoolul lazeena kafaroo law laaa unzila ‘alaihi Aayatum mir Rabbih; innamaaa anta munzirunw wa likulli qawmin haad (section 1)
8. اللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَحْمِلُ كُلُّ أُنْثَىٰ وَمَا تَغِيضُ الْأَرْحَامُ وَمَا تَزْدَادُ ۖ وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ عِنْدَهُ بِمِقْدَارٍ
Al-Lahu Ya`lamu Mā Taĥmilu Kullu ‘Unthá Wa Mā Taghīđu Al-‘Arĥāmu Wa Mā Tazdādu Wa Kullu Shay’in `Indahu Bimiqdārin
13:8 Allah knows what every female carries, and what wombs fall short, and what they exceed. And every thing is in due proportion with Him.

8. Allaahu ya’lamu maa tahmilu kullu unsaa wa maa tagheedul arhaamu wa maa tazdaad, wa kullu shai’in ‘indahoo bimiqdaar
9. عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ الْكَبِيرُ الْمُتَعَالِ
`Ālimu Al-Ghaybi Wa Ash-Shahādati Al-Kabīru Al-Muta`ālī
13:9 ˹He is the˺ knower of the unseen and the seen, the Most/All Great, the Most High.
9. ‘Aalimul Ghaibi wash shahaadatil Kaabeerul Muta’aal
10. سَوَاءٌ مِنْكُمْ مَنْ أَسَرَّ الْقَوْلَ وَمَنْ جَهَرَ بِهِ وَمَنْ هُوَ مُسْتَخْفٍ بِاللَّيْلِ وَسَارِبٌ بِالنَّهَارِ
Sawā’un Minkum Man ‘Asarra Al-Qawla Wa Man Jahara Bihi Wa Man Huwa Mustakhfin Bil-Layli Wa Sāribun Bin-Nahāri
13:10 It is the same to Him whether any of you conceals/hides the speech or who/ whether publicizes it and who/ whether he is hidden by/ in the night or goes freely by day.
13:10 It is the same to Him [of you] (one) who conceals the speech or (one) who publicizes it and (one) who [he] (is) hidden by night or goes freely by day.
10. Sawaaa’um minkum man asarral qawla wa man jahara bihee wa man huwa mustakhfim billaili wa saaribum binnahaar
11. لَهُ مُعَقِّبَاتٌ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ يَحْفَظُونَهُ مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ ۗ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ سُوءًا فَلَا مَرَدَّ لَهُ ۚ وَمَا لَهُمْ مِنْ دُونِهِ مِنْ وَالٍ
Lahu Mu`aqqibātun Min Bayni Yadayhi Wa Min Khalfihi Yaĥfažūnahu Min ‘Amri Al-Lahi ‘Inna Al-Laha Lā Yughayyiru Mā Biqawmin Ĥattá Yughayyirū Mā Bi’anfusihim Wa ‘Idhā ‘Arāda Al-Lahu Biqawmin Sū’āan Falā Maradda Lahu Wa Mā Lahum Min Dūnihi Min Wa A-Lin
13:11 For him there are successive ˹angels˺ from between his hands (i.e., in front) and from behind him who guard him by the Command of Allah. Indeed, Allah does not change whatever is ˹the condition˺ of a people, until they change what/ whatever is in themselves. And when Allah wills misfortune/ harm/ torment for a people, then there is no turning away of it, and there is not for them any protector from besides Him.
and there is not any protector for them from besides Him.
and there is not for them any protector from besides Him.
and there is not for them from besides Him any protector.
11. Lahoo mu’aqqibaatum mim baini yadaihi wa min khalfihee yahfazoonahoo min amril laah; innal laaha laa yughaiyiru maa biqawmin hattaa yughaiyiroo maa bianfusihim; wa izaaa araadal laahu biqawmin sooo’an falaa maradda lah; wa maa lahum min dooniheeminw waal
12. هُوَ الَّذِي يُرِيكُمُ الْبَرْقَ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا وَيُنْشِئُ السَّحَابَ الثِّقَالَ
Huwa Al-Ladhī Yurīkumu Al-Barqa Khawfāan Wa Ţama`āan Wa Yunshi’u As-Saĥāba Ath-Thiqāla
13:12 He ˹Allah˺ is the One Who shows you the lightning, ˹inspiring˺ a fear and a hope and brings up/ raises/ produces the heavy clouds.
12. Huwal lazee yureekumul barqa khawfanw wa tama’anw wa yunshi’us sahaabas siqaal
13. وَيُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ مِنْ خِيفَتِهِ وَيُرْسِلُ الصَّوَاعِقَ فَيُصِيبُ بِهَا مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَهُمْ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي اللَّهِ وَهُوَ شَدِيدُ الْمِحَالِ
Wa Yusabbiĥu Ar-Ra`du Biĥamdihi Wa Al-Malā’ikatu Min Khīfatihi Wa Yursilu Aş-Şawā`iqa Fayuşību Bihā Man Yashā’u Wa Hum Yujādilūna Fī Al-Lahi Wa Huwa Shadīdu Al-Miĥāli
13:13 And the thunder glorifies ˹Allah˺ with his praise – and ˹so do˺ the Angels from fear of Him. And He sends the thunderbolts and strikes with them whoever He wills. Yet they dispute about Allah. And He is Mighty in Strength.
13. Wa yusabbihur ra’du bihamdihee walmalaaa’ikatu min kheefatihee wa yursilus sawaa’iqa fa yuseebu bihaa mai yashaaa’u wa hum yujaadiloona fil laahi wa Huwa shadeedul mihaal
14. لَهُ دَعْوَةُ الْحَقِّ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ لَا يَسْتَجِيبُونَ لَهُمْ بِشَيْءٍ إِلَّا كَبَاسِطِ كَفَّيْهِ إِلَى الْمَاءِ لِيَبْلُغَ فَاهُ وَمَا هُوَ بِبَالِغِهِ ۚ وَمَا دُعَاءُ الْكَافِرِينَ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ
Lahu Da`watu Al-Ĥaqqi Wa Al-Ladhīna Yad`ūna Min Dūnihi Lā Yastajībūna Lahum Bishay’in ‘Illā Kabāsiţi Kaffayhi ‘Ilá Al-Mā’i Liyablugha Fāhu Wa Mā Huwa Bibālighihi Wa Mā Du`ā’u Al-Kāfirīna ‘Illā Fī Đalālin
13:14 To/For Him ˹alone˺ is supplication/call of the truth. And those whom they invoke/call upon from besides Him they do not respond to them with a thing except like some one who stretches/extends his hands towards water ˹asking it˺ to reach his mouth, but it not/never reaches it. And the supplication/calls of the disbelievers is not/nothing but in error.
Calling upon Him alone is the truth.
14. Lahoo da’watul haqq; wallazeena yad’oona min doonihee laa yastajeeboona lahum bishai’in illaa kabaasiti kaffaihi ilal maaa’i liyablugha faahu wa maa huwa bibaalighih; wa maa du’aaa’ul kaafireena illaa fee dalaal
15. وَلِلَّهِ يَسْجُدُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَظِلَالُهُمْ بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْآصَالِ ۩
Wa Lillahi Yasjudu Man Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Ţaw`āan Wa Karhāan Wa Žilāluhum Bil-Ghudūwi Wa Al-‘Āşāli
13:15 And to Allah ˹alone˺ prostrates/ bows down ˹in submission˺ whoever/ whatever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and ˹so do˺ their shadows in the mornings and in the afternoons.
And to Allah ˹alone˺ whoever is in the heavens and the earth bows down ˹in submission˺
15. Wa lillaahi yasjudu man fis samaawaati wal ardi taw ‘anw wa karhanw wa zilaaluhum bilghuduwwi wal aasaal (make sajda)
16. قُلْ مَنْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ قُلِ اللَّهُ ۚ قُلْ أَفَاتَّخَذْتُمْ مِنْ دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا ۚ قُلْ هَلْ يَسْتَوِي الْأَعْمَىٰ وَالْبَصِيرُ أَمْ هَلْ تَسْتَوِي الظُّلُمَاتُ وَالنُّورُ ۗ أَمْ جَعَلُوا لِلَّهِ شُرَكَاءَ خَلَقُوا كَخَلْقِهِ فَتَشَابَهَ الْخَلْقُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ قُلِ اللَّهُ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ
Qul Man Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Quli Al-Lahu Qul ‘Afāttakhadhtum Min Dūnihi ‘Awliyā’a Lā Yamlikūna Li’nfusihim Naf`āan Wa Lā Đarrāan Qul Hal Yastawī Al-‘A`má Wa Al-Başīru ‘Am Hal Tastawī Až-Žulumātu Wa An-Nūr ‘Am Ja`alū Lillahi Shurakā’a Khalaqū Kakhalqihi Fatashābaha Al-Khalqu `Alayhim Quli Al-Lahu Khāliqu Kulli Shay’in Wa Huwa Al-Wāĥidu Al-Qahhāru
13:16 Say, ˹to them, O Prophet˺ “Who is the Lord of the heavens and the earth?” Say, “Allah.” Say, “Have you then taken protectors from besides Him, they do not have power for themselves to benefit and nor to harm?” Say, “Is the blind and the seeing equal? Or is the darkness and the light equal? Or have they associate partners to Allah who ˹supposedly˺ created a creation like His, so that the creation ˹they made & His creation˺ seemed similar to them?” Say, “Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the One the Irresistible/ Supreme.“
16. Qul mar Rabbus samaawaati wal ard; qulillaah; qul afattakhaztum min dooniheee awliyaaa’a laa yamlikoona li anfusihim naf’anw wa laa darraa; qul hal yastawil a’maa wal baseeru am hal tastawiz zulumaatu wannoor; am ja’aloo lillaahi shurakaaa’a khalaqoo kakhalqihee fatashaa bahal khalqu ‘alaihim; qulil laahu Khaaliqu kulli shai’inw wa Huwal Waahidul Qahhar
17. أَنْزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَسَالَتْ أَوْدِيَةٌ بِقَدَرِهَا فَاحْتَمَلَ السَّيْلُ زَبَدًا رَابِيًا ۚ وَمِمَّا يُوقِدُونَ عَلَيْهِ فِي النَّارِ ابْتِغَاءَ حِلْيَةٍ أَوْ مَتَاعٍ زَبَدٌ مِثْلُهُ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ الْحَقَّ وَالْبَاطِلَ ۚ فَأَمَّا الزَّبَدُ فَيَذْهَبُ جُفَاءً ۖ وَأَمَّا مَا يَنْفَعُ النَّاسَ فَيَمْكُثُ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَضْرِبُ اللَّهُ الْأَمْثَالَ
‘Anzala Mina As-Samā’i Mā’an Fasālat ‘Awdiyatun Biqadarihā Fāĥtamala As-Saylu Zabadāan Rābīāan Wa Mimmā Yūqidūna `Alayhi Fī An-Nāri Abtighā’a Ĥilyatin ‘Aw Matā`in Zabadun Mithluhu Kadhālika Yađribu Al-Lahu Al-Ĥaqqa Wa Al-Bāţila Fa’ammā Az-Zabadu Fayadh/habu Jufā’an Wa ‘Ammā Mā Yanfa`u An-Nāsa Fayamkuthu Fī Al-‘Arđi Kadhālika Yađribu Al-Lahu Al-‘Amthāla
13:17 He sends down water from the sky and the valleys flows according to their measure/ capacity, and the current carries a rising foam. And a similar foam ˹appears/rises˺ from what they heat on it in the fire in order to make ornaments or utensils. Thus Allah presents the truth and the falsehood. Then as for the foam, it passes away as scum/ ˹worthless˺ residue, and as for what benefits the mankind, remains in the earth. Thus Allah present/s the examples.
And from what they heat on it in the fire in order to make ornaments or utensils, a foam like it ˹appears˺.
17. Anzala minas samaaa’i maaa’an fasaalat awdiyatum biqadarihaa fahtamalas sailu zabadar raabiyaa; wa mimmmaa yooqidoona ‘alaihi fin naarib tighaaa’a bilyatin aw mataa’in zabadum misluh; kazaalika yadribul laahul haqqa wal baatil; fa ammaz zabadu fa yazhabu jufaaa’aa; wa ammaa maa yanfa’un naasa fa yamkusu fil ard; kazaalika yadribul laahul amsaal
18. لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَجَابُوا لِرَبِّهِمُ الْحُسْنَىٰ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَهُ لَوْ أَنَّ لَهُمْ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا وَمِثْلَهُ مَعَهُ لَافْتَدَوْا بِهِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ سُوءُ الْحِسَابِ وَمَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ
Lilladhīna Astajābū Lirabbihimu Al-Ĥusná Wa Al-Ladhīna Lam Yastajībū Lahu Law ‘Anna Lahum Mā Fī Al-‘Arđi Jamī`āan Wa Mithlahu Ma`ahu Lāftadaw Bihi ‘Ūlā’ika Lahum Sū’u Al-Ĥisābi Wa Ma’wāhum Jahannamu Wa Bi’sa Al-Mihādu
13:18 For those who responded to their Lord will have the finest reward. And for those who did/do not respond to Him, if that they had all whatever is in the earth and the like of it with it, surely they would offer ransom with it. Those for them is a terrible reckoning/ accounting, and their home is/ will be Hell, and wretched/ evil is the resting place.
18. Lillazeenas tajaaboo lirabbihimul husnaa; wallazeena lam yastajeeboo lahoo law anna lahum maa fil ardi jamee’anw wa mislahoo ma’ahoo laftadaw bih; ulaaa’ika lahum sooo’ul hisaab; wa ma’waahum Jahannamu wa bi’sal mihaad (section 2)
19. أَفَمَنْ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَ الْحَقُّ كَمَنْ هُوَ أَعْمَىٰ ۚ إِنَّمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ
‘Afaman Ya`lamu ‘Annamā ‘Unzila ‘Ilayka Min Rabbika Al-Ĥaqqu Kaman Huwa ‘A`má ‘Innamā Yatadhakkaru ‘Ūlū Al-‘Albābi
13:19 Then is/ Can he who knows that what has been revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ from your Lord is the truth be like he who is blind? Only men of understanding will pay heed/ will be mindful.
19. Afamai ya’lamu annamaaa unzila ilaika mir Rabbikal haqqu kaman huwa a’maa; innamaa yatazakkaru ulul albaab
20. الَّذِينَ يُوفُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَلَا يَنْقُضُونَ الْمِيثَاقَ
Al-Ladhīna Yūfūna Bi`ahdi Al-Lahi Wa Lā Yanquđūna Al-Mīthāqa
13:20 ˹They are˺ those who fulfill the Covenant of Allah and they do not break the contract,
20. Allazeena yoofoona bi’ahdil laahi wa laa yanqu doonal meesaaq
21. وَالَّذِينَ يَصِلُونَ مَا أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَنْ يُوصَلَ وَيَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ وَيَخَافُونَ سُوءَ الْحِسَابِ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Yaşilūna Mā ‘Amara Al-Lahu Bihi ‘An Yūşala Wa Yakhshawna Rabbahum Wa Yakhāfūna Sū’a Al-Ĥisābi
13:21 And those who join/ keep together/ maintain what Allah has commanded/ ordered for it to be joined/ maintained, and fear their Lord and are afraid of the evil the account/reckoning/ strict judgment.
21. Wallazeena yasiloona maaa amaral laahu bihee ai yoosala wa yakhshawna Rabbahum wa yakhaafoona sooo’al hisaab
22. وَالَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَأَنْفَقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ سِرًّا وَعَلَانِيَةً وَيَدْرَءُونَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ السَّيِّئَةَ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Şabarū Abtighā’a Wajhi Rabbihim Wa ‘Aqāmū Aş-Şalāata Wa ‘Anfaqū Mimmā Razaqnāhum Sirrāan Wa `Alāniyatan Wa Yadra’ūna Bil-Ĥasanati As-Sayyi’ata ‘Ūlā’ika Lahum `Uqbá Ad-Dāri
13:22 And those who are patient, seeking the Face (i.e., pleasure) of their Lord and establish the prayer and spend from what We have provided them, secretly and publicly/ openly and they repel/ drive off the evil with the good – those for them is the final attainment/ Ultimate Home.
22. Wallazeena sabarub tighaaa’a Wajhi Rabbihim wa aqaamus Salaata wa anfaqoo mimmaa razaqnaahum sirranw wa ‘alaaniyatanw wa yadra’oona bilhasanatis saiyi’ata ulaaa’ika lahum ‘uqbad daar
23. جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ يَدْخُلُونَهَا وَمَنْ صَلَحَ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ ۖ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ يَدْخُلُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ كُلِّ بَابٍ
Jannātu `Adnin Yadkhulūnahā Wa Man Şalaĥa Min ‘Ābā’ihim Wa ‘Azwājihim Wa Dhurrīyātihim Wa Al-Malā’ikatu Yadkhulūna `Alayhim Min Kulli Bābin
13:23 the Gardens of Eternity (i.e., Eden), which they will enter them and whoever were righteous among their parents and their spouses, and their descendants. And the Angels will enter upon them from every gate,
23. Jannaatu ‘adiny yadkhu loonahaa wa man salaha min aabaaa’ihim wa azwaajihim wa zurriyyaatihim walmalaaa’i katu yadkhuloona ‘alaihim min kulli baab
24. سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ ۚ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ
Salāmun `Alaykum Bimā Şabartum Fani`ma `Uqbá Ad-Dāri
13:24 “Peace be upon you for what you patiently endured. And/How excellent is the Ultimate Home.”
24. Salaamun ‘alaikum bimaa sabartum; fani’ma ‘uqbad daar
25. وَالَّذِينَ يَنْقُضُونَ عَهْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مِيثَاقِهِ وَيَقْطَعُونَ مَا أَمَرَ اللَّهُ بِهِ أَنْ يُوصَلَ وَيُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمُ اللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوءُ الدَّارِ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Yanquđūna `Ahda Al-Lahi Min Ba`di Mīthāqihi Wa Yaqţa`ūna Mā ‘Amara Al-Lahu Bihi ‘An Yūşala Wa Yufsidūna Fī Al-‘Arđi ‘Ūlā’ika Lahumu Al-La`natu Wa Lahum Sū’u Ad-Dāri
13:25 And those who break the Covenant of Allah from after contracting it, and sever/ break what Allah has commanded/ ordered for it to be joined and spread corruption in the earth. Those – for them is the curse, and for them is an evil/ terrible/ worst home.
25. Wallazeena yanqudoona ‘Ahdal laahi mim ba’di meesaaqihee wa yaqta’oona maaa amaral laahu biheee ai yoosala wa yufsidoona fil ardi ulaaa’ika lahumul la’natu wa lahum sooo’ud daar
26. اللَّهُ يَبْسُطُ الرِّزْقَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَقْدِرُ ۚ وَفَرِحُوا بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا مَتَاعٌ
Al-Lahu Yabsuţu Ar-Rizqa Liman Yashā’u Wa Yaqdiru Wa Fariĥū Bil-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Mā Al-Ĥayāatu Ad-Dunyā Fī Al-‘Ākhirati ‘Illā Matā`un
13:26 Allah extends and restricts/limits the provision for whom He wills. And they rejoice/ are happy in the life of the world, and the life of the world is nothing in ˹comparison˺ to the Hereafter, except a ˹short-lived˺ enjoyment.
26. Allaahu yabsutur rizqa limai yashaaa’u wa yaqdir; wa farihoo bilhayaatid dunyaa wa mal hayaatud dunya fil Aakhirati illaa mataa’ (section 3)
27. وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَوْلَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيَهْدِي إِلَيْهِ مَنْ أَنَابَ
Wa Yaqūlu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lawlā ‘Unzila `Alayhi ‘Āyatun Min Rabbihi Qul ‘Inna Al-Laha Yuđillu Man Yashā’u Wa Yahdī ‘Ilayhi Man ‘Anāba
13:27 And those who disbelieved say, “Why has a Sign not been sent down to him from his Lord?” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Indeed, Allah leaves to stray whoever He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back ˹to Him˺,
27. Wa yaqoolul lazeena kafaroo law laaa unzila ‘alaihi Aayatum mir Rabbih; qul innal laaha yudillu mai yashaa’u wa yahdeee ilaihi man anaab
28. الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُمْ بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۗ أَلَا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ
Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Wa Taţma’innu Qulūbuhum Bidhikri Al-Lahi ‘Alā Bidhikri Al-Lahi Taţma’innu Al-Qulūbu
13:28 Those who believe and their hearts find satisfaction in the remembrance of Allah. No doubt/Unquestionably, in the remembrance of Allah the hearts find satisfaction.”
28. Allazeena aamanoo wa tatma’innu quloobuhum bizikril laah; alaa bizikril laahi tatma’innul quloob
29. الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ طُوبَىٰ لَهُمْ وَحُسْنُ مَآبٍ
Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Ţūbá Lahum Wa Ĥusnu Ma’ābin
13:29 Those who believe and do righteous deeds, for them will be/ is blessedness/ bliss and a beautiful place of return.
29. Allazeena aamanoo wa a’amilus saalihaati toobaa lahum wa husnu ma aab
30. كَذَٰلِكَ أَرْسَلْنَاكَ فِي أُمَّةٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهَا أُمَمٌ لِتَتْلُوَ عَلَيْهِمُ الَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ يَكْفُرُونَ بِالرَّحْمَٰنِ ۚ قُلْ هُوَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ مَتَابِ
Kadhālika ‘Arsalnāka Fī ‘Ummatin Qad Khalat Min Qablihā ‘Umamun Litatluwa `Alayhimu Al-Ladhī ‘Awĥaynā ‘Ilayka Wa Hum Yakfurūna Bir-Raĥmani Qul Huwa Rabbī Lā ‘Ilāha ‘Illā Huwa `Alayhi Tawakkaltu Wa ‘Ilayhi Matābi
13:30 Thus We have sent you ˹O Prophet˺ to a nation, certainly from before it/ which nations have passed away, so that you might recite to them that which We revealed to you, while they disbelieve in the Most Gracious. Say, “He is my Lord, there is no god except Him. In Him I put my trust and to Him is my return.”
30. Kazaalika arsalnaaka feee ummatin qad khalat min qablihaaa umamul litatluwa ‘alaihimul lazeee awhainaaa ilaika wa hum yakfuroona bir Rahmaaan; qul Huwa Rabbee laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa ‘alaihi tawakkaltu wa ilaihi mataab
31. وَلَوْ أَنَّ قُرْآنًا سُيِّرَتْ بِهِ الْجِبَالُ أَوْ قُطِّعَتْ بِهِ الْأَرْضُ أَوْ كُلِّمَ بِهِ الْمَوْتَىٰ ۗ بَلْ لِلَّهِ الْأَمْرُ جَمِيعًا ۗ أَفَلَمْ يَيْأَسِ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنْ لَوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ لَهَدَى النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا ۗ وَلَا يَزَالُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا تُصِيبُهُمْ بِمَا صَنَعُوا قَارِعَةٌ أَوْ تَحُلُّ قَرِيبًا مِنْ دَارِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَ وَعْدُ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ
Wa Law ‘Anna Qur’ānāan Suyyirat Bihi Al-Jibālu ‘Aw Quţţi`at Bihi Al-‘Arđu ‘Aw Kullima Bihi Al-Mawtá Bal Lillahi Al-‘Amru Jamī`āan ‘Afalam Yay’asi Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū ‘An Law Yashā’u Al-Lahu Lahadá An-Nāsa Jamī`āan Wa Lā Yazālu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Tuşībuhum Bimā Şana`ū Qāri`atun ‘Aw Taĥullu Qarībāan Min Dārihim Ĥattá Ya’tiya Wa`du Al-Lahi ‘Inna Al-Laha Lā Yukhlifu Al-Mī`āda
13:31 And if there were a recitation that could cause the mountains to move with it, or the earth to break apart with it, or the dead to speak with it. But all the matters are with Allah. Do those who believe not know/ realize that if Allah had willed, surely, He would have guided all of the mankind/humankind? And a disaster will not cease to strike those who disbelieve for what they did, or it (i.e. the disaster) settles close from their homes until the Promise of Allah comes to pass. Indeed, Allah never fails in ˹His˺ Promise.
And those who disbelieve, a disaster will not cease to strike them for what they did,
Indeed, Allah will not fail in the Promise.
Indeed, Allah does not fail in the Promise.
Indeed, Allah never fails in ˹His˺ Promise.
13:31 And if that was any Quran, could be moved by it the mountains, or could be cloven asunder by it the earth, or could be made to speak by it the dead. Nay, with Allah (is) the command all. Then do not know those who believe that if had willed Allah surely, He would have guided (of) the mankind all? And not will cease those who disbelieve to strike them for what they did a disaster, or it settles close from their homes until the Promise of Allah comes. Indeed, Allah never fails in ˹His˺ Promise.
31. Wa law anna Quraanan suyyirat bihil jibaalu aw qutti’at bihil ardu aw kullima bihil mawtaa; bal lillaahil amru jamee’aa; afalam yai’asil lazeena aamanooo al law yashaaa ‘ullaahu lahadan naasa jamee’aa; wa laa yazaalul lazeena kafaroo tuseebuhum bimaa sana’oo qaari’atun aw tahullu qareebam min daarihim hatta ya’tiya wa’dul laah; innal laaha laa yukhliful mee’aad (section 4)
32. وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَأَمْلَيْتُ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ثُمَّ أَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ
Wa Laqadi Astuhzi’a Birusulin Min Qablika Fa’amlaytu Lilladhīna Kafarū Thumma ‘Akhadhtuhum Fakayfa Kāna `Iqābi
13:32 And certainly, Messengers from before you were mocked, but I granted respite/ extended time to those who disbelieved; then I seized them, and how ˹horrible˺ was My penalty.
32. Wa laqadis tuhzi’a bi Rusulim min qablika fa amlaitu lillazeena kafaroo summa akhaztuhum fakaifa kaana ‘iqaab
33. أَفَمَنْ هُوَ قَائِمٌ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ ۗ وَجَعَلُوا لِلَّهِ شُرَكَاءَ قُلْ سَمُّوهُمْ ۚ أَمْ تُنَبِّئُونَهُ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ بِظَاهِرٍ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ ۗ بَلْ زُيِّنَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مَكْرُهُمْ وَصُدُّوا عَنِ السَّبِيلِ ۗ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ هَادٍ
‘Afaman Huwa Qā’imun `Alá Kulli Nafsin Bimā Kasabat Wa Ja`alū Lillahi Shurakā’a Qul Sammūhum ‘Am Tunabbi’ūnahu Bimā Lā Ya`lamu Fī Al-‘Arđi ‘Am Bižāhirin Mina Al-Qawli Bal Zuyyina Lilladhīna Kafarū Makruhum Wa Şuddū `Ani As-Sabīli Wa Man Yuđlili Al-Lahu Famā Lahu Min Hādin
13:33 Is then He Who stands over every soul ˹knowing˺ for what it has earned? Yet they associate partners to Allah. Say, ˹to them, O Prophet,˺ “Name them! Or do you inform Him of what/ something He does not know in the earth or it is just a show of words?” Rather, for those who disbelieve their plotting is made fair-seeming, and they are hindered/ turned away from the Path. And whoever Allah leaves to stray then there will not be any guide for him.
33. Afaman Huwa qaaa’imun ‘alaa kulli nafsim bimaa kasabat; wa ja’aloo lillaahi shurakaaa’a qul samoohum; am tunabbi’oona hoo bimaa laa ya’lamu fil ardi; am bizaahirim minal qawl; bal zuyyina lillazeena kafaroo makruhum wa suddoo ‘anis sabeel; wa mai yudlilil laahu famaa lahoo min haad;
34. لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَشَقُّ ۖ وَمَا لَهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ وَاقٍ
Lahum `Adhābun Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa La`adhābu Al-‘Ākhirati ‘Ashaqqu Wa Mā Lahum Mina Al-Lahi Min Wāqin
13:34 For them is a punishment in the life of the world and surely the punishment of the Hereafter is harder. And they will not have any protector from Allah.
And not for them from Allah any protector.
34. Lahum ‘azaabun fil hayaatid dunyaa wa la’azaabul Aakhirati ashaq, wa maa lahum minal laahi min-waaq
35. مَثَلُ الْجَنَّةِ الَّتِي وُعِدَ الْمُتَّقُونَ ۖ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ۖ أُكُلُهَا دَائِمٌ وَظِلُّهَا ۚ تِلْكَ عُقْبَى الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا ۖ وَعُقْبَى الْكَافِرِينَ النَّارُ
Mathalu Al-Jannati Allatī Wu`ida Al-Muttaqūna Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-‘Anhāru ‘Ukuluhā Dā’imun Wa Žilluhā Tilka `Uqbá Al-Ladhīna Attaqaw Wa `Uqbá Al-Kāfirīna An-Nāru
13:35 The example of the Paradise which is promised to the righteous, from underneath it the rivers flows. Its food and its shade is everlasting. This is the ˹ultimate˺ outcome/end of those who are righteous, and the outcome/end of the disbelievers is the Fire.
35. Masalul Jannatil latee wu’idal muttaqoona tajree min tahtihal anhaaru ukuluhaa daaa’imunw wa zilluhaa; tilka uqbal lazeenat taqaw wa ‘uqbal kafireenan Naar
36. وَالَّذِينَ آتَيْنَاهُمُ الْكِتَابَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَمِنَ الْأَحْزَابِ مَنْ يُنْكِرُ بَعْضَهُ ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَا أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَلَا أُشْرِكَ بِهِ ۚ إِلَيْهِ أَدْعُو وَإِلَيْهِ مَآبِ
Wa Al-Ladhīna ‘Ātaynāhumu Al-Kitāba Yafraĥūna Bimā ‘Unzila ‘Ilayka Wa Mina Al-‘Aĥzābi Man Yunkiru Ba`đahu Qul ‘Innamā ‘Umirtu ‘An ‘A`buda Al-Laha Wa Lā ‘Ushrika Bihi ‘Ilayhi ‘Ad`ū Wa ‘Ilayhi Ma’ābi
13:36 And those to whom We have given them the ˹previous˺ Book/Scripture, rejoice at what has been revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺, but among the groups are those who deny a part of it. Say, “I have only been commanded that I worship Allah, and I do not associate partners with Him. To Him I call/invite ˹all˺ and to Him is my return.”
36. Wallazeena aatainaa humul Kitaaba yafrahoona bimaa unzila ilaika wa minal Ahzaabi mai yunkiru ba’dah; qul innamaa umirtu an a’budal laaha wa laaa ushrika bih; ilaihi ad’oo wa ilaihi maab
37. وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ حُكْمًا عَرَبِيًّا ۚ وَلَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتَ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ بَعْدَمَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلَا وَاقٍ
Wa Kadhalika ‘Anzalnāhu Ĥukmāan `Arabīyāan Wa La’ini Attaba`ta ‘Ahwā’ahum Ba`damā Jā’aka Mina Al-`Ilmi Mā Laka Mina Al-Lahi Min Wa Līyin Wa Lā Wāqin
13:37 And thus We have revealed it as a judgment of authority in Arabic. And if you follow their desires after what came to you of the knowledge, you will not have any ally/ guardian and nor protector from Allah.
37. Wa kazaalika anzalnaahu hukman ‘Arabiyyaa; wa la’init taba’ta ahwaaa ‘ahum ba’da maa jaaa’aka minal ‘ilmi maa laka minal laahi minw waliyinw wa laa waaq (section 5)
38. وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلًا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ أَزْوَاجًا وَذُرِّيَّةً ۚ وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِآيَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۗ لِكُلِّ أَجَلٍ كِتَابٌ
Wa Laqad ‘Arsalnā Rusulāan Min Qablika Wa Ja`alnā Lahum ‘Azwājāan Wa Dhurrīyatan Wa Mā Kāna Lirasūlin ‘An Ya’tiya Bi’āyatin ‘Illā Bi’idhni Al-Lahi Likulli ‘Ajalin Kitābun
13:38 And certainly, We sent Messengers from before you ˹O Prophet˺ and We made/appointed/ for them wives and offspring. And it was not for a Messenger that he comes with a sign except by the permission of Allah. For everything is a time prescribed.
38. Wa laqad arsalnaa Rusulam min qablika wa ja’alnaa lahum azwaajanw wa zurriyyah; wa maa kaana lirasoolin ai ya’tiya bi aayatin illaa bi iznil laah; likulli ajalin kitaab
39. يَمْحُو اللَّهُ مَا يَشَاءُ وَيُثْبِتُ ۖ وَعِنْدَهُ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ
Yamĥū Al-Lahu Mā Yashā’u Wa Yuthbitu Wa `Indahu ‘Ummu Al-Kitābi
13:39 Allah eliminates/ erases and confirms what He wills, and with Him is the Mother of the Book.
39. Yamhul laahu maa yashaaa’u wa yusbitu wa ‘indahooo ummul Kitaab
40. وَإِنْ مَا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ الَّذِي نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلَاغُ وَعَلَيْنَا الْحِسَابُ
Wa ‘In Mā Nuriyannaka Ba`đa Al-Ladhī Na`iduhum ‘Aw Natawaffayannaka Fa’innamā `Alayka Al-Balāghu Wa `Alaynā Al-Ĥisābu
13:40 And if whether We show you ˹O Prophet˺ some of what We have promised them or We cause you to die ˹before that˺, so on you is only to deliver ˹the message˺, and the judgement is on Us.
40. Wa im maa nurriyannaka ba’dal lazee na’iduhum aw nata waffayannaka fa innamaa ‘alaikal balaaghu wa ‘alainal hisaab
41. أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا نَأْتِي الْأَرْضَ نَنْقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ لَا مُعَقِّبَ لِحُكْمِهِ ۚ وَهُوَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ
‘Awalam Yaraw ‘Annā Na’tī Al-‘Arđa Nanquşuhā Min ‘Aţrāfihā Wa Allāhu Yaĥkumu Lā Mu`aqqiba Liĥukmihi Wa Huwa Sarī`u Al-Ĥisābi
13:41 Did they not see that We come to the land, reducing it from its borders? And Allah judges/ decides—no/ none can adjuster/ reverse His Judgment/ decision. And He is Swift in the reckoning.
41. Awalam yaraw annaa na’til arda nanqusuhaa min atraafihaa; wallaahu yahkumu laa mu’aqqiba lihukmih; wa Huwa saree’ul hisaab
42. وَقَدْ مَكَرَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَلِلَّهِ الْمَكْرُ جَمِيعًا ۖ يَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْسِبُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ الْكُفَّارُ لِمَنْ عُقْبَى الدَّارِ
Wa Qad Makara Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Falillāhi Al-Makru Jamī`āan Ya`lamu Mā Taksibu Kullu Nafsin Wa Saya`lamu Al-Kuffāru Liman `Uqbá Ad-Dāri
13:42 And certainly those ˹disbelievers˺ who were from before them plotted, but for Allah belongs all the plan. He knows what every soul earns, and the disbelievers will know for whom is the final/ ultimate home.
42. Wa qad makaral lazeena min qablihim falillaahil makru jamee’aa; ya’lamu maa taksibu kullu nafs; wa sa ya’lamul kuffaaru liman ‘uqbad daar
43. وَيَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَسْتَ مُرْسَلًا ۚ قُلْ كَفَىٰ بِاللَّهِ شَهِيدًا بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَكُمْ وَمَنْ عِنْدَهُ عِلْمُ الْكِتَابِ
Wa Yaqūlu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lasta Mursalāan Qul Kafá Bil-Lahi Shahīdāan Baynī Wa Baynakum Wa Man `Indahu `Ilmu Al-Kitābi
13:43 And those who disbelieve say, “You ˹Muḥammad˺ are not a Messenger.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Allah is Sufficient as a Witness between me and between you, and whoever has knowledge of the Book.“
43. Wa yaqoolul lazeena kafaroo lasta mursalaa; qul kafaa billaahi shaheedam bainee wa bainakum wa man ‘indahoo ‘ilmul Kitaab (section 6)
