19. Surah Maryam PART 1

1. كهيعص
Kāf-Hā-Yā-`Ayn-Şād
19:1  Kaaf Ha Ya Ain Sad.
1. Kaaaf-Haa-Yaa-‘Ayyyn-Saaad
2. ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُۥ زَكَرِيَّآ
Dhikru Raĥmati Rabbika `Abdahu Zakarīyā
19:2 ˹This is˺ a reminder of the Mercy of your Lord to His servant Zachariah,
2. Zikru rahmati Rabbika ‘abdahoo Zakariyya
3. إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ نِدَاءً خَفِيًّا
Idh Nādá Rabbahu Nidā’an Khafīyāan
19:3  When he called upon his Lord calling privately/ secretly, 

3. Iz naadaa Rabbahoo nidaaa’an khafiyyaa
4. قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَهَنَ الْعَظْمُ مِنِّي وَاشْتَعَلَ الرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُنْ بِدُعَائِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا
Qāla Rabbi Innī Wahana Al-`Ažmu Minnī Wa Ashta`ala Ar-Ra’su Shaybāan Wa LamAkun Bidu`ā’ika Rabbi Shaqīyāan
19:4  He ˹Zachariah˺ said,My Lord! Indeed my bones have become brittle, and white hair has flared (i.e., spread) across my head, and I have never been unblessed/ disappointed in my  supplication/ prayer to You, my Lord!

“my bones have become brittle of me”

19:4  He said,My Lord! Indeed, I – (have) weakened my bones mine, and flared (my) head (with) white, and not I have been in (my) supplication (to) You my Lord unblessed.
4. Qaala Rabbi innee wahanal ‘azmu minnee washta ‘alar ra’su shaibanw wa lam akun bidu’aaa’ika Rabbi shaqiyyaa
5. وَإِنِّي خِفْتُ الْمَوَالِيَ مِنْ وَرَائِي وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتِي عَاقِرًا فَهَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ وَلِيًّا
Wa ‘Innī Khiftu Al-Mawāliya Min Warā’ī Wa Kānati Amra’atī `Āqirāan Fahab  Min Ladunka Walīyāan
19:5  And indeed, I fear the successors from after me, and my wife is barren. So grant me, from Your grace, an heir

19:5  And indeed, I [I] fear the successors from after me, and is my wife barren. So give [to] me from Yourself an heir
5. Wa innee khiftul mawaaliya minw waraaa’ee wa kaanat imra atee ‘aqiran fa hablee mil ladunka waliyyaa
6. يَرِثُنِي وَيَرِثُ مِنْ آلِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَاجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّا
Yarithunī Wa Yarithu Min Āli Ya`qūba Wa Aj`alhu Rabbi Rađīyāan
19:6 Who will inherit me (i.e., prophethood) and inherit from the family of Yaqub (i.e., Jacob). And make him, my Lord, pleasing ˹to You˺!” 
6. Yarisunee wa yarisu min aali Ya’qoob, waj’alhu Rabbi radiyya
7. يَا زَكَرِيَّا إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَامٍ اسْمُهُ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَلْ لَهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ سَمِيًّا
Yā Zakarīyā ‘Innā Nubashshiruka Bighulāmin Asmuhu Yaĥyá Lam Naj`al Lahu Min Qablu Samīyāan
19:7 ˹The angels announced,˺ O Zakariya! Indeed, We give you good news of ˹the birth of˺ a boy, his name will be Yahya ˹John˺, a name We have not assigned/ given to any one before.”
7. Yaa Zakariyyaaa innaa nubashshiruka bi ghulaamin ismuhoo Yahyaa lam naj’al lahoo min qablu samiyyaa
8. قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَامٌ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتِي عَاقِرًا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ الْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّا
Qāla Rabbi Anná Yakūnu Lī Ghulāmun Wa Kānat Amra’atī `Āqirāan Wa Qad Balaghtu Mina Al-Kibari `Itīyāan
19:8 He ˹Zachariah˺ said, “My Lord! How can I have a boy, while my wife is barren, and indeed, I have reached the extreme of old age?”

8. Qaala Rabbi annaa yakoonu lee ghulaamunw wakaanat imra atee ‘aaqiranw wa qad balaghtu minal kibari ‘itiyyaa
9. قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْئًا
Qāla Kadhālika Qāla Rabbuka Huwa `Alayya Hayyinun Wa Qad Khalaqtuka Min Qablu Wa Lam Taku Shay’āan
19:9 He said, “Thus ˹it will be˺, your Lord said,It is easy for Me, and certainly I have created you from before, while you were not anything.'”
9. Qaala kazaalika qaala Rabbuka huwa ‘alaiya haiyinunw wa qad khalaqtuka min qablu wa lam taku shai’aa
10. قَالَ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ لِي آيَةً ۚ قَالَ آيَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ سَوِيًّا
Qāla Rabbi Aj`al  ‘Āyatan Qāla Āyatuka Allā Tukallima An-Nāsa Thalātha Layālin Sawīyāan
19:10 He ˹Zachariah˺ said,My Lord! Give me a sign.” He said, Your sign is that you will not ˹be able to˺ speak to the people, for three nights, despite being sound (i.e., healthy)
10. Qaala Rabbij ‘al leee Aayah; qaala Aayatuka allaa tukalliman naasa salaasa layaalin sawiyyaa
11. فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ مِنَ الْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰ إِلَيْهِمْ أَنْ سَبِّحُوا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
Fakharaja `Alá Qawmihi Mina Al-Miĥrābi Fa’awĥá ‘Ilayhim An Sabbiĥū Bukratan Wa `Ashīyāan
19:11 Then he came out to his people from the prayer chamber, and he signaled them to glorify ˹Allah˺ in the morning and evening.
11. Fakharaja ‘alaa qawmihee minal mihraabi fa-awhaaa ilaihim an sabbihoo bukratanw wa ‘ashiyyaa 
12. يَا يَحْيَىٰ خُذِ الْكِتَابَ بِقُوَّةٍ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّا
Yaĥyá Khudhi Al-Kitāba Biqūwatin Wa ‘Ātaynāhu Al-Ĥukma Şabīyāan
19:12 ˹It was later said,˺ “O Yahya! Hold the Scripture with strength.” And We gave him the wisdom ˹while he was still˺ a child
12. Yaa Yahyaa khuzil Kitaaba biquwwatinw wa aatainaahul hukma sabiyyaa
13. وَحَنَانًا مِنْ لَدُنَّا وَزَكَاةً ۖ وَكَانَ تَقِيًّا
Wa Ĥanānāan Min Ladunnā Wa Zakāatan Wa Kāna Taqīyāan
19:13  And affection from Us and purity and he was God-fearing
13. Wa hanaanam mil ladunnaa wa zakaatanw wa kaana taqiyyaa
14. وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّا
Wa Barrāan Biwālidayhi Wa Lam Yakun Jabbārāan `Aşīyāan
19:14 and dutiful to his parents, and he was neither a tyrant, ˹nor˺ disobedient.
14. Wa barram biwaalidayhi wa lam yakum jabbaaran ‘asiyyaa
15. وَسَلَامٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
Wa Salāmun `Alayhi Yawma Wulida Wa Yawma Yamūtu Wa Yawma Yub`athu Ĥayyāan
19:15 And peace be upon him the day he was born, and the day he dies and the day he will be raised alive/ back to life.
15. Wa salaamun ‘alaihi yawma wulida wa yawma yamootu wa yawma yub’asu haiyyaa (section 1)
16. وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ انْتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًا شَرْقِيًّا
Wa Adhkur  Al-Kitābi Maryama Idh Antabadhat Min Ahlihā Makānāan Sharqīyāan
19:16  And mention in the Book ˹O Prophet, the story of˺ Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the east.
16. Wazkur fil Kitaabi Maryama; izin tabazat min ahlihaa makaanan sharqiyyaa
17. فَاتَّخَذَتْ مِنْ دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًا فَأَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًا سَوِيًّا
Fāttakhadhat Min Dūnihim Ĥijābāan Fa’arsalnā Ilayhā Rūĥanā Fatamaththala Lahā Basharāan Sawīyāan
19:17 Then she took a screen ˹to screen herself˺ from them. Then We sent to her Our Spirit, then he appeared for/before her as a well-proportioned man.

Then she screened herself off from them.  Then We sent to her Our Spirit, then he appeared for her as a man, well-proportioned.
17. Fattakhazat min doonihim hijaaban fa arsalnaaa ilaihaa roohanaa fatamassala lahaa basharan sawiyyaa
18. قَالَتْ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِالرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنْكَ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَقِيًّا
Qālat Innī A`ūdhu Bir-Raĥmani Minka In Kunta Taqīyāan
19:18 She said,Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Gracious from you! ˹So leave me alone˺ if you are God fearing.
18. Qaalat inneee a’oozu bir Rahmaani minka in kunta taqiyyaa
19. قَالَ إِنَّمَا أَنَا رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَامًا زَكِيًّا
Qāla Innamā Anā Rasūlu Rabbiki Li’haba Laki Ghulāmāan Zakīyāan
19:19  He said,I am only a Messenger from your Lord ˹sent˺ so that I may bless/ gift you with a pure son.”

19:19  He said,I am only a Messenger from your Lord ˹sent˺ to bless you with a pure son.”


19. Qaala innamaa ana rasoolu Rabbiki li ahaba laki ghulaaman zakiyyaa
20. قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَامٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِي بَشَرٌ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّا
Qālat Anná Yakūnu  Ghulāmun Wa Lam Yamsasnī Basharun Wa LamAku Baghīyāan
19:20  She said,How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, and nor am I unchaste?”
20. Qaalat anna yakoonu lee ghulaamunw wa lam yamsasnee bashrunw wa lam aku baghiyyaa
21. قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَيَّ هَيِّنٌ ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُ آيَةً لِلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةً مِنَّا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًا مَقْضِيًّا
Qāla Kadhāliki Qāla Rabbuki Huwa `Alayya Hayyinun Wa Linaj`alahu Āyatan Lilnnāsi Wa Raĥmatan Minnā Wa KānaAmrāan Maqđīyāan
19:21  He said,Thus ˹it will be˺, your Lord said,It is easy for Me, and so that We will make him a sign for the humankind and a Mercy from Us. And it is a matter ˹already˺ decreed.'”
21. Qaala kazaaliki qaala Rabbuki huwa ‘alaiya haiyimunw wa linaj ‘alahooo Aayatal linnaasi wa rahmatam minnaa; wa kaana amram maqdiyyaa
22. فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَانْتَبَذَتْ بِهِ مَكَانًا قَصِيًّا
Faĥamalat/hu Fāntabadhat Bihi Makānāan Qaşīyāan
19:22  So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.
22. Fahamalat hu fantabazat bihee makaanan qasiyyaa
23. فَأَجَاءَهَا الْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَا لَيْتَنِي مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنْتُ نَسْيًا مَنْسِيًّا
Fa’ajā’ahā Al-MakhāđuIlá Jidh`i An-Nakhlati Qālat Yā Laytanī Mittu Qabla Hādhā Wa Kuntu Nasyāan Mansīyāan
19:23 Then the pains of childbirth/ the labor pain drove her to the trunk of the date-palm. She said, O! I wish I had died before this and I was in oblivion, forgotten.”
23. Fa ajaaa ‘ahal makhaadu ilaa jiz’in nakhlati qaalat yaa laitanee mittu qabla haazaa wa kuntu nasyam mansiyyaa
24. فَنَادَاهَا مِنْ تَحْتِهَا أَلَّا تَحْزَنِي قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّا
Fanādāhā Min Taĥtihā Allā Taĥzanī Qad Ja`ala Rabbuki Taĥtaki Sarīyāan
19:24  So ˹a voice˺ called to her from beneath her,That do not grieve! Verily, your Lord has placed a stream beneath you.
24. Fanaadaahaa min tahtihaaa allaa tahzanee qad ja’ala Rabbuki tahtaki sariyyaa
25. وَهُزِّي إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ النَّخْلَةِ تُسَاقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا
Wa Huzzī Ilayki Bijidh`i An-Nakhlati Tusāqiţ `Alayki Ruţabāan Janīyāan
19:25  And shake the trunk of the date-palm towards you, it will drop fresh ripe dates upon you.
25. Wa huzzeee ilaiki bijiz ‘in nakhlati tusaaqit ‘alaiki rutaban janiyyaa

19. Surah Maryam Part 2

26. فَكُلِي وَاشْرَبِي وَقَرِّي عَيْنًا ۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ الْبَشَرِ أَحَدًا فَقُولِي إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ صَوْمًا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ الْيَوْمَ إِنْسِيًّا
Fakulī Wa Ashrabī Wa Qarrī `Aynāan Fa’immā Taraynna Mina Al-BashariAĥadāan Faqūlī Innī Nadhartu Lilrraĥmani Şawmāan Falan Ukallima Al-YawmaInsīyāan
19:26 So eat and drink and cool your eyes. And if you see anyone from the people then say, Indeed, I have vowed a fast to the Most Gracious, so I will not speak to any human being today.”
26. Fakulee washrabee wa qarree ‘ainaa; fa immaa tarayinnna minal bashari ahadan faqooleee innee nazartu lir Rahmaani sawman falan ukallimal yawma insiyyaa
27. فَأَتَتْ بِهِ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُ ۖ قَالُوا يَا مَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْئًا فَرِيًّا
Fa’atat Bihi Qawmahā Taĥmiluhu Qālū Yā Maryamu Laqad Ji’ti Shay’āan Farīyāan
19:27 Then she came with him to her people, carrying him. They said, ˹in shock˺, “O Mary! Certainly, you have done a unexpected/horrible thing.

19:27 Then she came with him to her people, carrying him. They said, ˹in shock˺, “O Mary! Certainly, you (have) brought a thing amazing.
27. Fa atat bihee qawmahaa tahmiluhoo qaaloo yaa Maryamoo laqad ji’ti shai’an fariyyaa
28. يَا أُخْتَ هَارُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ امْرَأَ سَوْءٍ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّا
Yā ‘Ukhta Hārūna Kāna Abūki Amra’a Saw’in Wa Mā Kānat Ummuki Baghīyāan
19:28  O sister of Aaron! Your father was not a evil/bad/ wicked man, and nor was your mother unchaste.”
28. Yaaa ukhta Haaroona maa kaana abookimra’a saw’inw wa maa kaanat ummuki baghiyyaa
29. فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُوا كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَنْ كَانَ فِي الْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّا
Fa’ashārat Ilayhi Qālū Kayfa Nukallimu Man Kāna  Al-Mahdi Şabīyāan
19:29  Then she pointed to him (i.e., baby). They said,How can we speak/talk to someone who is an infant/ a child in the cradle?”
29. Fa ashaarat ilaih; qaaloo kaifa nukallimu man kaana fil mahdi sabiyyaa
30. قَالَ إِنِّي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ آتَانِيَ الْكِتَابَ وَجَعَلَنِي نَبِيًّا
Qāla Innī `Abdu Al-LahiĀtāniya Al-Kitāba Wa Ja`alanī Nabīyāan
19:30 He ˹Jesus˺ said,Indeed, I am a servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet.
30. Qaala innee ‘abdullaahi aataaniyal Kitaaba wa ja’alanee Nabiyyaa
31. وَجَعَلَنِي مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُ وَأَوْصَانِي بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّا
Wa Ja`alanī Mubārakāan Ayna Kuntu Wa ‘Awşānī Biş-Şalāati Wa Az-Zakāati Dumtu Ĥayyāan
19:31  And He has made me blessed wherever that I am/ I may be and has enjoined/commanded upon me ˹to establish˺ the prayer and ˹to give˺ alms-tax, that/for as long as I am alive,
19:31  And He has made me blessed where ever I am/ I may be and has commanded me to pray and give alms-tax, that as long as I am alive,31. Wa ja’alanee mubaarakan aina maa kuntu wa awsaanee bis Salaati waz Zakaati maa dumtu haiyaa
32. وَبَرًّا بِوَالِدَتِي وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِي جَبَّارًا شَقِيًّا
Wa Barrāan Biwālidatī Wa Lam Yaj`alnī Jabbārāan Shaqīyāan
19:32 and to be kind to my mother, and He has not made me arrogant or unblessed/ unfortunate.
32. Wa barram biwaalidatee wa lam yaj’alnee jabbaaran shaqiyyaa
33. وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَيَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدْتُ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّا
Wa As-Salāmu `Alayya Yawma Wulidtu Wa YawmaAmūtu Wa Yawma ‘Ub`athu Ĥayyāan
19:33  And peace be upon me the day I was born, and the day I will die, and the Day I will be raised alive/ back to life!
33. Wassalaamu ‘alaiya yawma wulidtu wa yawma amootu wa yawma ub’asu haiyaa
34. ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَ الْحَقِّ الَّذِي فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ
Dhālika `Īsá Abnu Maryama Qawla Al-Ĥaqqi Al-Ladhī Fīhi Yamtarūna
19:34  That is Jesus, son of Mary, ˹And this is˺ a statement/word of truth about which they dispute in it.

34. Zaalika ‘Eesab-nu Maryama; qawlal haqqil lazee feehi yamtaroon
35. مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ مِنْ وَلَدٍ ۖ سُبْحَانَهُ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
Kāna Lillahi An Yattakhidha Min Waladin Subĥānahu Idhā Qađá Amrāan Fa’innamā Yaqūlu Lahu Kun Fayakūnu
19:35 it is not for Allah that He should take any son. Glory be to Him! When He decrees a matter, then He only says to it, Be and it is (i.e., becomes).
35. Maa kaana lillaahi ai yattakhiza minw waladin Subhaanah; izaa qadaaa amran fa innamaa yaqoolu lahoo kun fa yakoon
36. وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
Wa ‘Inna Al-Laha Rabbī Wa Rabbukum Fā`budūhu Hādhā Şirāţun Mustaqīmun
19:36 “And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a Straight Path.”
36. Wa innal laaha Rabbee wa Rabbukum fa’budooh; haazaa Siraatum Mustaqeem
37. فَاخْتَلَفَ الْأَحْزَابُ مِنْ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ مَشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
Fākhtalafa Al-‘Aĥzābu Min Baynihim Fawaylun Lilladhīna Kafarū Min Mash/hadi Yawmin `Ažīmin
19:37 But the ˹various˺ groups differed from among themselves ˹about him˺, so woe to those who disbelieve from the witnessing of a great/ tremendous Day.
37. Fakhtalafal ahzaabu min bainihim fawailul lillazeena kafaroo min mashhadi Yawmin ‘azeem
38. أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا ۖ لَٰكِنِ الظَّالِمُونَ الْيَوْمَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ
Asmi` Bihim Wa ‘Abşir Yawma Ya’tūnanā Lakini Až-Žālimūna Al-Yawma Đalālin Mubīnin
19:38 How ˹clearly˺ will they hear with them and how ˹clearly will they˺ see on the Day they will come to Us, but today the wrongdoers are in clear error/ misguidance.
38. Asmi’ bihim wa absir Yawma ya’toonanaa laakiniz zaalimoonal yawma fee dalaalin mubeen
39. وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Wa ‘Andhirhum Yawma Al-Ĥasrati Idh Quđiya Al-‘Amru Wa Hum Fī Ghaflatin Wa Hum Yu’uminūna
19:39 And warn them ˹O Prophet˺ of the Day of the Regret, when the matter will be decided/ judged/ settled. And they are in heedlessness, and they do not believe.
39. Wa anzirhum Yawmal hasrati iz qudiyal amr; wa hum fee ghaflatinw wa hum laa yu’minoon
40. إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ الْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ
Innā Naĥnu Narithu Al-‘Arđa Wa Man `Alayhā Wa ‘Ilaynā Yurja`ūna
19:40 Indeed, We will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be returned.
40. Innaa nahnu narisul arda wa man ‘alaihaa wa ilainaa yurja’oon (section 2)
41. وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَبِيًّا
Wa Adhkur  Al-Kitābi Ibrāhīma Innahu Kāna Şiddīqāan Nabīyāan
19:41 And mention in the Book ˹O Prophet, the story of˺ Abraham. Indeed, he was a man of truth, and a Prophet.
41. Wazkur fil Kitaabi Ibraaheem; innahoo kaana siddeeqan Nabiyyaa
42. إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَا أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِي عَنْكَ شَيْئًا
Idh Qāla Li’abīhi Yā ‘Abati Lima Ta`budu Yasma`u Wa Lā Yubşiru Wa Lā Yughnī `Anka Shay’āan
19:42 When he said to his father, “O my father! Why do you worship what can neither hear and nor see and nor benefit to you at all/ in anything?
42. Iz qaala li abeehi yaaa abati lima ta’budu maa laa yasma’u wa laa yubsiru wa laa yughnee ‘anka shai’aa
43. يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي قَدْ جَاءَنِي مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَاتَّبِعْنِي أَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا
Yā ‘Abati Innī Qad Jā’anī Mina Al-`Ilmi Lam Ya’tika Fa Attabi`nī ‘Ahdika Şirāţāan Sawīyāan
19:43 O my father! Indeed there has come to me of the knowledge what/which has not come to you, so follow me; I will guide you to the Even/Straight Path.
43. Yaaa abati innee qad jaaa’anee minal ‘ilmi maa lam ya’tika fattabi’neee ahdika siraatan Sawiyyaa
44. يَا أَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ الشَّيْطَانَ ۖ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَصِيًّا
Yā ‘Abati Ta`budi Ash-ShayţānaInna Ash-Shayţāna Kāna Lilrraĥmani `Aşīyāan
19:44 O my father! Do not worship the Satan. Indeed, the Satan is ever disobedient/ rebellious to the Most Gracious/ Merciful.

44. Yaaa abati laa ta’budish Shaitaan; innash Shaitaana kaana lir Rahmaani ‘asiyyaa
45. يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌ مِنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَانِ وَلِيًّا
Yā ‘Abati Innī Akhāfu An Yamassaka `Adhābun Mina Ar-Raĥmāni Fatakūna Lilshshayţāni Walīyāan
19:45  O my father! Indeed, I fear that there will touch you/ you will be touched by a punishment from the Most Gracious/ Merciful, so you would be a companion to the Satan ˹in Hell˺.”

45. Yaaa abati innee akhaafu ai yamassaka ‘azaabum minar Rahmaani fatakoona lish Shaitaani waliyyaa
46. قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنْتَ عَنْ آلِهَتِي يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ ۖ لَئِنْ لَمْ تَنْتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖ وَاهْجُرْنِي مَلِيًّا
Qāla Arāghibun Anta `An Ālihatī Yā ‘Ibrāhīmu La’in Lam Tantahi La’arjumannaka Wa Ahjurnī Malīyāan
19:46 He said, “Are you rejecting/ turning away from my gods, O Abraham? Surely, if you do not desist, I will surely/certainly stone you ˹to death˺, so leave me for a long time.”

You have no interest in my gods,

“Do you reject in my gods,

Reject, no interest, no desire, unwilling, turning away, rejecting

19:46  He (i.e., father) said,Why abandoning you from my gods, O Abraham? Surely, if you do not desist, I will surely/certainly stone you ˹to death˺, so leave me for a prolonged time.”
46. Qaala araaghibun anta ‘an aalihatee yaaa Ibraaheemu la ‘il lam tantahi la arjumannaka wahjurnee maliyyaa
47. قَالَ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكَ ۖ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّي ۖ إِنَّهُ كَانَ بِي حَفِيًّا
Qāla Salāmun `Alayka Sa’astaghfiru Laka Rabbī Innahu Kāna Ĥafīyāan
19:47  He ˹Abraham˺ said,Peace be upon you. I will ask my Lord for your forgiveness. Indeed, He is Ever Gracious to me.

47. Qaala salaamun ‘alaika sa astaghfiru laka Rabbeee innahoo kaana bee hafiyyaa
48. وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَأَدْعُو رَبِّي عَسَىٰ أَلَّا أَكُونَ بِدُعَاءِ رَبِّي شَقِيًّا
Wa ‘A`tazilukum Wa Mā Tad`ūna Min Dūni Al-Lahi Wa ‘Ad`ū Rabbī `Asá Allā Akūna Bidu`ā’i Rabbī Shaqīyāan
19:48  And I will leave ˹all of˺ you and what you invoke/ call from besides Allah and I will ˹continue to˺ invoke/ call upon my Lord. May be/ Hopefully that I will never be unblessed/ disappointed in invoking/ calling upon my Lord.”
48. Wa a’tazilukum wa maa tad’oona min doonil laahi wa ad’oo Rabbee ‘asaaa allaaa akoona bidu’aaa’i Rabbee shaqiyyaa
49. فَلَمَّا اعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّا
Falammā A`tazalahum Wa Mā Ya`budūna Min Dūni Al-Lahi Wahabnā Lahu Isĥāqa Wa Ya`qūba Wa Kullā Ja`alnā Nabīyāan
19:49  So when he left them and what they worshipped from besides Allah, We granted to him Ishaq/Isaac and Yaqub/Jacob, and We made each of them a Prophet.
49. Fa lam ma’tazalahum wa maa ya’budoona min doonil laahi wahabnaa lahoo is-haaqa wa ya’qoob; wa kullan ja’alnaa Nabiyyaa
50. وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُمْ مِنْ رَحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّا
Wa Wahabnā Lahum Min Raĥmatinā Wa Ja`alnā Lahum Lisāna Şidqin `Alīyāan
19:50  And We granted to them of Our Mercy, and We made for them a mention of high honor.
50. Wa wahabnaa lahum mirrahmatinaa wa ja’alnaa lahum lisaana sidqin ‘aliyyaa (section 3)

19. Surah Maryam part 3

51. وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ مُوسَىٰ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ مُخْلَصًا وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَبِيًّا
Wa Adhkur Fī Al-Kitābi Mūsá Innahu Kāna Mukhlaşāan Wa Kāna Rasūlāan Nabīyāan
19:51 And mention in the Book ˹O Prophet, the story of˺ Moses. Indeed, he was chosen and was a Messenger, and a Prophet.
51. Wazkur fil Kitaabi Moosaaa; innahoo kaana mukhlasanw wa kaana Rasoolan Nabiyyaa
52. وَنَادَيْنَاهُ مِنْ جَانِبِ الطُّورِ الْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَاهُ نَجِيًّا
Wa Nādaynāhu Min Jānibi Aţ-Ţūri Al-‘Aymani Wa Qarrabnāhu Najīyāan
19:52 And We called him from the right side of the Mount Ṭûr, and brought him near for conversation/ private conversation.
52. Wa naadainaahu min jaanibit Tooril aimani wa qarrabnaahu najiyyaa
53. وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ مِنْ رَحْمَتِنَا أَخَاهُ هَارُونَ نَبِيًّا
Wa Wahabnā Lahu Min Raĥmatinā Akhāhu Hārūna Nabīyāan
19:53  And We granted to him out of Our Mercy his brother Aaron, as a Prophet.
53. Wa wahabnaa lahoo mir rahmatinaaa akhaahu Haaroona Nabiyyaa
54. وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صَادِقَ الْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًا نَبِيًّا
Wa Adhkur Fī Al-Kitābi ‘Ismā`īlaInnahu Kāna Şādiqa Al-Wa`di Wa Kāna Rasūlāan Nabīyāan
19:54  And mention in the Book, ˹O Prophet, the story of˺ Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to the promise and was a Messenger and a Prophet.

54. Wazkur fil Kitaabi ismaa’eel; innahoo kaana saadiqal wa’di wa kaana Rasoolan Nabiyyaa
55. وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ وَكَانَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِ مَرْضِيًّا
Wa Kāna Ya’muruAhlahu Biş-Şalāati Wa Az-Zakāati Wa Kāna `Inda Rabbihi Marđīyāan
19:55  And he used to urge his people to pray and give alms-taxes and ˹he˺ was pleasing near his Lord.

55. Wa kaana ya’muru ahlahoo bis Salaati waz zakaati wa kaana ‘inda Rabbihee mardiyyaa
56. وَاذْكُرْ فِي الْكِتَابِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ صِدِّيقًا نَبِيًّا
Wa Adhkur Al-KitābiIdrīsa Innahu Kāna Şiddīqāan Nabīyāan
19:56  And mention in the Book, ˹O Prophet, the story of˺ Enoch. Indeed, he was truthful/ man of truth, and a Prophet.
56. Wazkur fil Kitaabi Idrees; innahoo kaana siddeeqan Nabiyyaa
57. وَرَفَعْنَاهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا
Wa Rafa`nāhu Makānāan `Alīyāan
19:57 And We raised him to a high position.
57. Wa rafa’naahu makaanan ‘aliyyaa
58. أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ آدَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْرَائِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَاجْتَبَيْنَا ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُ الرَّحْمَٰنِ خَرُّوا سُجَّدًا وَبُكِيًّا ۩
‘Ūlā’ika Al-Ladhīna An`ama Al-Lahu `Alayhim Mina An-Nabīyīna Min Dhurrīyati Ādama Wa Mimman Ĥamalnā Ma`a Nūĥin Wa Min Dhurrīyati Ibrāhīma Wa ‘Isrā’īla Wa Mimman Hadaynā Wa Ajtabaynā Idhā Tutlá `Alayhim Āyātu Ar-Raĥmāni Kharrū Sujjadāan Wa Bukīyāan
19:58 Those were the ones whom Allah showered favor upon them from among the Prophets, of the descendants of Adam, and of those We carried with Noah ˹in the Ark˺, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel and of those whom We ˹rightly˺ guided and We chose. When the Verses/ Revelations of the Most Gracious/ Compassionate were recited to them, they fell down prostrating and weeping.

58. Ulaaa’ikal lazeena an’amal laahu ‘alaihim minan Nabiyyeena min zurriyyati Aadama wa mimman hamalnaa ma’a Noohinw wa min zurriyyati Ibraaheema wa Israaa’eela wa mimman hadainaa wajta bainaaa; izaa tutlaa ‘alaihim Aayaatur Rahmaani kharroo sujjadanw wa bukiyyaa (make sajda)
59. فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا
Fakhalafa Min Ba`dihim Khalfun ‘Ađā`ū Aş-Şalāata Wa Attaba`ū Ash-Shahawāti Fasawfa Yalqawna Ghayyāan
19:59 Then ˹they were˺ succeeded from after them ˹by˺ generations who neglected/ lost / wasted the prayer and they followed their lusts so they will soon meet evil/ misguidance

59. Fakhalafa min ba’dihim khalfun adaa’us Salaata wattaba’ush shahawaati fasawfa yalqawna ghaiyyaa
60. إِلَّا مَنْ تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا فَأُولَٰئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْئًا
Illā Man Tāba Wa ‘Āmana Wa `Amila Şāliĥāan Fa’ūlā’ika Yadkhulūna Al-Jannata Wa Lā Yužlamūna Shay’āan
19:60 Except the one who repent and believe and do good. Then those will enter the Paradise and they will not be wronged in anything.
60. Illaa man taaba wa aamana wa ‘amila saalihan fa ulaaa’ika yadkhuloonal jannata wa laa yuzlamoona shai’aa
61. جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ الَّتِي وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ عِبَادَهُ بِالْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّهُ كَانَ وَعْدُهُ مَأْتِيًّا
Jannāti `Adnin Allatī Wa`ada Ar-Raĥmānu `Ibādahu Bil-GhaybiInnahu Kāna Wa`duhu Ma’tīyāan
19:61 ˹They will be in˺ Gardens of Eden/Eternity, which the Most Gracious promised to His slaves/servants in the unseen. Indeed, His promise is/will be sure to come/ fulfilled.

61. Jannaati ‘adninil latee wa’adar Rahmaanu ibaadahoo bilghaib; innahoo kaana wa’duhoo ma’tiyyaa
62. لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَامًا ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةً وَعَشِيًّا
Yasma`ūna Fīhā Laghwan Illā Salāmāan Wa Lahum Rizquhum Fīhā Bukratan Wa `Ashīyāan
19:62 They will never hear in it vain/ idle talkbut ˹only greetings of˺ peace. And they will have their provision therein/ in it morning and evening.
62. Laa yasma’oona feehaa laghwan illaa salaamaa; wa lahum rizquhum feehaa bukratanw wa ‘ashiyyaa
63. تِلْكَ الْجَنَّةُ الَّتِي نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَنْ كَانَ تَقِيًّا
Tilka Al-Jannatu Allatī Nūrithu Min `Ibādinā Man Kāna Taqīyāan
19:63 This is the Paradise, which We give as inheritance to whoever/who is righteous among Our servants.

63. Tilkal jannatul latee noorisu min ‘ibaadinaa man kaana taqiyyaa
64. وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا
Wa Mā Natanazzalu Illā Bi’amri Rabbika Lahu Bayna Aydīnā Wa Mā Khalfanā Wa Mā Bayna Dhālika Wa Mā Kāna Rabbuka Nasīyāan
19:64  And we do not descend except by the Command of your Lord. To Him belongs whatever is between our hands (i.e., before us) and whatever is behind us, and whatever is between that. And your Lord is never/not forgetful.
64. Wa maa natanazzalu illaa bi amri Rabbika lahoo maa baina aideenaa wa maa khalfanaa wa maa baina zaalik; wa maa kaana Rabbuka nasiyyaa
65. رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَاعْبُدْهُ وَاصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَادَتِهِ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُ سَمِيًّا
Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Fā`bud/hu Wa Aşţabir Li`ibādatihi Hal Ta`lamu Lahu Samīyāan
19:65 ˹He is the˺ Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between both of them, so worship Him and be constant/ steadfast in His worship. Do you know of anyone equal to Him ˹in His attributes˺?

Do you know for Him any similarity?

65. Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa fa’bud hu wastabir li’ibaadatih; hal ta’lamu lahoo samiyyaa (section 4)
66. وَيَقُولُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَإِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا
Wa Yaqūlu Al-‘InsānuA’idhā Mittu Lasawfa Ukhraju Ĥayyāan
19:66 And the human being/ people says,When that I am dead, will I really be raised to life again?”

19:66 And the human being says,When that I am dead, surely will I be brought forth alive?”

“After I die, will I really be raised to life again?”
66. Wa yaqoolul insaanu ‘a izaa maa mittu lasawfa ukhraju haiyaa
67. أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْئًا
Awalā Yadhkuru Al-‘InsānuAnnā Khalaqnāhu Min Qablu Wa Lam Yaku Shay’āan
19:67 Does the human being/ people not remember that We created him from before, while he was not anything?
67. ‘A wa laa yazkurul insaanu annaa khalaqnaahu min qablu wa lam yaku shai’aa
68. فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَالشَّيَاطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّا
Fawarabbika Lanaĥshurannahum Wa Ash-Shayāţīna Thumma Lanuĥđirannahum Ĥawla Jahannama Jithīyāan
19:68 So by your Lord ˹O Prophet˺! surely, We will gather them and the devils, then surely, We will bring them around Hell on their knees.
68. Fawa Rabbika lanahshu rannahum wash shayaateena summa lanuhdirannahum hawla jahannama jisiyyaa
69. ثُمَّ لَنَنْزِعَنَّ مِنْ كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى الرَّحْمَٰنِ عِتِيًّا
Thumma Lananzi`anna Min Kulli Shī`atinAyyuhum Ashaddu `Alá Ar-Raĥmāni `Itīyāan
19:69  Then surely, We will drag out of every group, those of them who were most rebellious/ defiant against the Most Gracious/ Compassionate
69. Summa lanan zi’anna min kulli shee’atin aiyuhum ashaddu ‘alar Rahmaani ‘itiyyaa
70. ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِالَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّا
Thumma Lanaĥnu ‘A`lamu Bial-Ladhīna Hum Awlá Bihā Şilīyāan
19:70  Then, We surely/ truly know best of those whothey are most worthy/ deserving of being burnt in it
70. Summa lanahnu a’lamu billazeena hum awlaa bihaa siliyyaa
71. وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًا مَقْضِيًّا
Wa ‘In Minkum Illā Wa Ariduhā Kāna `Alá Rabbika Ĥatmāan Maqđīyāan
19:71 And there is none of you except/ who will not pass over it. This is an absolute decree from your Lord.

This is upon/by/from your Lord an inevitability/absolute decree.

19:71 And there is not any of you but/ except will pass over it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed
71. Wa in minkum illaa waariduhaa; kaana ‘alaa Rabbika hatmam maqdiyyaa
72. ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا وَنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا
Thumma Nunajjī Al-Ladhīna Attaqaw Wa Nadharu Až-Žālimīna Fīhā Jithīyāan
19:72 Then We will save those who feared ˹Allah˺, and We will leave the wrongdoers in it on their knees.
72. Summa nunajjil lazeenat taqaw wa nazaruz zaalimeena feehaa jisiyyaa
73. وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتُنَا بَيِّنَاتٍ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَيُّ الْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌ مَقَامًا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّا
Wa ‘Idhā Tutlá `Alayhim Āyātunā Bayyinātin Qāla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lilladhīna Āmanū Ayyu Al-Farīqayni Khayrun Maqāmāan Wa ‘Aĥsanu Nadīyāan
19:73  And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, those who disbelieved say to those who believed, “Which of the two groups (i.e., your or ours) is better in position and best in assembly (i.e., gathering)?”
73. Wa izaa tutlaa ‘alaihim Aayaatunaa baiyinaatin qaalal lazeena kafaroo lillazeena aamanooo aiyul fareeqaini khairum maqaamanw wa ahsanu nadiyyaa
74. وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَاثًا وَرِئْيًا
Wa KamAhlaknā Qablahum Min Qarnin HumAĥsanu Athāthāan Wa Ri’yāan
19:74  And how many of a generation We destroyed before them they were better in possessions and ˹outward˺ appearance?
74. Wa kam ahlaknaa qablahum min qarnin hum ahsanu asaasanw wa ri’yaa
75. قُلْ مَنْ كَانَ فِي الضَّلَالَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ مَدًّا ۚ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا رَأَوْا مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا الْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا السَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّ مَكَانًا وَأَضْعَفُ جُنْدًا
Qul Man Kāna  Ađ-Đalālati Falyamdud Lahu Ar-Raĥmānu Maddāan Ĥattá Idhā Ra’aw Yū`adūnaImmā Al-`Adhāba Wa ‘Immā As-Sā`ata Fasaya`lamūna Man Huwa Sharrun Makānāan Wa ‘Ađ`afu Jundāan
19:75  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Whoever is in misguidance, let the Most Gracious extend for him an extension, until when they see what they were promised, either the punishment or the Hour, then they will know who is worst in position and weaker in forces (i.e., manpower).”

75. Qul man kaana fidda laalati falyamdud lahur Rahmaanu maddaa; hattaaa izaa ra aw maa yoo’adoona immal ‘azaaba wa immas Saa’ata fasa ya’lamoona man huwa sharrum makaananw wa ad’afu jundaa

19. Surah Maryam

76. وَيَزِيدُ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ اهْتَدَوْا هُدًى ۗ وَالْبَاقِيَاتُ الصَّالِحَاتُ خَيْرٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًا وَخَيْرٌ مَرَدًّا
Wa Yazīdu Al-Lahu Al-Ladhīna Ahtadaw Hudáan Wa Al-Bāqiyātu Aş-Şāliĥātu Khayrun `Inda Rabbika Thawābāan Wa Khayrun Maraddāan
19:76  And Allah increases in guidance those who are ˹rightly˺ guidance. And the everlasting good deeds are better near/with your Lord in reward and better in return.

76. Wa yazeedul laahul lazeenah tadaw hudaa; wal baaqiyaatus saalihaatu khairun ‘inda Rabbika sawaabanw wa khairum maraddaa
77. أَفَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي كَفَرَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًا وَوَلَدًا
Afara’ayta Al-Ladhī Kafara Bi’āyātinā Wa Qāla La’ūtayanna Mālāan Wa Waladāan
19:77 Then, have you seen ˹O Prophet˺ the one who disbelieved in Our Verses, and said,Surely, I will be given ˹plenty of˺ wealth and children ˹in the afterlife˺ (i.e., in the afterlife)?
77. Afara’aytal lazee kafara bi Aayaatinaa wa qaala la oota yanna maalanw wa waladaa
78. أَطَّلَعَ الْغَيْبَ أَمِ اتَّخَذَ عِنْدَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا
‘Āţţala`a Al-GhaybaAm Attakhadha `Inda Ar-Raĥmāni `Ahdāan
19:78  Has he looked into the unseen, or has he taken a pledge from the Most Merciful?
78. ‘At tala’al ghaiba ‘amit takhaza ‘indar Rahmaani ‘ahdaa
79. كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ مَدًّا
Kallā Sanaktubu Yaqūlu Wa Namuddu Lahu Mina Al-`Adhābi Maddāan
19:79 Not at all/ No, We will record what he says, and We will extend for him from the punishment extensively.
79. Kallaa; sanaktubu maa yaqoolu wa namuddu lahoo minal ‘azaabi maddaa
80. وَنَرِثُهُ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًا
Wa Narithuhu Yaqūlu Wa Ya’tīnā Fardāan
19:80  And We will inherit from him what he talks about, and he will come to Us alone.
80. Wa narisuhoo maa yaqoolu wa ya’teenaa fardaa
81. وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لِيَكُونُوا لَهُمْ عِزًّا
Wa Attakhadhū Min Dūni Al-Lahi Ālihatan Liyakūnū Lahum `Izzāan
19:81  And they have taken gods from instead of/ besides/ other then Allah, so that they maybe an honor for them.
81. Wattakhazoo min doonil laahi aalihatal liyakoonoo lahum ‘izzaa
82. كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا
Kallā Sayakfurūna Bi`ibādatihim Wa Yakūnūna `Alayhim Điddāan
19:82  But No, those ˹gods˺ will deny their worship of them and they will be opponents against them.

82. Kallaa; sa yakfuroona bi’ibaadatihim wa yakoonoona ‘alaihim diddaa (section 5)No! Those “gods” will deny their worship of them and will be against them opponents [on the Day of Judgement] But no! Those ˹gods˺ will deny their worship and turn against them. 
83. أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا الشَّيَاطِينَ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّا
Alam Tara Annā Arsalnā Ash-Shayāţīna `Alá Al-Kāfirīna Ta’uuzzuhum Azzāan
19:83 Do you ˹O Prophet˺ not see, that We have sent the devils against the disbelievers, inciting/provoking them ˹to do evil˺ with ˹constant˺ incitement/provocation.
83. Alam tara annaaa arsalnash Shayaateena ‘alal kaafireena ta’uzzuhum azzaa
84. فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّا
Falā Ta`jal `Alayhim Innamā Na`uddu Lahum `Addāan
19:84  So do not be in hurry against them. For indeed We are counting for them a number.

19:84  So do not make haste/rush/hurry against them. only We count for them a number.
84. Falaa ta’jal alaihim innamaa na ‘uddu lahum ‘addaa So do not be in haste against them, for indeed We are ˹closely˺ counting down their days. 
85. يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ الْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى الرَّحْمَٰنِ وَفْدًا
Yawma Naĥshuru Al-MuttaqīnaIlá Ar-Raĥmāni Wafdāan
19:85 the Day ˹on which˺ We will gather the righteous before the Most Gracious as ˹an honored˺ delegation,
85. Yawma nahshurul muttaqeena ilar Rahmaani wafdaa
86. وَنَسُوقُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًا
Wa Nasūqu Al-Mujrimīna Ilá Jahannama Wirdāan
19:86  and We will drive the criminals to Hell, thirsty.

19:86  and We will drive the criminals to Hell ˹in a˺ thirsty ˹state˺.

19:86  and We will drive the criminals to Hell ˹like a˺ thirsty ˹herd˺.
86. Wa nasooqul mujrimeena ilaa Jahannama wirdaa
87. لَا يَمْلِكُونَ الشَّفَاعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ اتَّخَذَ عِنْدَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًا
Yamlikūna Ash-Shafā`ataIllā Mani Attakhadha `Inda Ar-Raĥmāni `Ahdāan
19:87 None will have the power to intercede except those who has taken a covenant from the Most Gracious.

19:87  they will have no power to intercede except those who has taken a covenant from the Most Gracious.
87. Laa yamlikoonash shafaa’ata illaa manittakhaza ‘indar Rahmaani ‘ahdaa
88. وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا
Wa Qālū Attakhadha Ar-Raĥmānu Waladāan
19:88 And they say, The Most Gracious has taken a son (i.e., an offspring).

19:88 And they say, The Most Gracious has taken an offspring (i.e., a son).
88. Wa qaalut takhazar Rahmaanu waladaa
89. لَقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْئًا إِدًّا
Laqad Ji’tum Shay’āan Iddāan
19:89  Indeed, you have come up with a terrible thing.
89. Laqad ji’tum shai’an iddaa
90. تَكَادُ السَّمَاوَاتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنْشَقُّ الْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ الْجِبَالُ هَدًّا
Takādu As-Samāwātu Yatafaţţarna Minhu Wa Tanshaqqu Al-‘Arđu Wa Takhirru Al-Jibālu Haddāan
19:90  from it the heavens are about to get torn, and the earth to split apart and the mountain to fall down crumbling (i.e., into pieces)
90. Takaadus samaawaatu yatafattarna minhu wa tanshaq qul ardu wa takhirrul jibaalu haddaa
91. أَنْ دَعَوْا لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَلَدًا
An Da`aw Lilrraĥmani Waladāan
19:91  That they attribute a son to the Most Gracious.
91. An da’aw lir Rahmaani waladaa
92. وَمَا يَنْبَغِي لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَنْ يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا
Wa Mā Yanbaghī Lilrraĥmani An Yattakhidha Waladāan
19:92  And it does not befit ˹the majesty˺ of the Most Gracious that He should take a son.
92. Wa maa yambaghee lir Rahmaani ai yattakhiza waladaa
93. إِنْ كُلُّ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِلَّا آتِي الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَبْدًا
In Kullu Man Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘ArđiIllā Ātī Ar-Raĥmāni `Abdāan
19:93 There is no ˹one at˺ all who is in the heavens and the earth but it will come to the Most Gracious as/in a servant/ full submission.

19:93  Not all who (are) in the heavens and the earth but will come to the Most Gracious as a servant.

93. In kullu man fis samaawaati wal ardi illaaa aatir Rahmaani ‘abdaa
94. لَقَدْ أَحْصَاهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّا
Laqad Aĥşāhum Wa `Addahum `Addāan
19:94  Verily, He has numbered them and counted them with precise counting.

19:94  Verily, He has full account of them and counted them with precise counting.
94. Laqad ahsaahum wa addahum ‘addaa
95. وَكُلُّهُمْ آتِيهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَرْدًا
Wa KulluhumĀtīhi Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Fardāan
19:95  And each of them will come to Him on the Day of the Resurrection/Judgement all alone.
95. Wa kulluhum aateehi Yawmal Qiyaamati fardaa
96. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وُدًّا
Inna Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Sayaj`alu Lahumu Ar-Raĥmānu Wuddāan
19:96  Indeed, those who believe and do good deeds, the Most Gracious will bless/ appoint/ give for them love.

19:96  Indeed, those who believe and do good deeds, the Most Gracious will bless/create/give/ make/ appoint love for them.
96. Innal lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati sa yaj’alu lahumur Rahmaanu wuddaa
97. فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَاهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ الْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنْذِرَ بِهِ قَوْمًا لُدًّا
Fa’innamā Yassarnāhu Bilisānika Litubashshira Bihi Al-Muttaqīna Wa Tundhira Bihi Qawmāan Luddāan
19:97 So indeed ˹O Prophet˺, We have made this ˹Quran˺ easy in your language (i.e., Arabic), so that with it you may give good news to the righteous and warn with it the hostile/ most quarrelsome people.
97. Fa innamaa yassarnaahu bilisaanika litubashshira bihil muttaqeena wa tunzira bihee qawmal luddaa
98. وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًا
Wa Kam Ahlaknā Qablahum Min Qarnin Hal Tuĥissu Minhum Min Aĥadin Aw Tasma`u Lahum Rikzāan
19:98  And how many of a generation We have destroyed before them? Can you ˹still˺ sense/see/feel (i.e., the existence of) any one of them or ˹even˺ hear from them the slightest sound?
98. Wa kam ahlaknaa qabla hum min qarnin hal tuhissu minhum min ahadin aw tasma’u lahum rikzaa (section 6)
