1. اقْتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمْ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مُعْرِضُونَ
Aqtaraba Lilnnāsi Ĥisābuhum Wa Hum Fī Ghaflatin Mu`riđūna
21:1 ˹The time of˺ judgment/accounting for people has come near, yet they are in heedlessness (i.e., neglect) turning away.
21:1 ˹The time of˺ people’s judgment/accounting has come near, yet they are in heedlessness (i.e., neglect) turning away.
21:1 (Has) approached for [the] mankind their account, while they (are) in heedlessness turning away.
1. Iqtaraba linnaasi hisaabuhum wa hum fee ghaflatim mu’ridoon
2. مَا يَأْتِيهِمْ مِنْ ذِكْرٍ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا اسْتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
Mā Ya’tīhim Min Dhikrin Min Rabbihim Muĥdathin ‘Illā Astama`ūhu Wa Hum Yal`abūna
21:2 Whatever new of a Reminder comes to them from their Lord, they only listen to it while they are playing
2. Maa ya’teehim min zikrim mir Rabbihim muhdasin illas tama’oohu wa hum yal’aboon
3. لَاهِيَةً قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّجْوَى الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا هَلْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ ۖ أَفَتَأْتُونَ السِّحْرَ وَأَنْتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ
Lāhiyatan Qulūbuhum Wa ‘Asarrū An-Najwá Al-Ladhīna Žalamū Hal Hādhā ‘Illā Basharun Mithlukum ‘Afata’tūna As-Siĥra Wa ‘Antum Tubşirūna
21:3 with their hearts distracted. And they conceal the private conversation, those who wronged, “Is this except a human being like you? So would you approach the magic while you see (it)?” with their hearts ˹totally˺ distracted. The evildoers would converse secretly, ˹saying,˺ “Is this ˹one˺ not human like yourselves? Would you fall for ˹this˺ witchcraft, even though you can ˹clearly˺ see?”
And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], “Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?”
3. Laahiyatan quloobuhum; wa asarrun najwal lazeena zalamoo hal haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum ‘afa ta’toonas sihra wa antum tubsiroon
4. قَالَ رَبِّي يَعْلَمُ الْقَوْلَ فِي السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Qāla Rabbī Ya`lamu Al-Qawla Fī As-Samā’i Wa Al-‘Arđi Wa Huwa As-Samī`u Al-`Alīmu
21:4 He said, “My Lord knows the word in the heavens and the earth. And He (is) the All-Hearer, the All-Knower.“
4. Qaala Rabbee ya’lamul qawla fis samaaa’i wal ardi wa Huwas Samee’ul ‘Aleem
5. بَلْ قَالُوا أَضْغَاثُ أَحْلَامٍ بَلِ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ شَاعِرٌ فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِآيَةٍ كَمَا أُرْسِلَ الْأَوَّلُونَ
Bal Qālū ‘Ađghāthu ‘Aĥlāmin Bal Aftarāhu Bal Huwa Shā`irun Falya’tinā Bi’āyatin Kamā ‘Ursila Al-‘Awwalūna
21:5 Nay, they say, “Muddled dreams; nay, he (has) invented it; nay, he (is) a poet. So let him bring us a sign like what was sent (to) the former.”
5. Bal qaalooo adghaasu ahlaamin bal iftaraahu bal huwa shaa’irun fal ya’tinaa bi Aayatin kamaa ursilal awwaloon
6. مَا آمَنَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا ۖ أَفَهُمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Mā ‘Āmanat Qablahum Min Qaryatin ‘Ahlaknāhā ‘Afahum Yu’uminūna
21:6 Not believed before them any town which We destroyed, so will they believe?
6. Maaa aaamanat qablahum min qaryatin ahlaknaahaa a-fahum yu’minoon
7. وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالًا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِمْ ۖ فَاسْأَلُوا أَهْلَ الذِّكْرِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
Wa Mā ‘Arsalnā Qablaka ‘Illā Rijālāan Nūĥī ‘Ilayhim Fās’alū ‘Ahla Adh-Dhikri ‘In Kuntum Lā Ta`lamūna
21:7 And not We sent before you except men, We revealed to them. So ask (the) people (of) the Reminder, if you (do) not know.
7. Wa maaa arsalnaa qablaka illaa rijaalan nooheee ilaihim fas’aloo ahlaz zikri in kuntum laa ta’lamoon
8. وَمَا جَعَلْنَاهُمْ جَسَدًا لَا يَأْكُلُونَ الطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُوا خَالِدِينَ
Wa Mā Ja`alnāhum Jasadāan Lā Ya’kulūna Aţ-Ţa`āma Wa Mā Kānū Khālidīna
21:8 And not We made them bodies not eating the food, and not they were immortals.
8. Wa maa ja’alnaahum jasadal laa ya’kuloonat ta’aama wa maa kaanoo khaalideen
9. ثُمَّ صَدَقْنَاهُمُ الْوَعْدَ فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُمْ وَمَنْ نَشَاءُ وَأَهْلَكْنَا الْمُسْرِفِينَ
Thumma Şadaqnāhumu Al-Wa`da Fa’anjaynāhum Wa Man Nashā’u Wa ‘Ahlaknā Al-Musrifīna
21:9 Then We fulfilled (for) them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed, and We destroyed the transgressors.
9. Summa sadaqnaa humul wa’da fa-anjainaahum wa man nashaaa’u wa ahlaknal musrifeen
10. لَقَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكُمْ كِتَابًا فِيهِ ذِكْرُكُمْ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Laqad ‘Anzalnā ‘Ilaykum Kitābāan Fīhi Dhikrukum ‘Afalā Ta`qilūna
21:10 Indeed, We (have) sent down to you a Book in it (is) your mention. Then will not you use reason?
10. Laqad anzalnaaa ilaikum Kitaaban feehi zikrukum afalaa ta’qiloon (Section 1)
11. وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةً وَأَنْشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا آخَرِينَ
Wa Kam Qaşamnā Min Qaryatin Kānat Žālimatan Wa ‘Ansha’nā Ba`dahā Qawmāan ‘Ākharīna
21:11 And how many We (have) shattered of a town (that) was unjust, and We produced after them people another.
11. Wa kam qasamnaa min qaryatin kaanat zaalimatanw wa ansha’ naa ba’dahaa qawman aakhareen
12. فَلَمَّا أَحَسُّوا بَأْسَنَا إِذَا هُمْ مِنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ
Falammā ‘Aĥassū Ba’sanā ‘Idhā Hum Minhā Yarkuđūna
21:12 Then when they perceived Our torment, behold, they from it were fleeing.
12. Falammaaa ahassoo ba’sanaaa izaa hum minhaa yarkudoon
13. لَا تَرْكُضُوا وَارْجِعُوا إِلَىٰ مَا أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَاكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْأَلُونَ
Lā Tarkuđū Wa Arji`ū ‘Ilá Mā ‘Utriftum Fīhi Wa Masākinikum La`allakum Tus’alūna
21:13 Not flee but return to what you were given luxury in it and to your homes, so that you may be questioned.
13. Laa tarkudoo warji’ooo ilaa maaa utriftum feehi wa masaakinikum la’allakum tus’aloon
14. قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
Qālū Yā Waylanā ‘Innā Kunnā Žālimīna
21:14 They said, “O woe to us! Indeed, [we] we were wrongdoers.”
14. Qaaloo yaa wailanaaa innaa kunnaa zaalimeen
15. فَمَا زَالَتْ تِلْكَ دَعْوَاهُمْ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلْنَاهُمْ حَصِيدًا خَامِدِينَ
Famā Zālat Tilka Da`wāhum Ĥattá Ja`alnāhum Ĥaşīdāan Khāmidīna
21:15 Then not ceased [this] their cry until We made them reaped extinct.
15. Famaa zaalat tilka da’waahum hattaa ja’alnaahum haseedan khaamideen
16. وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ
Wa Mā Khalaqnā As-Samā’a Wa Al-‘Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā Lā`ibīna
21:16 And not We created the heavens and the earth and what (is) between them (for) playing.
16. Wa maa khalaqnas samaaa’a wal arda wa maa bainahumaa laa’ibeen
17. لَوْ أَرَدْنَا أَنْ نَتَّخِذَ لَهْوًا لَاتَّخَذْنَاهُ مِنْ لَدُنَّا إِنْ كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ
Law ‘Aradnā ‘An Nattakhidha Lahwan Lāttakhadhnāhu Min Ladunnā ‘In Kunnā Fā`ilīna
21:17 If We intended that We take a pastime, surely We (could have) taken it from Us, if We were doers.
17. Law aradnaaa an nattakhiza lahwal lat takhaznaahu mil ladunnaaa in kunnaa faa’ileen
18. بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ ۚ وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
Bal Naqdhifu Bil-Ĥaqqi `Alá Al-Bāţili Fayadmaghuhu Fa’idhā Huwa Zāhiqun Wa Lakumu Al-Waylu Mimmā Taşifūna
21:18 Nay, We hurl the truth against [the] falsehood, and it breaks its head, behold, it (is) vanishing. And for you (is) destruction for what you ascribe.
18. Bal naqzifu bilhaqqi ‘alal baatili fa yadmaghuhoo fa izaa huwa zaahiq; wa lakumul wailu mimmaa tasifoon
19. وَلَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ وَمَنْ عِنْدَهُ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ
Wa Lahu Man Fī As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Wa Man `Indahu Lā Yastakbirūna `An `Ibādatihi Wa Lā Yastaĥsirūna
21:19 And to Him (belongs) whoever (is) in the heavens and the earth. And (those) who (are) near Him not they are arrogant to worship Him and not they tire.
19. Wa lahoo man fis samaawaati wal ard; wa man ‘indahoo laa yastakbiroona ‘an ‘ibaada tihee wa laa yastahsiroon
20. يُسَبِّحُونَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ
Yusabbiĥūna Al-Layla Wa An-Nahāra Lā Yafturūna
21:20 They glorify (Him) [the] night and [the] day, not they slacken.
20. Yusabbihoona laila wannahaara laa yafturoon
21. أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا آلِهَةً مِنَ الْأَرْضِ هُمْ يُنْشِرُونَ
‘Am Attakhadhū ‘Ālihatan Mina Al-‘Arđi Hum Yunshirūna
21:21 Or (have) they taken gods from the earth, they raise (the dead)?
21. Amit takhazooo aalihatam minal ardi hum yunshiroon
22. لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَا آلِهَةٌ إِلَّا اللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا ۚ فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Law Kāna Fīhimā ‘Ālihatun ‘Illā Al-Lahu Lafasadatā Fasubĥāna Al-Lahi Rabbi Al-`Arshi `Ammā Yaşifūna
21:22 If (there) were in both of them gods besides Allah, surely they (would) have been ruined. So glorified (is) Allah, Lord (of) the Throne (above) what they attribute.
22. Law kaana feehimaaa aalihatun illal laahu lafasadataa; fa-Subhaanal laahi Rabbil ‘Arshi ‘ammaa yasifoon
23. لَا يُسْأَلُ عَمَّا يَفْعَلُ وَهُمْ يُسْأَلُونَ
Lā Yus’alu `Ammā Yaf`alu Wa Hum Yus’alūna
21:23 Not He (can) be questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.
23. Laa yus’alu ‘ammaa yaf’alu wa hum yus’aloon
24. أَمِ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً ۖ قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ ۖ هَٰذَا ذِكْرُ مَنْ مَعِيَ وَذِكْرُ مَنْ قَبْلِي ۗ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ الْحَقَّ ۖ فَهُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ
‘Am Attakhadhū Min Dūnihi ‘Ālihatan Qul Hātū Burhānakum Hādhā Dhikru Man Ma`iya Wa Dhikru Man Qablī Bal ‘Aktharuhum Lā Ya`lamūna Al-Ĥaqqa Fahum Mu`riđūna
21:24 Or (have) they taken from besides Him gods? Say, “Bring your proof. This (is) a Reminder (for those) who (are) with me, and a Reminder (for those) who (were) before me.” But most of them (do) not know the truth so they (are) averse.
24. Amit takhazoo min doonihee aalihatan qul haatoo burhaanakum haaza zikru mam ma’iya wa zikru man qablee; bal aksaruhum laa ya’lamoonal haqqa fahum mu’ridoon
25. وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ مِنْ رَسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدُونِ
Wa Mā ‘Arsalnā Min Qablika Min Rasūl ‘Iin illā Nūĥī ‘Ilayhi ‘Annahu Lā ‘Ilāha ‘Illā ‘Anā Fā`budūni
21:25 And not We sent from before you any Messenger but We reveal(ed) to him that [He], “(There is) no god except Me so worship Me.”
25. Wa maaa arsalnaa min qablika mir Rasoolin illaa nooheee ilaihi annahoo laaa ilaaha illaaa Ana fa’budoon
26. وَقَالُوا اتَّخَذَ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًا ۗ سُبْحَانَهُ ۚ بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُكْرَمُونَ
Wa Qālū Attakhadha Ar-Raĥmānu Waladāan Subĥānahu Bal `Ibādun Mukramūna
21:26 And they say, “Has taken the Most Gracious a son.” Glorified is He! Nay, (they are) slaves honored.
26. Wa qaalut takhazar Rahmaanu waladaa; Subhaanahu bal ‘ibaadum mukramoon
27. لَا يَسْبِقُونَهُ بِالْقَوْلِ وَهُمْ بِأَمْرِهِ يَعْمَلُونَ
Lā Yasbiqūnahu Bil-Qawli Wa Hum Bi’amrihi Ya`malūna
21:27 Not they (can) precede Him in word, and they by His command act.
27. Laa yasbiqoonahoo bil qawli wa hum bi amrihee ya’maloon
28. يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يَشْفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ارْتَضَىٰ وَهُمْ مِنْ خَشْيَتِهِ مُشْفِقُونَ
Ya`lamu Mā Bayna ‘Aydīhim Wa Mā Khalfahum Wa Lā Yashfa`ūna ‘Illā Limani Artađá Wa Hum Min Khashyatihi Mushfiqūna
21:28 He knows what (is) between their hands and what (is) behind them, and not they (can) intercede except for whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, stand in awe.
28. Ya’lamu maa baina aideehim wa maa khalfahum wa laa yashfa’oona illaa limanir tadaa wa hum min khash yatihee mushfiqoon
29. وَمَنْ يَقُلْ مِنْهُمْ إِنِّي إِلَٰهٌ مِنْ دُونِهِ فَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ
Wa Man Yaqul Minhum ‘Innī ‘Ilahun Min Dūnihi Fadhālika Najzīhi Jahannama Kadhālika Najzī Až-Žālimīna
21:29 And whoever says of them, “Indeed, I am a god from besides Him.” Then that We will recompense (with) Hell. Thus We recompense the wrongdoers.
29. Wa mai yaqul minhum inneee ilaahum min doonihee fazaalika najzeehi Jahannam; kazaalika najziz zaalimeen (section 2)
30. أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
‘Awalam Yará Al-Ladhīna Kafarū ‘Anna As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđa Kānatā Ratqāan Fafataqnāhumā Wa Ja`alnā Mina Al-Mā’i Kulla Shay’in Ĥayyin ‘Afalā Yu’uminūna
21:30 Do not see those who disbelieved that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, then We parted them and We made from [the] water every thing living Then will not they believe?
30. Awalam yaral lazeena kafarooo annas samaawaati wal arda kaanataa ratqan fafataqnaa humaa wa ja’alnaa minal maaa’i kulla shai’in haiyin afalaa yu’minoon
31. وَجَعَلْنَا فِي الْأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ أَنْ تَمِيدَ بِهِمْ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجًا سُبُلًا لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
Wa Ja`alnā Fī Al-‘Arđi Rawāsiya ‘An Tamīda Bihim Wa Ja`alnā Fīhā Fijājāan Subulāan La`allahum Yahtadūna
21:31 And We (have) placed in the earth firmly set mountains, lest it (should) shake with them, and We made therein broad passes (as) ways, so that they may (be) guided.
31. Wa ja’alnaa fil ardi rawaasiya an tameeda bihim wa ja’alnaa feehaa fijaajan subulal la’allahum yahtadoon
32. وَجَعَلْنَا السَّمَاءَ سَقْفًا مَحْفُوظًا ۖ وَهُمْ عَنْ آيَاتِهَا مُعْرِضُونَ
Wa Ja`alnā As-Samā’a Saqfāan Maĥfūžāan Wa Hum `An ‘Āyātihā Mu`riđūna
21:32 And We made the sky a roof protected. But they, from its Signs, turn away.
32. Wa ja’alnas samaaa’a saqfam mahfoozanw wa hum ‘an Aayaatihaa mu’ridoon
33. وَهُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Khalaqa Al-Layla Wa An-Nahāra Wa Ash-Shamsa Wa Al-Qamara Kullun Fī Falakin Yasbaĥūna
21:33 And He (is) the One Who created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon; each in an orbit floating.
33. Wa Huwal lazee khalaqal laila wannahaara washshamsa wal qamara kullun fee falakiny yasbahoon
34. وَمَا جَعَلْنَا لِبَشَرٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ الْخُلْدَ ۖ أَفَإِنْ مِتَّ فَهُمُ الْخَالِدُونَ
Wa Mā Ja`alnā Libasharin Min Qablika Al-Khulda ‘Afa’īn Mitta Fahumu Al-Khālidūna
21:34 And not We made for any man from before you [the] immortality; so if you die, then (would) they live forever?
34. Wa maa ja’alnaa libasharim min qablikal khuld; afa immitta fahumul khaalidoon
35. كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَنَبْلُوكُمْ بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً ۖ وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ
Kullu Nafsin Dhā’iqatu Al-Mawti Wa Nablūkum Bish-Sharri Wa Al-Khayri Fitnatan Wa ‘Ilaynā Turja`ūna
21:35 Every soul (will) taste [the] death. And We test you with [the] bad and [the] good (as) a trial; and to Us you will be returned.
35. Kullu nafsin zaaa’iqatul mawt; wa nablookum bi sharri walkhairi fitnatanw wa ilainaa turja’oon
36. وَإِذَا رَآكَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِنْ يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا الَّذِي يَذْكُرُ آلِهَتَكُمْ وَهُمْ بِذِكْرِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَ
Wa ‘Idhā Ra’āka Al-Ladhīna Kafarū ‘In Yattakhidhūnaka ‘Illā Huzūan ‘Ahadhā Al-Ladhī Yadhkuru ‘Ālihatakum Wa Hum Bidhikri Ar-Raĥmāni Hum Kāfirūna
21:36 And when they see you, those who disbelieve not they take you except (in) ridicule, “Is this the one who mentions your gods?” And they at (the) mention (of) the Most Gracious [they] (are) disbelievers.
36. Wa izaa ra aakal lazeena kafarooo iny-yattakhizoonaka illa huzuwan; ahaazal lazee yazkuru aalihatakum wa hum bi zikrir Rahmaani hum kaafiroon
37. خُلِقَ الْإِنْسَانُ مِنْ عَجَلٍ ۚ سَأُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِي فَلَا تَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
Khuliqa Al-‘Insānu Min `Ajalin Sa’urīkum ‘Āyātī Falā Tasta`jilūni
21:37 Is created the man of haste. I will show you My Signs so (do) not ask Me to hasten.
37. Khuliqal insaanu min ‘ajal; sa ureekum Aayaatee falaa tasta’jiloon
38. وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
Wa Yaqūlūna Matá Hādhā Al-Wa`du ‘In Kuntum Şādiqīna
21:38 And they say, “When (will be fulfilled) this promise, if you are truthful?”
38. Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal wa’du in kuntum saadiqeen
39. لَوْ يَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَنْ وُجُوهِهِمُ النَّارَ وَلَا عَنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْصَرُونَ
Law Ya`lamu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Ĥīna Lā Yakuffūna `An Wujūhihimu An-Nāra Wa Lā `An Žuhūrihim Wa Lā Hum Yunşarūna
21:39 If knew those who disbelieved (the) time (when) not they will avert from their faces the Fire and not from their backs and not they will be helped!
39. Law ya’lamul lazeena kafaroo heena laa yakuffoona ‘anw wujoohihimun Naara wa laa ‘an zuhoorihim wa laa hum yunsaroon
40. بَلْ تَأْتِيهِمْ بَغْتَةً فَتَبْهَتُهُمْ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمْ يُنْظَرُونَ
Bal Ta’tīhim Baghtatan Fatabhatuhum Falā Yastaţī`ūna Raddahā Wa Lā Hum Yunžarūna
21:40 Nay, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, then not they will be able to repel it, and not they will be given respite.
40. Bal ta’teehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum falaa yastatee’oona raddahaa wa laa hum yunzaroon
41. وَلَقَدِ اسْتُهْزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِينَ سَخِرُوا مِنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
Wa Laqadi Astuhzi’a Birusulin Min Qablika Faĥāqa Bial-Ladhīna Sakhirū Minhum Mā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi’ūn
21:41 And verily, were mocked Messengers from before you then surrounded those who mocked from them what they used at it (to) mock.
41. Wa laqadis tuhzi’a bi-Rusulim min qablika fahaaqa billazeena sakhiroo minhum maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi’oon (section 3)
42. قُلْ مَنْ يَكْلَؤُكُمْ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مِنَ الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۗ بَلْ هُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِمْ مُعْرِضُونَ
Qul Man Yakla’uukum Bil-Layli Wa An-Nahāri Mina Ar-Raĥmāni Bal Hum `An Dhikri Rabbihim Mu`riđūna
21:42 Say, “Who (can) protect you in the night and the day from the Most Gracious?” Yet, they from (the) remembrance (of) their Lord turn away.
42. Qul mai yakla ‘ukum billaili wannahaari minar Rahmaan; bal hum ‘an zikri Rabbihim mu’ridoon
43. أَمْ لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ تَمْنَعُهُمْ مِنْ دُونِنَا ۚ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ مِنَّا يُصْحَبُونَ
‘Am Lahum ‘Ālihatun Tamna`uhum Min Dūninā Lā Yastaţī`ūna Naşra ‘Anfusihim Wa Lā Hum Minnā Yuşĥabūna
21:43 Or have they gods (to) defend them from Us? Not they are able (to) help themselves and not they from Us can be protected.
43. Am lahum aalihatun tamna’uhum min dooninaa; laa yastatee’oona nasra anfusihim wa laa hum minna yus-haboon
44. بَلْ مَتَّعْنَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ وَآبَاءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْعُمُرُ ۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّا نَأْتِي الْأَرْضَ نَنْقُصُهَا مِنْ أَطْرَافِهَا ۚ أَفَهُمُ الْغَالِبُونَ
Bal Matta`nā Hā’uulā’ Wa ‘Ābā’ahum Ĥattá Ţāla `Alayhimu Al-`Umuru ‘Afalā Yarawna ‘Annā Na’tī Al-‘Arđa Nanquşuhā Min ‘Aţrāfihā ‘Afahumu Al-Ghālibūna
21:44 Nay, We gave provision (to) these and their fathers until grew long for them, the life. Then do not they see that We We come (to) the land, We reduce it from its borders? So is (it) they (who will be) overcoming?
44. Bal matta’naa haaa’ulaaa’i wa aabaaa’ahum hattaa taala ‘alaihimul ‘umur; afalaa yarawna anna na’til arda nanqusuhaa min atraafihaa; afahumul ghaaliboon
45. قُلْ إِنَّمَا أُنْذِرُكُمْ بِالْوَحْيِ ۚ وَلَا يَسْمَعُ الصُّمُّ الدُّعَاءَ إِذَا مَا يُنْذَرُونَ
Qul ‘Innamā ‘Undhirukum Bil-Waĥyi Wa Lā Yasma`u Aş-Şummu Ad-Du`ā’a ‘Idhā Mā Yundharūna
21:45 Say, “Only I warn you by the revelation.” But not hear the deaf the call when (that) they are warned.
45. Qul innamaaa unzirukum bilwahyi; wa laa yasma’us summud du’aaa ‘a izaa maa yunzaroon
46. وَلَئِنْ مَسَّتْهُمْ نَفْحَةٌ مِنْ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
Wa La’in Massat/hum Nafĥatun Min `Adhābi Rabbika Layaqūlunna Yā Waylanā ‘Innā Kunnā Žālimīna
21:46 And if touches them a whiff of (the) punishment (of) your Lord, surely they will say, “O woe to us! Indeed, we [we] were wrongdoers.”
46. Wa la’in massat hum nafhatun min ‘azaabi Rabbika la yaqoolunna yaawailanaaa innnaa kunnaa zaalimeen
47. وَنَضَعُ الْمَوَازِينَ الْقِسْطَ لِيَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَلَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا ۖ وَإِنْ كَانَ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ أَتَيْنَا بِهَا ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَاسِبِينَ
Wa Nađa`u Al-Mawāzīna Al-Qisţa Liyawmi Al-Qiyāmati Falā Tužlamu Nafsun Shay’āan Wa ‘In Kāna Mithqāla Ĥabbatin Min Khardalin ‘Ataynā Bihā Wa Kafá Binā Ĥāsibīna
21:47 And We set the scales (of) the justice for (the) Day (of) the Resurrection, so not will be wronged any soul (in) anything. And if (there) be weight (of) a seed of a mustard We will bring [with] it. And sufficient (are) We (as) Reckoners.
47. Wa nada’ul mawaazeenal qista li Yawmil Qiyaamati falaa tuzlamu nafsun shai’aa; wa in kaana misqaala habbatim min khardalin atainaa bihaa; wa kafaa binaa haasibeen
48. وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ الْفُرْقَانَ وَضِيَاءً وَذِكْرًا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
Wa Laqad ‘Ātaynā Mūsá Wa Hārūna Al-Furqāna Wa Điyā’an Wa Dhikrāan Lilmuttaqīna
21:48 And verily, We gave Musa and Harun the Criterion and a light and a Reminder for the righteous.
48. Wa laqad aatainaa Moosa wa haaroonal Furqaana wa diyaa’anw wa zikral lilmuttaqeen
49. الَّذِينَ يَخْشَوْنَ رَبَّهُمْ بِالْغَيْبِ وَهُمْ مِنَ السَّاعَةِ مُشْفِقُونَ
Al-Ladhīna Yakhshawna Rabbahum Bil-Ghaybi Wa Hum Mina As-Sā`ati Mushfiqūna
21:49 Those who fear their Lord in the unseen, and they of the Hour (are) afraid.
49. Allazeena yakhshawna Rabbahum bilghaibi wa hum minas Saa’ati mushfiqoon
50. وَهَٰذَا ذِكْرٌ مُبَارَكٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ ۚ أَفَأَنْتُمْ لَهُ مُنْكِرُونَ
Wa Hadhā Dhikrun Mubārakun ‘Anzalnāhu ‘Afa’antum Lahu Munkirūna
21:50 And this (is) a Reminder blessed, which We (have) revealed. Then are you of it rejecters?
50. Wa haazaa Zikrum Mubaarakun anzalnaah; afa antum lahoo munkiroon (section 4)
51. وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ رُشْدَهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِ عَالِمِينَ
Wa Laqad ‘Ātaynā ‘Ibrāhīma Rushdahu Min Qablu Wa Kunnā Bihi `Ālimīna
21:51 And verily, We gave Ibrahim his guidance from before, and We were about him Well-Knowing.
51. Wa laqad aatainaaa Ibraaheema rushdahoo min qablu wa kunnaa bihee ‘aalimeen
52. إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِ مَا هَٰذِهِ التَّمَاثِيلُ الَّتِي أَنْتُمْ لَهَا عَاكِفُونَ
‘Idh Qāla Li’abīhi Wa Qawmihi Mā Hadhihi At-Tamāthīlu Allatī ‘Antum Lahā `Ākifūna
21:52 When he said to his father and his people, “What (are) these [the] statues which you to it (are) devoted?”
52. Iz qaala li abeehi wa qawmihee maa haazihit tamaaseelul lateee antum lahaa ‘aakifoon
53. قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا آبَاءَنَا لَهَا عَابِدِينَ
Qālū Wajadnā ‘Ābā’anā Lahā `Ābidīna
21:53 They said, “We found our forefathers of them worshippers.”
53. Qaaloo wajadnaaa aabaaa’anaa lahaa ‘aabideen
54. قَالَ لَقَدْ كُنْتُمْ أَنْتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ
Qāla Laqad Kuntum ‘Antum Wa ‘Ābā’uukum Fī Đalālin Mubīnin
21:54 He said, “Verily, you are [you] and your forefathers (were) in an error manifest.”
54. Qaala laqad kuntum antum wa aabaaa’ukum fee dalaalin mubeen
55. قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا بِالْحَقِّ أَمْ أَنْتَ مِنَ اللَّاعِبِينَ
Qālū ‘Aji’tanā Bil-Ĥaqqi ‘Am ‘Anta Mina Al-Lā`ibīna
21:55 They said, “Have you come to us with the truth, or you (are) of those who play?”
55. Qaalooo aji’tanaa bil haqqi am anta minal laa’ibeen
56. قَالَ بَلْ رَبُّكُمْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ الَّذِي فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
Qāla Bal Rabbukum Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Al-Ladhī Faţarahunna Wa ‘Anā `Alá Dhālikum Mina Ash-Shāhidīna
21:56 He said, “Nay, your Lord (is the) Lord (of) the heavens and the earth, the One Who created them and I am to that of the witnesses.
56. Qaala bar Rabbukum Rabbus samaawaati wal ardil lazee fatarahunna wa ana ‘alaa zaalikum minash shaahideen
57. وَتَاللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصْنَامَكُمْ بَعْدَ أَنْ تُوَلُّوا مُدْبِرِينَ
Wa Tālllahi La’akīdanna ‘Aşnāmakum Ba`da ‘An Tuwallū Mudbirīna
21:57 And by Allah surely, I will plan (against) your idols after [that] you go away turning (your) backs.”
57. Wa tallaahi la akeedanna asnaamakum ba’da an tuwalloo mudbireen
58. فَجَعَلَهُمْ جُذَاذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرًا لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِ يَرْجِعُونَ
Faja`alahum Judhādhāan ‘Illā Kabīrāan Lahum La`allahum ‘Ilayhi Yarji`ūna
21:58 So he made them (into) pieces except a large (one) of them, so that they may to it return.
58. Faja’alahum juzaazan illaa kabeeral lahum la’allahum ilaihi yarji’oon
59. قَالُوا مَنْ فَعَلَ هَٰذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Qālū Man Fa`ala Hādhā Bi’ālihatinā ‘Innahu Lamina Až-Žālimīna
21:59 They said, “Who (has) done this to our gods? Indeed, he (is) of the wrongdoers.“
59. Qaaloo man fa’ala haazaa bi aalihatinaaa innahoo laminaz zaalimeen
60. قَالُوا سَمِعْنَا فَتًى يَذْكُرُهُمْ يُقَالُ لَهُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ
Qālū Sami`nā Fatáan Yadhkuruhum Yuqālu Lahu ‘Ibrāhīmu
21:60 They said, “We heard a youth mention them is called he Ibrahim.”
60. Qaaloo sami’naa fatany yazkuruhum yuqaalu lahooo Ibraaheem
61. قَالُوا فَأْتُوا بِهِ عَلَىٰ أَعْيُنِ النَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَشْهَدُونَ
Qālū Fa’tū Bihi `Alá ‘A`yuni An-Nāsi La`allahum Yash/hadūna
21:61 They said, “Then bring him before (the) eyes (of) the people so that they may bear witness.”
61. Qaaloo fa’too bihee ‘alaaa a’yunin naasi la’allahum yash hadoon
62. قَالُوا أَأَنْتَ فَعَلْتَ هَٰذَا بِآلِهَتِنَا يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ
Qālū ‘A’anta Fa`alta Hādhā Bi’ālihatinā Yā ‘Ibrāhīmu
21:62 They said, “Have you done this to our gods O Ibrahim?”
62. Qaalooo ‘a-anta fa’alta haazaa bi aalihatinaa yaaa Ibraaheem
63. قَالَ بَلْ فَعَلَهُ كَبِيرُهُمْ هَٰذَا فَاسْأَلُوهُمْ إِنْ كَانُوا يَنْطِقُونَ
Qāla Bal Fa`alahu Kabīruhum Hādhā Fās’alūhum ‘In Kānū Yanţiqūna
21:63 He said, “Nay, (some doer) did it. Their chief (is) this. So ask them if they (can) speak.”
63. Qaala bal fa’alahoo kabeeruhum haazaa fas’aloohum in kaanoo yantiqoon
64. فَرَجَعُوا إِلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكُمْ أَنْتُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ
Faraja`ū ‘Ilá ‘Anfusihim Faqālū ‘Innakum ‘Antumu Až-Žālimūna
21:64 So they returned to themselves and said, “Indeed, you [you] (are) the wrongdoers.”
64. Faraja’ooo ilaaa anfusihim faqaalooo innakum antumuz zaalimoon
65. ثُمَّ نُكِسُوا عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمْ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ مَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ يَنْطِقُونَ
Thumma Nukisū `Alá Ru’ūsihim Laqad `Alimta Mā Hā’uulā’ Yanţiqūna
21:65 Then they were turned on their heads, “Verily, you know not these (can) speak!”
65. Summa nukisoo ‘alaa ru’oosihim laqad ‘alimta maa haaa’ulaaa’i yantiqoon
66. قَالَ أَفَتَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنْفَعُكُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمْ
Qāla ‘Afata`budūna Min Dūni Al-Lahi Mā Lā Yanfa`ukum Shay’āan Wa Lā Yađurrukum
21:66 He said, “Then do you worship from besides Allah what (does) not benefit you (in) anything and not harms you?
66. Qaala afata’budoona min doonil laahi maa laa yanfa’ukum shai’anw wa laa yadurrukum
67. أُفٍّ لَكُمْ وَلِمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
‘Uffin Lakum Wa Limā Ta`budūna Min Dūni Al-Lahi ‘Afalā Ta`qilūna
21:67 Uff to you and to what you worship from besides Allah. Then will not you use reason?”
67. Uffil lakum wa limaa ta’budoona min doonil laah; afalaa ta’qiloon
68. قَالُوا حَرِّقُوهُ وَانْصُرُوا آلِهَتَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ فَاعِلِينَ
Qālū Ĥarriqūhu Wa Anşurū ‘Ālihatakum ‘In Kuntum Fā`ilīna
21:68 They said, “Burn him and support your gods, if you are doers.”
68. Qaaloo harriqoohu wansurooo aalihatakum in kuntum faa’ileen
69. قُلْنَا يَا نَارُ كُونِي بَرْدًا وَسَلَامًا عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ
Qulnā Yā Nāru Kūnī Bardāan Wa Salāmāan `Alá ‘Ibrāhīma
21:69 We said, “O fire! Be cool[ness] and safe[ty] for Ibrahim.”
69. Qulnaa yaa naaru koonee bardanw wa salaaman ‘alaaa Ibraaheem
70. وَأَرَادُوا بِهِ كَيْدًا فَجَعَلْنَاهُمُ الْأَخْسَرِينَ
Wa ‘Arādū Bihi Kaydāan Faja`alnāhumu Al-‘Akhsarīna
21:70 And they intended for him, a plan but We made them the greatest losers.
70. Wa araadoo bihee kaidan faja’alnaahumul akhsareen
71. وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا لِلْعَالَمِينَ
Wa Najjaynāhu Wa Lūţāan ‘Ilá Al-‘Arđi Allatī Bāraknā Fīhā Lil`ālamīna
21:71 And We delivered him and Lut to the land which We (had) blessed [in it] for the worlds.
71. Wa najjainaahu wa Lootan ilal ardil latee baaraknaa feehaa lil ‘aalameen
72. وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ إِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ نَافِلَةً ۖ وَكُلًّا جَعَلْنَا صَالِحِينَ
Wa Wahabnā Lahu ‘Isĥāqa Wa Ya`qūba Nāfilatan Wa Kullāan Ja`alnā Şāliĥīna
21:72 And We bestowed on him Ishaq and Yaqub (in) addition, and all We made righteous.
72. Wa wahabnaa lahooo Ishaaqa; wa Ya’qooba naafilah; wa kullan ja’alnaa saaliheen
73. وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَئِمَّةً يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْهِمْ فِعْلَ الْخَيْرَاتِ وَإِقَامَ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِيتَاءَ الزَّكَاةِ ۖ وَكَانُوا لَنَا عَابِدِينَ
Wa Ja`alnāhum ‘A’immatan Yahdūna Bi’amrinā Wa ‘Awĥaynā ‘Ilayhim Fi`la Al-Khayrāti Wa ‘Iqāma Aş-Şalāati Wa ‘Ītā’a Az-Zakāati Wa Kānū Lanā `Ābidīna
21:73 And We made them leaders, they guide by Our Command. And We inspired to them (the) doing (of) good deeds, and establishment (of) the prayer and giving (of) zakah; and they were of Us worshippers.
73. Wa ja’alnaahum a’immatany yahdoona bi amrinaa wa awhainaaa ilaihim fi’lal khairaati wa iqaamas Salaati wa eetaaa’az Zakaati wa kaanoo lanaa ‘aabideen
74. وَلُوطًا آتَيْنَاهُ حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَعْمَلُ الْخَبَائِثَ ۗ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَاسِقِينَ
Wa Lūţāan ‘Ātaynāhu Ĥukmāan Wa `Ilmāan Wa Najjaynāhu Mina Al-Qaryati Allatī Kānat Ta`malu Al-Khabā’itha ‘Innahum Kānū Qawma Saw’in Fāsiqīna
21:74 And (to) Lut We gave him judgment and knowledge, and We saved him from the town which was doing wicked deeds. Indeed, they were a people evil, defiantly disobedient.
74. Wa Lootan aatainaahu hukmanw wa ‘ilmanw wa najjainaahu minal qaryatil latee kaanat ta’malul khabaaa’is; innahum kaanoo qawma saw’in faasiqeen
75. وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا ۖ إِنَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Wa ‘Adkhalnāhu Fī Raĥmatinā ‘Innahu Mina Aş-Şāliĥīna
21:75 And We admitted him into Our Mercy. Indeed, he (was) of the righteous.
75. Wa adkhalnaahu fee rahmatinaa innahoo minas saaliheen (section 5)
76. وَنُوحًا إِذْ نَادَىٰ مِنْ قَبْلُ فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَنَجَّيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ
Wa Nūĥāan ‘Idh Nādá Min Qablu Fāstajabnā Lahu Fanajjaynāhu Wa ‘Ahlahu Mina Al-Karbi Al-`Ažīmi
21:76 And Nuh, when he called from before, so We responded to him and We saved him and his family from the affliction, [the] great.
76. Wa noohan iz naadaa min qablu fastajabnaa lahoo fanajjainaahu wa ahlahoo minal karbil ‘azeem
77. وَنَصَرْنَاهُ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمَ سَوْءٍ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Wa Naşarnāhu Mina Al-Qawmi Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Bi’āyātinā ‘Innahum Kānū Qawma Saw’in Fa’aghraqnāhum ‘Ajma`īna
21:77 And We helped him from the people who denied Our Signs. Indeed, they were a people evil, so We drowned them all.
77. Wa nasarnaahu minal qawmil lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa; innahum kaanoo qawma saw’in fa-aghraq naahum ajma’een
78. وَدَاوُودَ وَسُلَيْمَانَ إِذْ يَحْكُمَانِ فِي الْحَرْثِ إِذْ نَفَشَتْ فِيهِ غَنَمُ الْقَوْمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكْمِهِمْ شَاهِدِينَ
Wa Dāwūda Wa Sulaymāna ‘Idh Yaĥkumāni Fī Al-Ĥarthi ‘Idh Nafashat Fīhi Ghanamu Al-Qawmi Wa Kunnā Liĥukmihim Shāhidīna
21:78 And Dawud and Sulaiman, when they judged concerning the field, when pastured in it sheep (of) a people, and We were to their judgment witness.
78. Wa Daawooda wa Sulaimaana iz yahkumaani fil harsi iz nafashat feehi ghanamul qawmi wa kunnaa lihukmihim shaahideen
79. فَفَهَّمْنَاهَا سُلَيْمَانَ ۚ وَكُلًّا آتَيْنَا حُكْمًا وَعِلْمًا ۚ وَسَخَّرْنَا مَعَ دَاوُودَ الْجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحْنَ وَالطَّيْرَ ۚ وَكُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ
Fafahhamnāhā Sulaymāna Wa Kullāan ‘Ātaynā Ĥukmāan Wa `Ilmāan Wa Sakhkharnā Ma`a Dāwūda Al-Jibāla Yusabbiĥna Wa Aţ-Ţayra Wa Kunnā Fā`ilīna
21:79 And We gave understanding of it (to) Sulaiman, and (to) each We gave judgment and knowledge. And We subjected with Dawud the mountains (to) glorify Our praises and the birds. And We were the Doers.
79. Fafahhamnaahaa sulaimaan; wa kullan aatainaa hukmanw wa’ilmanw wa sakh kharnaa ma’a Daawoodal jibaala yusabbihna wattayr; wa kunnaa faa’ileen
80. وَعَلَّمْنَاهُ صَنْعَةَ لَبُوسٍ لَكُمْ لِتُحْصِنَكُمْ مِنْ بَأْسِكُمْ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ شَاكِرُونَ
Wa `Allamnāhu Şan`ata Labūsin Lakum Lituĥşinakum Min Ba’sikum Fahal ‘Antum Shākirūna
21:80 And We taught him (the) making (of) coats of armor for you to protect you from your battle. Then will you (be) grateful?
80. Wa ‘allamnaahu san’ata laboosil lakum lituhsinakum min ba’sikum fahal antum shaakiroon
81. وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ الرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةً تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَالِمِينَ
Wa Lisulaymāna Ar-Rīĥa `Āşifatan Tajrī Bi’amrihi ‘Ilá Al-‘Arđi Allatī Bāraknā Fīhā Wa Kunnā Bikulli Shay’in `Ālimīna
21:81 And to Sulaiman, the wind forcefully blowing by his command to the land which We blessed [in it]. And We are of every thing Knowers.
81. Wa li Sulaimaanar reeha ‘aasifatan tajree bi amriheee ilal ardil latee baaraknaa feehaa; wa kunnaa bikulli shai’in ‘aalimeen
82. وَمِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ مَنْ يَغُوصُونَ لَهُ وَيَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حَافِظِينَ
Wa Mina Ash-Shayāţīni Man Yaghūşūna Lahu Wa Ya`malūna `Amalāan Dūna Dhālika Wa Kunnā Lahum Ĥāfižīna
21:82 And of the devils (were some) who would dive for him and would do work other than that. And We were of them Guardians.
82. Wa minash Shayaateeni mai yaghoosoona lahoo wa ya’maloona ‘amalan doona zaalika wa kunna lahum haafizeen
83. وَأَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Wa ‘Ayyūba ‘Idh Nādá Rabbahu ‘Annī Massanī Ađ-Đurru Wa ‘Anta ‘Arĥamu Ar-Rāĥimīna
21:83 And Ayub, when he called (to) his Lord, “Indeed, [I] has touched me the adversity, and You (are) Most Merciful (of) the Merciful.”
83. Wa Ayyooba iz naadaa Rabbahooo annee massaniyad durru wa Anta arhamur raahimeen
84. فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ فَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِ مِنْ ضُرٍّ ۖ وَآتَيْنَاهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِنْ عِنْدِنَا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْعَابِدِينَ
Fāstajabnā Lahu Fakashafnā Mā Bihi Min Đurrin Wa ‘Ātaynāhu ‘Ahlahu Wa Mithlahum Ma`ahum Raĥmatan Min `Indinā Wa Dhikrá Lil`ābidīna
21:84 So We responded to him and We removed what (was) on him of (the) adversity. And We gave him his family and (the) like thereof with them (as) Mercy from Ourselves, and a reminder for the worshippers.
84. Fastajabnaa lahoo fakashaf naa maa bihee min durrinw wa aatainaahu ahlahoo wa mislahum ma’ahum rahmatan min ‘indinaa wa zikraa lil’aabideen
85. وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِدْرِيسَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۖ كُلٌّ مِنَ الصَّابِرِينَ
Wa ‘Ismā`īla Wa ‘Idrīsa Wa Dhā Al-Kifli Kullun Mina Aş-Şābirīna
21:85 And Ismail and Idris and Dhul Kifl; all (were) of the patient ones.
85. Wa Ismaa’eela wa Idreesa wa Zal Kifli kullum minas saabireen
86. وَأَدْخَلْنَاهُمْ فِي رَحْمَتِنَا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Wa ‘Adkhalnāhum Fī Raĥmatinā ‘Innahum Mina Aş-Şāliĥīna
21:86 And We admitted them in Our Mercy. Indeed, they (were) of the righteous.
86. Wa adkhalnaahum fee rahmatinaa innahum minas saaliheen
87. وَذَا النُّونِ إِذْ ذَهَبَ مُغَاضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ نَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Wa Dhā An-Nūni ‘Idh Dhahaba Mughāđibāan Fažanna ‘An Lan Naqdira `Alayhi Fanādá Fī Až-Žulumāti ‘An Lā ‘Ilāha ‘Illā ‘Anta Subĥānaka ‘Innī Kuntu Mina Až-Žālimīna
21:87 And Dhul Nun when he went (while) angry and thought that never We would decree upon him. Then he called in the darkness(es) that, “(There is) no god except You, Glory be to You! Indeed, [I] I am of the wrongdoers.”
87. Wa Zan Nooni iz zahaba mughaadiban fa zannaa al lan naqdira ‘alaihi fanaadaa fiz zulumaati al laaa ilaaha illaaa Anta Subhaanaka innee kuntu minaz zaalimeen
88. فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَنَجَّيْنَاهُ مِنَ الْغَمِّ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُنْجِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Fāstajabnā Lahu Wa Najjaynāhu Mina Al-Ghammi Wa Kadhalika Nunjī Al-Mu’uminīna
21:88 So We responded to him, and We saved him from the distress. And thus We save the believers.
88. Fastajabnaa lahoo wa najjainaahu minal ghamm; wa kazaalika nunjil mu’mineen
89. وَزَكَرِيَّا إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرْنِي فَرْدًا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْوَارِثِينَ
Wa Zakarīyā ‘Idh Nādá Rabbahu Rabbi Lā Tadharnī Fardāan Wa ‘Anta Khayru Al-Wārithīna
21:89 And Zakariya, when he called (to) his Lord, “My Lord! (Do) not leave me alone, while You (are) [the] Best (of) the inheritors.“
89. Wa Zakariyyaaa iz naadaa Rabbahoo Rabbi laa tazarnee fardanw wa Anta khairul waariseen
90. فَاسْتَجَبْنَا لَهُ وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ يَحْيَىٰ وَأَصْلَحْنَا لَهُ زَوْجَهُ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَيَدْعُونَنَا رَغَبًا وَرَهَبًا ۖ وَكَانُوا لَنَا خَاشِعِينَ
Fāstajabnā Lahu Wa Wahabnā Lahu Yaĥyá Wa ‘Aşlaĥnā Lahu Zawjahu ‘Innahum Kānū Yusāri`ūna Fī Al-Khayrāti Wa Yad`ūnanā Raghabāan Wa Rahabāan Wa Kānū Lanā Khāshi`īna
21:90 So We responded to him, and We bestowed on him Yahya, and We cured for him his wife. Indeed, they used (to) hasten in good deeds, and they supplicate to Us (in) hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.
90. Fastajabnaa lahoo wa wahabnaa lahoo Yahyaa Wa aslahnaa lahoo zawjah; innahum kaanoo yusaari’oona fil khairaati wa yad’oonanaa raghabanw wa rahabaa; wa kaanoo lanaa khaashi’een
91. وَالَّتِي أَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا فَنَفَخْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ رُوحِنَا وَجَعَلْنَاهَا وَابْنَهَا آيَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ
Wa A-LAtī ‘Aĥşanat Farjahā Fanafakhnā Fīhā Min Rūĥinā Wa Ja`alnāhā Wa Abnahā ‘Āyatan Lil`ālamīna
21:91 And she who guarded her chastity, so We breathed into her of Our Spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.
91. Wallateee ahsanat farjahaa fanafakhnaa feehaa min roohinaa wa ja’alnaahaa wabnahaaa Aayatan lil’aalameen
92. إِنَّ هَٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُونِ
‘Inna Hadhihi ‘Ummatukum ‘Ummatan Wāĥidatan Wa ‘Anā Rabbukum Fā`budūni
21:92 Indeed, this (is) your religion – religion one, and I Am your Lord, so worship Me.
92. Inna haaziheee ummatukum ummatanw waahidatanw wa Ana Rabbukum fa’budoon
93. وَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلٌّ إِلَيْنَا رَاجِعُونَ
Wa Taqaţţa`ū ‘Amrahum Baynahum Kullun ‘Ilaynā Rāji`ūna
21:93 But they cut off their affair among themselves, all to Us (will) return.
93. Wa taqatta’ooo amrahum bainahum kullun ilainaaa raaji’oon (section 6)
94. فَمَنْ يَعْمَلْ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَا كُفْرَانَ لِسَعْيِهِ وَإِنَّا لَهُ كَاتِبُونَ
Faman Ya`mal Mina Aş-Şāliĥāti Wa Huwa Mu’uminun Falā Kufrāna Lisa`yihi Wa ‘Innā Lahu Kātibūna
21:94 Then whoever does [of] [the] righteous deeds while he (is) a believer then not (will be) rejected [of] his effort. And indeed, We of it (are) Recorders.
94. Famai ya’mal minas saalihaati wa huwa mu’minun falaa kufraana lisa’yihee wa innaa lahoo kaatiboon
95. وَحَرَامٌ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ
Wa Ĥarāmun `Alá Qaryatin ‘Ahlaknāhā ‘Annahum Lā Yarji`ūna
21:95 And (there is) prohibition upon a city which We have destroyed, that they not will return.
95. Wa haraamun ‘alaa qaryatin ahlaknaahaaa annahum laa yarji’oon
96. حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ حَدَبٍ يَنْسِلُونَ
Ĥattá ‘Idhā Futiĥat Ya’jūju Wa Ma’jūju Wa Hum Min Kulli Ĥadabin Yansilūna
21:96 Until when has been opened (for) the Yajuj and Majuj, and they from every elevation descend.
96. Hattaaa izaa futihat Ya’jooju wa Ma’jooju wa hum min kulli hadabiny yansiloon
97. وَاقْتَرَبَ الْوَعْدُ الْحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِيَ شَاخِصَةٌ أَبْصَارُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا قَدْ كُنَّا فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِنْ هَٰذَا بَلْ كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
Wāqtaraba Al-Wa`du Al-Ĥaqqu Fa’idhā Hiya Shākhişatun ‘Abşāru Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yā Waylanā Qad Kunnā Fī Ghaflatin Min Hādhā Bal Kunnā Žālimīna
21:97 And has approached the promise [the] true then behold, [it] (are) staring (the) eyes (of) those who disbelieved, “O woe to us! Verily, we had been in heedlessness of this; nay, we were wrongdoers.”
97. Waqtarabal wa’dul haqqu fa-izaa hiya shaakhisatun absaarul lazeena kafaroo yaawailanaa qad kunna fee ghaflatin min haaza bal kunnaa zaalimeen
98. إِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنْتُمْ لَهَا وَارِدُونَ
‘Innakum Wa Mā Ta`budūna Min Dūni Al-Lahi Ĥaşabu Jahannama ‘Antum Lahā Wa Aridūna
21:98 Indeed, you and what you worship from besides Allah (are) firewood (of) Hell. You to it will come.
98. Innakum wa maa ta’budoona min doonil laahi hasabu Jahannama antum lahaa waaridoon
99. لَوْ كَانَ هَٰؤُلَاءِ آلِهَةً مَا وَرَدُوهَا ۖ وَكُلٌّ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
Law Kāna Hā’uulā’ ‘Ālihatan Mā Waradūhā Wa Kullun Fīhā Khālidūna
21:99 If were these gods, not they (would) have come to it. And all therein will abide forever.
99. Law kaana haaa’ulaaa’i aalihatan maa waradoohaa wa kullun feehaa khaalidoon
100. لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
Lahum Fīhā Zafīrun Wa Hum Fīhā Lā Yasma`ūna
21:100 For them therein (is) sighing, and they therein not will hear.
100. Lahum feehaa zafeerunw wa hum feehaa laa yasma’oon
101. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ سَبَقَتْ لَهُمْ مِنَّا الْحُسْنَىٰ أُولَٰئِكَ عَنْهَا مُبْعَدُونَ
‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Sabaqat Lahum Minnā Al-Ĥusná ‘Ūlā’ika `Anhā Mub`adūna
21:101 Indeed, those has gone forth for them from Us the good, those from it (will be) removed far.
101. Innal lazeena sabaqat lahum minnal husnaaa ulaaa’ika ‘anhaa mub’adoon
102. لَا يَسْمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَا ۖ وَهُمْ فِي مَا اشْتَهَتْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ خَالِدُونَ
Lā Yasma`ūna Ĥasīsahā Wa Hum Fī Mā Ashtahat ‘Anfusuhum Khālidūna
21:102 Not they will hear (the) slightest sound of it and they in what desire their souls will abide forever.
102. Laa yasma’oona hasee sahaa wa hum fee mash tahat anfusuhum khaalidoon
103. لَا يَحْزُنُهُمُ الْفَزَعُ الْأَكْبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّاهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ هَٰذَا يَوْمُكُمُ الَّذِي كُنْتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ
Lā Yaĥzunuhumu Al-Faza`u Al-‘Akbaru Wa Tatalaqqāhumu Al-Malā’ikatu Hādhā Yawmukumu Al-Ladhī Kuntum Tū`adūna
21:103 Not will grieve them the terror [the] greatest, and will meet them the Angels, “This (is) your Day which you were promised.”
103. Laa yahzunuhumul faza’ul akbaru wa tatalaq qaahumul malaaa’ikatu haazaa Yawmukumul lazee kuntum too’adoon
104. يَوْمَ نَطْوِي السَّمَاءَ كَطَيِّ السِّجِلِّ لِلْكُتُبِ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأْنَا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُعِيدُهُ ۚ وَعْدًا عَلَيْنَا ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ
Yawma Naţwī As-Samā’a Kaţayyi As-Sijilli Lilkutubi Kamā Bada’nā ‘Awwala Khalqin Nu`īduhu Wa`dāan `Alaynā ‘Innā Kunnā Fā`ilīna
21:104 (The) Day We will fold the heaven like (the) folding (of) a scroll for records. As We began (the) first creation We will repeat it, a promise upon Us. Indeed, We – We are (the) Doers.
104. Yawma natwis samaaa’a kataiyis sijilli lilkutub; kamaa bada’naa awwala khalqin nu’eeduh; wa’dan ‘alainaa; innaa kunna faa’ileen
105. وَلَقَدْ كَتَبْنَا فِي الزَّبُورِ مِنْ بَعْدِ الذِّكْرِ أَنَّ الْأَرْضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِيَ الصَّالِحُونَ
Wa Laqad Katabnā Fī Az-Zabūri Min Ba`di Adh-Dhikri ‘Anna Al-‘Arđa Yarithuhā `Ibādiya Aş-Şāliĥūna
21:105 And verily, We have written in the Scripture from after the mention, that the earth – will inherit it My slaves, the righteous.
105. Wa laqad katabnaa fiz Zaboori min ba’diz zikri annal arda yarisuhaa ‘ibaadi yas saalihoon
106. إِنَّ فِي هَٰذَا لَبَلَاغًا لِقَوْمٍ عَابِدِينَ
‘Inna Fī Hādhā Labalāghāan Liqawmin `Ābidīna
21:106 Indeed, in this surely is a Message for a people, worshippers.
106. Inna fee haaza labalaa ghal liqawmin ‘aabideen
107. وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِلْعَالَمِينَ
Wa Mā ‘Arsalnāka ‘Illā Raĥmatan Lil`ālamīna
21:107 And not We have sent you but (as) a mercy for the worlds.
107. Wa maaa arsalnaaka illaa rahmatal lil’aalameen
108. قُلْ إِنَّمَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ إِلَٰهٌ وَاحِدٌ ۖ فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ
Qul ‘Innamā Yūĥá ‘Ilayya ‘Annamā ‘Ilahukum ‘Ilahun Wāĥidun Fahal ‘Antum Muslimūna
21:108 Say, “Only it is revealed to me that your god (is) God One; so will you submit (to Him)?”
108. Qul innamaa yoohaa ilaiya annamaaa ilaahukum illaahunw Waahid, fahal antum muslimoon
109. فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ آذَنْتُكُمْ عَلَىٰ سَوَاءٍ ۖ وَإِنْ أَدْرِي أَقَرِيبٌ أَمْ بَعِيدٌ مَا تُوعَدُونَ
Fa’in Tawallaw Faqul ‘Ādhantukum `Alá Sawā’in Wa ‘In ‘Adrī ‘Aqarībun ‘Am Ba`īdun Mā Tū`adūna
21:109 But if they turn away then say, “I (have) announced to you over equally And not I know whether is near or far what you are promised.
109. Fa in tawallaw faqul aazantukum ‘alaa sawaaa’; wa in adreee aqareebun am ba’eedun maa too’adoon
110. إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تَكْتُمُونَ
‘Innahu Ya`lamu Al-Jahra Mina Al-Qawli Wa Ya`lamu Mā Taktumūna
21:110 Indeed, He knows the declared [of] [the] speech and He knows what you conceal.
110. Innahoo ya’lamul jahra minal qawli wa ya’lamu maa taktumoon
111. وَإِنْ أَدْرِي لَعَلَّهُ فِتْنَةٌ لَكُمْ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
Wa ‘In ‘Adrī La`allahu Fitnatun Lakum Wa Matā`un ‘Ilá Ĥīnin
21:111 And not I know, perhaps it may be a trial for you, and an enjoyment for a time.”
111. Wa in adree la’allahoo fitnatul lakum wa mataa’un ilaaheen
112. قَالَ رَبِّ احْكُمْ بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَرَبُّنَا الرَّحْمَٰنُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ
Qāla Rabbi Aĥkum Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Rabbunā Ar-Raĥmānu Al-Musta`ānu `Alá Mā Taşifūna
21:112 He said, “My Lord! judge in truth. And our Lord (is) the Most Gracious, the One Whose help is sought against what you attribute.”
112. Qaala Rabbih kum bil haqq; wa Rabbunar Rahmaa nul musta’aanu ‘alaa maa tasifoon (section 7)
