1. قَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Qad ‘Aflaĥa Al-Mu’uminūna
23:1 Indeed, successful (are) the believers
1. Qad aflahal mu’minoon
2. الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي صَلَاتِهِمْ خَاشِعُونَ
Al-Ladhīna Hum Fī Şalātihim Khāshi`ūna
23:2 Those who [they] during their prayers (are) humbly submissive,
2. Allazeena hum fee Salaatihim khaashi’oon
3. وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَنِ اللَّغْوِ مُعْرِضُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Hum `Ani Al-Laghwi Mu`riđūna
23:3 Those who [they] from the vain talk turn away,
3. Wallazeena hum ‘anillaghwimu’ridoon
4. وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِلزَّكَاةِ فَاعِلُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Hum Lilzzakāati Fā`ilūna
23:4 Those who [they] of purification works (are) doers,
4. Wallazeena hum liz Zakaati faa’iloon
5. وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِفُرُوجِهِمْ حَافِظُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Hum Lifurūjihim Ĥāfižūna
23:5 And those who [they] of their modesty (are) guardians
5. Wallazeena hum lifuroo jihim haafizoon
6. إِلَّا عَلَىٰ أَزْوَاجِهِمْ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
‘Illā `Alá ‘Azwājihim ‘AW Mā Malakat ‘Aymānuhum Fa’innahum Ghayru Malūmīna
23:6 Except from their spouses or what they possess rightfully then indeed, they (are) not blameworthy.
6. Illaa ‘alaaa azwaajihim aw maa malakat aimaanuhum fa innahum ghairu maloomeen
7. فَمَنِ ابْتَغَىٰ وَرَاءَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْعَادُونَ
Famani Abtaghá Warā’a Dhālika Fa’ūlā’ika Humu Al-`Ādūna
23:7 Then whoever seeks beyond that then those [they] (are) the transgressors.
7. Famanib taghaa waraaa’a zaalika fa ulaaa’ika humul ‘aadoon
8. وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ لِأَمَانَاتِهِمْ وَعَهْدِهِمْ رَاعُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Hum Li’mānātihim Wa `Ahdihim Rā`ūna
23:8 And those who [they] of their trusts and their promise(s) (are) observers
8. Wallazeena hum li amaanaatihim wa ‘ahdihim raa’oon
9. وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ عَلَىٰ صَلَوَاتِهِمْ يُحَافِظُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Hum `Alá Şalawātihim Yuĥāfižūna
23:9 And those who [they] over their prayers they guard
9. Wallazeena hum ‘alaa Salawaatihim yuhaafizoon
10. أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْوَارِثُونَ
‘Ūlā’ika Humu Al-Wārithūna
23:10 Those [they] (are) the inheritors
10. Ulaaa’ika humul waarisoon
11. الَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الْفِرْدَوْسَ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
Al-Ladhīna Yarithūna Al-Firdawsa Hum Fīhā Khālidūna
23:11 Who will inherit the Paradise. They therein (will) abide forever.
11. Allazeena yarisoonal Firdawsa hum feehaa khaalidoon
12. وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ مِنْ سُلَالَةٍ مِنْ طِينٍ
Wa Laqad Khalaqnā Al-‘Insāna Min Sulālatin Min Ţīnin
23:12 And indeed, We created the humankind from an essence of clay.
12. Wa laqad khalaqnal insaana min sulaalatim minteen
13. ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَاهُ نُطْفَةً فِي قَرَارٍ مَكِينٍ
Thumma Ja`alnāhu Nuţfatan Fī Qarārin Makīnin
23:13 Then We placed him (as) a semen-drop in a resting place firm.
13. Summa ja’alnaahu nutfatan fee qaraarim makeen
14. ثُمَّ خَلَقْنَا النُّطْفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْعَلَقَةَ مُضْغَةً فَخَلَقْنَا الْمُضْغَةَ عِظَامًا فَكَسَوْنَا الْعِظَامَ لَحْمًا ثُمَّ أَنْشَأْنَاهُ خَلْقًا آخَرَ ۚ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنُ الْخَالِقِينَ
Thumma Khalaqnā An-Nuţfata `Alaqatan Fakhalaqnā Al-`Alaqata Muđghatan Fakhalaqnā Al-Muđghata `Ižāmāan Fakasawnā Al-`Ižāma Laĥmāan Thumma ‘Ansha’nāhu Khalqāan ‘Ākhara Fatabāraka Al-Lahu ‘Aĥsanu Al-Khāliqīna
23:14 Then We created the semen-drop (into) a clinging substance, then We created the clinging substance (into) an embryonic lump, then We created the embryonic lump, (into) bones, then We clothed the bones (with) flesh; then We produce it (as) a creation another. So blessed is Allah (the) Best (of) the Creators.
14. Summa khalaqnan nutfata ‘alaqatan fakhalaqnal ‘alaqata mudghatan fakhalaq nal mudghata ‘izaaman fakasawnal ‘izaama lahman summa anshaanaahu khalqan aakhar; fatabaarakal laahu ahsanul khaaliqeen
15. ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ لَمَيِّتُونَ
Thumma ‘Innakum Ba`da Dhālika Lamayyitūna
23:15 Then indeed, you after that surely (will) die.
15. Summa innakum ba’da zaalika la maiyitoon
16. ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ تُبْعَثُونَ
Thumma ‘Innakum Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Tub`athūna
23:16 Then indeed, you (on the) Day (of) the Resurrection, will be resurrected.
16. Summa innakum Yawmal Qiyaamati tub’asoon
17. وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعَ طَرَائِقَ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ الْخَلْقِ غَافِلِينَ
Wa Laqad Khalaqnā Fawqakum Sab`a Ţarā’iqa Wa Mā Kunnā `Ani Al-Khalqi Ghāfilīna
23:17 And indeed, We (have) created above you seven paths and not We are of the creation unaware.
17. Wa laqad khalaqnaa fawqakum sab’a taraaa’iqa wa maa kunnaa ‘anil khalqi ghaafileen
18. وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً بِقَدَرٍ فَأَسْكَنَّاهُ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ ذَهَابٍ بِهِ لَقَادِرُونَ
Wa ‘Anzalnā Mina As-Samā’i Mā’an Biqadarin Fa’askannāhu Fī Al-‘Arđi Wa ‘Innā `Alá Dhahābin Bihi Laqādirūna
23:18 And We send down from the sky water, in (due) measure then We cause it to settle in the earth. And indeed, We, on taking away it, surely (are) Able.
18. Wa anzalnaa minas samaaa’i maaa’am biqadarin fa-askannaahu fil ardi wa innaa ‘alaa zahaabim bihee laqaa diroon
19. فَأَنْشَأْنَا لَكُمْ بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ مِنْ نَخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ لَكُمْ فِيهَا فَوَاكِهُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Fa’ansha’nā Lakum Bihi Jannātin Min Nakhīlin Wa ‘A`nābin Lakum Fīhā Fawākihu Kathīratun Wa Minhā Ta’kulūna
23:19 Then We produced for you by it gardens (of) date-palms and grapevines, for you, in it (are) fruits abundant and from them you eat.
19. Fa anshaanaa lakum bihee Jannaatim min nakheelinw wa a’naab; lakum feehaa fawaakihu kaseeratunw wa minhaa taakuloon
20. وَشَجَرَةً تَخْرُجُ مِنْ طُورِ سَيْنَاءَ تَنْبُتُ بِالدُّهْنِ وَصِبْغٍ لِلْآكِلِينَ
Wa Shajaratan Takhruju Min Ţūri Saynā’a Tanbutu Bid-Duhni Wa Şibghin Lil’ākilīna
23:20 And a tree (that) springs forth from Mount Sinai (which) produces oil and a relish for those who eat.
20. Wa shajaratan takhruju min Toori Sainaaa’a tambutu bidduhni wa sibghil lil aakileen
21. وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِي الْأَنْعَامِ لَعِبْرَةً ۖ نُسْقِيكُمْ مِمَّا فِي بُطُونِهَا وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ كَثِيرَةٌ وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Wa ‘Inna Lakum Fī Al-‘An`āmi La`ibratan Nusqīkum Mimmā Fī Buţūnihā Wa Lakum Fīhā Manāfi`u Kathīratun Wa Minhā Ta’kulūna
23:21 And indeed, for you in the cattle surely, (is) a lesson. We give you drink from what (is) in their bellies, and for you in them (are) benefits many and of them you eat.
21. Wa inna lakum fil an’aami la’ibrah; nusqeekum mimmaa fee butoonihaa wa lakum feehaa manaafi’u kaseeratunw wa minhaa taakuloon
22. وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
Wa `Alayhā Wa `Alá Al-Fulki Tuĥmalūna
23:22 And on them and on [the] ships you are carried.
22. Wa ‘alaihaa wa’alal fulki tuhmaloon (section 1)
23. وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Wa Laqad ‘Arsalnā Nūĥāan ‘Ilá Qawmihi Faqāla Yā Qawmi A`budū Al-Laha Mā Lakum Min ‘Ilahin Ghayruhu ‘Afalā Tattaqūna
23:23 And verily We sent Nuh to his people, and he said, “O my people! Worship Allah; not for you (is) any god other than Him. Then will not you fear?”
23. Wa laqad arsalnaa Noohan ilaa qawmihee faqaala yaa qawmi’budul laaha maa lakum min ilahin ghairuhoo afalaa tattaqoon
24. فَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَوْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ لَأَنْزَلَ مَلَائِكَةً مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِي آبَائِنَا الْأَوَّلِينَ
Faqāla Al-Mala’u Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Min Qawmihi Mā Hādhā ‘Illā Basharun Mithlukum Yurīdu ‘An Yatafađđala `Alaykum Wa Law Shā’a Al-Lahu La’anzala Malā’ikatan Mā Sami`nā Bihadhā Fī ‘Ābā’inā Al-‘Awwalīna
23:24 But said the chiefs (of) those who disbelieved among his people, “Not (is) this but a man like you, he wishes to assert (his) superiority over you, and if had willed Allah surely He (would have) sent down Angels. Not we heard of this from our forefathers (of) the former (people).
24. Faqaalal mala’ul lazeena kafaroo min qawmihee maa haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum yureedu ai yatafaddala ‘alaikum wa law shaaa’al laahu la anzala malaaa’ikatam maa sami’naa bihaazaa feee aabaaa’inal awwaleen
25. إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا بِهِ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
‘In Huwa ‘Illā Rajulun Bihi Jinnatun Fatarabbaşū Bihi Ĥattá Ĥīnin
23:25 Not he (is) but a man in him (is) madness, so wait concerning him until a time.“
25. In huwa illaa rajulum bihee jinnatun fatarabbasoo bihee hatta heen
26. قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
Qāla Rabbi Anşurnī Bimā Kadhdhabūni
23:26 He said, “My Lord! Help me because they deny me.“
26. Qaala Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon
27. فَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْهِ أَنِ اصْنَعِ الْفُلْكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا وَوَحْيِنَا فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُنَا وَفَارَ التَّنُّورُ ۙ فَاسْلُكْ فِيهَا مِنْ كُلٍّ زَوْجَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَهْلَكَ إِلَّا مَنْ سَبَقَ عَلَيْهِ الْقَوْلُ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَلَا تُخَاطِبْنِي فِي الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ مُغْرَقُونَ
Fa’awĥaynā ‘Ilayhi ‘Ani Aşna`i Al-Fulka Bi’a`yuninā Wa Waĥyinā Fa’idhā Jā’a ‘Amrunā Wa Fāra At-Tannūru Fāsluk Fīhā Min Kullin Zawjayni Athnayni Wa ‘Ahlaka ‘Illā Man Sabaqa `Alayhi Al-Qawlu Minhum Wa Lā Tukhāţibnī Fī Al-Ladhīna Žalamū ‘Innahum Mughraqūna
23:27 So We inspired to him, “That construct the ship under Our eyes, and Our inspiration, then when comes Our Command and gushes forth the oven, then put into it of every (kind) (of) mates two and your family, except those (has) preceded against whom the Word thereof. And (do) not address Me concerning those who wronged, indeed, they (are) the ones to be drowned.
27. Fa awhainaaa ilaihi anis na’il fulka bi a’yuninaa wa wahyinaa fa izaa jaaa’a amrunaa wa faarat tannooru fasluk feehaa min kullin zawjainis naini wa ahlaka illaa man sabaqa ‘alaihil qawlu minhum walaa tukhaatibnee fil lazeena zalamooo innaahum mughraqoon
28. فَإِذَا اسْتَوَيْتَ أَنْتَ وَمَنْ مَعَكَ عَلَى الْفُلْكِ فَقُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي نَجَّانَا مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Fa’idhā Astawayta ‘Anta Wa Man Ma`aka `Alá Al-Fulki Faquli Al-Ĥamdu Lillahi Al-Ladhī Najjānā Mina Al-Qawmi Až-Žālimīna
23:28 And when you (have) boarded you, and whoever (is) with you [on] the ship then say, “Praise (be) to Allah, Who (has) saved us from the people – the wrongdoers.”
28. Fa izas tawaita anta wa mam ma’aka ‘alal fulki faqulil hamdu lillaahil lazee najjaanaa minal qawmiz zalimeen
29. وَقُلْ رَبِّ أَنْزِلْنِي مُنْزَلًا مُبَارَكًا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنْزِلِينَ
Wa Qul Rabbi ‘Anzilnī Munzalāan Mubārakāan Wa ‘Anta Khayru Al-Munzilīna
23:29 And say, “My Lord, cause me to land (at) a landing place blessed, and You (are) the Best (of) those who cause to land.‘”
29. Wa qur Rabbi anzilnee munzalam mubaarakanw wa Anta khairul munzileen
30. إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ وَإِنْ كُنَّا لَمُبْتَلِينَ
‘Inna Fī Dhālika La’āyātin Wa ‘In Kunnā Lamubtalīna
23:30 Indeed, in that surely (are) Signs, and indeed, We are surely testing.
30. Inna fee zaalika la Aayaatinw wa in kunnaa lamubtaleen
31. ثُمَّ أَنْشَأْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ قَرْنًا آخَرِينَ
Thumma ‘Ansha’nā Min Ba`dihim Qarnāan ‘Ākharīna
23:31 Then We produced from after them a generation another.
31. Summaa anshaana mim ba’dihim qarnan aakhareen
32. فَأَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِنْهُمْ أَنِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Fa’arsalnā Fīhim Rasūlāan Minhum ‘Ani A`budū Al-Laha Mā Lakum Min ‘Ilahin Ghayruhu ‘Afalā Tattaqūna
23:32 And We sent among them a Messenger from themselves [that] “Worship Allah; not for you (is) any god other than Him. Then will not you fear?”
32. Fa arsalnaa feehim Rasoolam minhum ani’budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo afalaa tattaqoon (section 2)
33. وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَكَذَّبُوا بِلِقَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ وَأَتْرَفْنَاهُمْ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مَا هَٰذَا إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِثْلُكُمْ يَأْكُلُ مِمَّا تَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهُ وَيَشْرَبُ مِمَّا تَشْرَبُونَ
Wa Qāla Al-Mala’u Min Qawmihi Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Kadhdhabū Biliqā’i Al-‘Ākhirati Wa ‘Atrafnāhum Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Mā Hādhā ‘Illā Basharun Mithlukum Ya’kulu Mimmā Ta’kulūna Minhu Wa Yashrabu Mimmā Tashrabūna
23:33 And said the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and denied (the) meeting (of) the Hereafter, while We had given them luxury in the life (of) the world, “Not (is) this but a man like you. He eats of what you eat [from it], and he drinks of what you drink.
33. Wa qaalal mala-u min qawmihil lazeena kafaroo wa kazzaboo bi liqaaa’il Aakhirati wa atrafnaahum fil hayaatid dunyaa maa haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum yaakulu mimmaa taakuloona minhu wa yashrabu mimmaa tashraboon
34. وَلَئِنْ أَطَعْتُمْ بَشَرًا مِثْلَكُمْ إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَخَاسِرُونَ
Wa La’in ‘Aţa`tum Basharāan Mithlakum ‘Innakum ‘Idhāan Lakhāsirūna
23:34 And surely if you obey a man like you, indeed, you then surely (will be) losers.
34. Wa la’in at’atum basharam mislakum innakum izal lakhaasiroon
35. أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنْتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَنَّكُمْ مُخْرَجُونَ
‘Aya`idukum ‘Annakum ‘Idhā Mittum Wa Kuntum Turābāan Wa `Ižāmāan ‘Annakum Mukhrajūna
23:35 Does he promise you – that you when you are dead and you become dust and bones that you (will be) brought forth?
35. A-Ya’idukum annakum izaa mittum wa kuntum turaabanw wa izaaman annakum mukhrajoon
36. هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ
Hayhāta Hayhāta Limā Tū`adūna
23:36 Far-(fetched), far-(fetched) is what you are promised!
36. Haihaata haihaata limaa too’adoon
37. إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
‘In Hiya ‘Illā Ĥayātunā Ad-Dunyā Namūtu Wa Naĥyā Wa Mā Naĥnu Bimab`ūthīna
23:37 Not it (is) but our life (of) the world, we die and we live, and not we (will be) resurrected.
37. In hiya illaa hayaatunad dunyaa namootu wa nahyaa wa maa nahnu bimab’ooseen
38. إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا رَجُلٌ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا وَمَا نَحْنُ لَهُ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
‘In Huwa ‘Illā Rajulun Aftará `Alá Al-Lahi Kadhibāan Wa Mā Naĥnu Lahu Bimu’uminīna
23:38 Not (is) he but a man who (has) invented about Allah a lie, and not we (in) him (are) believers.”
38. In huwa illaa rajulunif taraa ‘alal laahi kazibanw wa maa nahnuu lahoo bimu’mineen
39. قَالَ رَبِّ انْصُرْنِي بِمَا كَذَّبُونِ
Qāla Rabbi Anşurnī Bimā Kadhdhabūni
23:39 He said, “My Lord! Help me because they deny me.”
39. Qaala Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon
40. قَالَ عَمَّا قَلِيلٍ لَيُصْبِحُنَّ نَادِمِينَ
Qāla `Ammā Qalīlin Layuşbiĥunna Nādimīna
23:40 He said, “After a while little surely they will become regretful.”
40. Qaala ‘ammaa qaleelil la yusbihunna naadimeen
41. فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّيْحَةُ بِالْحَقِّ فَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ غُثَاءً ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِلْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Fa’akhadhat/humu Aş-Şayĥatu Bil-Ĥaqqi Faja`alnāhum Ghuthā’an Fabu`dāan Lilqawmi Až-Žālimīna
23:41 So seized them the awful cry in truth, and We made them (as) rubbish of dead leaves. So away with the people – the wrongdoers.
41. Fa akhazat humus saihatu bilhaqqi faja’alnaahum ghusaaa’aa; fabu’dal lilqaw miz zaalimeen
42. ثُمَّ أَنْشَأْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ قُرُونًا آخَرِينَ
Thumma ‘Ansha’nā Min Ba`dihim Qurūnāan ‘Ākharīna
23:42 Then We produced from after them a generation another.
42. Summa anshaanaa mim ba’dihim quroonan aakhareen
43. مَا تَسْبِقُ مِنْ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلَهَا وَمَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ
Mā Tasbiqu Min ‘Ummatin ‘Ajalahā Wa Mā Yasta’khirūna
23:43 Not can precede any nation its term, and not they (can) delay (it).
43. Maa tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahaa wa maa yastaakhiroon
44. ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلَنَا تَتْرَىٰ ۖ كُلَّ مَا جَاءَ أُمَّةً رَسُولُهَا كَذَّبُوهُ ۚ فَأَتْبَعْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ بَعْضًا وَجَعَلْنَاهُمْ أَحَادِيثَ ۚ فَبُعْدًا لِقَوْمٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
Thumma ‘Arsalnā Rusulanā Tatrā Kulla Mā Jā’a ‘Ummatan Rasūluhā Kadhdhabūhu Fa’atba`nā Ba`đahum Ba`đāan Wa Ja`alnāhum ‘Aĥādītha Fabu`dāan Liqawmin Lā Yu’uminūna
23:44 Then We sent Our Messengers (in) succession. Every time that came (to) a nation its Messenger, they denied him, so We made (them) follow – some of them others, and We made them narrations. So away with a people – not they believe.
44. Summa arsalnaa Rusulanaa tatraa kulla maa jaaa’a ummatar Rasooluhaa kazzabooh; fa atba’naa ba’dahum ba’danw wa ja’alnaahum ahaadees; fabu’dal liqawmil laa yu’minoon
45. ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَأَخَاهُ هَارُونَ بِآيَاتِنَا وَسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ
Thumma ‘Arsalnā Mūsá Wa ‘Akhāhu Hārūna Bi’āyātinā Wa Sulţānin Mubīnin
23:45 Then We sent Musa and his brother Harun with Our Signs and an authority clear
45. Summa arsalnaa Moosaa wa akhaahu Haaroona bi Aayaatinaa wa sultaanim mubeen
46. إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا عَالِينَ
‘Ilá Fir`awna Wa Mala’ihi Fāstakbarū Wa Kānū Qawmāan `Ālīna
23:46 To Firaun and his chiefs, but they behaved arrogantly and they were a people haughty.
46. Ilaa Fir’awna wa mala’ihee fastakbaroo wa kaanoo qawman ‘aaleen
47. فَقَالُوا أَنُؤْمِنُ لِبَشَرَيْنِ مِثْلِنَا وَقَوْمُهُمَا لَنَا عَابِدُونَ
Faqālū ‘Anu’uminu Libasharayni Mithlinā Wa Qawmuhumā Lanā `Ābidūna
23:47 Then they said, “Shall we believe (in) two men like ourselves while their people for us (are) slaves.”
47. Faqaaloo annu’minu libasharaini mislinaa wa qawmuhumaa lanaa ‘aabidoon
48. فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَكَانُوا مِنَ الْمُهْلَكِينَ
Fakadhdhabūhumā Fakānū Mina Al-Muhlakīna
23:48 So they denied them and they became of those who were destroyed.
48. Fakazzaboohumaa fakaanoo minal muhlakeen
49. وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْكِتَابَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
Wa Laqad ‘Ātaynā Mūsá Al-Kitāba La`allahum Yahtadūna
23:49 And verily, We gave Musa the Scripture so that they may be guided.
49. Wa laqad aatainaa Moosal Kitaaba la’allahum yahtadoon
50. وَجَعَلْنَا ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَأُمَّهُ آيَةً وَآوَيْنَاهُمَا إِلَىٰ رَبْوَةٍ ذَاتِ قَرَارٍ وَمَعِينٍ
Wa Ja`alnā Abna Maryama Wa ‘Ummahu ‘Āyatan Wa ‘Āwaynāhumā ‘Ilá Rabwatin Dhāti Qarārin Wa Ma`īnin
23:50 And We made (the) son (of) Maryam and his mother a Sign, and We sheltered them to a high ground, full (of) tranquility and water springs.
50. Wa ja’alnab na Maryama wa ummahooo aayatannw wa aawainaahumaaa ilaa rabwatin zaati qaraarinw wa ma’een (section 3)
51. يَا أَيُّهَا الرُّسُلُ كُلُوا مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَاعْمَلُوا صَالِحًا ۖ إِنِّي بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ عَلِيمٌ
Yā ‘Ayyuhā Ar-Rusulu Kulū Mina Aţ-Ţayyibāti Wa A`malū Şāliĥāan ‘Innī Bimā Ta`malūna `Alīmun
23:51 O Messengers! Eat of the good things and do righteous (deeds). Indeed, I Am of what you do All-Knower.
51. Yaaa aiyuhar Rusulu kuloo minat taiyibaati wa’maloo saalihan innee bimaa ta’maloona ‘Aleem
52. وَإِنَّ هَٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاتَّقُونِ
Wa ‘Inna Hadhihi ‘Ummatukum ‘Ummatan Wāĥidatan Wa ‘Anā Rabbukum Fa Attaqūni
23:52 And indeed this, your religion, (is) religion one. And I Am your Lord, so fear Me.
52. Wa inna haaziheee ummatukum ummatanw waahidatanw wa Ana Rabbukum fattaqoon
53. فَتَقَطَّعُوا أَمْرَهُمْ بَيْنَهُمْ زُبُرًا ۖ كُلُّ حِزْبٍ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ فَرِحُونَ
Fataqaţţa`ū ‘Amrahum Baynahum Zuburāan Kullu Ĥizbin Bimā Ladayhim Fariĥūna
23:53 But they cut off their affair (of unity) between them (into) sects, each faction in what they have rejoicing.
53. Fataqatta’ooo amrahum bainahum zuburaa; kullu hizbim bimaa ladaihim farihoon
54. فَذَرْهُمْ فِي غَمْرَتِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
Fadharhum Fī Ghamratihim Ĥattá Ĥīnin
23:54 So leave them in their confusion until a time.
54. Fazarhum fee ghamratihim hattaa heen
55. أَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ
‘Ayaĥsabūna ‘Annamā Numidduhum Bihi Min Mālin Wa Banīna
23:55 Do they think that what We extend to them [with it] of wealth and children
55. A-yahsaboona annnamaa numiduhum bihee mimmaalinw wa baneen
56. نُسَارِعُ لَهُمْ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ ۚ بَلْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Nusāri`u Lahum Fī Al-Khayrāti Bal Lā Yash`urūna
23:56 We hasten to them in the good? Nay, not they perceive.
56. Nusaari’u lahum fil khairaat; bal laa yash’uroon
57. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ هُمْ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ رَبِّهِمْ مُشْفِقُونَ
‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Hum Min Khashyati Rabbihim Mushfiqūna
23:57 Indeed, those who [they] from (the) fear (of) their Lord (are) cautious.
57. Innal lazeena hum min khashyati Rabbihim mushfiqoon
58. وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ يُؤْمِنُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Hum Bi’āyāti Rabbihim Yu’uminūna
23:58 And those [they] in (the) Signs (of) their Lord believe
58. Wallazeena hum bi Aayaati Rabbihim yu’minoon
59. وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِرَبِّهِمْ لَا يُشْرِكُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Hum Birabbihim Lā Yushrikūna
23:59 And those [they] with their Lord (do) not associate partners.
59. Wallazeena hum bi Rabbihim laa yushrikoon
60. وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْتُونَ مَا آتَوْا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ رَاجِعُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Yu’utūna Mā ‘Ātaw Wa Qulūbuhum Wa Jilatun ‘Annahum ‘Ilá Rabbihim Rāji`ūna
23:60 And those who give what they give while their hearts (are) fearful, because they to their Lord (will) return
60. Wallazeena yu’toona maaa aataw wa quloobuhum wajilatun annahum ilaa Rabbihim raaji’oon
61. أُولَٰئِكَ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَهُمْ لَهَا سَابِقُونَ
‘Ūlā’ika Yusāri`ūna Fī Al-Khayrāti Wa Hum Lahā Sābiqūna
23:61 (It is) those who hasten in the good (deeds) and they in them (are) foremost.
61. Ulaaa’ika yusaari’oona fil khairaati wa hum lahaa saabiqoon
62. وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا ۖ وَلَدَيْنَا كِتَابٌ يَنْطِقُ بِالْحَقِّ ۚ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
Wa Lā Nukallifu Nafsāan ‘Illā Wus`ahā Wa Ladaynā Kitābun Yanţiqu Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Hum Lā Yužlamūn
23:62 And not We burden any soul except (to) its capacity, and with Us (is) a Record (which) speaks with the truth; and they (will) not be wronged.
62. Wa laa nukallifu nafsan illaa wus’ahaa wa ladainaa kitaabuny yantiqu bilhaqqi wa hum la yuzlamoon
63. بَلْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فِي غَمْرَةٍ مِنْ هَٰذَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْمَالٌ مِنْ دُونِ ذَٰلِكَ هُمْ لَهَا عَامِلُونَ
Bal Qulūbuhum Fī Ghamratin Min Hādhā Wa Lahum ‘A`mālun Min Dūni Dhālika Hum Lahā `Āmilūna
23:63 Nay, their hearts (are) in confusion over this, and for them (are) deeds from besides that, they for it (are) doers
63. Bal quloobuhum fee ghamratim min haazaa wa lahum a’maalum min dooni zaalika hum lahaa ‘aamiloon
64. حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَخَذْنَا مُتْرَفِيهِمْ بِالْعَذَابِ إِذَا هُمْ يَجْأَرُونَ
Ĥattá ‘Idhā ‘Akhadhnā Mutrafīhim Bil-`Adhābi ‘Idhā Hum Yaj’arūna
23:64 Until when We seize their affluent ones with the punishment, behold! They cry for help.
64. Hattaaa izaaa akhaznaa mutrafeehim bil’azaabi izaa hum yaj’aroon
65. لَا تَجْأَرُوا الْيَوْمَ ۖ إِنَّكُمْ مِنَّا لَا تُنْصَرُونَ
Lā Taj’arū Al-Yawma ‘Innakum Minnā Lā Tunşarūna
23:65 “(Do) not cry for help today. Indeed, you from Us not will be helped.
65. Laa taj’arul yawma innakum minnaa laa tunsaroon
66. قَدْ كَانَتْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنْتُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ تَنْكِصُونَ
Qad Kānat ‘Āyātī Tutlá `Alaykum Fakuntum `Alá ‘A`qābikum Tankişūna
23:66 Verily, were My Verses recited to you, but you used (to) on your heels turn back
66. Qad kaanat Aayaatee tutlaa ‘alaikum fakuntum ‘alaaa a’qaabikum tankisoon
67. مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِ سَامِرًا تَهْجُرُونَ
Mustakbirīna Bihi Sāmirāan Tahjurūna
23:67 (Being) arrogant about it, conversing by night, speaking evil.”
67. Mustakbireena bihee saamiran tahjuroon
68. أَفَلَمْ يَدَّبَّرُوا الْقَوْلَ أَمْ جَاءَهُمْ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِ آبَاءَهُمُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
‘Afalam Yaddabbarū Al-Qawla ‘Am Jā’ahum Mā Lam Ya’ti ‘Ābā’ahumu Al-‘Awwalīna
23:68 Then, do not they ponder the Word or has come to them what not (had) come (to) their forefathers (of) the former (people)
68. Afalam yaddabbarrul qawla am jaaa’ahum maa lam yaati aabaaa’ahumul awwaleen
69. أَمْ لَمْ يَعْرِفُوا رَسُولَهُمْ فَهُمْ لَهُ مُنْكِرُونَ
‘Am Lam Ya`rifū Rasūlahum Fahum Lahu Munkirūna
23:69 Or (do) not they recognize their Messenger, so they him (are) rejecting?
69. Am lam ya’rifoo Rasoolahum fahum lahoo munkiroon
70. أَمْ يَقُولُونَ بِهِ جِنَّةٌ ۚ بَلْ جَاءَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ لِلْحَقِّ كَارِهُونَ
‘Am Yaqūlūna Bihi Jinnatun Bal Jā’ahum Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa ‘Aktharuhum Lilĥaqqi Kārihūna
23:70 Or they say, “In him (is) madness?” Nay, he brought them the truth, but most of them to the truth, (are) averse.
70. Am yaqooloona bihee jinnnah; bal jaaa’ahum bilhaqqi wa aksaruhum lil haqqi kaarihoon
71. وَلَوِ اتَّبَعَ الْحَقُّ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ لَفَسَدَتِ السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ ۚ بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُمْ بِذِكْرِهِمْ فَهُمْ عَنْ ذِكْرِهِمْ مُعْرِضُونَ
Wa Lawi Attaba`a Al-Ĥaqqu ‘Ahwā’ahum Lafasadati As-Samāwātu Wa Al-‘Arđu Wa Man Fīhinna Bal ‘Ataynāhum Bidhikrihim Fahum `An Dhikrihim Mu`riđūna
23:71 But if (had) followed the truth their desires, surely (would) have been corrupted the heavens and the earth and whoever (is) therein. Nay, We have brought them their reminder, but they, from their reminder, (are) turning away.
71. Wa lawit taba’al haqqu ahwaaa’ahum lafasadatis samaawaatu wal ardu wa man feehinnn; bal atainaahum bizikrihim fahum ‘an zikrihim mu’ridoon
72. أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ خَرْجًا فَخَرَاجُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ
‘Am Tas’aluhum Kharjāan Fakharāju Rabbika Khayrun Wa Huwa Khayru Ar-Rāziqīna
23:72 Or you ask them (for) a payment? But the payment (of) your Lord (is) best, and He (is) the Best (of) the Providers.
72. Am tas’aluhum kharjan fakharaaju Rabbika khairunw wa Huwa khairur raaziqeen
73. وَإِنَّكَ لَتَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ
Wa ‘Innaka Latad`ūhum ‘Ilá Şirāţin Mustaqīmin
23:73 And indeed, you certainly call them to (the) Path Straight.
73. Wa innaka latad’oohum ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem
74. وَإِنَّ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْآخِرَةِ عَنِ الصِّرَاطِ لَنَاكِبُونَ
Wa ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Lā Yu’uminūna Bil-‘Ākhirati `Ani Aş-Şirāţi Lanākibūna
23:74 And indeed, those who (do) not believe in the Hereafter from the path surely (are) deviating.
74. Wa innnal lazeena laa yu’minoona bil Aakhirati ‘anis siraati lanaakiboon
75. وَلَوْ رَحِمْنَاهُمْ وَكَشَفْنَا مَا بِهِمْ مِنْ ضُرٍّ لَلَجُّوا فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
Wa Law Raĥimnāhum Wa Kashafnā Mā Bihim Min Đurrin Lalajjū Fī Ţughyānihim Ya`mahūna
23:75 And if We had mercy on them and We removed what (was) on them of (the) hardship, surely they would persist in their transgression wandering blindly.
75. Wa law rahimnaahum wa kashafnaa maa bihim min durril lalajjoo fee tughyaanihim ya’mahoon
76. وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْعَذَابِ فَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا لِرَبِّهِمْ وَمَا يَتَضَرَّعُونَ
Wa Laqad ‘Akhadhnāhum Bil-`Adhābi Famā Astakānū Lirabbihim Wa Mā Yatađarra`ūna
23:76 And verily We seized them with the punishment but not they submit to their Lord and not they supplicate humbly
76. Wa laqad akhaznaahum bil’azaabi famastakaanoo li Rabbihim wa maa yatadarra’oon
77. حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَابًا ذَا عَذَابٍ شَدِيدٍ إِذَا هُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ
Ĥattá ‘Idhā Fataĥnā `Alayhim Bābāan Dhā `Adhābin Shadīdin ‘Idhā Hum Fīhi Mublisūna
23:77 Until when We opened for them a gate of a punishment severe, behold! They in it (will be in) despair.
77. Hattaaa izaa fatahnaa ‘alaihim baaban zaa ‘azaabin shadeedin izaa hum feehi mublisoon (section 4)
78. وَهُوَ الَّذِي أَنْشَأَ لَكُمُ السَّمْعَ وَالْأَبْصَارَ وَالْأَفْئِدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَا تَشْكُرُونَ
Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī ‘Ansha’a Lakumu As-Sam`a Wa Al-‘Abşāra Wa Al-‘Af’idata Qalīlāan Mā Tashkurūna
23:78 And He (is) the One Who produced for you the hearing and the sight and the feeling; little (is) what you give thanks.
78. Wa Huwal lazeee ansha a-lakumus sam’a wal absaara wal af’idah; qaleelam maa tashkuroon
79. وَهُوَ الَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Dhara’akum Fī Al-‘Arđi Wa ‘Ilayhi Tuĥsharūna
23:79 And He (is) the One Who multiplied you in the earth and to Him you will be gathered.
79. Wa Huwal lazee zara akum fil ardi wa ilaihi tuhsharoon
80. وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَلَهُ اخْتِلَافُ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Wa Huwa Al-Ladhī Yuĥyī Wa Yumītu Wa Lahu Akhtilāfu Al-Layli Wa An-Nahāri ‘Afalā Ta`qilūna
23:80 And He (is) the One Who gives life and causes death and for Him (is the) alternation (of) the night and the day. Then will not you reason?
80. Wa Huwal lazee yuhyee wa yumeetu wa lahukh tilaaful laili wannahaar; afalaa ta’qiloon
81. بَلْ قَالُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْأَوَّلُونَ
Bal Qālū Mithla Mā Qāla Al-‘Awwalūna
23:81 Nay, they say (the) like (of) what said the former (people).
81. Bal qaaloo misla maa qaalal awwaloon
82. قَالُوا أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
Qālū ‘A’idhā Mitnā Wa Kunnā Turābāan Wa `Ižāmāan ‘A’innā Lamab`ūthūna
23:82 They said, “What! When we are dead and become dust and bones, would we surely be resurrected?
82. Qaalooo ‘a-izaa mitnaa wa kunnaa turaabanw wa ‘izaaman ‘a-innaa lamab ‘oosoon
83. لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
Laqad Wu`idnā Naĥnu Wa ‘Ābā’uunā Hādhā Min Qablu ‘In Hādhā ‘Illā ‘Asāţīru Al-‘Awwalīna
23:83 Verily, we have been promised [we] and our forefathers this from before; not (is) this but (the) tales (of) the former (people).”
83. Laqad wu’idnaa nahnu wa aabaaa’unaa haazaa min qablu in haazaaa illaaa asaateerul awwaleen
84. قُلْ لِمَنِ الْأَرْضُ وَمَنْ فِيهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Qul Limani Al-‘Arđu Wa Man Fīhā ‘In Kuntum Ta`lamūna
23:84 Say, “To whom (belongs) the earth and whoever (is) in it, if you know?”
84. Qul limanil ardu wa man feehaaa in kuntum ta’lamoon
85. سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
Sayaqūlūna Lillahi Qul ‘Afalā Tadhakkarūna
23:85 They will say, “To Allah.” Say, “Then will not you remember?”
85. Sa-yaqooloona lillaah; qul afalaa tazakkkaroon
86. قُلْ مَنْ رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
Qul Man Rabbu As-Samāwāti As-Sab`i Wa Rabbu Al-`Arshi Al-`Ažīmi
23:86 Say, “Who (is the) Lord (of) the heavens seven and (the) Lord (of) the Throne the Great?”
86. Qul mar Rabbus samaawaatis sab’i wa Rabbul ‘Arshil ‘Azeem
87. سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
Sayaqūlūna Lillahi Qul ‘Afalā Tattaqūna
23:87 They will say, “Allah.” Say, “Then will not you fear (Him)?”
87. Sa yaqooloona lillaah; qul afalaa tattaqoon
88. قُلْ مَنْ بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ يُجِيرُ وَلَا يُجَارُ عَلَيْهِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Qul Man Biyadihi Malakūtu Kulli Shay’in Wa Huwa Yujīru Wa Lā Yujāru `Alayhi ‘In Kuntum Ta`lamūn
23:88 Say, Who is (it) in Whose Hand(s) (is the) dominion (of) all things, and He protects and no (one) (can) be protected against Him, If you know?”
88. Qul mam bi yadihee malakootu kulli shai’inw wa Huwa yujeeru wa laa yujaaru ‘alaihi in kuntum ta’lamoon
89. سَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّهِ ۚ قُلْ فَأَنَّىٰ تُسْحَرُونَ
Sayaqūlūna Lillahi Qul Fa’annā Tusĥarūna
23:89 They will say, “Allah.” Say, “Then how are you deluded?“
89. Sa yaqooloona lillaah; qul fa annaa tus haroon
90. بَلْ أَتَيْنَاهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ
Bal ‘Ataynāhum Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa ‘Innahum Lakādhibūna
23:90 Nay, We (have) brought them the truth, but indeed, they surely, (are) liars.
90. Bal atainaahum bil haqqi wa innahum lakaaziboon
91. مَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ مِنْ وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ ۚ إِذًا لَذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَٰهٍ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلَا بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ ۚ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
Mā Attakhadha Al-Lahu Min Waladin Wa Mā Kāna Ma`ahu Min ‘Ilahin ‘Idhāan Ladhahaba Kullu ‘Ilahin Bimā Khalaqa Wa La`alā Ba`đuhum `Alá Ba`đin Subĥāna Al-Lahi `Ammā Yaşifūna
23:91 Not has taken Allah any son, and not is with Him any god. Then surely (would have) taken away each god what he created, and surely would have overpowered, some of them [on] others. Glory be (to) Allah above what they attribute!
91. Mat takhazal laahu minw waladinw wa maa kaana ma’ahoo min ilaah; izal lazahaba kullu ilaahim bimaa khalaqa wa la’alaa ba’duhum ‘alaa ba’d; Subhaannal laahi ‘ammaa yasifoon
92. عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
`Ālimi Al-Ghaybi Wa Ash-Shahādati Fata`ālá `Ammā Yushrikūna
23:92 Knower (of) the unseen and the witnessed, exalted is He above what they associate.
92. ‘Aalimil Ghaibi wash shahhaadati fata’aalaa ‘ammaa yushrikoon (section 5)
93. قُلْ رَبِّ إِمَّا تُرِيَنِّي مَا يُوعَدُونَ
Qul Rabbi ‘Immā Turiyannī Mā Yū`adūna
23:93 Say, “My Lord! If You should show me what they are promised
93. Qur Rabbi immmaa turiyannee maa yoo’adoon
94. رَبِّ فَلَا تَجْعَلْنِي فِي الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Rabbi Falā Taj`alnī Fī Al-Qawmi Až-Žālimīna
23:94 My Lord, then (do) not place me among the people – the wrongdoers.“
94. Rabbi falaa taj’alnee fil qawmiz zaalimeen
95. وَإِنَّا عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُرِيَكَ مَا نَعِدُهُمْ لَقَادِرُونَ
Wa ‘Innā `Alá ‘An Nuriyaka Mā Na`iduhum Laqādirūna
23:95 And indeed We on that We show you what We have promised them surely able.
95. Wa innaa ‘alaaa an nuriyaka maa na’iduhum laqaadiroon
96. ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ السَّيِّئَةَ ۚ نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَصِفُونَ
Adfa` Bil-Atī Hiya ‘Aĥsanu As-Sayyi’ata Naĥnu ‘A`lamu Bimā Yaşifūna
23:96 Repel by that which (is) best – the evil. We know best of what they attribute.
96. Idfa’ billate hiya ahsanus saiyi’ah; nahnu a’lamu bimaa yasifoon
97. وَقُلْ رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ الشَّيَاطِينِ
Wa Qul Rabbi ‘A`ūdhu Bika Min Hamazāti Ash-Shayāţīni
23:97 And say, “My Lord! I seek refuge in You from (the) suggestions (of) the evil ones,
97. Wa qur Rabbi a’oozu bika min hamazaatish Shayaateen
98. وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ
Wa ‘A`ūdhu Bika Rabbi ‘An Yaĥđurūni
23:98 And I seek refuge in You, My Lord! Lest they be present with me.“
98. Wa a’oozu bika Rabbi ai-yahduroon
99. حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَهُمُ الْمَوْتُ قَالَ رَبِّ ارْجِعُونِ
Ĥattá ‘Idhā Jā’a ‘Aĥadahumu Al-Mawtu Qāla Rabbi Arji`ūni
23:99 Until when comes (to) one of them the death he says, “My Lord! Send me back
99. Hattaaa izaa jaaa’a ahada humul mawtu qaala Rabbir ji’oon
100. لَعَلِّي أَعْمَلُ صَالِحًا فِيمَا تَرَكْتُ ۚ كَلَّا ۚ إِنَّهَا كَلِمَةٌ هُوَ قَائِلُهَا ۖ وَمِنْ وَرَائِهِمْ بَرْزَخٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
La`allī ‘A`malu Şāliĥāan Fīmā Taraktu Kallā ‘Innahā Kalimatun Huwa Qā’iluhā Wa Min Warā’ihim Barzakhun ‘Ilá Yawmi Yub`athūna
23:100 That I may do righteous (deeds) in what I left behind.” No! Indeed, it (is) a word he speaks it, and from and before them (is) a barrier till (the) Day they are resurrected.
100. La’alleee a’malu saalihan feemaa taraktu kallaa; innahaa kalimatun huwa qaaa’iluhaa wa minw waraaa’ihim barzakhun ilaa Yawmi yub’asoon
101. فَإِذَا نُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَلَا أَنْسَابَ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَلَا يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
Fa’idhā Nufikha Fī Aş-Şūri Falā ‘Ansāba Baynahum Yawma’idhin Wa Lā Yatasā’alūna
23:101 So when is blown in the trumpet then not (there) will be relationship among them that Day, and not will they ask each other.
101. Fa izaa nufikha fis Soori falaaa ansaaba bainahum yawma’izinw wa laa yatasaaa’aloon
102. فَمَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
Faman Thaqulat Mawāzīnuhu Fa’ūlā’ika Humu Al-Mufliĥūna
23:102 Then (the one) whose (are) heavy his scales, then those – they (are) the successful.
102. Faman saqulat mawaazee nuhoo fa ulaaa’ika humul muflihoon
103. وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ فِي جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدُونَ
Wa Man Khaffat Mawāzīnuhu Fa’ūlā’ika Al-Ladhīna Khasirū ‘Anfusahum Fī Jahannama Khālidūna
23:103 But (the one) whose (are) light his scales, then those they [who] have lost their souls, in Hell they (will) abide forever.
103. Wa man khaffat mawaa zeenuhoo fa ulaaa’ikal lazeena khasiroo ‘anfusahum fee Jahannama khaalidoon
104. تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمُ النَّارُ وَهُمْ فِيهَا كَالِحُونَ
Talfaĥu Wujūhahumu An-Nāru Wa Hum Fīhā Kāliĥūna
23:104 Will burn their faces the Fire, and they in it (will) grin with displaced lips.
104. Talfahu wujoohahumun Naaru wa hum feehaa kaalihoon
105. أَلَمْ تَكُنْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَكُنْتُمْ بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
‘Alam Takun ‘Āyātī Tutlá `Alaykum Fakuntum Bihā Tukadhdhibūna
23:105 “Not was My Verses recited to you, and you used (to) them deny?”
105. Alam takun Aayaatee tutlaa ‘alaikum fakuntum bihaa tukazziboon
106. قَالُوا رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا شِقْوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوْمًا ضَالِّينَ
Qālū Rabbanā Ghalabat `Alaynā Shiqwatunā Wa Kunnā Qawmāan Đāllīna
23:106 They (will) say, “Our Lord! Overcame [on] us our wretchedness, and we were a people astray.
106. Qaaloo Rabbanaa ghalabat ‘alainaa shiqwatunaa wa kunnaa qawman daaalleen
107. رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْهَا فَإِنْ عُدْنَا فَإِنَّا ظَالِمُونَ
Rabbanā ‘Akhrijnā Minhā Fa’in `Udnā Fa’innā Žālimūna
23:107 Our Lord! Bring us out from it, then if we return then indeed, we (would be) wrongdoers.”
107. Rabbanaa akhrijnaa minhaa fa in ‘udnaa fa innaa zaalimoon
108. قَالَ اخْسَئُوا فِيهَا وَلَا تُكَلِّمُونِ
Qāla Akhsa’ū Fīhā Wa Lā Tukallimūni
23:108 He (will) say, “Remain despised in it and (do) not speak to Me.“
108. Qaalakh sa’oo feehaa wa laa tukallimoon
109. إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِنْ عِبَادِي يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
‘Innahu Kāna Farīqun Min `Ibādī Yaqūlūna Rabbanā ‘Āmannā Fāghfir Lanā Wa Arĥamnā Wa ‘Anta Khayru Ar-Rāĥimīna
23:109 Indeed, (there) was a party of My slaves (who) said, “Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us and have mercy on us, and You (are) best (of) those who show mercy.“
109. Innahoo kaana fareequm min ‘ibaadee yaqooloona Rabbanaaa aamannaa faghfir lanaa warhamnaa wa Anta khairur raahimeen
110. فَاتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰ أَنْسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِي وَكُنْتُمْ مِنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ
Fāttakhadhtumūhum Sikhrīyāan Ĥattá ‘Ansawkum Dhikrī Wa Kuntum Minhum Tađĥakūna
23:110 But you took them (in) mockery until they made you forget My remembrance, and you used (to) at them laugh.
110. Fattakhaztumoohum sikhriyyan hattaaa ansawkum zikree wa kuntum minhum tadhakoon
111. إِنِّي جَزَيْتُهُمُ الْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ
‘Innī Jazaytuhumu Al-Yawma Bimā Şabarū ‘Annahum Humu Al-Fā’izūna
23:111 Indeed, I have rewarded them this Day because they were patient, indeed, they [they] (are) the successful ones.
111. Inee jazaituhumul Yawma bimaa sabarooo annahum humul faaa’izoon
112. قَالَ كَمْ لَبِثْتُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ عَدَدَ سِنِينَ
Qāla Kam Labithtum Fī Al-‘Arđi `Adada Sinīna
23:112 He will say, “How long did you remain in the earth, (in) number (of) years?”
112. Qaala kam labistum fil ardi ‘adada sineen
113. قَالُوا لَبِثْنَا يَوْمًا أَوْ بَعْضَ يَوْمٍ فَاسْأَلِ الْعَادِّينَ
Qālū Labithnā Yawmāan ‘Aw Ba`đa Yawmin Fās’ali Al-`Āddīna
23:113 They will say, “We remained a day or a part (of) a day; but ask those who keep count.“
113. Qaaloo labisnaa yawman aw ba’da yawmin fas’alil ‘aaaddeen
114. قَالَ إِنْ لَبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا ۖ لَوْ أَنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Qāla ‘In Labithtum ‘Illā Qalīlāan Law ‘Annakum Kuntum Ta`lamūna
23:114 He will say, “Not you stayed but a little, if only you [you] knew.
114. Qaala il labistum illaa qaleelal law annakum kuntum ta’lamoon
115. أَفَحَسِبْتُمْ أَنَّمَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ عَبَثًا وَأَنَّكُمْ إِلَيْنَا لَا تُرْجَعُونَ
‘Afaĥasibtum ‘Annamā Khalaqnākum `Abathāan Wa ‘Annakum ‘Ilaynā Lā Turja`ūna
23:115 Then did you think that We created you uselessly and that you to Us not will be returned?”
115. Afahasibtum annamaa khalaqnaakum ‘abasanw wa annakum ilainaa laa turja’oon
116. فَتَعَالَى اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ
Fata`ālá Al-Lahu Al-Maliku Al-Ĥaqqu Lā ‘Ilāha ‘Illā Huwa Rabbu Al-`Arshi Al-Karīmi
23:116 So exalted is Allah, the King, the Truth. (There is) no god except Him, (the) Lord (of) the Throne Honorable.
116. Fata’aalal laahul Malikul Haqq; laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa Rabbul ‘Arshil Kareem
117. وَمَنْ يَدْعُ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا آخَرَ لَا بُرْهَانَ لَهُ بِهِ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْكَافِرُونَ
Wa Man Yad`u Ma`a Al-Lahi ‘Ilahāan ‘Ākhara Lā Burhāna Lahu Bihi Fa’innamā Ĥisābuhu `Inda Rabbihi ‘Innahu Lā Yufliĥu Al-Kāfirūna
23:117 And whoever invokes with Allah god other, no proof for him in it. Then only his account (is) with his Lord. Indeed, [he] not will succeed the disbelievers.
117. Wa mai yad’u ma’allaahi ilaahan aakhara laa burhaana lahoo bihee fa inna maa hisaabuhoo ‘inda Rabbih; innahoo laa yuflihul kaafiroon
118. وَقُلْ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Wa Qul Rabbi Aghfir Wa Arĥam Wa ‘Anta Khayru Ar-Rāĥimīna
23:118 And say, “My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, and You (are the) Best (of) those who show mercy.”
118. Wa qul Rabbigh fir warham wa Anta khairur raahimeen (section 6)
