بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

Ayah 1. ‘AlifLāmMīm
3:1  Alif Laam Meem.
1. Alif-Laam-Meeem

2. اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
Ayah 2. Allāhu ‘Ilāha ‘Illā Huwa Al-Ĥayyu Al-Qayyūmu
3:2  Allah! There is no God except Him, the Ever-Living the Sustainer of all that exists.
2. Allaahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal Haiyul Qaiyoom

3. نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنْزَلَ التَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنْجِيلَ
Ayah 3. Nazzala `Alayka Al-Kitāba Bil-Ĥaqqi Muşaddiqāan Limā Bayna Yadayhi Wa ‘Anzala At-Tawrāata Wa Al-‘Injīla

3:3  He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book with the truth confirming that which is between hands (i.e., came before it) and He revealed the Taurat and the Injeel
3. Nazzala ‘alaikal Kitaaba bilhaqqi musaddiqal limaa baina yadaihi wa anzalat Tawraata wal Injeel

4. مِنْ قَبْلُ هُدًى لِلنَّاسِ وَأَنْزَلَ الْفُرْقَانَ ۗ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ ذُو انْتِقَامٍ
Ayah 4. Min Qablu Hudáan Lilnnāsi Wa ‘Anzala Al-Furqāna ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Bi’āyāti Allāhi Lahum `Adhābun Shadīdun Wa Allāhu `Azīzun Dhū Antiqāmin

3:4  from before (i.e., previously) as guidance for the humankind. And He revealed the Criterion ˹to distinguish between right and wrong˺. Surely, those who disbelieve in the revelations of Allah, for them is a severe punishment. And Allah is All-Mighty, Owner of Retribution.

4. Min qablu hudal linnaasi wa anzalal Furqaan; innallazeena kafaroo bi Aayaatil laahi lahum ‘azaabun shadeed; wallaahu ‘azeezun zun tiqaam

5. إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَيْهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ
Ayah 5. ‘Inna Allāha Yakhfá `Alayhi Shay’un Al-‘Arđi Wa Lā As-Samā’i

3:5  Indeed, from Allahnothing is hidden from Him, ˹whether it be˺ anything in the earth and nor ˹anything˺ in the heaven

5. Innal laaha laa yakhfaa ‘alaihi shai’un fil ardi wa laa fis samaaa’

6. هُوَ الَّذِي يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِي الْأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ ۚ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Ayah 6. Huwa Al-Ladhī Yuşawwirukum Al-‘Arĥāmi Kayfa Yashā’u IlāhaIllā Huwa Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu
3:6  He ˹Allah˺ is the One Who shapes you in the wombs (i.e., of your mothers) how ever He wills. There is no god except Him ˹Allah˺, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.

6. Huwal lazee yusawwirukum fil arhaami kaifa yashaaa’; laa ilaaha illaa Huwal ‘Azeezul Hakeem

7. هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُحْكَمَاتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَابِهَاتٌ ۖ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ ابْتِغَاءَ الْفِتْنَةِ وَابْتِغَاءَ تَأْوِيلِهِ ۗ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۗ وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي الْعِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ كُلٌّ مِنْ عِنْدِ رَبِّنَا ۗ وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلَّا أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ
Ayah 7. Huwa Al-LadhīAnzala `Alayka Al-Kitāba MinhuĀyātun Muĥkamātun HunnaUmmu Al-Kitābi Wa ‘Ukharu Mutashābihātun Fa’ammā Al-Ladhīna Qulūbihim Zayghun Fayattabi`ūna Tashābaha Minhu Abtighā’a Al-Fitnati Wa Abtighā’a Ta’wīlihi Wa Mā Ya`lamu Ta’wīlahu ‘Illā Allāhu Wa Ar-Rāsikhūna Al-`Ilmi Yaqūlūna ‘Āmannā Bihi Kullun Min `Indi Rabbinā Wa Mā YadhdhakkaruIllā ‘Ūlū Al-‘Albābi
3:7  He ˹Allah˺ is the One Who revealed the Book to you ˹O Prophet˺, from it are Verses absolutely clear, they are the foundation of the Book, and others are allegorical. Then as for those with deviation in their heartsthen they follow what is allegorical of it, seeking conflict and seeking its (i.e, allegorical verses) interpretation. And none knows its interpretation except Allah. And those well-grounded in the knowledge, they say, “We believe in it (i.e., the Quran) that all of it is from our Lord ˹Allah˺.And none will be mindful ˹of this˺ except people of understanding.

7. Huwal lazeee anzala ‘alaikal Kitaaba minhu Aayaatum Muh kamaatun hunna Ummul Kitaabi wa ukharu Mutashaabihaatun fa’ammal lazeena fee quloobihim zaiyghun fa yattabi’oona ma tashaabaha minhubtighaaa ‘alfitnati wabtighaaa’a taaweelih; wa maa ya’lamu taaweelahooo illal laah; warraasikhoona fil ‘ilmi yaqooloona aamannaa bihee kullum min ‘indi Rabbinaa; wa maa yazzakkaru illaaa ulul albaab

8. رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ
Ayah 8. Rabbanā Tuzigh Qulūbanā Ba`daIdh Hadaytanā Wa Hab Lanā Min Ladunka RaĥmatanInnakaAnta Al-Wahhābu
3:8 ˹They say,˺ “Our Lord! do not deviate our hearts after when You have guided us, and grant us mercy from Yourself. Indeed You, You are the Giver ˹of all bounties˺.
8. Rabbanaa laa tuzigh quloobanaa ba’da iz hadaitanaa wa hab lanaa mil ladunka rahmah; innaka antal Wahhaab

9. رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ النَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ
Ayah 9. Rabbanā ‘Innaka Jāmi`u An-Nāsi Liyawmin Rayba FīhiInna Allāha Yukhlifu Al-Mī`āda
3:9  Our Lord! Indeed, You will gather the mankind on a Day, about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not break the Promise.
9. Rabbanaaa innaka jaami ‘un-naasi li Yawmin laa raiba feeh; innal laaha laa yukhliful mee’aad (section 1)

10. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَنْ تُغْنِيَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ النَّارِ
Ayah 10. ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lan Tughniya `AnhumAmwāluhum Wa Lā ‘Awlāduhum Mina Allāhi Shay’āan Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Hum Wa Qūdu An-Nāri
3:10  Indeed, those who disbelieve, neither their wealth and nor their children will benefit to them in anything against Allah, and those are they, the fuel for the Fire.
10. Innal lazeena kafaroo lan tughniya ‘anhum amwaaluhum wa laaa awlaaduhum minal laahi shai’anw wa ulaaa’ika hum waqoodun Naar

11. كَدَأْبِ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَالَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ
Ayah 11. KKada’bi ‘Āli Fir`awna Wa Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Kadhdhabū Bi’āyātinā Fa’akhadhahumu Allāhu Bidhunūbihim Wa Allāhu Shadīdu Al-`Iqābi
3:11  ˹theirs is˺ like the case of the people of firaun and those who were from before them. They denied Our Signs, so Allah seized them for their sins. And Allah is severe in punishment.
11. Kadaabi Aali Fir’awna wallazeena min qablihim; kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa fa akhazahumul laahu bizunoo bihim; wallaahu shadeedul ‘iqaab

12. قُلْ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ ۚ وَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ
Ayah 12. Qul Lilladhīna Kafarū Satughlabūna Wa Tuĥsharūna ‘Ilá Jahannama Wa Bi’sa Al-Mihādu
3:12 ˹O Prophet˺ Say to those who disbelieve, “you will be overpowered and you will be driven to Hell, and an evil is the resting place.
12. Qul lillazeena kafaroosatughlaboona wa tuhsharoona ilaa jahannam; wa bi’sal mihaad

13. قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ آيَةٌ فِي فِئَتَيْنِ الْتَقَتَا ۖ فِئَةٌ تُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَأُخْرَىٰ كَافِرَةٌ يَرَوْنَهُمْ مِثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْيَ الْعَيْنِ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لِأُولِي الْأَبْصَارِ
Ayah 13. QQad Kāna Lakum Āyatun Fi’atayni At-Taqatā Fi’atun Tuqātilu Sabīli Allāhi Wa ‘Ukhrá Kāfiratun Yarawnahum Mithlayhim Ra’ya Al-`Ayni Wa Allāhu Yu’uayyidu Binaşrihi Man Yashā’uInna Dhālika La`ibratan Li’wlī Al-‘Abşāri
3:13  Surely it was a sign for you in the two armies which met ˹in a battle˺, one group fighting in the way of Allah and the other were disbelievers. They were seeing them twice of them with the sight of their eyes. And Allah with His help supports whoever He wills. Indeed, in that surely is a lesson for the people of vision.
13. Qad kaana lakum Aayatun fee fi’atainil taqataa fi’atun tuqaatilu fee sabeelil laahi wa ukhraa kaafiratuny yarawnahum mislaihim ra’ yal ‘ayn; wallaahu yu’ayyidu bi nasrihee mai yashaaa’; innaa fee zaalika la ‘ibratal li ulil absaar

14. زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ وَالْقَنَاطِيرِ الْمُقَنْطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَالْخَيْلِ الْمُسَوَّمَةِ وَالْأَنْعَامِ وَالْحَرْثِ ۗ ذَٰلِكَ مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَاللَّهُ عِنْدَهُ حُسْنُ الْمَآبِ
Ayah 14. Zuyyina Lilnnāsi Ĥubbu Ash-Shahawāti Mina An-Nisā’ Wa Al-Banīna Wa Al-Qanāţīri Al-Muqanţarati Mina Adh-Dhahabi Wa Al-Fiđđati Wa Al-Khayli Al-Musawwamati Wa Al-‘An`āmi Wa Al-Ĥarthi Dhālika Matā`u Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Allāhu `Indahu Ĥusnu Al-Ma’ābi
3:14  Beautified for humankind is love for the desire of the women and the sons and treasures stored up of the gold and the silver, and the branded horses, and the cattle and the farmland. That is the enjoyment of the worldly life, but Allah – has with Him the best place to return.

14. Zuyyina linnaasi hubbush shahawaati minannisaaa’i wal baneena walqanaateeril muqantarati minaz zahabi walfiddati walkhailil musawwamati wal an’aami walhars; zaalika mataa’ul hayaatid dunyaa wallaahu ‘indahoo husnul ma-aab

15. قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِخَيْرٍ مِنْ ذَٰلِكُمْ ۚ لِلَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَاجٌ مُطَهَّرَةٌ وَرِضْوَانٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِالْعِبَادِ
Ayah 15. Qul A’uunabbi’ukum Bikhayrin Min Dhālikum Lilladhīna Attaqaw `Inda Rabbihim Jannātun Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-‘Anhāru Khālidīna Fīhā Wa ‘Azwājun Muţahharatun Wa Riđwānun Mina Allāhi Wa Allāhu Başīrun Bil-`Ibādi
3:15  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Shall I inform you of better than ˹all of˺ that. For those who fear will have with their Lord Gardens from underneath which the rivers flows staying forever in it, and pure spouses and pleasure of Allah. And Allah is All-Seeing of His servants.” 
15. Qul a’unabbi ‘ukum bikhairim min zaalikum; lillazeenat taqaw ‘inda Rabbihim jannaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa wa azwaajum mutahharatunw wa ridwaanum minal laah; wallaahu baseerum bil’ibaad

16. الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Ayah 16. Al-Ladhīna Yaqūlūna RabbanāInnanāĀmannā Fāghfir Lanā Dhunūbanā Wa Qinā `Adhāba An-Nāri
3:16  Those who say, “Our Lord! Indeed, we have believed, so forgive for us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”
16. Allazeena yaqooloona Rabbanaaa innanaaa aamannaa faghfir lanaa zunoobanaa wa qinaa ‘azaaban Naar

17. الصَّابِرِينَ وَالصَّادِقِينَ وَالْقَانِتِينَ وَالْمُنْفِقِينَ وَالْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِالْأَسْحَارِ
Ayah 17. Aş-Şābirīna Wa Aş-Şādiqīna Wa Al-Qānitīna Wa Al-Munfiqīna Wa Al-Mustaghfirīna Bil-‘Asĥāri
3:17 ˹it is those who are˺ the patient, and the truthful, and the obedient, and those who spend ˹in the way of Allah˺and those who seek forgiveness in the before dawn.

17. Assaabireena wassaa diqeena walqaaniteena walmunfiqeena walmus taghfireena bil as-har
18. شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ وَأُولُو الْعِلْمِ قَائِمًا بِالْقِسْطِ ۚ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Ayah 18. SShahida AllāhuAnnahu ‘Ilāha ‘Illā Huwa Wa Al-Malā’ikatu Wa ‘Ūlū Al-`Ilmi Qā’imāan Bil-Qisţi ‘Ilāha ‘Illā Huwa Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu
3:18  Allah ˹Himself˺ bears witness that there is no god except Him, and so do the Angels, and possesors of the knowledge. ˹He (Allah) is the˺ Maintainer of justice. There is no god except Him the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
18. Shahidal laahu annahoo laa ilaaha illaa Huwa walmalaaa’ikatu wa ulul ‘ilmi qaaa’imam bilqist; laaa ilaaha illaa Huwal ‘Azeezul Hakeem

19. إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ الْإِسْلَامُ ۗ وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا بَيْنَهُمْ ۗ وَمَنْ يَكْفُرْ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ
Ayah 19. ‘Inna Ad-Dīna `Inda Allāhi Al-‘Islāmu Wa Mā Akhtalafa Al-Ladhīna ‘Ūtū Al-Kitāba ‘Illā Min Ba`di Jā’ahumu Al-`Ilmu Baghyāan Baynahum Wa Man Yakfur Bi’āyāti Allāhi Fa’inna Allāha Sarī`u Al-Ĥisābi
3:19  Indeed, the Religion in the sight of Allah is Islam (i.e., submission to Allah). And those who were given the Book did not differ except from after what came to them as the knowledge out of jealousy among themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the Verses of Allah, then indeed, Allah is swift in reckoning (i.e., taking account).
19. Innad deena ‘indal laahil Islaam; wa makhtalafal lazeena ootul Kitaaba illaa mim ba’di maa jaaa’ahumul ‘ilmu baghyam bainahum; wa mai yakfur bi Aayaatil laahi fa innal laaha saree’ul hisaab

20. فَإِنْ حَاجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِ ۗ وَقُلْ لِلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ وَالْأُمِّيِّينَ أَأَسْلَمْتُمْ ۚ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُوا فَقَدِ اهْتَدَوْا ۖ وَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ الْبَلَاغُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِالْعِبَادِ
Ayah 20. Fa’in Ĥājjūka FaqulAslamtu Wajhiya Lillāhi Wa Mani Attaba`ani Wa Qul Lilladhīna ‘Ūtū Al-Kitāba Wa Al-‘UmmīyīnaA’aslamtum Fa’in ‘Aslamū Faqadi Ahtadaw Wa ‘In Tawallaw Fa’innamā `Alayka Al-Balāghu Wa Allāhu Başīrun Bil-`Ibādi
3:20  Then if they argue with you ˹O Prophet˺, then say, “I have submitted myself to Allah and so have those who follow me.” And say to those who were given the Book, and the unlettered people, “Have you submitted yourselves?” Then if they submit, then surely they are guided. But if they turn back, then upon you is only to deliver the Message. And Allah is All-Seeing of His slaves.
20. Fa in haaajjooka faqul aslamtu wajhiya lillaahi wa manit taba’an; wa qul lillazeena ootul Kitaaba wal ummiyyeena ‘a-aslamtum; fa in aslamoo faqadih tadaw wa in tawallaw fa innamaa ‘alaikal balaagh; wallaahu baseerum bil ‘ibaad (section 2)

21. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ النَّبِيِّينَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَيَقْتُلُونَ الَّذِينَ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْقِسْطِ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
Ayah 21. ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Yakfurūna Bi’āyāti Allāhi Wa Yaqtulūna An-Nabīyīna Bighayri Ĥaqqin Wa Yaqtulūna Al-Ladhīna Ya’murūna Bil-Qisţi Mina An-Nāsi Fabashshirhum Bi`adhābinAlīmin
3:21  Indeed, those who disbelieve in the Signs of Allah and they kill the Prophets ˹unjustly˺ without any right and they kill those who order justice among the people, then give them good news of a painful punishment.
21. Innal lazeena yakfuroona  bi Aayaatil laahi wa yaqtuloonan Nabiyyeena bighairi haqqinw wa yaqtuloonal lazeena ya’muroona bilqisti minannaasi fabashirhum bi’azaabin aleem

22. أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُمْ مِنْ نَاصِرِينَ
Ayah 22. ‘‘Ūlā’ika Al-Ladhīna Ĥabiţat ‘A`māluhum Ad-Dunyā Wa Al-‘Ākhirati Wa Mā Lahum Min Nāşirīna
3:22  Those are the ones who, their deeds became worthless in the world and in the Hereafter, and for them will be none from the helpers.
22. Ulaaa’ikal lazeena habitat a’maaluhum fid dunyaa wal Aaakhirati wa maa lahum min naasireen

23. أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا نَصِيبًا مِنَ الْكِتَابِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ وَهُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ
Ayah 23. ‘Alam Tara ‘Ilá Al-Ladhīna ‘Ūtū Naşībāan Mina Al-Kitābi Yud`awna ‘Ilá Kitābi Allāhi Liyaĥkuma Baynahum Thumma Yatawallá Farīqun Minhum Wa Hum Mu`riđūna
3:23  Have you not seen at those who were given a portion of the Scripture? Yet when they are invited to the Book of Allah that it should judge between them (i.e., to settle their disputes), then a group of them turn away and they oppose it.
23. Alam tara ilal lazeena ootoo naseebam minal Kitaabi yud’awna ilaa Kitaabil laahi liyahkuma bainahum summa yatawallaa fareequm minhum wa hum mu’ridoon

24. ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لَنْ تَمَسَّنَا النَّارُ إِلَّا أَيَّامًا مَعْدُودَاتٍ ۖ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِي دِينِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ
Ayah 24. Dhālika Bi’annahum Qālū Lan Tamassanā An-Nāru ‘Illā ‘Ayyāmāan Ma`dūdātin Wa Gharrahum Dīnihim Kānū Yaftarūna
3:24  That is because they say, “The Fire will never touch us except for ˹a few˺ numbered days.” And what they were inventing deceived them in their religion.
24. Zaalika bi annahum qaaloo lan tamassanan naaru illaaa ayyaamam ma’doodaatinw wa gharrahum fee deenihim maa kaanoo yaftaroon

25. فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَاهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
Ayah 25. Fakayfa ‘Idhā Jama`nāhum Liyawmin Rayba Fīhi Wa Wuffiyat Kullu Nafsin Kasabat Wa Hum Yužlamūna
3:25  Then how will it be when We will gather them on a Dayabout which there is no doubt, and every soul will be paid in full what it earned, and they will not be wronged.
25. Fakaifa izaa jama’naahum li Yawmil laa raiba fee wa wuffiyat kullu nafsim maa kasabat wa hum laa yuzlamoon

26. قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مَالِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِي الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَاءُ ۖ بِيَدِكَ الْخَيْرُ ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Ayah 26. Quli Al-Lahumma Mālika Al-Mulki Tu’utī Al-Mulka Man Tashā’u Wa Tanzi`u Al-Mulka Mimman Tashā’u Wa Tu`izzu Man Tashā’u Wa Tudhillu Man Tashā’u Biyadika Al-Khayru ‘Innaka `Alá Kulli Shay’in Qadīrun
3:26  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O Allah! Owner of the Kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will and You take away the kingdom from whom You will, and You honor whom You will, and You humiliate whom You will  all the good is in Your hand. Indeed, You are All-Powerful on every thing.

26. Qulil laahumma Maalikal Mulki tu’til mulka man tashaaa’u wa tanzi’ul mulka mimman tashhaaa’u wa tu’izzu man tashaaa’u wa tuzillu man tashaaa’u biyadikal khairu innaka ‘alaa kulli shai’in Qadeer

27. تُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ ۖ وَتُخْرِجُ الْحَيَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَيِّ ۖ وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
Ayah 27. TTūliju Al-Layla An-Nahāri Wa Tūliju An-Nahāra Al-Layli Wa Tukhriju Al-Ĥayya Mina Al-Mayyiti Wa Tukhriju Al-Mayyita Mina Al-Ĥayyi Wa Tarzuqu Man Tashā’u Bighayri Ĥisābin
3:27  You cause the night to pass into the day and You cause the day to pass into the night, and You bring forth the living from the dead, and You bring forth the dead from the living, and You provide to whom You will without measure.”
27. Toolijul laila fin nahaari wa toolijun nahaara fil laili wa tukhrijul haiya minalmaiyiti wa tukhrijul maiyita minal haiyi wa tarzuqu man tashaaa’u bighari hisaab

28. لَا يَتَّخِذِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ الْكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۖ وَمَنْ يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَنْ تَتَّقُوا مِنْهُمْ تُقَاةً ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفْسَهُ ۗ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ الْمَصِيرُ
Ayah 28. Yattakhidhi Al-Mu’uminūna Al-Kāfirīna ‘Awliyā’a Min Dūni Al-Mu’uminīna Wa Man Yaf`al Dhālika Falaysa Mina Allāhi Shay’in ‘IllāAn Tattaqū Minhum Tuqāatan Wa Yuĥadhdhirukumu Allāhu Nafsahu Wa ‘Ilá Allāhi Al-Maşīru
3:28  The believers shall not take the disbelievers as guardians from instead of the believers. And whoever does that then has nothing from Allah in anything unless that you fear from them, as a precaution. And Allah warns you of Himself, and to Allah is the final return.
28. Laa yattakhizil mu’minoonal kaafireena awliyaaa’a min doonil mu’mineena wa mai yaf’al zaalika falaisa minal laahi fee shai’in illaaa an tattaqoo minhum tuqaah; wa yuhazzirukumul laahu nafsah; wa ilal laahil maseer 

29. قُلْ إِنْ تُخْفُوا مَا فِي صُدُورِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ اللَّهُ ۗ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Ayah 29. QulIn Tukhfū Şudūrikum Aw Tubdūhu Ya`lamhu Allāhu Wa Ya`lamu As-Samāwāti Wa Mā Al-‘Arđi Wa Allāhu `Alá Kulli Shay’in Qadīrun
3:29  Say, “Whether you conceal what is in your chests or you reveal itAllah knows it. And He knows whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And Allah is Powerful over all things.”
29. Qul in tukhfoo maa fee sudoorikum aw tubdoohu ya’lamhul laah; wa ya’lamu maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ard; wallaahu ‘alaa kulli shai’in Qadeer

30. يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مُحْضَرًا وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ سُوءٍ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُ أَمَدًا بَعِيدًا ۗ وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفْسَهُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ رَءُوفٌ بِالْعِبَادِ
Ayah 30. Yawma Tajidu Kullu Nafsin `Amilat Min Khayrin Muĥđarāan Wa Mā `Amilat Min Sū’in Tawaddu Law Anna Baynahā Wa Baynahu ‘Amadāan Ba`īdāan Wa Yuĥadhdhirukumu Allāhu Nafsahu Wa Allāhu Ra’ūfun Bil-`Ibādi
3:30  ˹On the˺ day every soul will find whatever it did of good ˹deed˺ presented, and whatever it did of bad ˹deed˺, it will wish if that between itself (i.e., soul) and between it(i.e., bad deed) was a far off distance. And Allah warns you of Himself, and Allah is Most Kind to ˹His˺ servants.

it will wish that if a distance between itself and between it (i.e., evil what the soul did) would be far away/far off

30. Yawma tajidu kullu nafsim maa’amilat min khairim muhdaranw wa maa ‘amilat min sooo’in tawaddu law anna bainahaa wa bainahooo amadam ba’eedaa; wa yuhazzirukumul laahu nafsah; wallaahu ra’oofum bil’ibaad (section 3)

31. قُلْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
Ayah 31. QulIn Kuntum Tuĥibbūna Allāha Fa Attabi`ūnī Yuĥbibkumu Allāhu Wa Yaghfir Lakum Dhunūbakum Wa Allāhu Ghafūrun Raĥīmun
3:31  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If you love Allah, then follow me, Allah will love you and He will forgive for you your sins. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
31. Qul in kuntum tuhibboonal laaha fattabi’ oonee yuhbibkumul laahu wa yaghfir lakum zunoobakum; wallaahu Ghafoorur Raheem

32. قُلْ أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ ۖ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْكَافِرِينَ
Ayah 32. Qul ‘Aţī`ū Allāha Wa Ar-Rasūla Fa’in Tawallaw Fa’inna Allāha Yuĥibbu Al-Kāfirīna
3:32  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Obey Allah and the Messenger.” Then if they turn awaythen indeed, Allah does not love the disbelievers.
32. Qul atee’ul laaha war Rasoola fa in tawallaw fa innal laaha laa yuhibbul kaafireen

33. إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَىٰ آدَمَ وَنُوحًا وَآلَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَآلَ عِمْرَانَ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ
Ayah 33. ‘Inna Allāha Aşţafá ‘Ādama Wa Nūĥāan Wa ‘Āla ‘Ibrāhīma Wa ‘Āla `Imrān `Alá Al-`Ālamīna
3:33  Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah, and the family of Abraham and the family of Imran above all the beings
33. Innal laahas tafaaa Aadama wa Noohanw wa Aala Ibraaheema wa Aala Imraana ‘alal ‘aalameen

34. ذُرِّيَّةً بَعْضُهَا مِنْ بَعْضٍ ۗ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Ayah 34. DDhurrīyatan Ba`đuhā Min Ba`đin Wa Allāhu Samī`un `Alīmun
3:34 they are descendents, some of them from others. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
34. Zurriyyatam ba’duhaa mim ba’d; wallaahu Samee’un ‘Aleem

35. إِذْ قَالَتِ امْرَأَتُ عِمْرَانَ رَبِّ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِي بَطْنِي مُحَرَّرًا فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّي ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Ayah 35. ‘Idh Qālati Amra’atu `Imrāna RabbiInnī Nadhartu Laka Baţnī Muĥarrarāan Fataqabbal Minnī ‘Innaka ‘Anta As-Samī`u Al-`Alīmu
3:35 ˹Remember˺ when the wife of Imran said, “My Lord! Indeed, I have vowed to You what is in my womb, to be free ˹for Your service˺, so accept from me. Indeed You, You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
35. Iz qaalatim ra atu ‘Imraana Rabbi innee nazartu laka maa fee batnee muharraran fataqabbal minnee innaka Antas Samee’ul ‘Aleem

36. فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَضَعْتُهَا أُنْثَىٰ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْ وَلَيْسَ الذَّكَرُ كَالْأُنْثَىٰ ۖ وَإِنِّي سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَإِنِّي أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
Ayah 36. FFalammā Wađa`at/hā Qālat RabbiInnī Wađa`tuhāUnthá Wa Allāhu ‘A`lamu BimāWađa`at Wa Laysa Adh-Dhakaru Kāl’unthá Wa ‘Innī Sammaytuhā Maryama Wa ‘Innī U`īdhuhā Bika Wa Dhurrīyatahā Mina Ash-Shayţāni Ar-Rajīmi
3:36  Then when she delivered her, she said, “My Lord, indeed I have delivered her a female.” And Allah knows better of what she delivered, and the male is not like the female.And that I have named her Maryam ˹Mary˺ and that I seek refuge for her in You and her offspring from the rejected Shaitaan.”
36. Falammaa wada’at haa qaalat Rabbi innee wada’tuhaaa unsaa wallaahu a’lamu bimaa wada’at wa laisaz zakaru kalunsaa wa innee sammaituhaa Maryama wa innee u’eezuhaa bika wa zurriyyatahaa minash Shaitaanir Rajeem

37. فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٍ وَأَنْبَتَهَا نَبَاتًا حَسَنًا وَكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا ۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا الْمِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِنْدَهَا رِزْقًا ۖ قَالَ يَا مَرْيَمُ أَنَّىٰ لَكِ هَٰذَا ۖ قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَرْزُقُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
Ayah 37. FFataqabbalahā Rabbuhā Biqabūlin Ĥasanin Wa ‘Anbatahā Nabātāan Ĥasanāan Wa Kaffalahā Zakarīyā Kullamā Dakhala `Alayhā Zakarīyā Al-Miĥrāba Wajada `Indahā Rizqāan Qāla Maryamu Anná Laki Hādhā Qālat Huwa Min `Indi Allāhi ‘Inna Allāha Yarzuqu Man Yashā’u Bighayri Ĥisābin
3:37  So her Lord accepted her with good acceptance, and made her grow into a good growth, and put her in the care of Zakariya. Whenever Zakariya entered the prayer chamber to see upon her, Zakariya, he found her with provision. He said, “O Maryam! From where is this ˹coming˺ for you?She said,This is from Allah. Indeed, Allah gives provision to whom He wills without measure.”

37. Fataqabba lahaa Rabbuhaa biqaboolin hasaninw wa ambatahaa nabaatan hasananw wa kaffalahaa Zakariyyaa kullamaa dakhala ‘alaihaa Zakariyyal Mihraaba wajada ‘indahaa rizqan qaala yaa Maryamu annaa laki haazaa qaalat huwa min ‘indil laahi innal laaha yarzuqu mai yashaaa’u bighairi hisaab

38. هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُ ۖ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً ۖ إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ
Ayah 38. Hunālika Da`ā Zakarīyā Rabbahu Qāla Rabbi Hab Min Ladunka Dhurrīyatan Ţayyibatan ‘Innaka Samī`u Ad-Du`ā’i
3:38  There and then, Zakariya prayed to his Lord, he said, “My Lord grant for me from Yourself pure offspring. Indeed, You are All-Hearer of the prayers
38. Hunaaalika da’aa Zakariyyaa Rabbahoo qaala Rabbi hab lee mil ladunka zurriyyatan taiyibatan innaka samee’ud du’aaa’

39. فَنَادَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي فِي الْمِحْرَابِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَىٰ مُصَدِّقًا بِكَلِمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَسَيِّدًا وَحَصُورًا وَنَبِيًّا مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Ayah 39. Fanādathu Al-Malā’ikatu Wa Huwa Qā’imun Yuşallī Al-Miĥrābi ‘Anna Allāha Yubashshiruka Biyaĥyá Muşaddiqāan Bikalimatin Mina Allāhi Wa Sayyidāan Wa Ĥaşūrāan Wa Nabīyāan Mina Aş-Şāliĥīna
3:39  Then the angels called out to him when he was standing praying in the prayer chamber. Indeed, Allah gives you good news of ˹the birth of˺ Yahya ˹John˺ confirming a Word from Allah and ˹will be˺ a noble and chaste and a prophet among the righteous.

39. Fanaadat hul malaaa’ikatu wa huwa qaaa’imuny yusallee fil Mihraabi annal laaha yubashshiruka bi Yahyaa musaddiqam bi Kalimatim minal laahi wa saiyidanw wa hasooranw wa Nabiyyam minas saaliheen

40. قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي غُلَامٌ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِيَ الْكِبَرُ وَامْرَأَتِي عَاقِرٌ ۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ اللَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاءُ
Ayah 40. Qāla RabbiAnná Yakūnu Ghulāmun Wa Qad Balaghaniya Al-Kibaru Wa Amra’atī `Āqirun Qāla Kadhālika Allāhu Yaf`alu Yashā’u
3:40  he ˹zachariah˺ said,My Lord how can I have a son, and verily i have reached old age and my wife is barren (i.e., infertile)?” He said,So will it be; Allah does what He wills.
40. Qaala Rabbi annaa yakoonu lee ghulaamunw wa qad balaghaniyal kibaru wamraatee ‘aaqirun qaala kazaalikal laahu yaf’alu maa yashaaa’

THUS | IT WILL BE | SUCH IS | LIKE THAT | LIKE THIS | SO WILL IT BE

41. قَالَ رَبِّ اجْعَلْ لِي آيَةً ۖ قَالَ آيَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمْزًا ۗ وَاذْكُرْ رَبَّكَ كَثِيرًا وَسَبِّحْ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِبْكَارِ
Ayah 41. Qāla Rabbi Aj`al Āyatan QālaĀyatukaAllā Tukallima An-Nāsa ThalāthataAyyāmin ‘Illā Ramzāan Wa Adhkur Rabbaka Kathīrāan Wa Sabbiĥ Bil-`Ashīyi Wa Al-‘Ibkāri
3:41  he ˹zachariah˺ said, “My Lord grant me a sign.” He said, your sign is that you will not ˹be able to˺ speak to the people for three days except with gestures. And remember your Lord much, and glorify ˹Him˺ in the evening and in the morning.”
41. Qaala Rabbij ‘al leee Aayatan qaala Aaayatuka allaa tukalliman naasa salaasata ayyaamin illa ramzaa; wazkur Rabbaka kaseeranw wa sabbih bil’ashiyyi wal ibkaar (section 4)

42. وَإِذْ قَالَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ يَا مَرْيَمُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَاكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَاصْطَفَاكِ عَلَىٰ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِينَ
Ayah 42. Wa ‘Idh Qālati Al-Malā’ikatu Yā Maryamu ‘Inna Allāha Aşţafāki Wa Ţahharaki Wa Aşţafāki `Alá Nisā’i Al-`Ālamīna
3:42  And ˹remember˺ when the Angels said, “O Maryam! Indeed, Allah has chosen you, and purified you, and chosen you over ˹all˺ the women of the world.”
42. Wa iz qaalatil malaaa’ikatu yaa Maryamu innal laahas tafaaki wa tahharaki wastafaaki ‘alaa nisaaa’il ‘aalameen

43. يَا مَرْيَمُ اقْنُتِي لِرَبِّكِ وَاسْجُدِي وَارْكَعِي مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ
Ayah 43. Yā Maryamu Aqnutī Lirabbiki Wa Asjudī Wa Arka`ī Ma`a Ar-Rāki`īna
3:43  “O Maryam! Be obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow down with those who bow down ˹in prayer˺.”
43. Yaa Maryamu uqnutee li Rabbiki wasjudee warka’ee ma’ar raaki’een

44. ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ أَنْبَاءِ الْغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَ ۚ وَمَا كُنْتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يُلْقُونَ أَقْلَامَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ يَكْفُلُ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا كُنْتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ
Ayah 44. Dhālika Min ‘Anbā’i Al-Ghaybi NūĥīhiIlayka Wa Mā Kunta Ladayhim ‘Idh Yulqūna AqlāmahumAyyuhum Yakfulu Maryama Wa Mā Kunta Ladayhim ‘Idh Yakhtaşimūna
3:44  That is from the news of the unseen which We reveal to you ˹O Prophet˺. And you were not with them when they cast their pens to decide which of them takes charge as ˹guardian˺ of Maryam; and you were not with them when they were disputing.
44. Zaalika min ambaaa’il ghaibi nooheehi ilaik; wa maa kunta ladaihim iz yulqoona aqlaamahum ayyuhum yakfulu Maryama wa maa kunta ladaihim iz yakhtasimoon

45. إِذْ قَالَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ يَا مَرْيَمُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِنْهُ اسْمُهُ الْمَسِيحُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَجِيهًا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
Ayah 45.  ‘Idh Qālati Al-Malā’ikatu Yā MaryamuInna Allāha Yubashshiruki Bikalimatin Minhu Asmuhu Al-Masīĥu `Īsá Abnu Maryama Wajīhāan Ad-Dunyā Wa Al-‘Ākhirati Wa Mina Al-Muqarrabīna
3:45 ˹Remember˺ when the Angels said, “O Maryam! Indeed, Allah gives you good news of a word from Him, his name is the Messiah, Isa ˹Jesus˺, son of Maryam ˹Mary˺, honored in the world and in the Hereafter, and of those brought near ˹to Allah˺.
45. Iz qaalatil  malaaa’ikatu yaa Maryamu innal laaha yubashshiruki bi Kalimatim minhus muhul Maseehu ‘Eesab nu Maryama wajeehan fid dunyaa wal Aakhirati wa minal muqarrabeen

46. وَيُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ فِي الْمَهْدِ وَكَهْلًا وَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Ayah 46. Wa Yukallimu An-Nāsa Al-Mahdi Wa Kahlāan Wa Mina Aş-Şāliĥīna
3:46  And he will speak to the people in the cradle, and in maturity; and he will be of the righteous.”
46. Wa yukallimun naasa filmahdi wa kahlanw wa minassaaliheen

47. قَالَتْ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِي وَلَدٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِي بَشَرٌ ۖ قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ اللَّهُ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
Ayah 47. Qālat Rabbi ‘Anná Yakūnu Waladun Wa Lam Yamsasnī Basharun Qāla Kadhāliki Allāhu Yakhluqu Yashā’u ‘Idhā Qađá ‘Amrāan Fa’innamā Yaqūlu Lahu Kun Fayakūnu
3:47  She said, “My Lord how can i have a boy, when no man has ever touched me?” He said,Thus Allah creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter then He only says to it,Be,and it becomes.
47. Qaalat Rabbi annaa yakoonu lee waladunw wa lam yamsasnee basharun qaala kazaalikil laahu yakhluqu maa yashaaa’; izaa qadaaa amran fa innamaa yaqoolu lahoo kun fayakoon

My Lord how can there be for me a boy,

48. وَيُعَلِّمُهُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَالتَّوْرَاةَ وَالْإِنْجِيلَ
Ayah 48. Wa Yu`allimuhu Al-Kitāba Wa Al-Ĥikmata Wa At-Tawrāata Wa Al-‘Injīla
3:48  And He will teach him the Book, and the wisdom, and the Taurat ˹Tourah˺, and the Injeel ˹Gospel˺
48. Wa yu’allimuhul Kitaaba wal Hikmata wat Tawraata wal Injeel

49. وَرَسُولًا إِلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنِّي قَدْ جِئْتُكُمْ بِآيَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ أَنِّي أَخْلُقُ لَكُمْ مِنَ الطِّينِ كَهَيْئَةِ الطَّيْرِ فَأَنْفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَأُبْرِئُ الْأَكْمَهَ وَالْأَبْرَصَ وَأُحْيِي الْمَوْتَىٰ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَأُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا تَأْكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَةً لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
Ayah 49. Wa Rasūlāan ‘Ilá Banī Isrā’īla ‘Annī Qad Ji’tukum Bi’āyatin Min RabbikumAnnīAkhluqu Lakum Mina Aţ-Ţīni Kahay’ati Aţ-Ţayri Fa’anfukhu Fīhi Fayakūnu Ţayrāan Bi’idhni Allāhi Wa ‘Ubri’u Al-‘Akmaha Wa Al-‘Abraşa Wa ‘Uĥyi Al-Mawtá Bi’idhni Allāhi Wa ‘Unabbi’ukum Bimā Ta’kulūna Wa Mā Taddakhirūna BuyūtikumInna Dhālika La’āyatan LakumIn Kuntum Mu’uminyna
3:49  and ˹make him˺ a Messenger to the Children of Israel, ˹saying˺ “Indeed, I surely, I have come to you with a sign from your Lord that I make for you from the clay like the shape of a bird, then I breath into it and it becomes a bird by the permission of Allah. And I cure the blind, and the leper, and I give life to the dead by the permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed, in that is surely a sign for you, if you are believers.
49. Wa Rasoolan ilaa Baneee Israaa’eela annee qad ji’tukum bi Aayatim mir Rabbikum annee akhluqu lakum minatteeni kahai ‘atittairi fa anfukhu feehi fayakoonu tairam bi iznil laahi wa ubri’ul akmaha wal abrasa wa uhyil mawtaa bi iznil laahi wa unabbi’ukum bimaa taakuloona wa maa taddakhiroona fee buyootikum; inna fee zaalika la Aayatal lakum in kuntum mu’mineen

50. وَمُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَكُمْ بَعْضَ الَّذِي حُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ وَجِئْتُكُمْ بِآيَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
Ayah 50. Wa Muşaddiqāan Limā Bayna Yadayya Mina At-Tawrāati Wa Li’uĥilla Lakum Ba`đa Al-Ladhī Ĥurrima `Alaykum Wa Ji’tukum Bi’āyatin Min Rabbikum Fa Attaqū Allāha Wa ‘Aţī`ūni
3:50  And ˹i have come˺ confirming of the Taurat ˹Tourah˺ that which is between hands (i.e., present before me), and so that I make lawful for you some of that which was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me.

50. Wa musaddiqal limaa baina yadaiya minat Tawraati wa liuhilla lakum ba’dal lazee hurrima ‘alaikum; wa ji’tukum bi Aayatim mir Rabbikum fattaqul laaha wa atee’oon

PART 2 51- 100

51. إِنَّ اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ ۗ هَٰذَا صِرَاطٌ مُسْتَقِيمٌ
Ayah 51. ‘Inna Allāha Rabbī Wa Rabbukum Fā`budūhu Hādhā Şirāţun Mustaqīmun
3:51  Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is the Straight Path .”
51. Innal laaha Rabbee wa Rabbukum fa’budooh; haazaa Siraatum Mustaqeem

52. فَلَمَّا أَحَسَّ عِيسَىٰ مِنْهُمُ الْكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنْ أَنْصَارِي إِلَى اللَّهِ ۖ قَالَ الْحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنْصَارُ اللَّهِ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ
Ayah 52. FFalammā Aĥassa `Īsá Minhumu Al-Kufra Qāla Man ‘Anşārī ‘Ilá Allāhi Qāla Al-Ĥawārīyūna Naĥnu ‘Anşāru Allāhi ‘Āmannā Billāhi Wa Ash/had Bi’annā Muslimūna
3:52  Then when Isa ˹Jesus˺ sensed the disbelief from them, he ˹Jesus˺ said, “Who will be my helpers to Allah.” The disciples said We will be the helpers to Allah, we believe in Allah and bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e., submitted to Allah).
52. Falammaaa ahassa ‘Eesaa minhumul kufra qaala man ansaaree ilal laahi qaalal Hawaariyyoona nahnu ansaarul laahi aamannaa billaahi washhad bi annaa muslimoon

53. رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا بِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ وَاتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُولَ فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
Ayah 53. Rabbanā Āmannā Bimā Anzalta Wa Attaba`nā Ar-Rasūla Fāktubnā Ma`a Ash-Shāhidīna
3:53 ˹They prayed to Allah,˺ “Our Lord, we believe in what You revealed and we follow the Messenger, then write us among the witnesses.”
53. Rabbanaaa aamannaa bimaaa anzalta wattaba’nar Rasoola faktubnaa ma’ash shaahideen

54. وَمَكَرُوا وَمَكَرَ اللَّهُ ۖ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ الْمَاكِرِينَ
Ayah 54. Wa Makarū Wa Makara Allāhu Wa Allāhu Khayru Al-Mākirīna
3:54  And they (i.e., disbelievers) made a plot ˹against Jesus˺, but Allah also planned ˹to protect Jesus˺. And Allah is the best of the planners.
54. Wa makaroo wa makaral laahu wallaahu khairul maakireen (section 5)

55. إِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَا عِيسَىٰ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ۖ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ فِيمَا كُنْتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ
Ayah 55. ‘Idh Qāla Allāhu `Īsá Innī Mutawaffīka Wa Rāfi`uka ‘Ilayya Wa Muţahhiruka Mina Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Jā`ilu Al-Ladhīna Attaba`ūka Fawqa Al-Ladhīna Kafarū ‘Ilá Yawmi Al-Qiyā Mati Thumma ‘Ilayya Marji`ukum Fa’aĥkumu Baynakum Fīmā Kuntum Fīhi Takhtalifūna
3:55 ˹Remember˺ when Allah said, “O Isa! Indeed, I will take you ˹completely with body and soul˺ and lift you up towards Myself and purify you of those who disbelieve, and I will make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of the Resurrection. Then towards Me is your return and I will judge between you about what you were differing in it.
55. Iz qaalal laahu yaa ‘Eesaaa innee mutawaffeeka wa raafi’uka ilaiya wa mutah hiruka minal lazeena kafaroo wa jaa’ilul lazeenattaba ooka fawqal lazeena kafarooo ilaa Yawmil Qiyaamati summa ilaiya marji’ukum fa ahkumu bainakum feemaa kuntum feehi takhtaliifoon

56. فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُمْ مِنْ نَاصِرِينَ
Ayah 56. Fa’ammā Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Fa’u`adhdhibuhum `Adhābāan Shadīdāan Ad-Dunyā Wa Al-‘Ākhirati Wa Mā Lahum Min Nāşirīna
3:56  Then as for those who disbelieve, then I will punish them with a severe  punishment in the world and in the Hereafter. And for them will be none from the helpers.
56. Fa ammal lazeena kafaroo fa u’az zibuhum ‘azaaban shadeedan fiddunyaa wal Aakhirati wa maa lahum min naasireen

57. وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ
Ayah 57. Wa ‘Ammā Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Fayuwaffīhim ‘Ujūrahum Wa Allāhu Yuĥibbu Až-Žālimīna
3:57  And as for those who believe and did the righteous deeds then He will grant them their reward in full. And Allah does not love the wrongdoers.
57. Wa ammal lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati fa yuwaffeehim ujoorahum; wallaahu laa yuhibbuz zaalimeen

58. ذَٰلِكَ نَتْلُوهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ الْآيَاتِ وَالذِّكْرِ الْحَكِيمِ
Ayah 58. Dhālika Natlūhu `Alayka Mina Al-‘Āyāti Wa Adh-Dhikri Al-Ĥakīmi
3:58  This, We recite it to you ˹O Prophet˺ is of the Verses and Wise Reminder.
58. Zaalika natloohu ‘alaika minal Aayaati wa Zikril Hakeem

59. إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَىٰ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ آدَمَ ۖ خَلَقَهُ مِنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
Ayah 59. ‘Inna Mathala `Īsá `Inda Allāhi Kamathali Ādama Khalaqahu Min Turābin Thumma Qāla Lahu Kun Fayakūnu
3:59  Indeed, the example of Isa near Allah is like the example of Adam. He ˹Allah˺ created him from dust then He said to him, “Be,and he was.
59. Inna masala ‘Eesaa ‘indal laahi kamasali Aadama khalaqahoo min turaabin summa qaala lahoo kun fayakoon

60. الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُنْ مِنَ الْمُمْتَرِينَ
Ayah 60. Al-Ĥaqqu Min Rabbika Falā Takun Mina Al-Mumtarīna
3:60 This is the truth from your Lord, so do not be of those who doubt.
60. Alhaqqu mir Rabbika falaa takum minal mumtareen

61. فَمَنْ حَاجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَنِسَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَكُمْ وَأَنْفُسَنَا وَأَنْفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَلْ لَعْنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْكَاذِبِينَ
Ayah 61. FFaman Ĥājjaka Fīhi Min Ba`di Jā’aka Mina Al-`Ilmi Faqul Ta`ālaw Nad`u ‘Abnā’anā Wa ‘Abnā’akum Wa Nisā’anā Wa Nisā’akum Wa ‘Anfusanā Wa ‘Anfusakum Thumma Nabtahil Fanaj`al La`nata Allāhi `Alá Al-Kādhibīna
3:61  Then whoever disputes with you ˹O Prophet˺ concerning it ˹Jesus˺ from after what has come to you of the knowledge, then say, “Come, let us call our sons and your sons, and our women and your women, and ourselves and yourselves, then let us pray humbly, and invoke the curse of Allah on the liars.
61. Faman haaajjaka feehi mim ba’di maa jaaa’aka minal ‘ilmi faqul ta’aalaw nad’u abnaaa’anaa wa abnaaa’akum wa nisaaa’anaa wa nisaaa’akum wa anfusanaa wa anfusakum summa nabtahil fanaj’al la’natal laahi ‘alal kaazibeen

62. إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ الْقَصَصُ الْحَقُّ ۚ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ۚ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Ayah 62. ‘Inna Hādhā Lahuwa Al-Qaşaşu Al-Ĥaqqu Wa Mā Min ‘Ilahin ‘Illā Allāhu Wa ‘Inna Allāha Lahuwa Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu
3:62  Indeed this surely is the true narrative. And there is none from god except Allah. And indeed, Allah, surely He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
62. Innaa haazaa lahuwal qasasul haqq; wa maa min ilaahin illal laah; wa innal laahaa la Huwal ‘Azeezul Hakeem

63. فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُفْسِدِينَ
Ayah 63. Fa’in Tawallaw Fa’inna Allāha `Alīmun Bil-Mufsidīna
3:63  And if they turn away, then indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, of the corrupters.
63. Fa in tawallaw fa innal laaha’aleemun bil mufsideen (section 6)

64. قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ تَعَالَوْا إِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلَّا نَعْبُدَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ وَلَا نُشْرِكَ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضًا أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُولُوا اشْهَدُوا بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ
Ayah 64. Qul Yā ‘Ahla Al-Kitābi Ta`ālaw ‘Ilá Kalimatin Sawā’in Baynanā Wa BaynakumAllā Na`buda ‘Illā Allāha Wa Lā Nushrika Bihi Shay’āan Wa Lā Yattakhidha Ba`đunā Ba`đāanArbābāan Min Dūni Allāhi Fa’in Tawallaw Faqūlū Ash/hadū Bi’annā Muslimūna
3:64  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O People of the Book! Let us come to a common word between us and between you that we will not worship except Allah, and we will not associate anything with Himand some of us will not take others as lords from besides Allah.Then if they turn away, then say, “Bear witness that we are Muslims (i.e., submitted to Allah).”

64. Qul yaa Ahlal Kitaabi ta’aalaw ilaa Kalimatin sawaaa’im bainanaa wa bainakum allaa na’buda illal laaha wa laa nushrika bihee shai’anw wa laa yattakhiza ba’dunaa ba’dan arbaabam min doonil laah; fa in tawallaw faqoolush hadoo bi annaa muslimoon

65. يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تُحَاجُّونَ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَتِ التَّوْرَاةُ وَالْإِنْجِيلُ إِلَّا مِنْ بَعْدِهِ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
Ayah 65. Yā ‘Ahla Al-Kitābi Lima Tuĥājjūna ‘Ibrāhīma Wa MāUnzilati At-Tawrāatu Wa Al-‘Injīlu ‘Illā Min Ba`dihi Afalā Ta`qilūna
3:65  O People of the Book! Why do you argue concerning Abraham, while the Taurat ˹Tourah˺ and the Injeel ˹Gospel˺ was not revealed until from ˹a long time˺ after him? Then why do you not understand?
65. Yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi limaa tuhaaajjoona feee Ibraaheema wa maaa unzilatit Tawraatu wal Injeelu illaa mim ba’dih; afala ta’qiloon

66. هَا أَنْتُمْ هَٰؤُلَاءِ حَاجَجْتُمْ فِيمَا لَكُمْ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلِمَ تُحَاجُّونَ فِيمَا لَيْسَ لَكُمْ بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۚ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
Ayah 66. HHā’antum Hā’uulā’ Ĥājajtum Fīmā Lakum Bihi `Ilmun Falima Tuĥājjūna Fīmā Laysa Lakum Bihi `Ilmun Wa Allāhu Ya`lamu Wa ‘Antum Ta`lamūna
3:66  Here you are! those who argued for what you have little knowledge about it. Then why do you argue for what you do not have any knowledge about it. And Allah knows, while you do not know.
66. Haaa antum haaa’ulaaa’i haajajtum feemaa lakum bihee ‘ilmun falima tuhaaajjoonaa feemaa laisa lakum bihee ‘ilm; wallaahu ya’lamu wa antum laa ta’lamoon

67. مَا كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَهُودِيًّا وَلَا نَصْرَانِيًّا وَلَٰكِنْ كَانَ حَنِيفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
Ayah 67. KānaIbrāhīmu Yahūdīyāan Wa Lā Naşrānīyāan Wa Lakin Kāna Ĥanīfāan Muslimāan Wa Mā Kāna Mina Al-Mushrikīna
3:67  Abraham was neither a Jew and nor a Christian, but he was a upright Muslim (i.e., submitted to Allah), and he was not from the polytheists.
67. Maa kaana Ibraaheemu Yahoodiyyanw wa laa Nasraa niyyanw wa laakin kaana Haneefam Muslimanw wa maa kaana minal mushrikeen

68. إِنَّ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِإِبْرَاهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَٰذَا النَّبِيُّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ۗ وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Ayah 68. ‘InnaAwlá An-Nāsi Bi’ibrāhīma Lalladhīna Attaba`ūhu Wa Hadhā An-Nabīyu Wa Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Wa Allāhu Wa Līyu Al-Mu’uminīna
3:68  Indeed, the best people to claim relationship with Abraham are those who follow him and this Prophet (Muhammad pbuh) and those who believe. And Allah is a Guardian of the believers.
68. Innaa awlan naasi bi Ibraaheema lallazeenat taba ‘oohu wa haazan nabiyyu wallazeena aamanoo; wallaahu waliyyul mu’mineen

69. وَدَّتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّا أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ
Ayah 69. WWaddat Ţā’ifatun Min ‘Ahli Al-Kitābi Law Yuđillūnakum Wa Mā Yuđillūna ‘IllāAnfusahum Wa Mā Yash`urūn
3:69  A group from the People of the Book wished if they could mislead you, and they do not mislead except themselves and they do not perceive (i.e., realize).
69. Waddat taaa’ifatum min Ahlil Kitaabi law yudil loonakum wa maa yudilloona illaaa anfusahum wa maa yash’uroon

70. يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَأَنْتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ
Ayah 70. Yā ‘Ahla Al-Kitābi Lima Takfurūna Bi’āyāti Allāhi Wa ‘Antum Tash/hadūna
3:70  O People of the Book! Why do you disbelieve in the Signs of Allah while you bear witness ˹to their truth˺?
70. Yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi lima takfuroona bi Aayaatil laahi wa antum tash hadoon

71. يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ الْحَقَّ وَأَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Ayah 71. Yā ‘Ahla Al-Kitābi Lima Talbisūna Al-Ĥaqqa Bil-Bāţili Wa Taktumūna Al-Ĥaqqa Wa ‘Antum Ta`lamūna
3:71  O People of the Book! Why do you mix the truth with the falsehood and hide the truth while you know?
71. Yaaa Ahalal Kitaabi lima talbisoonal haqqa bilbaatili wa taktumoonal haqqa wa antum ta’lamoon (section 7)

72. وَقَالَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ آمِنُوا بِالَّذِي أُنْزِلَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَجْهَ النَّهَارِ وَاكْفُرُوا آخِرَهُ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
Ayah 72. Wa Qālat Ţā’ifatun MinAhli Al-Kitābi ‘Āminū Bial-Ladhī Unzila `Alá Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Wajha An-Nahāri Wa Akfurū ‘Ākhirahu La`allahum Yarji`ūna
3:72  And a group of the People of the Book said ˹to one another˺, “Believe in what has been revealed (i.e., sent down) on those who believe at the beginning of the day, and reject it at its (i.e., day) end, so that they may return
72. Wa qaalat taaa’ifatum min Ahlil Kitaabi aaminoo billazeee unzila ‘alal lazeena aamanoo wajhan nahaari wakfurooo aakhirahoo la’alla hum yarji’oon

73. وَلَا تُؤْمِنُوا إِلَّا لِمَنْ تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ الْهُدَىٰ هُدَى اللَّهِ أَنْ يُؤْتَىٰ أَحَدٌ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَاجُّوكُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّكُمْ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ الْفَضْلَ بِيَدِ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Ayah 73. Wa Lā Tu’uminū ‘Illā Liman Tabi`a Dīnakum QulInna Al-Hudá Hudá AllāhiAn Yu’utá Aĥadun Mithla ‘Ūtītum Aw Yuĥājjūkum `Inda Rabbikum Qul ‘Inna Al-Fađla Biyadi Allāhi Yu’utīhi Man Yashā’u Wa Allāhu Wāsi`un `Alīmun
3:73  and do not believe except the one who follows your religion.” Say, ˹O Prophet˺, “Indeed the true guidance is the Guidance of Allahthat one may be given similar to what was given to you or they may argue with you near your Lord.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Indeed, the Bounty is in the Hand of Allah. He gives it to whom He wills, and Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.
73. Wa laa tu’minooo illaa liman tabi’a deenakum qul innal hudaa hudal laahi ai yu’taaa ahadum misla maaa ooteetum aw yuhaaajjookum ‘inda Rabbikum, qul innal fadla biyadil laah; yu’teehi mai yashaaa’; wallaahu Waasi’un ‘Aleem

—dont beleiver that it be the case that an individual has veen given or

Do not believe that some one will be given similar knowledge that which you have been given or they will argue with you before your Lord.

“Do not believe that someone will receive ˹revealed˺ knowledge similar to yours or argue against you before your Lord.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺

74. يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ
Ayah 74. Yakhtaşşu Biraĥmatihi Man Yashā’u Wa Allāhu Dhū Al-Fađli Al-`Ažīmi
3:74  He singles out whoever He wills for His Mercy. And Allah is the Possessor of the Great Bounty.
74. Yakhtassu birahmatihee mai yashaaa’; wallaahu zulfadlil ‘azeem

75. وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مَنْ إِنْ تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنْطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ إِنْ تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لَا يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ إِلَّا مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَائِمًا ۗ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِي الْأُمِّيِّينَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
Ayah 75. Wa MinAhli Al-Kitābi Man ‘In Ta’manhu Biqinţārin Yu’uaddihi Ilayka Wa Minhum ManIn Ta’manhu Bidīnārin Yu’uaddihiIlayka ‘Illā Dumta `Alayhi Qā’imāan Dhālika Bi’annahum Qālū Laysa `Alaynā Al-‘Ummīyīna Sabīlun Wa Yaqūlūna `Alá Allāhi Al-Kadhiba Wa Hum Ya`lamūna
3:75  And from the People of the Book is he who, if you entrust him with a great amount of wealth he will return it to you. And from them is he who, if you entrust him with a single coin he will not return it to you except that you constantly keep standing over him ˹demanding it˺. That is because they said, “There is no way ˹of responsibility˺ on us concerning the unlearned.” And they say the lie against Allah while they know it.
75. Wa min Ahlil Kitaabi man in ta’manhu biqintaariny yu’addihee ilaika wa minhum man in ta’manhu bi deenaarin laa yu’addiheee ilaika illaa maa dumta ‘alaihi qaaa’ imaa; zaalika biannahum qaaloo laisa ‘alainaa fil ummiyyeena sabeelunw wa yaqooloona ‘alal laahil kaziba wa hum ya’lamoon

76. بَلَىٰ مَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِ وَاتَّقَىٰ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ
Ayah 76. Balá Man Awfá Bi`ahdihi Wa Attaqá Fa’inna Allāha Yuĥibbu Al-Muttaqīna
3:76  Nay, whoever fulfills his pledge and fears Allah, then indeed, Allah loves those who are mindful ˹of Him˺.
76. Balaa man awfaa bi’ahdihee wattaqaa fainnal laaha yuhibbul muttaqeen

77. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا أُولَٰئِكَ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُمْ فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَلَا يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَلَا يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Ayah 77. ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Yashtarūna Bi`ahdi Allāhi Wa ‘Aymānihim Thamanāan Qalīlāan ‘Ūlā’ika Khalāqa Lahum Al-‘Ākhirati Wa Lā Yukallimuhumu Allāhu Wa Lā YanžuruIlayhim Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Wa Lā Yuzakkīhim Wa Lahum `AdhābunAlīmun
3:77  Indeed, those who exchange the Covenant of Allah and their oaths for a small price, those will have no share for them in the Hereafter and Allah will not speak to them and nor look at them on the Day of the Resurrection and nor purify them, and for them is a painful punishment.
77. Innal lazeena yashtaroona bi’ahdil laahi wa aymaanihim samanan qaleelan ulaaa’ika laa khalaaqa lahum fil Aakhirati wa laa yukallimuhumul laahu wa laa yanzuru ilaihim Yawmal Qiyaamati wa laa yuzakkeehim wa lahum ‘azabun ‘aleem

78. وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقًا يَلْوُونَ أَلْسِنَتَهُمْ بِالْكِتَابِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
Ayah 78. Wa ‘Inna Minhum Lafarīqāan Yalwūna Alsinatahum Bil-Kitābi Litaĥsabūhu Mina Al-Kitābi Wa Mā Huwa Mina Al-Kitābi Wa Yaqūlūna Huwa Min `Indi Allāhi Wa Mā Huwa Min `Indi Allāhi Wa Yaqūlūna `Alá Allāhi Al-Kadhiba Wa Hum Ya`lamūna
3:78  And indeed, among them surely is a groupthey distort (i.e., twist) their tongues in reciting the Book so that you may think it is from the Book but it is not from the Book. And they say, “It is from Allah.” But it is not from Allah.” And they say the lie about Allah while they know it.

78. Wa inna minhum lafaree qany yalwoona alsinatahum bil Kitaabi litahsaboohu minal Kitaab, wa maa huwa minal Kitaabi wa yaqooloona huwa min ‘indillaahi wa maa huwa min ‘indillaahi wa yaqooloona ‘alal laahil kaziba wa hum ya’lamoon

79. مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَنْ يُؤْتِيَهُ اللَّهُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا عِبَادًا لِي مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنْ كُونُوا رَبَّانِيِّينَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ الْكِتَابَ وَبِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ
Ayah 79. Kāna LibasharinAn Yu’utiyahu Allāhu Al-Kitāba Wa Al-Ĥukma Wa An-Nubūwata Thumma Yaqūla Lilnnāsi Kūnū `Ibādāan Min Dūni Allāhi Wa Lakin Kūnū Rabbānīyīna Bimā Kuntum Tu`allimūna Al-Kitāba Wa Bimā Kuntum Tadrusūna
3:79 it is not ˹possible˺ for a human that Allah gives him the Book, and the wisdom, and the Prophethood, then he says to the people, “Be worshippers of me from besides Allah, but ˹he would rather say˺ “Be worshippers of the Lord, because you have been teaching the Book and because you have been studying it.”
79. Maa kaana libasharin ai yu’tiyahul laahul Kitaaba walhukma wan Nubuwwata summa yaqoola linnaasi koonoo ‘ibaadal lee min doonil laahi wa laakin koonoo rabbaaniy yeena bimaa kuntum tu’allimoonal Kitaaba wa bimaa kuntum tadrusoon

80. وَلَا يَأْمُرَكُمْ أَنْ تَتَّخِذُوا الْمَلَائِكَةَ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ أَرْبَابًا ۗ أَيَأْمُرُكُمْ بِالْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ
Ayah 80. Wa Lā Ya’murakumAn Tattakhidhū Al-Malā’ikata Wa An-Nabīyīna ‘ArbābāanAya’murukum Bil-Kufri Ba`da ‘IdhAntum Muslimūna
3:80  And he would never order you that you take the Angels, and the Prophets as lords. Would he order you to disbelief after when you have become Muslims (i.e., submitted to Allah)?
80. Wa laa yaamurakum an tattakhizul malaaa ‘ikata wan Nabiyyeena arbaabaa; a yaamurukum bilkufri ba’da iz antum muslimoon (section 8)

81. وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ لَمَا آتَيْتُكُمْ مِنْ كِتَابٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُصَدِّقٌ لِمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِ وَلَتَنْصُرُنَّهُ ۚ قَالَ أَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُمْ إِصْرِي ۖ قَالُوا أَقْرَرْنَا ۚ قَالَ فَاشْهَدُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ
Ayah 81. Wa ‘Idh Akhadha Allāhu Mīthāqa An-Nabīyīna LamāĀtaytukum Min KitābinWa Ĥikmatin Thumma Jā’akum Rasūlun Muşaddiqun Limā Ma`akum Latu’uminunna Bihi Wa Latanşurunnahu Qāla A’aqrartum Wa ‘Akhadhtum `Alá Dhālikum ‘Işrī QālūAqrarnā Qāla Fāsh/hadū Wa ‘Anā Ma`akum Mina Ash-Shāhidīna
3:81 ˹Remember˺ and when Allah took covenant (i.e., solemn promise) from the Prophets, ˹saying,˺ “Certainly, whatever I have given you of the Book and wisdom, then ˹if after that˺ comes to you a Messenger confirming what is with you, you must believe in him and you must help him.” He ˹Allah˺ said,Do you agree and accept upon that, My Covenant?” They said, “We agree.” He ˹Allah˺ said, “Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.”

81. Wa iz akhazal laahu meesaaqan Nabiyyeena lamaaa aataitukum min Kitaabinw wa Hikmatin summa jaaa’akum Rasoolum musaddiqul limaa ma’akum latu’minunna bihee wa latansurunnah; qaala a’aqrartum wa akhaztum alaa zaalikum isree qaalooo aqrarnaa; qaala fashhadoo wa ana ma’akum minash shaahideen

82. فَمَنْ تَوَلَّىٰ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
Ayah 82. FFaman Tawallá Ba`da Dhālika Fa’ūlā’ika Humu Al-Fāsiqūna
3:82  Then whoever turns away after that, then those are they, the defiantly disobedient.
82. Faman tawallaa ba’da zaalika fa ulaaa’ika humul faasiqoon

83. أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ اللَّهِ يَبْغُونَ وَلَهُ أَسْلَمَ مَنْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ طَوْعًا وَكَرْهًا وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ
Ayah 83. ”Afaghayra Dīni Allāhi Yabghūna Wa LahuAslama Man As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Ţaw`āan Wa Karhāan Wa ‘Ilayhi Yurja`ūna
3:83  is it other than the religion (i.e., way) of Allah they seek? While to Him have submitted whatever is in the heavens and the earth, willingly or unwillingly, and towards Him they will be returned.
83. Afaghaira deenil laahi yabghoona wa lahooo aslama man fis samaawaati wal ardi taw’anw wa karhanw wa ilaihi yurja’oon

84. قُلْ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالْأَسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ
Ayah 84. Qul ‘Āmannā Billāhi Wa Mā Unzila `Alaynā Wa Mā ‘Unzila `Alá ‘Ibrāhīma Wa ‘Ismā`īla Wa ‘Isĥāqa Wa Ya`qūba Wa Al-‘Asbāţi Wa MāŪtiya Mūsá Wa `Īsá Wa An-Nabīyūna Min Rabbihim Nufarriqu BaynaAĥadin Minhum Wa Naĥnu Lahu Muslimūna
3:84  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “We believe in Allah and what is revealed upon us and what was revealed upon Ibrahim, and Ismail, and Ishaq, and Yaqub, and the descendents and what was given to Musa, and Isa, and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them and to Him ˹Allah˺ we are submissive (i.e., muslims).
84. Qul aamannaa billaahi wa maaa unzila ‘alainaa wa maaa unzila ‘alaaa Ibraaheema wa Ismaa’eela wa Ishaaqa wa Ya’qooba wal Asbaati wa maaa ootiya Moosaa wa ‘Eesaa wan Nabiyyoona mir Rabbihim laa nufarriqu baina ahadim minhum wa nahnu lahoo muslimoon

85. وَمَنْ يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Ayah 85. Wa Man Yabtaghi Ghayra Al-‘Islāmi Dīnāan Falan Yuqbala Minhu Wa Huwa Al-‘Ākhirati Mina Al-Khāsirīna
3:85  And whoever seeks a religion (i.e., way) other than the Islam, it will then never be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers.
85. Wa mai yabtaghi ghairal Islaami deenan falany yuqbala minhu wa huwa fil Aakhirati minal khaasireen

86. كَيْفَ يَهْدِي اللَّهُ قَوْمًا كَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِيمَانِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوا أَنَّ الرَّسُولَ حَقٌّ وَجَاءَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Ayah 86. Kayfa Yahdī Allāhu Qawmāan Kafarū Ba`da ‘Īmānihim Wa Shahidū Anna Ar-Rasūla Ĥaqqun Wa Jā’ahumu Al-Bayyinātu Wa Allāhu Yahdī Al-Qawma Až-Žālimīna
3:86  How will Allah guide a people (i.e., a nation) ˹who˺ disbelieved after their belief and had witnessed that the Messenger is true, and the clear proofs had come to them? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
86. Kaifa yahdil laahu qawman kafaroo ba’da eemaanihim wa shahidooo annar Rasoola haqqunw wa jaaa’ahumul baiyinaat; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen

87. أُولَٰئِكَ جَزَاؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ اللَّهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
Ayah 87. ‘‘Ūlā’ika Jazā’uuhumAnna `Alayhim La`nata Allāhi Wa Al-Malā’ikati Wa An-Nāsi ‘Ajma`īna
3:87 ˹for˺ those (i.e., wrongdoing people), their reward is that on them is the curse of Allah and the Angels and the people all together.
87. Ulaaa’ika jazaaa’uhum anna ‘alaihim la’natal laahi walmalaaa’ikati wannaasi ajma’een

88. خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا لَا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ الْعَذَابُ وَلَا هُمْ يُنْظَرُونَ
Ayah 88. Khālidīna Fīhā Yukhaffafu `Anhumu Al-`Adhābu Wa Lā Hum Yunžarūna
3:88  ˹They will˺ stay forever in it (i.e., curse). The punishment will not be lightened (i.e., reduced) for them and nor will they be given respite (i.e., interval).

88. Khaalideena feehaa laa yukhaffafu ‘anhumul ‘azaabu wa laa hum yunzaroon

89. إِلَّا الَّذِينَ تَابُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
Ayah 89. ‘Illā Al-Ladhīna Tābū Min Ba`di Dhālika Wa ‘Aşlaĥū Fa’inna Allāha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun
3:89  Except those who repent from after that, and correct themselves. Then indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
89. Illal lazeena taaboo mim ba’di zaalika wa aslahoo fa innal laaha Ghafoorur Raheem

90. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِيمَانِهِمْ ثُمَّ ازْدَادُوا كُفْرًا لَنْ تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الضَّالُّونَ
Ayah 90. ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Ba`da ‘Īmānihim Thumma Azdādū Kufrāan Lan Tuqbala Tawbatuhum Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Humu Ađ-Đāllūna
3:90  Indeed, those who disbelieved after their belief then they increased in disbelief, their repentance will never be accepted, and those are they who have gone astray.
90. Innal lazeena kafaroo ba’da eemaanihim summaz daadoo kufral lan tuqbala tawbatuhum wa ulaaa’ika humud daaalloon

91. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَنْ يُقْبَلَ مِنْ أَحَدِهِمْ مِلْءُ الْأَرْضِ ذَهَبًا وَلَوِ افْتَدَىٰ بِهِ ۗ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ وَمَا لَهُمْ مِنْ نَاصِرِينَ
Ayah 91. ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Mātū Wa Hum Kuffārun Falan Yuqbala MinAĥadihim Mil’u Al-‘Arđi Dhahabāan Wa Law Aftadá Bihi Ūlā’ika Lahum `Adhābun ‘Alīmun Wa Mā Lahum Min Nāşirīna
3:91  Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers, then it will never be accepted from any one of them the earth full of gold even if he offered it as ransom. Those for them is a painful punishment and for them will be none from the helpers.
91. Innal lazeena kafaroo wa maatoo wa hum kuffaarun falany yuqbala min ahadihim mil’ul ardi zahabanw wa lawiftadaa bih; ulaaa ‘ika lahum ‘azaabun aleemunw wa maa lahum min naasireen (section 9) (End Juz 3)

92. لَنْ تَنَالُوا الْبِرَّ حَتَّىٰ تُنْفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ ۚ وَمَا تُنْفِقُوا مِنْ شَيْءٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ
Ayah 92. Lan Tanālū Al-Birra Ĥattá Tunfiqū Mimmā Tuĥibbūna Wa Mā Tunfiqū Min Shay’in Fa’inna Allāha Bihi `Alīmun
3:92  You will never achieve the righteousness until you spend from what you love. And whatever you spend of anything, then indeed, Allah is All-Knowing about it.
92. Lan tanaalul birra hattaa tunfiqoo mimmaa tuhibboon; wa maa tunfiqoo min shai’in fa innal laaha bihee ‘Aleem

93. كُلُّ الطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلًّا لِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِلَّا مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَائِيلُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تُنَزَّلَ التَّوْرَاةُ ۗ قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ فَاتْلُوهَا إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
Ayah 93. Kullu Aţ-Ţa`āmi Kāna Ĥillāan Libanī ‘Isrā’īla ‘Illā Ĥarrama ‘Isrā’īlu `Alá Nafsihi Min Qabli An Tunazzala At-Tawrāatu Qul Fa’tū Bit-Tawrāati Fātlūhā ‘In Kuntum Şādiqīna
3:93  All the food was lawful for the Children of Israel, except what Israel ˹Jacob˺ made unlawful for himself from before that the Torah was revealed . Say, ˹O Prophet˺ “So bring the Torah and recite it, if you are truthful.”
93. Kullut ta’aami kaana hillal li Baneee Israaa’eela illaa maa harrama Israaa’eelu ‘alaa nafsihee min qabli an tunazzalat Tawraah; qul faatoo bit Tawraati fatloohaaa in kuntum saadiqeen

94. فَمَنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ الْكَذِبَ مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ
Ayah 94. FFamani Aftará `Alá Allāhi Al-Kadhiba Min Ba`di Dhālika Fa’ūlā’ika Humu Až-Žālimūna
3:94  Then whoever fabricates the lie about Allah from after that, then those are they the wrongdoers.
94. Famanif taraa ‘alal laahilkaziba mim ba’di zaalika fa ulaaa’ika humuz zaalimoon

95. قُلْ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ ۗ فَاتَّبِعُوا مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
Ayah 95. Qul Şadaqa Allāhu Fa Attabi`ū Millata ‘Ibrāhīma Ĥanīfāan Wa Mā Kāna Mina Al-Mushrikīna
3:95  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ Allah speaks the truth, then follow the religion (i.e., way) of Abraham the upright, and he (i.e., Abraham) was not of the polytheists.
95. Qul sadaqal laah; fattabi’oo Millata Ibraaheema Haneefanw wa maa kaana minal mush rikeen

96. إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وُضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِي بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكًا وَهُدًى لِلْعَالَمِينَ
Ayah 96. ‘InnaAwwala Baytin Wuđi`a Lilnnāsi Lalladhī Bibakkata Mubārakāan Wa Hudáan Lil`ālamīna
3:96  Indeed, the First House ˹of worship˺ established for the mankind was the one which is at Bakkah (i.e., Makkah), blessed and a guidance for the worlds.
96. Inna awwala Baitinw wudi’a linnaasi lallazee bi Bakkata mubaarakanw wa hudal lil ‘aalameen

97. فِيهِ آيَاتٌ بَيِّنَاتٌ مَقَامُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ۖ وَمَنْ دَخَلَهُ كَانَ آمِنًا ۗ وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا ۚ وَمَنْ كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ
Ayah 97. Fīhi ‘Āyātun Bayyinātun Maqāmu ‘Ibrāhīma Wa Man Dakhalahu Kāna Āmināan Wa Lillahi `Alá An-Nāsi Ĥijju Al-Bayti Mani Astaţā`a ‘Ilayhi Sabīlāan Wa Man Kafara Fa’inna Allāha Ghanīyun `Ani Al-`Ālamīna
3:97  In it are clear signs, ˹and the˺ standing place of Abraham, and whoever enters it, is safe. And to Allah is a duty owed by the humankind of pilgrimage to the House, for whoever is able to find a way to do it. And whoever disbelieves, then indeed, Allah is free from need of the universe.
97. Feehi Aayaatum baiyinaatum Maqaamu Ibraaheema wa man dakhalahoo kaana aaminaa; wa lillaahi ‘alan naasi Hijjul Baiti manis tataa’a ilaihi sabeelaa; wa man kafara fa innal laaha ghaniyyun ‘anil ‘aalameen

98. قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَىٰ مَا تَعْمَلُونَ
Ayah 98. Qul Yā ‘Ahla Al-Kitābi Lima Takfurūna Bi’āyāti Allāhi Wa Allāhu Shahīdun `Alá Ta`malūna
3:98  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺O People of the Book! Why do you disbelieve in the revelations of Allah, while Allah is a Witness over what you do?”
98. Qul yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi lima takfuroona bi Aayaatillaahi wallaahu shaheedun ‘alaa maa ta’maloon


99. قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَأَنْتُمْ شُهَدَاءُ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
Ayah 99. Qul Yā ‘Ahla Al-Kitābi Lima Taşuddūna `An Sabīli Allāhi Man ‘Āmana Tabghūnahā `Iwajāan Wa ‘Antum Shuhadā’u Wa Mā Allāhu Bighāfilin `Ammā Ta`malūna
3:99  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ O People of the Book! Why do you prevent those who believe from the way of Allah, seeking to make it (i.e., way) ˹appear˺ crooked while you are witnesses ˹to the truth˺? And Allah is not unaware of what you do.
99. Qul yaaa Ahlal Kitaabi lima tusuddoona ‘an sabeelil laahi man aamana tabghoonahaa ‘iwajanw wa antum shuhadaaa’; wa mallaahu bighaafilin ‘ammaa ta’maloon

100. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنْ تُطِيعُوا فَرِيقًا مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ يَرُدُّوكُمْ بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ كَافِرِينَ
Ayah 100. YYā ‘Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū In Tuţī`ū Farīqāan Mina Al-LadhīnaŪtū Al-Kitāba Yaruddūkum Ba`daĪmānikum Kāfirīna
3:100  O you who believe! If you obey a group from those who were given the Book, they will turn you back after your belief as disbelievers.
100. Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo in tutee’oo fareeqam minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba yaruddookum ba’da eemaanikum kaafireen

PART 3 101- 150

101. وَكَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ وَأَنْتُمْ تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتُ اللَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُهُ ۗ وَمَنْ يَعْتَصِمْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ هُدِيَ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ
Ayah 101. Wa Kayfa Takfurūna Wa ‘Antum Tutlá `Alaykum ‘Āyātu Allāhi Wa Fīkum Rasūluhu Wa Man Ya`taşim Billāhi Faqad Hudiya ‘Ilá Şirāţin Mustaqīmin
3:101  And how can you disbelieve while to you the revelations of Allah are recited upon you and among you is His Messenger? And whoever holds firmly to Allah, then surely he is guided to a straight path.
101. Wa kaifa takfuroona wa antum tutlaa ‘alaikum Aayaatul laahi wa feekum Rasooluh; wa mai ya’tasim billaahi faqad hudiya ilaa Siraatim Mustaqeem (section 10)

102. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ
Ayah 102. YYā ‘Ayyuhā Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Attaqū Allāha Ĥaqqa Tuqātihi Wa Lā Tamūtunna ‘Illā Wa ‘Antum Muslimūna
3:102  O you who believe! Fear Allah as it is His right that He should be feared and do not die except while you are Muslims (i.e., submitted to Allah).
102. Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanut taqul laaha haqqa tuqaatihee wa laa tamootunna illaa wa antum muslimoon

103. وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا ۚ وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنْتُمْ أَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُمْ بِنِعْمَتِهِ إِخْوَانًا وَكُنْتُمْ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِنَ النَّارِ فَأَنْقَذَكُمْ مِنْهَا ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
Ayah 103. Wa A`taşimū Biĥabli Allāhi Jamī`āan Wa Lā Tafarraqū Wa Adhkurū Ni`mata Allāhi `Alaykum ‘Idh Kuntum ‘A`dā’an Fa’allafa Bayna Qulūbikum Fa’aşbaĥtum Bini`matihiIkhwānāan Wa Kuntum `Alá Shafā Ĥufratin Mina An-Nāri Fa’anqadhakum Minhā Kadhālika Yubayyinu Allāhu Lakum ‘Āyātihi La`allakum Tahtadūna
3:103  And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not be divided. And remember the Favor of Allah on you, when you were enemies then He made friendship between your hearts then you became brothers by His Favor. And you were on the brink of the pit of the Fire, then He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes His revelations clear for you so that you may be guided.
103. Wa’tasimoo bi Hablil laahi jamee’anw wa laa tafarraqoo; wazkuroo ni’matal laahi alaikum iz kuntum a’daaa’an fa allafa baina quloobikum fa asbah tum bini’matiheee ikhwaananw wa kuntum ‘alaa shafaa hufratim minan Naari fa anqazakum minhaa; kazaalika yubaiyinul laahu lakum aayaatihee la’allakum tahtadoon

104. وَلْتَكُنْ مِنْكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
Ayah 104. Wa Ltakun MinkumUmmatun Yad`ūna ‘Ilá Al-Khayri Wa Ya’murūna Bil-Ma`rūfi Wa Yanhawna `Ani Al-Munkari Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Humu Al-Mufliĥūna
3:104  And let there be a community among you inviting to the good and enjoining the right, and forbidding from the wrong, and those are they the successful ones.
104. Waltakum minkum ummatuny yad’oona ilal khairi wa ya’muroona bil ma’roofi wa yanhawna ‘anil munkar; wa ulaaa’ika humul muflihoon


105. وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا وَاخْتَلَفُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
Ayah 105. Wa Lā Takūnū Kālladhīna Tafarraqū Wa Akhtalafū Min Ba`di Jā’ahumu Al-Bayyinātu Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Lahum `Adhābun `Ažīmun
3:105  And do not be like those who became divided ˹into sects˺ and differed from after what came to them the clear proofs. And those, for them is a great punishment.
105. Wa laa takoonoo kallazeena tafarraqoo wakhtalafoo mim ba’di maa jaaa’ahumul baiyinaat; wa ulaaa’ika lahum ‘azaabun ‘azeem


106. يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وُجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وُجُوهٌ ۚ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ اسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ
Ayah 106. Yawma Tabyađđu Wujūhun Wa Taswaddu Wujūhun Fa’ammā Al-Ladhīna Aswaddat WujūhuhumAkafartum Ba`da ‘Īmānikum Fadhūqū Al-`Adhāba Bimā Kuntum Takfurūna
3:106  On the Day some faces will be bright and some faces will be dark. As for those who have their faces turn dark – ˹it will be said˺ “Did you disbelieve after your belief? Then taste the punishment for what you used to disbelieve.”
106. Yawma tabi yaddu wujoohunw wa taswaddu wujooh; fa-ammal lazeenas waddat wujoo hum akafartum ba’da eemaanikum fazooqul ‘azaaba bimaa kuntum takfuroon

107. وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ ابْيَضَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ فَفِي رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
Ayah 107. Wa ‘Ammā Al-Ladhīna Abyađđat Wujūhuhum Fafī Raĥmati Allāhi Hum Fīhā Khālidūna
3:107  But as for those who have their faces turn bright, then they will be in the Mercy of Allah, they will stay in it forever.
107. Wa ammal lazeena bi yaddat wujoohuhum fafee rahmatil laahi hum feehaa khaalidoon

108. تِلْكَ آيَاتُ اللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِالْحَقِّ ۗ وَمَا اللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًا لِلْعَالَمِينَ
Ayah 108. Tilka ‘Āyātu Allāhi Natlūhā `Alayka Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Mā Allāhu Yurīdu Žulmāan Lil`ālamīna
3:108  These are the revelations of Allah. We recite them to you ˹O Prophet˺ in truth; and Allah wants no injustice to the worlds.
108. Tilka Aayaatul laahi natloohaa ‘alaika bilhaqq; wa mal laahu yureedu zulmallil ‘aalameen

109. وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الْأُمُورُ
Ayah 109. Wa Lillahi As-Samāwāti Wa Mā Al-‘Arđi Wa ‘Ilá Allāhi Turja`u Al-‘Umūru
3:109  And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. And to Allah ˹all˺ the matters will be returned ˹for judgment˺.
109. Wa lillaahi maa fissamaawaati wa maa fil ard; wa ilal laahi turja’ul umoor (section 11)

110. كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ آمَنَ أَهْلُ الْكِتَابِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ ۚ مِنْهُمُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
Ayah 110. Kuntum KhayraUmmatin Ukhrijat Lilnnāsi Ta’murūna Bil-Ma`rūfi Wa Tanhawna `Ani Al-Munkari Wa Tu’uminūna Billāhi Wa Law ‘Āmana ‘Ahlu Al-Kitābi Lakāna Khayrāan Lahum Minhumu Al-Mu’uminūna Wa ‘Aktharuhumu Al-Fāsiqūna
3:110  You are the best community raised for the humankind enjoining (i.e., encouraging) the right and forbidding from the wrong and believing in Allah. And if the People of the Book believed, it surely would have been better for them. Among them are the believers, but most of them are defiantly disobedient.
110. Kuntum khaira ummatin ukhrijat linnaasi ta’muroona bilma’roofi wa tanhawna ‘anil munkari wa tu’minoona billaah; wa law aamana Ahlul Kitaabi lakaana khairal lahum minhumul mu’minoona wa aksaruhumul faasiqoon

111. لَنْ يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلَّا أَذًى ۖ وَإِنْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ الْأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لَا يُنْصَرُونَ
Ayah 111. Lan Yađurrūkum ‘Illā ‘Adháan Wa ‘In Yuqātilūkum Yuwallūkumu Al-‘Adbāra Thumma Yunşarūna
3:111  They will never harm you except a ˹little˺ hurt. And if they fight you, they will turn the backs towards you, then they will not be helped.
111. Lai yadurrookum ‘illaaa azanw wa ai yuqaatilookum yuwallookumul adbaara summa laa yunsaroon

112. ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوا إِلَّا بِحَبْلٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَحَبْلٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَبَاءُوا بِغَضَبٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَسْكَنَةُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوْا وَكَانُوا يَعْتَدُونَ
Ayah 112. Đuribat `Alayhimu Adh-DhillatuAyna Thuqifū ‘Illā Biĥablin Mina Allāhi Wa Ĥablin Mina An-Nāsi Wa Bā’ū Bighađabin Mina Allāhi Wa Đuribat `Alayhimu Al-Maskanatu Dhālika Bi’annahum Kānū Yakfurūna Bi’āyāti Allāhi Wa Yaqtulūna Al-‘Anbiyā’a Bighayri Ĥaqqin Dhālika Bimā `Aşaw Wa Kānū Ya`tadūna
3:112  The humiliation struck on them, wherever that they are found, except with a rope (i.e., protection) from Allah and a rope (i.e., treaty) from the people. And they drew on themselves extreme anger from Allah and the poverty struck on them. That is because they used to disbelieve in the revelations of Allah and they killed the Prophets ˹unjustly˺ without right. That is because they disobeyed and they were transgressing.  2/61*
112. Duribat ‘alaihimuz zillatu aina maa suqifooo illaa bihablim minal laahi wa hablim minan naasi wa baaa’oo bighadabim minallaahi wa duribat ‘alaihimul maskanah; zaalika bi-annahum kaanoo yakfuroona bi Aayaatil laahi wa yaqtuloonal Ambiyaaa’a bighairi haqq; zaalika bimaa ‘asaw wa kaanoo ya’tadoon

113. لَيْسُوا سَوَاءً ۗ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ أُمَّةٌ قَائِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ
Ayah 113. Laysū Sawā’an MinAhli Al-Kitābi Ummatun Qā’imatun Yatlūna Āyāti Allāhi ‘Ānā’a Al-Layli Wa Hum Yasjudūna
3:113  They are not ˹all˺ the same. Among the People of the Book is a community standing and reciting the revelations of Allah during the hours of the night and they prostrate ˹in prayer˺.
113. Laisoo sawaaa’a; min Ahlil Kitaabi ummatun qaaa’imatuny yatloona Aayaatil laahi aanaaa’al laili wa hum yasjudoon

114. يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ وَأُولَٰئِكَ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Ayah 114. Yu’uminūna Billāhi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-‘Ākhiri Wa Ya’murūna Bil-Ma`rūfi Wa Yanhawna `Ani Al-Munkari Wa Yusāri`ūna Al-Khayrāti Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Mina Aş-Şāliĥīna
3:114  They believe in Allah and the Last Day and they enjoin the right and forbid from the wrong and they hasten in ˹doing˺ the good deeds. And those are from the righteous.
114. Yu’minoona billaahi wal Yawmil Aakhiri wa ya’muroona bilma’roofi wa yanhawna ‘anil munkari wa yusaari’oona fil khairaati wa ulaaa’ika minas saaliheen

115. وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَنْ يُكْفَرُوهُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُتَّقِينَ
Ayah 115. Wa Mā Yaf`alū Min Khayrin Falan Yukfarūhu Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Bil-Muttaqīna
3:115  And whatever of good they do, then they will never be denied ˹of˺ it (i.e., good). And Allah is All-Knowing of the God-fearing.
115. Wa maa yaf’aloo min khairin falai yukfarooh; wallaahu ‘aleemun bilmuttaqeen

116. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَنْ تُغْنِيَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئًا ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۚ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
Ayah 116. ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Lan Tughniya `Anhum Amwāluhum Wa Lā ‘Awlāduhum Mina Allāhi Shay’āan Wa ‘Ūlā’ikaAşĥābu An-Nāri Hum Fīhā Khālidūna
3:116  Indeed, those who disbelieved, neither will benefit to them their wealth and nor their children against Allah in anything, and those are the companions of the Fire, they will stay in it forever.
116. Innal lazeena kafaroo lan tughniya ‘anhum amwaaluhum wa laaa awlaaduhum minal laahi shai’anw wa ulaaa’ika Ashaabun Naar; hum feehaa khaalidoon

117. مَثَلُ مَا يُنْفِقُونَ فِي هَٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَٰكِنْ أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
Ayah 117. Mathalu Yunfiqūna Hadhihi Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Kamathali Rīĥin Fīhā ŞirrunAşābat Ĥartha Qawmin Žalamū Anfusahum Fa’ahlakathu Wa Mā Žalamahumu Allāhu Wa Lakin ‘Anfusahum Yažlimūna
3:117 The example of what they spend in this life of the world is like the example of a wind in it is frost, it struck the harvest of a people who wronged themselves, then destroyed it. And Allah has not wronged them, but they wronged themselves.
117. Masalu maa yunfiqoona fee haazihil hayaatid dunyaa kamasali reehin feehaa sirrun asaabat harsa qawmin zalamooo anfusahum fa ahlakath; wa maa zalamahumul laahu wa laakin anfusahum yazlimoon

118. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا بِطَانَةً مِنْ دُونِكُمْ لَا يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالًا وَدُّوا مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ الْبَغْضَاءُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِي صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ ۚ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ الْآيَاتِ ۖ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
Ayah 118. YYā ‘Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Tattakhidhū Biţānatan Min Dūnikum Ya’lūnakum Khabālāan Wa Ddū `Anittum Qad Badati Al-Baghđā’u Min Afwāhihim Wa Mā Tukhfī ŞudūruhumAkbaru Qad Bayyannā Lakumu Al-‘Āyāti ‘In Kuntum Ta`qilūna
3:118  O you who believe! Do not take as intimates from other than yourselves, they will not spare any chance to ruin you. They wish that you suffer. Indeed, the hatred has become evident from their mouths, and what their chests conceal is greater. Certainly We made the revelations clear for you, if you understand.
118. Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattakhizoo bitaanatam min doonikum laa ya’loonakum khabaalanw waddoo maa ‘anittum qad badatil baghdaaa’u min afwaahihim; wa maa tukhfee sudooruhum akbar; qad baiyannaa lakumul Aayaati in kuntum ta’qiloon

119. هَا أَنْتُمْ أُولَاءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْكِتَابِ كُلِّهِ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوا آمَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا عَضُّوا عَلَيْكُمُ الْأَنَامِلَ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ ۚ قُلْ مُوتُوا بِغَيْظِكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
Ayah 119. HHā’antum ‘Ūlā’i Tuĥibbūnahum Wa Lā Yuĥibbūnakum Wa Tu’uminūna Bil-Kitābi Kullihi Wa ‘Idhā Laqūkum Qālū ‘Āmannā Wa ‘Idhā Khalaw `Ađđū `Alaykumu Al-‘Anāmila Mina Al-Ghayži Qul Mūtū BighayžikumInna Allāha `Alīmun Bidhāti Aş-Şudūri
3:119  Lo! You are those, you love them, but they do not love you, and you believe in the Book, all of it. And when they meet you, they say, “We believe.” And when they are alone, they bite the finger tips at you out of the rage. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ Die in your rage. Indeed. Allah is All-Knowing of what is in the chests.
119. Haaa antum ulaaa’i tuhibboonahum wa laa yuhibboonakum wa tu’minoona bil kitaabi kullihee wa izaa laqookum qaalooo aamannaa wa izaa khalaw ‘addoo ‘alaikumul anaamila minal ghaiz; qul mootoo bighai zikum; innal laaha ‘aleemum bizaatis sudoor

120. إِنْ تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِنْ تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُوا بِهَا ۖ وَإِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا لَا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ
Ayah 120. ‘In Tamsaskum Ĥasanatun Tasu’uhum Wa ‘In Tuşibkum Sayyi’atun Yafraĥū Bihā Wa ‘In Taşbirū Wa Tattaqū Yađurrukum Kayduhum Shay’āan ‘Inna Allāha Bimā Ya`malūna Muĥīţun
3:120  If any good touches you ˹believers˺, it grieves them and if any bad strikes you, they rejoice at it. And if you are patient and mindful ˹of Allah˺, their plot will not harm you in anything. Indeed, Allah, is All-Encompassing of what they do.
120. In tamsaskum hasanatun tasu’hum wa in tusibkum saiyi’atuny yafrahoo bihaa wa in tasbiroo wa tattaqoo laa yad urrukum kaiduhum shai’aa; innal laaha bimaa ya’maloona muheet (section 12)

121. وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَاعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Ayah 121. Wa ‘Idh Ghadawta MinAhlika Tubawwi’u Al-Mu’uminīna Maqā`ida Lilqitāli Wa Allāhu Samī`un `Alīmun
3:121 ˹Remember, O Prophet,˺ And when you left from your household early morning to post the believers at their positions for the battle. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
121. Wa iz ghadawta min ahlika tubawwi’ul mu’mineena maqaa’ida lilqitaal; wallaahu samee’un ‘aleem

122. إِذْ هَمَّتْ طَائِفَتَانِ مِنْكُمْ أَنْ تَفْشَلَا وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا ۗ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Ayah 122. ‘Idh Hammat Ţā’ifatāni Minkum ‘An Tafshalā Wa Allāhu Walīyuhumā Wa `Alá Allāhi Falyatawakkali Al-Mu’uminūna
3:122 ˹Remember˺ when two groups among you ˹believers˺ were about to lose courage, but Allah was their protector. And upon Allah let the believers put their trust.
122. Iz hammat taaa’ifataani minkum an tafshalaa wallaahu waliyyuhumaa; wa ‘alal laahi falyatawakkalil mu’minoon

123. وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنْتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ ۖ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ
Ayah 123. Wa Laqad Naşarakumu Allāhu Bibadrin Wa ‘Antum Adhillatun Fa Attaqū Allāha La`allakum Tashkurūna
3:123  And certainly Allah helped you at ˹the battle of˺ Badr while you were weak (i.e., little force). So fear Allah perhaps you may be grateful.
123. Wa laqad nasarakumul laahu bi-Badrinw wa antum azillatun fattaqul laaha la’allakum tashkuroon

124. إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَنْ يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَنْ يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ بِثَلَاثَةِ آلَافٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ مُنْزَلِينَ
Ayah 124. ‘Idh Taqūlu Lilmu’uminīnaAlan Yakfiyakum An Yumiddakum Rabbukum BithalāthatiĀlāfin Mina Al-Malā’ikati Munzalīna
3:124 ˹Remember, O Prophet,˺  When you said to the believers, “Is it not enough for you that your Lord ˹Allah˺ reinforces (i.e., supports) you with three thousand of the Angels sent down?
124. Iz taqoolu lilmu’mineena alai yakfiyakum ai-yumiddakum Rabbukum bisalaasati aalaafim minal malaaa’ikati munzaleen

125. بَلَىٰ ۚ إِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا وَيَأْتُوكُمْ مِنْ فَوْرِهِمْ هَٰذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ بِخَمْسَةِ آلَافٍ مِنَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ
Ayah 125. Balá ‘In Taşbirū Wa Tattaqū Wa Ya’tūkum Min Fawrihim Hādhā Yumdidkum Rabbukum BikhamsatiĀlāfin Mina Al-Malā’ikati Musawwimīna
3:125  Yes, if you ˹believers˺ are patient and mindful ˹of Allah˺ and they (i.e., your enemies) come of suddenly upon you, in this ˹instance˺, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand of the Angels having marks ˹designated for battle˺.
125. Balaaa; in tasbiroo wa tattaqoo wa ya’tookum min fawrihim haazaa yumdidkum Rabbukum bikhamsati aalaafim minal malaaa’ikati musawwimeen

126. وَمَا جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ إِلَّا بُشْرَىٰ لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُمْ بِهِ ۗ وَمَا النَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْحَكِيمِ
Ayah 126. Wa Mā Ja`alahu Allāhu ‘Illā Bushrá Lakum Wa Litaţma’inna Qulūbukum Bihi Wa Mā An-Naşru ‘Illā Min `Indi Allāhi Al-`Azīzi Al-Ĥakīmi
3:126  And Allah did not made it (i.e., reinforcement) except as good news for you and to reassure your hearts with it. And there is no victory except that from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise
126. Wa maa ja’alahul laahu illaa bushraa lakum wa litatma’inna quloobukum bih’ wa man-nasru illaa min ‘indilllaahil ‘Azeezil Hakeem

127. لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفًا مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنْقَلِبُوا خَائِبِينَ
Ayah 127. LLiyaqţa`a Ţarafāan Mina Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Aw Yakbitahum Fayanqalibū Khā’ibīna
3:127  that He ˹Allah˺ may cut off a part of those who disbelieved or suppress them so that they turn back disappointed.
127. Laiyaqta’a tarafam minal lazeena kafarooo aw yakbitahum fayanqaliboo khaaa’ibeen

128. لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ
Ayah 128. Laysa Laka Mina Al-‘Amri Shay’un Aw Yatūba `Alayhim Aw Yu`adhdhibahum Fa’innahum Žālimūna
3:128  Not for you ˹O Prophet˺ is of the decision in anything ˹but for Allah is˺ whether He ˹Allah˺ turns ˹in mercy˺ to them or punishes them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers.
128. Laisa laka minal amrishai’un aw yatooba ‘alaihim aw yu’az zi bahum fa innahum zaalimoon

129. وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ ۚ يَغْفِرُ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
Ayah 129. Wa Lillahi As-Samāwāti Wa Mā Al-‘Arđi Yaghfiru Liman Yashā’u Wa Yu`adhdhibu Man Yashā’u Wa Allāhu Ghafūrun Raĥīmun
3:129  And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, He forgives whoever He wills and punishes whoever He wills. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
129. Wa lillahi maa fissamaawaati wa maa fil-ard; yaghfiru limai-yashaaa’u wa yu’azzibu mai-yashaaa’; wallaahu Ghafoorur Raheem (section 13)

130. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَأْكُلُوا الرِّبَا أَضْعَافًا مُضَاعَفَةً ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
Ayah 130. YYā ‘Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna Āmanū Ta’kulū Ar-Ribā ‘Ađ`āfāan Muđā`afatan Wa Attaqū Allāha La`allakum Tufliĥūna
3:130  O you who believe! Do not eat the usury doubled, multiplied. And fear Allah so that you may be successful.
130. Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo la takulu ribaaa ad’aafam mudaa’afatanw wattaqul laaha la’allakum tuflihoon

131. وَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ الَّتِي أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَافِرِينَ
Ayah 131. Wa Attaqū An-Nāra Allatī U`iddat Lilkāfirīna
3:131  And fear the Fire which is prepared for the disbelievers.
131. Wattaqun Naaral lateee u’iddat lilkaafireen


132. وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
Ayah 132. Wa ‘Aţī`ū Allāha Wa Ar-Rasūla La`allakum Turĥamūna
3:132  And obey Allah and the Messenger, so that you may receive mercy.
132. Wa atee’ul laaha war Rasoola la’allakum turhamoon


133. وَسَارِعُوا إِلَىٰ مَغْفِرَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا السَّمَاوَاتُ وَالْأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
Ayah 133. Wa Sāri`ū ‘Ilá Maghfiratin Min Rabbikum Wa Jannatin `Arđuhā As-Samāwātu Wa Al-‘ArđuU`iddat Lilmuttaqīna
3:133  And hasten towards forgiveness from your Lord and a Garden, its width is the heavens and the earth prepared for the righteous.
133. Wa saari’ooo ilaa maghfiratim mir Rabbikum wa Jannatin arduhassamaawaatu wal ardu u’iddat lilmuttaqeen

134. الَّذِينَ يُنْفِقُونَ فِي السَّرَّاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ وَالْكَاظِمِينَ الْغَيْظَ وَالْعَافِينَ عَنِ النَّاسِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Ayah 134. Al-Ladhīna Yunfiqūna As-Sarrā’i Wa Ađ-Đarrā’i Wa Al-Kāžimīna Al-Ghayža Wa Al-`Āfīna `Ani An-Nāsi Wa Allāhu Yuĥibbu Al-Muĥsinīna
3:134 ˹They are˺ those who spend in the ease (i.e., good times) and in the hardship and those who control their anger and are forgiving to the people; and Allah loves the good-doers.
134. Allazeena yunfiqoona fissarraaa’i waddarraaa’i wal kaazimeenal ghaiza wal aafeena ‘anin-naas; wallaahu yuhibbul muhsineen


135. وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَنْ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلُوا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
Ayah 135. Wa Al-Ladhīna Idhā Fa`alū Fāĥishatan ‘Aw Žalamū Anfusahum Dhakarū Allāha Fāstaghfarū Lidhunūbihim Wa Man Yaghfiru Adh-Dhunūba Illā Allāhu Wa Lam Yuşirrū `Alá Fa`alū Wa Hum Ya`lamūna
3:135 ˹They are˺ and those when they committed immorality or wronged themselves, they remember Allah then ask forgiveness for their sinsand who can forgive the sins except Allah? And they did not continue on what ˹wrong˺ they committed, while they know.
135. Wallazeena izaa fa’aloo faahishatan aw zalamooo anfusahum zakarul laaha fastaghfaroo lizunoobihim; wa mai yaghfiruz zunooba illal laahu wa lam yusirroo ‘alaa maa fa’aloo wa hum ya’lamoon

136. أُولَٰئِكَ جَزَاؤُهُمْ مَغْفِرَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ الْعَامِلِينَ
Ayah 136. ‘‘Ūlā’ika Jazā’uuhum Maghfiratun Min Rabbihim Wa Jannātun Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-‘Anhāru Khālidīna Fīhā Wa Ni`maAjru Al-`Āmilīna
3:136  Those, their reward is forgiveness from their Lord and Gardens from underneath it the rivers flows, staying forever in it. And an excellent reward for the righteous workers.
136. Ulaaa’ika jazaaa’uhum maghfiratum mir Rabbihim wa Jannaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feeha; wa ni’ma ajrul ‘aamileen


137. قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ
Ayah 137. QQad Khalat Min Qablikum Sunanun Fasīrū Al-‘Arđi Fānžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Mukadhdhibīna
3:137  Certainly, similar situations have passed from before you, so travel in the land and see how was the end of the deniers.
137. Qad khalat min qablikum sunanum faseeroo fil ardi fanzuroo kaifa kaana ‘aaqiba tul mukazzibeen


138. هَٰذَا بَيَانٌ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
Ayah 138. Hādhā Bayānun Lilnnāsi Wa Hudáan Wa Maw`ižatun Lilmuttaqīna
3:138  This is a clear statement to the humankind and guidance and instruction for the God-fearing.
138. Haazaa bayaanul linnaasi wa hudanw wa maw’izatul lilmuttaqeen


139. وَلَا تَهِنُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنْتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
Ayah 139. Wa Lā Tahinū Wa Lā Taĥzanū Wa ‘Antumu Al-‘A`lawnaIn Kuntum Mu’uminīna
3:139  And do not be weak and do not grieve and you will have the upper hand, if you are ˹true˺ believers.
139. Wa laa tahinoo wa laa tahzanoo wa antumul a’lawna in kuntum mu’mineen

140. إِنْ يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ الْقَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِثْلُهُ ۚ وَتِلْكَ الْأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنْكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ
Ayah 140. ‘In Yamsaskum Qarĥun Faqad Massa Al-Qawma Qarĥun Mithluhu Wa Tilka Al-‘Ayyāmu Nudāwiluhā Bayna An-Nāsi Wa Liya`lama Allāhu Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Wa Yattakhidha Minkum Shuhadā’a Wa Allāhu Yuĥibbu Až-Žālimīna
3:140  If a wound has touched you ˹at Uḥud˺, so certainly the wound similar to it had touched the ˹opposing˺ people ˹at Badr˺. And this days ˹of victory and defeat˺, We alternate them among the people and so that Allah may make evident those who believe, and take ˹to Himself˺ martyrs from among you. And Allah does not love the wrongdoers.
140. Iny-yamsaskum qarhum faqad massal qawma qarhum misluh; wa tilkal ayyaamu nudaawiluhaa bainan naasi wa liya’lamal laahul lazeena aamanoo wa yattakhiza minkum shuhadaaa’; wallaahu laa yuh ibbuz zaalimeen

141. وَلِيُمَحِّصَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَمْحَقَ الْكَافِرِينَ
Ayah 141. Wa Liyumaĥĥişa Allāhu Al-Ladhīna Āmanū Wa Yamĥaqa Al-Kāfirīna
3:141  And so that Allah may purify those who believe and destroy the disbelievers.
141. Wa liyumahhisal laahul lazeena aamanoo wa yamhaqal kaafireen

142. أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَنْ تَدْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا مِنْكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ الصَّابِرِينَ
Ayah 142. ‘Am Ĥasibtum ‘An Tadkhulū Al-Jannata Wa Lammā Ya`lami Allāhu Al-Ladhīna Jāhadū Minkum Wa Ya`lama Aş-Şābirīna
3:142  Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while Allah has not yet made evident those who strove hard among you and made evident the steadfast (i.e., patient ones).
142. Am hasibtum an tadkhulul Jannnata wa lammaa ya’lamil laahul lazeena jaahadoo minkum wa ya’lamas saabireen

143. وَلَقَدْ كُنْتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ الْمَوْتَ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنْتُمْ تَنْظُرُونَ
Ayah 143. Wa Laqad Kuntum Tatamannawn Al-Mawta Min Qabli An Talqawhu Faqad Ra’aytumūhu Wa ‘Antum Tanžurūna
3:143  And certainly you used to wish for death ˹as martyrs˺ from before that you met it, then indeed, ˹now˺ you have seen it ˹before you˺ while you were looking on ˹with your own eyes˺.
143. Wa laqad kuntum tamannnawnal mawta min qabli an talqawhu faqad ra aitumoohu wa antum tanzuroon (section 14)

144. وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلَّا رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ ۚ أَفَإِنْ مَاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ انْقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ ۚ وَمَنْ يَنْقَلِبْ عَلَىٰ عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَنْ يَضُرَّ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا ۗ وَسَيَجْزِي اللَّهُ الشَّاكِرِينَ
Ayah 144. Wa Mā Muĥammadun ‘Illā Rasūlun Qad Khalat Min Qablihi Ar-RusuluAfa’īn Māta ‘Aw Qutila Anqalabtum `Alá A`qābikum Wa Man Yanqalib `Alá `Aqibayhi Falan Yađurra Allāha Shay’āan Wa Sayajzī Allāhu Ash-Shākirīna
3:144  And Muhammad is not but a Messenger, certainly ˹other˺ Messengers passed away from before him (i.e., Muhammad). So if he died or is killed, will you turn back (i.e., to disbelief) on your heels? And whoever turns back (i.e., to disbelief) on his heels, then he will never harm Allah in anything. And Allah will reward the thankful ones.
144. Wa maa Muhammadun illaa Rasoolun qad khalat min qablihir Rusul; afa’im maata aw qutilan qalabtum ‘alaaa a’qaabikum; wa mai yanqalib ‘alaa aqibaihi falai yadurral laaha shai’aa; wa sayajzil laahush shaakireen

145. وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَنْ تَمُوتَ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ كِتَابًا مُؤَجَّلًا ۗ وَمَنْ يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَنْ يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الْآخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا ۚ وَسَنَجْزِي الشَّاكِرِينَ
Ayah 145. Wa Mā Kāna Linafsin ‘An TamūtaIllā Bi’idhni Allāhi Kitābāan Mu’uajjalāan Wa Man Yurid Thawāba Ad-Dunyā Nu’utihi Minhā Wa Man Yurid Thawāba Al-‘Ākhirati Nu’utihi Minhā Wa Sanajzī Ash-Shākirīna
3:145  And it is not ˹possible˺ for a soul that he dies except by the permission of Allah, at a written appointed time. And whoever desires reward of the worldWe will give him of it; and whoever desires reward of the Hereafter We will give him of it. And We will reward thankful ones.
145. Wa maa kaana linafsin an tamoota illaa bi iznillaahi kitaabam mu’ajjalaa; wa mai yurid sawaabad dunyaa nu’tihee minhaa wa mai yurid sawaabal Aakhirati nu’tihee minhaa; wa sanajzish shaakireen

146. وَكَأَيِّنْ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ قَاتَلَ مَعَهُ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌ فَمَا وَهَنُوا لِمَا أَصَابَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوا وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الصَّابِرِينَ
Ayah 146. Wa Ka’ayyin Min Nabīyin Qātala Ma`ahu Ribbīyūna Kathīrun Famā Wahanū LimāAşābahum Sabīli Allāhi Wa Mā Đa`ufū Wa Mā Astakānū Wa Allāhu Yuĥibbu Aş-Şābirīna
3:146  And how many of the Prophets, alongside with him fought many godly people. But they did not lose assurance for whatever they suffered in the way of Allah and they did not weaken and they did not give in. And Allah loves the patient ones.
146. Wa ka aiyim min Nabiyyin qaatala ma’ahoo ribbiyyoona kaseerun famaa wahanoo limaaa Asaabahum fee sabeelil laahi wa maa da’ufoo wa mas takaanoo; wallaahu yuhibbus saabireen

147. وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
Ayah 147. Wa Mā Kāna Qawlahum ‘IllāAn Qālū Rabbanā Aghfir Lanā Dhunūbanā Wa ‘Isrāfanā ‘Amrinā Wa ThabbitAqdāmanā Wa Anşurnā `Alá Al-Qawmi Al-Kāfirīna
3:147  and their saying was nothing except that they said, “Our Lord, forgive for us our sins and our excesses in our affairs (i.e., matters) and make our feet firm and give us victory over the disbelieving people.”
147. Wa maa kaana qawlahum illaa an qaaloo Rabbanagh fir lanaa zunoobanaa wa israafanaa feee amrinaa wa sabbit aqdaamanaa wansurnaa ‘alal qawmil kaafireen

148. فَآتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ الْآخِرَةِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Ayah 148. Fa’ātāhumu Allāhu Thawāba Ad-Dunyā Wa Ĥusna Thawābi Al-‘Ākhirati Wa Allāhu Yuĥibbu Al-Muĥsinīna
3:148  So Allah gave them the reward in the world and the excellent reward in the Hereafter. And Allah loves the good-doers.
148. Fa aataahumul laahu sawaabad dunyaa wa husna sawaabil Aakhirah; wallaahu yuhibbul muhsineen (section 15)

149. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنْ تُطِيعُوا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَىٰ أَعْقَابِكُمْ فَتَنْقَلِبُوا خَاسِرِينَ
Ayah 149. YYā ‘Ayyuhā Al-LadhīnaĀmanū In Tuţī`ū Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yaruddūkum `Alá ‘A`qābikum Fatanqalibū Khāsirīna
3:149  O you who believe! If you obey those who disbelieve, they will cause you to turn back on your heels (i.e., to disbelief), then you will turn back as losers.
149. Yaaa ‘aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo in tutee’ullazeena kafaroo yaruddookum ‘alaaa a’qaabikum fatanqaliboo khaasireen

150. بَلِ اللَّهُ مَوْلَاكُمْ ۖ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ النَّاصِرِينَ
Ayah 150. Bali Allāhu Mawlākum Wa Huwa Khayru An-Nāşirīna
3:150  Nay, Allah is your Protector and He is the best of the Helpers.
150. Balil laahu mawlaakum wa Huwa khairun naasireen

PART 4 151- 200

151. سَنُلْقِي فِي قُلُوبِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا الرُّعْبَ بِمَا أَشْرَكُوا بِاللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِ سُلْطَانًا ۖ وَمَأْوَاهُمُ النَّارُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الظَّالِمِينَ
Ayah 151. SSanulqī Qulūbi Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Ar-Ru`ba Bimā ‘Ashrakū Billāhi Lam Yunazzil Bihi Sulţānāan Wa Ma‘wāhumu An-Nāru Wa Bi’sa Mathwá Až-Žālimīna
3:151  We will throw terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve because they associated ˹partners˺with Allah, of which He ˹Allah˺ had not sent down authority for it, and their home will be the Fire and evil is the resting place of the wrongdoers.
151. Sanulqee fee quloobil lazeena kafarur ru’ba bimaaa ashrakoo billaahi maa lam yunazzil bihee sultaana wa ma’wahumun Naar; wa bi’sa maswaz zaalimeen

152. وَلَقَدْ صَدَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ إِذْ تَحُسُّونَهُمْ بِإِذْنِهِ ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فَشِلْتُمْ وَتَنَازَعْتُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ وَعَصَيْتُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا أَرَاكُمْ مَا تُحِبُّونَ ۚ مِنْكُمْ مَنْ يُرِيدُ الدُّنْيَا وَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يُرِيدُ الْآخِرَةَ ۚ ثُمَّ صَرَفَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ لِيَبْتَلِيَكُمْ ۖ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا عَنْكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Ayah 152. Wa Laqad Şadaqakumu Allāhu Wa`dahu ‘Idh Taĥussūnahum Bi’idhnihi Ĥattá ‘Idhā Fashiltum Wa Tanāza`tum Al-‘Amri Wa `Aşaytum Min Ba`di Mā ‘Arākum Tuĥibbūna Minkum Man Yurīdu Ad-Dunyā Wa Minkum Man Yurīdu Al-‘Ākhirata Thumma Şarafakum `Anhum Liyabtaliyakum Wa Laqad `Afā `Ankum Wa Allāhu Dhū Fađlin `Alá Al-Mu’uminīna
3:152  And certainly Allah fulfilled His promise to you, when you were destroying them (i.e., enemy) by His permission, until when you lost courage and you fell into dispute concerning the order ˹given by the Prophet˺ and you disobeyed from after what He had shown you what you love. Among you are some who desire the world and among you are some who desire the Hereafter. Then He diverted you from them (i.e., enemy) so that He may test you. And surely He forgave you. And Allah is the Possessor of Bounty for the believers.
152. Wa laqad sadaqakumul laahu wa’dahooo iz tahussoo nahum bi iznihee hattaaa izaa fashiltum wa tanaaza’tum fil amri wa ‘asaitum mim ba’di maaa araakum maa tuhibboon; minkum mai yureedud dunyaa wa minkum mai yureedul Aakhirah; summa sarafakum ‘anhum  liyabtaliyakum wa laqad ‘afaa ‘ankum; wallaahu zoo fadlin ‘alal mu’mineen

153. إِذْ تُصْعِدُونَ وَلَا تَلْوُونَ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ وَالرَّسُولُ يَدْعُوكُمْ فِي أُخْرَاكُمْ فَأَثَابَكُمْ غَمًّا بِغَمٍّ لِكَيْلَا تَحْزَنُوا عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمْ وَلَا مَا أَصَابَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
Ayah 153. ‘Idh Tuş`idūna Wa Lā Talwūna `Alá ‘Aĥadin Wa Ar-Rasūlu Yad`ūkum ‘Ukhrākum Fa’athābakum Ghammāan Bighammin Likaylā Taĥzanū `Alá Fātakum Wa Lā Aşābakum Wa Allāhu Khabīrun Bimā Ta`malūna
3:153 ˹Remember˺ when you were running uphill and were not looking at anyone while the Messenger ˹Muhammad˺ was calling you in from behind you. So ˹Allah˺ rewarded you with distress upon distress so that you would not grieve over what you lost and nor whatever you suffered. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
153. Iz tus’idoona wa laa talwoona ‘alaaa ahadinw war Rasoolu yad’ookum feee ukhraakum fa asaabakum ghammam bighammil likailaa tahzanoo ‘alaa maa faatakum wa laa maaa asaabakum; wallaahu khabeerum bimaa ta’maloon

154. ثُمَّ أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ الْغَمِّ أَمَنَةً نُعَاسًا يَغْشَىٰ طَائِفَةً مِنْكُمْ ۖ وَطَائِفَةٌ قَدْ أَهَمَّتْهُمْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ يَظُنُّونَ بِاللَّهِ غَيْرَ الْحَقِّ ظَنَّ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ۖ يَقُولُونَ هَلْ لَنَا مِنَ الْأَمْرِ مِنْ شَيْءٍ ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ الْأَمْرَ كُلَّهُ لِلَّهِ ۗ يُخْفُونَ فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ مَا لَا يُبْدُونَ لَكَ ۖ يَقُولُونَ لَوْ كَانَ لَنَا مِنَ الْأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ مَا قُتِلْنَا هَاهُنَا ۗ قُلْ لَوْ كُنْتُمْ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ لَبَرَزَ الَّذِينَ كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَتْلُ إِلَىٰ مَضَاجِعِهِمْ ۖ وَلِيَبْتَلِيَ اللَّهُ مَا فِي صُدُورِكُمْ وَلِيُمَحِّصَ مَا فِي قُلُوبِكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ
Ayah 154. TThummaAnzala `Alaykum Min Ba`di Al-Ghammi Amanatan Nu`āsāan Yaghshá Ţā’ifatan Minkum Wa Ţā’ifatun Qad Ahammat/hum ‘Anfusuhum Yažunnūna Billāhi Ghayra Al-Ĥaqqi Žanna Al-Jāhilīyati Yaqūlūna Hal Lanā Mina Al-‘Amri Min Shay’in QulInna Al-‘Amra Kullahu Lillāhi Yukhfūna Anfusihim Yubdūna Laka Yaqūlūna Law Kāna Lanā Mina Al-‘Amri Shay’un Qutilnā Hāhunā Qul Law Kuntum Buyūtikum Labaraza Al-Ladhīna Kutiba `Alayhimu Al-Qatlu ‘Ilá Mađāji`ihim Wa Liyabtaliya Allāhu Şudūrikum Wa Liyumaĥĥişa Qulūbikum Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Bidhāti Aş-Şudūri
3:154  Then from after the distress He sent down upon you security (i.e., calmness) in the form of drowsiness overcoming a group of you, while a group certainly worried about themselves thinking about Allah other than the truth – the thought of the ˹pre-Islamic˺ ignorance. saying, Do we have any thing to say of the matter?” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ Indeed the matter, all of it is for Allah.” They hide in themselves what they do not reveal to you, They say, “If it had been for us to say anything of the matter we would have not been killed here. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Even if you were in your houses, those upon whom the death was decreed surely would have come out to their places of death. So that Allah might test what is in your chests and that He may purify what is in your hearts. And Allah is All-Aware of what is in the chests.
154. Summa anzala ‘alaikum mim ba’dil ghammi amanatan nu’aasai yaghshaa taaa’ ifatam minkum wa taaa’ifatun qad ahammat-hum anfusuhum yazunnoona billaahi ghairal haqqi zannal jaahiliyyati yaqooloona hal lanaa minal amri min shai’; qul innal amra kullahoo lillaah; yukhfoona fee anfusihim maa laa yubdoona laka yaqooloona law kaana lanaa minal amri shai’ummaa qutilnaa haahunaa; qul law kuntum fee buyootikum labarazal lazeena kutiba ‘alaihimul qatlu ilaa madaaji’ihim wa liyabtaliyal laahu maa fee sudoorikum wa liyumah hisa maa fee quloobikum; wallaahu ‘aleemum bizaatis sudoor

If it had been anything for us to say of the matter, we would have not been killed here.

If it had been for us anything to say of the matter, we would have not been killed here.

If it had been for us to say anything of the matter we would have not been killed here.

If you were in your houses, surely the death would have come out to their places of death for those who upon them which it was decreed.

those upon whom the death was decreed surely would have come out to their places of death

those upon whom the death dead has already been decreed (written), surely would have come out to their places of death.

155. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوْا مِنْكُمْ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ إِنَّمَا اسْتَزَلَّهُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ بِبَعْضِ مَا كَسَبُوا ۖ وَلَقَدْ عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ حَلِيمٌ
Ayah 155. ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Tawallaw Minkum Yawma At-Taqá Al-Jam`āni ‘Innamā Astazallahumu Ash-Shayţānu Biba`đi Kasabū Wa Laqad `Afā Allāhu `Anhum ‘Inna Allāha Ghafūrun Ĥalīmun
3:155  Indeed, those ˹believers˺ who turned back (i.e., fled) among you on the day the two armies met only the Satan made them slip for some of what ˹misdeeds˺ they had earned. And Allah surely forgave them, indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Forbearing.
155. Innal lazeena tawallaw minkum yawmal taqal jam’aani innamas tazallahumush Shaitaanu biba’di maa kasaboo wa laqad ‘afal laahu ‘anhum; innnal laaha Ghafoorun Haleem (section 16)

156. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَقَالُوا لِإِخْوَانِهِمْ إِذَا ضَرَبُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ أَوْ كَانُوا غُزًّى لَوْ كَانُوا عِنْدَنَا مَا مَاتُوا وَمَا قُتِلُوا لِيَجْعَلَ اللَّهُ ذَٰلِكَ حَسْرَةً فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ
Ayah 156. YYā ‘Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Takūnū Kālladhīna Kafarū Wa Qālū Li’khwānihimIdhā Đarabū Al-‘Arđi ‘Aw Kānū Ghuzzáan Law Kānū `Indanā Mātū Wa Mā Qutilū Liyaj`ala Allāhu Dhālika Ĥasratan Qulūbihim Wa Allāhu Yuĥyī Wa Yumītu Wa Allāhu Bimā Ta`malūna Başīrun
3:156  O you who believe! Do not be like those who disbelieved and said about their brothers when they traveled in the earth or they were fighting, “If they had been with us, they would have not died and they would have not been killed.So Allah makes that a regret in their hearts. And Allah gives life and causes death, and Allah is All-Seer of what you do.
156. Yaaa ayyuhul lazeena aamanoo laa takoonoo kallazeena kafaroo wa qaaloo li ikhwaanihim izaa daraboo fil ardi aw kaanoo ghuzzal law kaanoo ‘indanaa maa maatoo wa maa qutiloo liyaj’alal laahu zaalika hasratan fee quloobihim; wallaahu yuhyee wa yumeet; wallaahu bimaa ta’maloona Baseer

157. وَلَئِنْ قُتِلْتُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ مُتُّمْ لَمَغْفِرَةٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَحْمَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِمَّا يَجْمَعُونَ
Ayah 157. Wa La’in Qutiltum Sabīli Allāhi ‘Aw Muttum Lamaghfiratun Mina Allāhi Wa Raĥmatun Khayrun Mimmā Yajma`ūna
3:157  And if you are killed in the way of Allah or die – certainly, forgiveness from Allah and Mercy are better than whatever they accumulate ˹in this world˺.
157. Wa la’in qutiltum fee sabeelil laahi aw muttum lamaghfiratum minal laahi wa rahmatun khairum mimmaa yajma’oon

158. وَلَئِنْ مُتُّمْ أَوْ قُتِلْتُمْ لَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُحْشَرُونَ
Ayah 158. Wa La’in Muttum ‘Aw Qutiltum La’ilá Allāhi Tuĥsharūna
3:158  And if you die or are killed, surely to Allah you will be gathered.
158. Wa la’im muttum ‘aw qutiltum la il allahi tuhsharoon

159. فَبِمَا رَحْمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ لِنْتَ لَهُمْ ۖ وَلَوْ كُنْتَ فَظًّا غَلِيظَ الْقَلْبِ لَانْفَضُّوا مِنْ حَوْلِكَ ۖ فَاعْفُ عَنْهُمْ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ وَشَاوِرْهُمْ فِي الْأَمْرِ ۖ فَإِذَا عَزَمْتَ فَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَوَكِّلِينَ
Ayah 159. Fabimā Raĥmatin Mina Allāhi Linta Lahum Wa Law Kunta Fažžāan Ghalīža Al-Qalbi Lānfađđū Min Ĥawlika Fā`fu `Anhum Wa Astaghfir Lahum Wa Shāwirhum Al-‘Amri Fa’idhā `Azamta Fatawakkal `Alá Allāhi ‘Inna Allāha Yuĥibbu Al-Mutawakkilīna
3:159  So because of Mercy from Allah, you ˹O Prophet,˺ dealt gently with them. And if you had been rude and harsh at heart, surely they would have dispersed (i.e., left) from around you. Then pardon them and ask forgiveness for them and consult them in ˹conducting˺ the matter. And when you have decided, then put trust on Allah. Indeed, Allah loves the ones who put trust in Him.
159. Fabimaa rahmatim minal laahi linta lahum wa law kunta fazzan ghaleezal qalbi lanfaddoo min hawlika fa’afu ‘anhum wastaghfir lahum wa shaawirhum fil amri fa izaa ‘azamta fatawakkal ‘alal laah; innallaaha yuhibbul mutawak kileen

160. إِنْ يَنْصُرْكُمُ اللَّهُ فَلَا غَالِبَ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ يَخْذُلْكُمْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَنْصُرُكُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ ۗ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Ayah 160. ‘In Yanşurkumu Allāhu Falā Ghāliba Lakum Wa ‘In Yakhdhulkum Faman Dhā Al-Ladhī Yanşurukum Min Ba`dihi Wa `Alá Allāhi Falyatawakkali Al-Mu’uminūna
3:160  If Allah helps you, then none can overcome you, and if He abandons you, then who is the one who can help you from after Him? And upon Allah let the believers put their trust. 
160. Iny-yansurkumul laahu falaa ghaaliba lakum wa iny-yakhzulkum faman zal lazee yansurukum min ba’dih; wa ‘alal laahi falyatawakkalil mu’minoon

161. وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَنْ يَغُلَّ ۚ وَمَنْ يَغْلُلْ يَأْتِ بِمَا غَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۚ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
Ayah 161. Wa Mā Kāna Linabīyin ‘An Yaghulla Wa Man Yaghlul Ya’ti Bimā Ghalla Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Thumma Tuwaffá Kullu Nafsin Kasabat Wa Hum Yužlamūna
3:161  And it is not ˹attributable˺ for a Prophet that he acts unfaithfully. And whoever acts unfaithfully will bring what he has acted unfaithfully on the Day of Resurrection. Then every soul will be repaid in full for what it earned and they will not be wronged.
161. Wa maa kaana li Nabiyyin ai yaghull; wa mai yaghlul ya’tibimaa ghalla Yawmal Qiyaamah; summa tuwaffaa kullu nafsim maa kasabat wa hum laa yuzlamoon

162. أَفَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ رِضْوَانَ اللَّهِ كَمَنْ بَاءَ بِسَخَطٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَمَأْوَاهُ جَهَنَّمُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ
Ayah 162. ”Afamani Attaba`a Riđwāna Allāhi Kaman Bā’a Bisakhaţin Mina Allāhi Wa Ma’wāhu Jahannamu Wa Bi’sa Al-Maşīru
3:162  So is the one who pursues the pleasure of Allah; can ever be like the one who draws on himself the anger of Allah and his (i.e., one who draws anger of Allah) resting place is hell, and evil is the destination?
162. Afamanit taba’a Ridwaanal laahi kamam baaa’a bisakhatim minal laahi wa ma’waahu Jahannam; wa bi’sal maseer

163. هُمْ دَرَجَاتٌ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ
Ayah 163. Hum Darajātun `Inda Allāhi Wa Allāhu Başīrun Bimā Ya`malūna
3:163  They have different ranks with Allah, and Allah is All-Seer of what they do.
163. Hum darajaatun ‘indal laah; wallaahu baseerum bimaa ya’maloon

164. لَقَدْ مَنَّ اللَّهُ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ بَعَثَ فِيهِمْ رَسُولًا مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ يَتْلُو عَلَيْهِمْ آيَاتِهِ وَيُزَكِّيهِمْ وَيُعَلِّمُهُمُ الْكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَإِنْ كَانُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ لَفِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ
Ayah 164. LLaqad Manna Allāhu `Alá Al-Mu’uminīna ‘Idh Ba`atha Fīhim Rasūlāan MinAnfusihim Yatlū `Alayhim ‘Āyātihi Wa Yuzakkīhim Wa Yu`allimuhumu Al-Kitāba Wa Al-Ĥikmata Wa ‘In Kānū Min Qablu Lafī Đalālin Mubīnin
3:164  Certainly Allah has done a ˹great˺ Favor upon the believers when He raised among them a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His Verses and purifying them, and teaching them the Book and the wisdom, although they were from before that surely in clear error.
164. Laqad mannal laahu ‘alal mu’mineena iz ba’asa feehim Rasoolam min anfusihim yatloo ‘alaihim Aayaatihee wa yuzakkeehim wa yu’allimu humul Kitaaba wal Hikmata wa in kaanoo min qablu lafee dalaalim mubeen

165. أَوَلَمَّا أَصَابَتْكُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ قَدْ أَصَبْتُمْ مِثْلَيْهَا قُلْتُمْ أَنَّىٰ هَٰذَا ۖ قُلْ هُوَ مِنْ عِنْدِ أَنْفُسِكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Ayah 165. ‘AwalammāAşābatkum Muşībatun Qad Aşabtum Mithlayhā QultumAnná Hādhā Qul Huwa Min `IndiAnfusikumInna Allāha `Alá Kulli Shay’in Qadīrun
3:165  Or when disaster struck you ˹at Uhud˺, surely you had struck them twice of it ˹at Badr˺, you said, “From where is this?” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ It is from yourselves.” Indeed, Allah is All-Powerful on every thing.
165. Awa lammaaa asaabatkum museebatun qad asabtum mislaihaa qultum annaa haazaa qul huwa min ‘indi anfusikum; innal laaha ‘alaa kulli shai’in Qadeer

166. وَمَا أَصَابَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْتَقَى الْجَمْعَانِ فَبِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Ayah 166. Wa Mā ‘Aşābakum Yawma At-Taqá Al-Jam`āni Fabi’idhni Allāhi Wa Liya`lama Al-Mu’uminīna
3:166  And what struck you on the day when the two armies met was by the permission of Allah and that He ˹Allah˺ might make evident the ˹true˺ believers.
166. Wa maa asaabakum yawmal taqal jam’aani fabi iznil laahi wa liya’lamal mu’mineen

167. وَلِيَعْلَمَ الَّذِينَ نَافَقُوا ۚ وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ تَعَالَوْا قَاتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوِ ادْفَعُوا ۖ قَالُوا لَوْ نَعْلَمُ قِتَالًا لَاتَّبَعْنَاكُمْ ۗ هُمْ لِلْكُفْرِ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَقْرَبُ مِنْهُمْ لِلْإِيمَانِ ۚ يَقُولُونَ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ مَا لَيْسَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَكْتُمُونَ
Ayah 167. Wa Liya`lama Al-Ladhīna Nāfaqū Wa Qīla Lahum Ta`ālaw Qātilū Sabīli Allāhi Aw Adfa`ū Qālū Law Na`lamu Qitālāan Lāttaba`nākum Hum Lilkufri Yawma’idhinAqrabu Minhum Lil’īmāni Yaqūlūna Bi’afwhihim Laysa Qulūbihim Wa Allāhu ‘A`lamu Bimā Yaktumūna
3:167  And that He ˹Allah˺ might make evident those who are hypocrites. And it was said to them (i.e., hypocrites), “Come, fight in the way of Allah or ˹at least˺ defend.They said,If we knew there would be fighting, we would have certainly followed you.” They (i.e., hypocrites) that day were nearer to disbelief than to the belief, saying with their mouths what was not in their hearts. And Allah is All Knowing of what they conceal.
167. Wa liya’lamal lazeena naafaqoo; wa qeela lahum ta’aalaw qaatiloo fee sabeelil laahi awid fa’oo qaaloo law na’lamu qitaalallat taba’naakum; hum lilkufri yawma’izin aqrabu minhum lil eemaan; yaqooloona bi afwaahihim maa laisa fee quloobihim; wallaahu a’lamu bimaa yaktumoon

168. الَّذِينَ قَالُوا لِإِخْوَانِهِمْ وَقَعَدُوا لَوْ أَطَاعُونَا مَا قُتِلُوا ۗ قُلْ فَادْرَءُوا عَنْ أَنْفُسِكُمُ الْمَوْتَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
Ayah 168. Al-Ladhīna Qālū Li’khwānihim Wa Qa`adū LawAţā`ūnā Qutilū Qul Fādra’ū `AnAnfusikumu Al-MawtaIn Kuntum Şādiqīna
3:168  Those who (i.e., held back from fighting) said about their brothers (i.e., who were killed in the way of Allah), while they themselves sat,If they had obeyed us they would have not been killed.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Then prevent the death from yourselves, if you are truthful.
168. Allazeena qaaloo li ikhwaanihim wa qa’adoo law ataa’oonaa maa qutiloo; qul fadra’oo’an anfusikumul mawta in kuntum saadiqeen

169. وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ
Ayah 169. Wa Lā Taĥsabanna Al-Ladhīna Qutilū Sabīli Allāhi Amwātāan BalAĥyā’un `Inda Rabbihim Yurzaqūna
3:169  And do not think of those who are killed in the way of Allah as dead. Nay! They (i.e., martyred) are alive with their Lord ˹Allah˺; they are given provision.
169. Wa laa tahsabannal lazeena qutiloo fee sabeelillaahi amwaata; bal ahyaaa’un ‘inda Rabbihim yurzaqoon

170. فَرِحِينَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَيَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِالَّذِينَ لَمْ يَلْحَقُوا بِهِمْ مِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلَّا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
Ayah 170. Fariĥīna BimāĀtāhumu Allāhu Min Fađlihi Wa Yastabshirūna Bial-Ladhīna Lam Yalĥaqū Bihim Min Khalfihim ‘Allā Khawfun `Alayhim Wa Lā Hum Yaĥzanūna
3:170  rejoicing in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounty, and they receive good news about those ˹to be martyred˺ who have not yet joined them from after them that there will be no fear on them and nor will they grieve.
170. Fariheena bimaaa aataa humul laahu min fadlihee wa yastabshiroona billazeena lam yalhaqoo bihim min khalfihim allaa khawfun ‘alaihim wa laa hum yahzanoon

171. يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ بِنِعْمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
Ayah 171. YYastabshirūna Bini`matin Mina Allāhi Wa Fađlin Wa ‘Anna Allāha Yuđī`u Ajra Al-Mu’uminīna
3:171  They receive good news of Favor from Allah and Bounty and that Allah does not let the reward of the believers go to waste.
171. Yastabshiroona bini’matim minal laahi wa fad linw wa annal laaha laa yudee’u ajral mu’mineen (section 17)

172. الَّذِينَ اسْتَجَابُوا لِلَّهِ وَالرَّسُولِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا أَصَابَهُمُ الْقَرْحُ ۚ لِلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا مِنْهُمْ وَاتَّقَوْا أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
Ayah 172. Al-Ladhīna Astajābū Lillāhi Wa Ar-Rasūli Min Ba`di Aşābahumu Al-Qarĥu Lilladhīna ‘Aĥsanū Minhum Wa Attaqaw Ajrun `Ažīmun
3:172 ˹As for˺ those who responded to Allah and the Messenger from after that injury struck them, for those who did good among them and feared Allah is a great reward.
172. Allazeenas tajaaboo lil laahi war Rasooli mim ba’di maaa asaabahumulqarh; lillazeena ahsanoo minhum wattaqaw ajrun ‘azeem

173. الَّذِينَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
Ayah 173. Al-Ladhīna Qāla Lahumu An-Nāsu ‘Inna An-Nāsa Qad Jama`ū Lakum Fākhshawhum FazādahumĪmānāan Wa Qālū Ĥasbunā Allāhu Wa Ni`ma Al-Wakīlu
3:173  Those to whom the people said (i.e., warned), Indeed the people have certainly gathered against you, so fear them.” But it (i.e., warning) increased their faith and they said,Allah is sufficient for us and ˹He is the˺ best Disposer of affairs.”
173. Allazeena qaala lahumun naasu innan naasa qad jama’oo lakum fakhshawhum fazaadahum emaananw wa qaaloo hasbunal laahu wa ni’malwakeel

174. فَانْقَلَبُوا بِنِعْمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَفَضْلٍ لَمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوءٌ وَاتَّبَعُوا رِضْوَانَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيمٍ
Ayah 174. FFānqalabū Bini`matin Mina Allāhi Wa Fađlin Lam Yamsas/hum Sū’un Wa Attaba`ū Riđwāna Allāhi Wa Allāhu Dhū Fađlin `Ažīmin
3:174  So they returned with the Favor of Allah and Bounty, and no harm touched them. And they followed the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is Possessor of great Bounty.
174. Fanqalaboo bini’matim minal laahi wa fadlil lam yamsashum sooo’unw wattaba’oo ridwaanal laah; wallaahu zoo fadlin ‘azeem

175. إِنَّمَا ذَٰلِكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ يُخَوِّفُ أَوْلِيَاءَهُ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمْ وَخَافُونِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
Ayah 175. ‘Innamā Dhalikumu Ash-Shayţānu Yukhawwifu ‘Awliyā’ahu Falā Takhāfūhum Wa KhāfūniIn Kuntum Mu’uminīna
3:175  It is only the Satan that frightens you of his allies. So do not fear them, but fear Me ˹Allah˺, if you are ˹true˺ believers.
175. Innamaa zaalikumush Shaitaanu yukhawwifu awliyaaa’ahoo falaa takhaafoohum wa khaafooni in kuntum mu’mineen

176. وَلَا يَحْزُنْكَ الَّذِينَ يُسَارِعُونَ فِي الْكُفْرِ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ لَنْ يَضُرُّوا اللَّهَ شَيْئًا ۗ يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ أَلَّا يَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ حَظًّا فِي الْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
Ayah 176. Wa Lā Yaĥzunka Al-Ladhīna Yusāri`ūna Al-Kufri Innahum Lan Yađurrū Allāha Shay’āan Yurīdu AllāhuAllā Yaj`ala Lahum Ĥažžāan Al-‘Ākhirati Wa Lahum `Adhābun `Ažīmun
3:176 ˹O Prophet!˺ And do not be grieved for those who hasten into the disbelief. Indeed, they will never harm Allah in anything. Allah intends that He will not set for them any share in the Hereafter. And for them is a great punishment.
176. Wa laa yahzunkal lazeena yusaari’oona fil Kufr; innahum lai yadurrul laaha shai’aa; yureedul laahu allaa yaj’ala lahum hazzan fil Aakhirati wa lahum ‘azaabun ‘azeem

177. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ اشْتَرَوُا الْكُفْرَ بِالْإِيمَانِ لَنْ يَضُرُّوا اللَّهَ شَيْئًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Ayah 177. ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Ashtaraw Al-Kufra Bil-‘Īmāni Lan Yađurrū Allāha Shay’āan Wa Lahum `Adhābun ‘Alīmun
3:177  Indeed, those who purchase disbelief in exchange for the belief, they will never harm Allah in anything, and for them is a painful punishment.
177. Innal lazeenash tarawul kufra bil eemaani lai yadurrul laaha shai’anw wa lahum ‘azaabun aleem

178. وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّمَا نُمْلِي لَهُمْ خَيْرٌ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا نُمْلِي لَهُمْ لِيَزْدَادُوا إِثْمًا ۚ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ
Ayah 178. Wa Lā Yaĥsabanna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Annamā Numlī Lahum Khayrun Li’anfusihim ‘Innamā Numlī Lahum Liyazdādū ‘Ithmāan Wa Lahum `Adhābun Muhīnun
3:178  And those who disbelieve should not think that the more time We give them is good for themselves. We only give to them more time so that they may increase in sins, and for them is a humiliating punishment.
178. Wa laa yahsabannal lazeena kafarooo annamaa numlee lahum khairulli anfusihim; innamaa numlee lahum liyazdaadooo ismaa wa lahum ‘azaabum muheen

179. مَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَذَرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلَىٰ مَا أَنْتُمْ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّىٰ يَمِيزَ الْخَبِيثَ مِنَ الطَّيِّبِ ۗ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَجْتَبِي مِنْ رُسُلِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۖ فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِ ۚ وَإِنْ تُؤْمِنُوا وَتَتَّقُوا فَلَكُمْ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
Ayah 179. Kāna Allāhu Liyadhara Al-Mu’uminīna `Alá Antum `Alayhi Ĥattá Yamīza Al-Khabītha Mina Aţ-Ţayyibi Wa Mā Kāna Allāhu Liyuţli`akum `Alá Al-Ghaybi Wa Lakinna Allāha Yajtabī Min Rusulihi Man Yashā’u Fa’āminū Billāhi Wa Rusulihi Wa ‘In Tu’uminū Wa Tattaqū FalakumAjrun `Ažīmun
3:179  Allah is not going to leave the believers on that ˹state˺ you ˹are presently˺ in until He ˹Allah˺ separates the evil from the good. And Allah is not going to inform you about the unseen, but Allah chooses from His Messengers whom He wills, so believe in Allah and His Messengers, and if you believe and are mindfull˹of Allah˺ then for you is a great reward.
179. Maa kaanal laahu liyazaral mu’mineena ‘alaa maaa antum ‘alaihi hattaa yameezal khabeesa minat taiyib; wa maa kaanal laahu liyutli’akum ‘alal ghaibi wa laakinnal laaha yajtabee mir rusulihee mai yashaaa’; fa aaminoo billaahi wa Rusulih; wa in tu ‘minoo wa tattaqoo falakum ajrun ‘azeem

180. وَلَا يَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ بِمَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ ۖ بَلْ هُوَ شَرٌّ لَهُمْ ۖ سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَاثُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌ
Ayah 180. Wa Lā Yaĥsabanna Al-Ladhīna Yabkhalūna Bimā Ātāhumu Allāhu Min Fađlihi Huwa Khayrāan Lahum Bal Huwa Sharrun Lahum Sayuţawwaqūna Bakhilū Bihi Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Wa Lillahi Mīrāthu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Wa Allāhu Bimā Ta`malūna Khabīrun
3:180  And do not let those who ˹greedily˺ withhold that which Allah has given them of His Bounty think that it is good for them. No, it is bad for them. Their necks will be encircled (i.e., surrounded) with what they withheld with it on the Day of the Resurrection. And to Allah is the inheritance of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
180. Wa laa yahsabannal lazeena yabkhaloona bimaa aataahumul laahu min fadilhee huwa khairal lahum bal huwa sharrul lahum sayutaw waqoona maa bakhiloo bihee Yawmal Qiyaamah; wa lillaahi meeraasus samaawaati wal ard; wallaahu bimaa ta’maloona Khabeer (section 18)

181. لَقَدْ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ قَوْلَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ فَقِيرٌ وَنَحْنُ أَغْنِيَاءُ ۘ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَالُوا وَقَتْلَهُمُ الْأَنْبِيَاءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَنَقُولُ ذُوقُوا عَذَابَ الْحَرِيقِ
Ayah 181. LLaqad Sami`a Allāhu Qawla Al-Ladhīna QālūInna Allāha Faqīrun Wa NaĥnuAghniyā’u Sanaktubu Qālū Wa Qatlahumu Al-‘Anbiyā’a Bighayri Ĥaqqin Wa Naqūlu Dhūqū `Adhāba Al-Ĥarīqi
3:181  Indeed, Allah has heard the statement of those who said,Indeed Allah is poor while we are rich.” We will record what they said and their killing of the Prophets ˹unjustly˺ without the right, and We will say, “Taste the punishment of the Burning Fire.
181. Laqad sami’al laahu qawlal lazeena qaalooo innal laaha faqeerunw wa nahnu aghniyaaa’; sanaktubu maa qaaloo wa qatlahumul Ambiyaa’a bighairi haqqinw wa naqoolu zooqoo ‘azaabal Hareeq

182. ذَٰلِكَ بِمَا قَدَّمَتْ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ لَيْسَ بِظَلَّامٍ لِلْعَبِيدِ
Ayah 182. Dhālika Bimā Qaddamat ‘Aydīkum Wa ‘Anna Allāha Laysa Bižallāmin Lil`abīdi
3:182  That is for what your hands have sent ahead and that Allah is never unjust to ˹His˺ servants.
182. Zaalika bimaa qaddamat aideekum wa annal laaha laisa bizallaamil lil’abeed

sent/brought forth/sent before/done/forwarded ahead

183. الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَهِدَ إِلَيْنَا أَلَّا نُؤْمِنَ لِرَسُولٍ حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَنَا بِقُرْبَانٍ تَأْكُلُهُ النَّارُ ۗ قُلْ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِنْ قَبْلِي بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَبِالَّذِي قُلْتُمْ فَلِمَ قَتَلْتُمُوهُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
Ayah 183. Al-Ladhīna Qālū ‘Inna Allāha`Ahida ‘Ilaynā Allā Nu’umina Lirasūlin Ĥattá Ya’tiyanā Biqurbānin Ta’kuluhu An-Nāru Qul Qad Jā’akum Rusulun Min Qablī Bil-Bayyināti Wa Bial-Ladhī Qultum Falima QataltumūhumIn Kuntum Şādiqīna
3:183  Those who said,Indeed Allah has taken promise from us that we should not believe in a Messenger until he brings to us a sacrifice consumed by the fire ˹from the sky˺.Say, ˹O Prophet,˺Surely Messengers came to you from before me with the clear Signs and with what you speak. So why did you kill them, if you are truthful.
183. Allazeena qaalooo innal laaha ‘ahida ilainaaa allaa nu’mina liRasoolin hatta ya’tiyanaa biqurbaanin ta kuluhun naar; qul qad jaaa’akum Rusulum min qablee bilbaiyinaati wa billazee qultum falima qataltumoohum in kuntum saadiqeen

184. فَإِنْ كَذَّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كُذِّبَ رُسُلٌ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ جَاءُوا بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالزُّبُرِ وَالْكِتَابِ الْمُنِيرِ
Ayah 184. Fa’in Kadhdhabūka Faqad Kudhdhiba Rusulun Min Qablika Jā’ū Bil-Bayyināti Wa Az-Zuburi Wa Al-Kitābi Al-Munīri
3:184  Then if they deny you ˹O Prophet,˺ so certainly were Messengers from before you denied, who brought the clear Signs and the Scriptures and the Enlightening Book.
184. Fa in kaz zabooka faqad kuz ziba Rusulum min qablika jaaa’oo bilbaiyinaati waz Zuburi wal Kitaabil Muneer

185. كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۖ فَمَنْ زُحْزِحَ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ ۗ وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ
Ayah 185. Kullu Nafsin Dhā’iqatu Al-Mawti Wa ‘Innamā Tuwaffawna ‘Ujūrakum Yawma Al-Qiyāmati Faman Zuĥziĥa `Ani An-Nāri Wa ‘Udkhila Al-Jannata Faqad Fāza Wa Mā Al-Ĥayāatu Ad-Dunyā ‘Illā Matā`u Al-Ghurūri
3:185  Every soul will taste death, and you will only be paid your reward in full on the Day of the Resurrection. Then whoever is drawn away from the Fire and is admitted to Paradise then surely he is successful. And the life of the world is nothing except an enjoyment of delusion (i.e., deception).
185. Kullu nafsin zaaa’iqatul mawt; wa innamaa tuwaffawna ujoorakum Yawmal Qiyaamati faman zuhziha ‘anin Naari wa udkhilal Jannata faqad faaz; wa mal hayaatud dunyaaa illaa mataa’ul ghuroor

And what is the life of the world except an enjoyment of delusion.

And the life of the world is not but an enjoyment of delusion.

And the life of the world is nothing except an enjoyment of delusion (i.e., deception).

And the life of the world is nothing except an enjoyment (i.e., means) to deceive.

And the life of the world is nothing except an enjoyment (i.e., means) of deception.

And the life of the world is nothing except a deception of enjoyment (i.e., means).

3:185  Every soul (will) taste [the] death, and only you will be paid in full your reward (on the) Day (of) [the] Resurrection. Then whoever is drawn away from the Fire and admitted (to) Paradise then surely he is successful. And not (is) the life (of) the world except enjoyment (of) delusion.

186. لَتُبْلَوُنَّ فِي أَمْوَالِكُمْ وَأَنْفُسِكُمْ وَلَتَسْمَعُنَّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُوا أَذًى كَثِيرًا ۚ وَإِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا فَإِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْأُمُورِ
Ayah 186. LLatublawunna Amwālikum Wa ‘Anfusikum Wa Latasma`unna Mina Al-Ladhīna ‘Ūtū Al-Kitāba Min Qablikum Wa Mina Al-Ladhīna ‘Ashrakū ‘Adháan Kathīrāan Wa ‘In Taşbirū Wa Tattaqū Fa’inna Dhālika Min `Azmi Al-‘Umūri
3:186  You will certainly be tested in your wealth and yourselves. And you will certainly hear from those who were given the Book from before you and from those who associate partners with Allahmany hurtful things, and if you are patient and fear ˹Allah˺ then indeed, that is of the matters of determination.
186. Latublawunna feee amwaalikum wa anfusikum wa latasma’unna minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba min qablikum wa minal lazeena ashrakooo azan kaseeraa; wa in tasbiroo wa tattaqoo fa inna zaalika min ‘azmil umoor

3:186  You will certainly be tested in your wealth and yourselves. And you will certainly hear from those who were given the Book from before you and from those who associate partners with Allahhurtful things many, and if you are patient and fear (Allah) then indeed, that (is) of the matters (of) determination.

187. وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ لَتُبَيِّنُنَّهُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَكْتُمُونَهُ فَنَبَذُوهُ وَرَاءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ وَاشْتَرَوْا بِهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا ۖ فَبِئْسَ مَا يَشْتَرُونَ
Ayah 187. Wa ‘Idh Akhadha Allāhu Mīthāqa Al-Ladhīna ‘Ūtū Al-Kitāba Latubayyinunnahu Lilnnāsi Wa Lā Taktumūnahu Fanabadhūhu Warā’a Žuhūrihim Wa Ashtaraw Bihi Thamanāan Qalīlāan Fabi’sa Yashtarūna
3:187 ˹Remember, O Prophet,˺ and when Allah took a Covenant from those who were given the Book,You must certainly make it clear to the people and do not hide it. Then/But they threw it behind their backs and they exchanged it for a small price. And wretched/worst/bad is what they purchase.
187. Wa iz akhazal laahu meesaaqal lazeena ootul Kitaaba latubaiyinunnahoo linnaasi wa laa taktumoona hoo fanabazoohu waraaa’a zuhoorihim washtaraw bihee samanan qaleelan fabi’sa maa yashtaroon

3:187  And when took Allah a Covenant (from) those who were given the Book,You certainly make it clear to the mankind and (do) not conceal it. Then they threw it behind their backs and they exchanged [with] it (for) a price little. And wretched (is) what they purchase.

188. لَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أَتَوْا وَيُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يُحْمَدُوا بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا فَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّهُمْ بِمَفَازَةٍ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Ayah 188. Taĥsabanna Al-Ladhīna Yafraĥūna Bimā ‘Ataw Wa Yuĥibbūna An Yuĥmadū Bimā Lam Yaf`alū Falā Taĥsabannahum Bimafāzatin Mina Al-`Adhābi Wa Lahum `Adhābun Alīmun
3:188  (Do) not think (that) those who rejoice in what (they have) brought and they love that they be praised for what they did not do so do not think that they will escape from the punishment; and for them is a painful punishment.
188. Laa tahsabannal lazeena yafrahoona bimaaa ataw wa yuhibbona ai yuhmadoo bimaa lam yaf’aloo falaa tahsabunnahum bimafaazatim minal ‘azaabi wa lahum ‘azaabun aleem

3:188  (Do) not think (that) those who rejoice in what (they have) brought and they love that they be praised for what not they do so (do) not think (that) they (will) escape from the punishment; and for them (is a) punishment painful.

189. وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Ayah 189. Wa Lillahi Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Wa Allāhu `Alá Kulli Shay’in Qadīrun
3:189  And for Allah is the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Allah is All-Powerful on every thing.
189. Wa lillaahi mulkus samaawaati wal ard; wallaahu ‘alaa kulli shai’in Qadeer (section 19)

3:189  And for Allah (is the) dominion (of) the heavens and the earth, and Allah (is) on every thing All-Powerful.

190. إِنَّ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَاخْتِلَافِ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ لَآيَاتٍ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ
Ayah 190. ‘Inna Khalqi As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Wa Akhtilāfi Al-Layli Wa An-Nahāri La’āyātin Li’wlī Al-‘Albābi
3:190  Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of the night and the day are surely Signs for men/those of understanding.
190. Inna fee khalqis samaawaati wal ardi wakhtilaafil laili wannahaari la Aayaatil liulil albaab

3:190  Indeed, in (the) creation (of) the heavens and the earth and (in the) alternation (of) the night and the day (are) surely Signs for men (of) understanding.

191. الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَٰذَا بَاطِلًا سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Ayah 191. Al-Ladhīna Yadhkurūna Allāha Qiyāmāan Wa Qu`ūdāan Wa `Alá Junūbihim Wa Yatafakkarūna Khalqi As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Rabbanā Khalaqta Hādhā Bāţilāan Subĥānaka Faqinā `Adhāba An-Nāri
3:191  Those who remember Allah while standing, and sitting and on their sides and they reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth, ˹saying˺ “Our Lord, You have not created ˹all of˺ this in vain/without purpose. Glory be to You, so save us from the punishment of the Fire.
191. Allazeena yazkuroonal laaha qiyaamanw-wa qu’oodanw-wa ‘alaa juno obihim wa yatafakkaroona fee khalqis samaawaati wal ardi Rabbanaa maa khalaqta haaza baatilan Subhaanaka faqinaa ‘azaaban Naar

3:191  Those who remember Allah standing, and sitting and on their sides and they reflect on (the) creation (of) the heavens and the earth, “Our Lord, not You have created this (in) vain. Glory be to You, so save us (from the) punishment (of) the Fire.

192. رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ مَنْ تُدْخِلِ النَّارَ فَقَدْ أَخْزَيْتَهُ ۖ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنْصَارٍ
Ayah 192. Rabbanā ‘Innaka Man Tudkhili An-Nāra Faqad ‘Akhzaytahu Wa Mā Lilžžālimīna Min Anşārin
3:192  Our Lord, indeed whom You admit to the Fire then surely You have disgraced him, and for the wrongdoers will not be any helpers.

And there will not be any helpers for the wrongdoers.
192. Rabbanaaa innaka man tudkhilin Naara faqad akhzai tahoo wa maa lizzaalimeena min ansaar

and for the wrongdoers will not have any helpers

3:192  Our Lord, indeed [You] whom You admit (to) the Fire then surely You (have) disgraced him, and not for the wrongdoers (are) any helpers.

193. رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي لِلْإِيمَانِ أَنْ آمِنُوا بِرَبِّكُمْ فَآمَنَّا ۚ رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ
Ayah 193. Rabbanā Innanā Sami`nā Munādīāan Yunādī Lil’īmāni ‘An Āminū Birabbikum Fa’āmannā Rabbanā Fāghfir Lanā Dhunūbanā Wa Kaffir `Annā Sayyi’ātinā Wa Tawaffanā Ma`a Al-‘Abrāri
3:193  Our Lord, indeed we heard a caller calling to the faith ˹saying˺ that Believe in your Lord,so we have believed. Our Lord so forgive for us/us our sins and remove from/for us our evil deeds, and cause us to die with the righteous.
193. Rabbanaaa innanaa sami’naa munaadiyai yunaadee lil eemaani an aaminoo bi Rabbikum fa aamannaa; Rabbanaa faghfir lanaa zunoobanaa wa kaffir ‘annaa saiyi aatina wa tawaffanaa ma’al abraar

3:193  Our Lord, indeed we [we] heard a caller calling to the faith that Believe in your Lord,so we have believed. Our Lord so forgive for us our sins and remove from us our evil deeds, and cause us to die with the righteous.

194. رَبَّنَا وَآتِنَا مَا وَعَدْتَنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ
Ayah 194. Rabbanā Wa ‘Ātinā Wa`adtanā `Alá Rusulika Wa Lā Tukhzinā Yawma Al-QiyāmatiInnaka Tukhlifu Al-Mī`āda
3:194  Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your Messengers and do not disgrace/humilitate us/put us to shame on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not break ˹Your˺ promise.
194. Rabbanaa wa aatinaa maa wa’attanaa ‘alaa Rusulika wa laa tukhzinaa Yawmal Qiyaamah; innaka laa tukhliful mee’aad

3:194  Our Lord, grant us what You promised us through Your Messengers and (do) not disgrace us (on the) Day (of) [the] Resurrection. Indeed, You (do) not break the promise.

195. فَاسْتَجَابَ لَهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ أَنِّي لَا أُضِيعُ عَمَلَ عَامِلٍ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَىٰ ۖ بَعْضُكُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ ۖ فَالَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا وَأُخْرِجُوا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ وَأُوذُوا فِي سَبِيلِي وَقَاتَلُوا وَقُتِلُوا لَأُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَأُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ ثَوَابًا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عِنْدَهُ حُسْنُ الثَّوَابِ
Ayah 195. FFāstajāba Lahum Rabbuhum ‘Annī Uđī`u `Amala `Āmilin Minkum Min Dhakarin Aw ‘Unthá Ba`đukum Min Ba`đin Fa-Al-Ladhīna Hājarū Wa ‘Ukhrijū Min Diyārihim Wa ‘Ūdhū Sabīlī Wa Qātalū Wa Qutilū La’ukaffiranna `Anhum Sayyi’ātihim Wa La’udkhilannahum Jannātin Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-‘Anhāru Thawābāan Min `Indi Allāhi Wa Allāhu `Indahu Ĥusnu Ath-Thawābi
3:195  Then their Lord responded to them, Indeed, I (will) not (let go) waste deeds (of the) doer among you [from] (whether) male or female each of you from (the) other. So those who emigrated and were driven out from their homes, and were harmed in My way and fought and were killed surely I (will) remove from them their evil deeds and surely I will admit them (to) Gardens flowing from underneath them the rivers a reward from [near] Allah. And Allah with Him (is the) best reward.
195. Fastajaaba lahum Rabbuhum annee laaa Udee’u ‘amala ‘aamilim minkum min zakarin aw unsaa ba’dukum min ba’din fal lazeena haajaroo wa ukhrijoo min diyaarihim wa oozoo fee sabeelee wa qaataloo wa qutiloo la ukaffiranna ‘anhum saiyi aatihim wa la udkhilanna hum Jannnatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru sawaabam min ‘indil laah; wallaahu ‘indahoo husnus sawaab

3:195  Then responded to them their Lord, Indeed, I (will) not (let go) waste deeds (of the) doer among you [from] (whether) male or female each of you from (the) other. So those who emigrated and were driven out from their homes, and were harmed in My way and fought and were killed surely I (will) remove from them their evil deeds and surely I will admit them (to) Gardens flowing from underneath them the rivers a reward from [near] Allah. 196. لَا يَغُرَّنَّكَ تَقَلُّبُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي الْبِلَادِ
Ayah 196. Yaghurrannaka Taqallubu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Al-Bilādi
3:196  (Let) not deceive you (the) movement (of) those who disbelieved in the land.
196. Laa yaghurrannaka taqal lubul lazeena kafaroo fil bilaad

3:196  (Let) not deceive you (the) movement (of) those who disbelieved in the land.

197. مَتَاعٌ قَلِيلٌ ثُمَّ مَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ
Ayah 197. Matā`un Qalīlun Thumma Ma’wāhum Jahannamu Wa Bi’sa Al-Mihādu
3:197  An little enjoyment, then their abode is hell and a wretched the resting place.
197. Mataa’un qaleelun summa ma’waahum Jahannam; wa bi’sal mihaad

3:197  An enjoyment little, then their abode (is) hell [and] a wretched [the] resting place.

198. لَٰكِنِ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا نُزُلًا مِنْ عِنْدِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَمَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِلْأَبْرَارِ
Ayah 198. Lakini Al-Ladhīna Attaqaw Rabbahum Lahum Jannātun Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-‘Anhāru Khālidīna Fīhā Nuzulāan Min `Indi Allāhi Wa Mā `Inda Allāhi Khayrun Lil’abrāri
3:198  But those who fear their Lord, for them will be Gardens from underneath them flows the rivers, will stay in it forever a hospitality from near Allah. And what is with Allah is best for the righteous.
198. Laakinil lazeenat taqaw Rabbahum lahum Jannnaatun tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa nuzulammin ‘indil laah; wa maa ‘indal laahi khairul lil abraar

3:198  But those who fear their Lord, for them (will be) Gardens flows from underneath them the rivers, will abide forever in it a hospitality from [near] Allah. And what (is) with Allah (is) best for the righteous.

199. وَإِنَّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ لَمَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ خَاشِعِينَ لِلَّهِ لَا يَشْتَرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا ۗ أُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ
Ayah 199. Wa ‘Inna Min Ahli Al-Kitābi Laman Yu’uminu Billāhi Wa Mā Unzila ‘Ilaykum Wa MāUnzila ‘Ilayhim Khāshi`īna Lillāhi Yashtarūna Bi’āyāti Allāhi Thamanāan Qalīlāan ‘Ūlā’ika Lahum ‘Ajruhum `Inda Rabbihim ‘Inna Allāha Sarī`u Al-Ĥisābi
3:199  And indeed, among (the) People (of) the Book (are those) who believe in Allah and what was revealed to you and what was revealed to themhumbly submissive to Allah. Not (do) they exchange [with] (the) Verses (of) Allah (for) a price little. Those, for them, their reward (is) with their Lord. Indeed, Allah (is) swift (in taking) the account.
199. Wa inna min Ahlil Kitaabi lamai yu’minu billaahi wa maaa unzila ilaikum wa maaa unzila ilaihim khaashi ‘eena lillaahi laa yashtaroona bi Aayaatil laahi samanan qaleelaa; ulaaa’ika lahum ajruhum ‘inda Rabbihim; innal laaha saree’ul hisaab

3:199  And indeed, among (the) People (of) the Book (are those) who believe in Allah and what was revealed to you and what was revealed to themhumbly submissive to Allah. Not (do) they exchange [with] (the) Verses (of) Allah (for) a price little. Those, for them, their reward (is) with their Lord. Indeed, Allah (is) swift (in taking) the account.

200. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اصْبِرُوا وَصَابِرُوا وَرَابِطُوا وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
Ayah 200. YYā ‘Ayyuhā Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Aşbirū Wa Şābirū Wa Rābiţū Wa Attaqū Allāha La`allakum Tufliĥūna
3:200  O you who believe! Be steadfast and be patient and be constant and fear Allah so that you may be successful.
200. Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanus biroo wa saabiroo wa raabitoo wattaqul laaha la’allakum tuflihoon (section 20)

3:200  O you who believe[d]! Be steadfast and [be] patient and [be] constant and fear Allah so that you may (be) successful.
