1. ص ۚ وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ
Şād Wa Al-Qur’āni Dhī Adh-Dhikri
38:1  Saad. By the Quran full (of) the reminder.
1. Saaad; wal-Qur-aani ziz zikr
2. بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ
Bali Al-Ladhīna Kafarū `Izzatin Wa Shiqāqin
38:2  Nay, those who disbelieve (are) in self-glory and opposition.
2. Balil lazeena kafaroo fee ‘izzatinw wa shiqaaq
3. كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوْا وَلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ
Kam ‘Ahlaknā Min Qablihim Min Qarnin Fanādaw Walāta Ĥīna Manāşin
38:3  How many We destroyed from before them of a generation, then they called out when there (was) no longer time (for) escape.
3. Kam ahlaknaa min qablihim min qarnin fanaadaw wa laata heena manaas
4. وَعَجِبُوا أَنْ جَاءَهُمْ مُنْذِرٌ مِنْهُمْ ۖ وَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ
Wa `Ajibū ‘An Jā’ahum Mundhirun Minhum Wa Qāla Al-Kāfirūna Hādhā Sāĥirun Kadhdhābun
38:4  And they wonder that has come to them a warner from themselves. And said the disbelievers, “This (is) a magician, a liar.
4. Wa ‘ajibooo an jaaa’a hum munzirum minhum wa qaalal kaafiroona haazaa saahirun kazzaab
5. أَجَعَلَ الْآلِهَةَ إِلَٰهًا وَاحِدًا ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ
‘Aja`ala Al-‘Ālihata ‘Ilahāan Wāĥidāan ‘Inna HādhāLashay’un`Ujābun
38:5  Has he made the gods (into) god one? Indeed this (is) certainly a thing curious.”
5. Aja’alal aalihata Ilaahanw Waahidan inna haazaa lashai’un ‘ujaab
6. وَانْطَلَقَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَىٰ آلِهَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُرَادُ
Wa Anţalaqa Al-Mala’u Minhum ‘Ani Amshū Wa Aşbirū `Alá ‘Ālihatikum ‘Inna Hādhā Lashay’un Yurādu
38:6  And went forth the chiefs among them that, “Continue, and be patient over your gods. Indeed, this (is) certainly a thing intended.
6. Wantalaqal mala-u minhum anim shoo wasbiroo ‘alaaa aalihatikum innna haazaa lashai ‘uny yuraad
7. مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَٰذَا فِي الْمِلَّةِ الْآخِرَةِ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا اخْتِلَاقٌ
Sami`nā Bihadhā Fī Al-Millati Al-‘Ākhirati ‘In Hādhā ‘Illā Akhtilāqun
38:7  Not we heard of this in the religion the last. Not (is) this but a fabrication.
7. Maa sami’naa bihaazaa fil millatil aakhirati in haazaaa illakh tilaaq
8. أَأُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا ۚ بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِنْ ذِكْرِي ۖ بَلْ لَمَّا يَذُوقُوا عَذَابِ
‘A’uunzila `Alayhi Adh-Dhikru Min Bayninā Bal Hum  Shakkin Min Dhikrī Bal Lammā Yadhūqū `Adhābi
38:8  Has been revealed to him the Message from among us?” Nay, They (are) in doubt about My Message. Nay, not yet they have tasted My punishment.
8. ‘A-unzila ‘alaihiz zikru min baininaa; bal hum fee shakkin min Zikree bal lammaa yazooqoo ‘azaab
9. أَمْ عِنْدَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ الْعَزِيزِ الْوَهَّابِ
‘Am `Indahum Khazā’inu Raĥmati Rabbika Al-`Azīzi Al-Wahhābi
38:9  Or have they (the) treasures (of the) Mercy (of) your Lord the All-Mighty, the Bestower?
9. Am’indahum khazaaa ‘inu rahmati Rabbikal ‘Azeezil Wahhab
10. أَمْ لَهُمْ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا ۖ فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الْأَسْبَابِ
‘Am Lahum Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Falyartaqū  Al-‘Asbābi
38:10  Or for them (is the) dominion (of) the heavens and the earth and whatever (is) between them? Then let them ascend by the means.
10. Am lahum mulkus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa falyartaqoo fil asbaab
11. جُنْدٌ مَا هُنَالِكَ مَهْزُومٌ مِنَ الْأَحْزَابِ
Jundun  Hunālika Mahzūmun Mina Al-‘Aĥzābi
38:11  Soldiers – from there (they will be) defeated among the companies.
11. Jundum maa hunaalika mahzoomum minal Ahzaab
12. كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ ذُو الْأَوْتَادِ
Kadhdhabat Qablahum Qawmu Nūĥin Wa `Ādun Wa Fir`awnu Dhū Al-‘Awtādi
38:12  Denied before them (the) people (of) Nuh and Aad and Firaun, (the) owner (of) the stakes.
12. Kazzabat qablahum qawmu Noohinw wa ‘Aadunw wa Fir’awnu zul awtaad
13. وَثَمُودُ وَقَوْمُ لُوطٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ الْأَحْزَابُ
Wa Thamūdu Wa Qawmu Lūţin Wa ‘Aşĥābu Al-‘Aykati ‘Ūlā’ika Al-‘Aĥzābu
38:13  And Thamud and (the) people (of) Lut and (the) companions (of) the wood. Those (were) the companies.
13. Wa Samoodu wa qawmu Lootinw wa Ashaabul ‘Aykah; ulaaa’ikal Ahzaab
14. إِنْ كُلٌّ إِلَّا كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ عِقَابِ
‘In Kullun ‘Illā Kadhdhaba Ar-Rusula Faĥaqqa `Iqābi
38:14  Not all (of them) but denied the Messengers, so (was) just My penalty.
14. In kullun illaa kazzabar Rusula fahaqqa ‘iqaab (section 1)
15. وَمَا يَنْظُرُ هَٰؤُلَاءِ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً مَا لَهَا مِنْ فَوَاقٍ
Wa MāYanžuru Hā’uulā’ ‘Illā Şayĥatan Wāĥidatan Lahā Min Fawāqin
38:15  And not await these but a shout one; not for it any delay.
15. Wa maa yanzuru haaa ulaaa’i illaa saihatanw waahidatam maa lahaa min fawaaq
16. وَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا عَجِّلْ لَنَا قِطَّنَا قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ
Wa Qālū Rabbanā `Ajjil Lanā Qiţţanā Qabla Yawmi Al-Ĥisābi
38:16  And they say, “Our Lord! Hasten for us our share before (the) Day (of) the Account.”
16. Wa qaaloo Rabbanaa ‘ajjil lanaa qittanaa qabla Yawmil Hisaab
17. اصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا دَاوُودَ ذَا الْأَيْدِ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Aşbir `Alá Yaqūlūna Wa Adhkur `Abdanā Dāwūda Dhā Al-‘Aydi ‘Innahu ‘Awwābun
38:17  Be patient over what they say, and remember Our slave, Dawood, the possessor of strength. Indeed, he (was) repeatedly turning.
17. Isbir ‘alaa maa yaqooloona wazkur ‘abdanaa Daawooda zal aidi innahooo awwaab
18. إِنَّا سَخَّرْنَا الْجِبَالَ مَعَهُ يُسَبِّحْنَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِشْرَاقِ
‘Innā Sakhkharnā Al-Jibāla Ma`ahu Yusabbiĥna Bil-`Ashīyi Wa Al-‘Ishrāqi
38:18  Indeed, We subjected the mountains with him glorifying in the evening and [the] sunrise.
18. Innaa sakhkharnal jibaala ma’ahoo yusabbihna bil’ashiyyi wal ishraaq
19. وَالطَّيْرَ مَحْشُورَةً ۖ كُلٌّ لَهُ أَوَّابٌ
Wa Aţ-Ţayra Maĥshūratan Kullun Lahu ‘Awwābun
38:19  And the birds assembled, all with him repeatedly turning.
19. Wattayra mahshoorah; kullul lahooo awwaab
20. وَشَدَدْنَا مُلْكَهُ وَآتَيْنَاهُ الْحِكْمَةَ وَفَصْلَ الْخِطَابِ
Wa Shadadnā Mulkahu Wa ‘Ātaynāhu Al-Ĥikmata Wa Faşla Al-Khiţābi
38:20  And We strengthened his kingdom and We gave him [the] wisdom and decisive speech.
20. Wa shadadnaa mulkahoo wa aatainaahul Hikmata wa faslal khitaab
21. وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ نَبَأُ الْخَصْمِ إِذْ تَسَوَّرُوا الْمِحْرَابَ
Wa HalAtāka Naba’u Al-Khaşmi ‘Idh Tasawwarū Al-Miĥrāba
38:21  And has (there) come to you (the) news (of) the litigants, when they climbed over the wall (of) the chamber?
21. Wa hal ataaka naba’ul khasm; iz tasawwarul mihraab
22. إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَىٰ دَاوُودَ فَفَزِعَ مِنْهُمْ ۖ قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ ۖ خَصْمَانِ بَغَىٰ بَعْضُنَا عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تُشْطِطْ وَاهْدِنَا إِلَىٰ سَوَاءِ الصِّرَاطِ
Idh Dakhalū `Alá Dāwūda Fafazi`a Minhum Qālū Takhaf Khaşmāni Baghá Ba`đunā `Alá Ba`đin Fāĥkum Baynanā Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Lā Tushţiţ Wa Ahdinā ‘Ilá Sawā’i Aş-Şirāţi
38:22  When they entered upon Dawood and he was afraid of them, they said, “(Do) not fear. (We are) two litigants, has wronged one of us to another, so judge between us in truth and (do) not be unjust and guide us to an even [the] path.
22. Iz dakhaloo ‘alaa Daawooda fafazi’a minhum qaaloo laa takhaf khasmaani baghaa ba’dunaa ‘alaa ba’din fahkum bainanaaa bilhaqqi wa laa tushtit wahdinaaa ilaa Sawaaa’is Siraat
23. إِنَّ هَٰذَا أَخِي لَهُ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ نَعْجَةً وَلِيَ نَعْجَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ فَقَالَ أَكْفِلْنِيهَا وَعَزَّنِي فِي الْخِطَابِ
‘Inna Hādhā ‘Akhī Lahu Tis`un Wa Tis`ūna Na`jatan Wa Liya Na`jatun Wāĥidatun Faqāla ‘Akfilnīhā Wa `Azzanī Fī Al-Khiţābi
38:23  Indeed, this (is) my brother, he has ninety (i.e ninety nine) and nine (i.e ninety nine) ewe(s) while I have ewe one; so he said, “Entrust her to me,” and he overpowered me in [the] speech.”
23. Inna haazaaa akhee lahoo tis’unw wa tis’oona na’jatanw wa liya na’jatunw waahidah; faqaala akfilneeha wa ‘azzanee filkhitaab
24. قَالَ لَقَدْ ظَلَمَكَ بِسُؤَالِ نَعْجَتِكَ إِلَىٰ نِعَاجِهِ ۖ وَإِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنَ الْخُلَطَاءِ لَيَبْغِي بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَقَلِيلٌ مَا هُمْ ۗ وَظَنَّ دَاوُودُ أَنَّمَا فَتَنَّاهُ فَاسْتَغْفَرَ رَبَّهُ وَخَرَّ رَاكِعًا وَأَنَابَ ۩
Qāla Laqad Žalamaka Bisu’uāli Na`jatika ‘Ilá Ni`ājihi Wa ‘Inna Kathīrāan Mina Al-Khulaţā’i Layabghī Ba`đuhum `Alá Ba`đin ‘Illā Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Wa Qalīlun  Hum Wa Žanna Dāwūdu ‘Annamā Fatannāhu Fāstaghfara Rabbahu Wa Kharra Rāki`āan Wa ‘Anāba
38:24  He said, “Certainly, he has wronged you by demanding your ewe to his ewes. And indeed, many of the partners certainly oppress some of them [on] another except those who believe and do righteous deeds and few (are) they.” And became certain Dawood that We (had) tried him, and he asked forgiveness (of) his Lord and fell down bowing and turned in repentance.
24. Qaala laqad zalamaka bisu ‘aali na’jatika ilaa ni’aajih; wa inna kaseeran minal khulataaa’i la-yabghee ba’duhum ‘alaa ba’din illal lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati wa qaleelun maa hum; wa zanna Daawoodu annamaa fatannaahu fastaghfara Rabbahoo wa kharra raaki’anw wa anaab (make sajdah)
25. فَغَفَرْنَا لَهُ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِنْدَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ
Faghafarnā Lahu Dhālika Wa ‘Inna Lahu `Indanā Lazulfá Wa Ĥusna Ma’ābin
38:25  So We forgave for him that. And indeed, for him with Us surely is a near access and a good place of return.
25. Faghafarnaa lahoo zaalik; wa inna lahoo ‘indanaa lazulfaa wa husna ma aab
26. يَا دَاوُودُ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَاكَ خَلِيفَةً فِي الْأَرْضِ فَاحْكُمْ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ بِالْحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعِ الْهَوَىٰ فَيُضِلَّكَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَضِلُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا نَسُوا يَوْمَ الْحِسَابِ
Dāwūdu ‘Innā Ja`alnāka Khalīfatan Fī Al-‘Arđi Fāĥkum Bayna An-Nāsi Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Lā Tattabi`i Al-Hawá Fayuđillaka `An Sabīli Al-Lahi ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Yađillūna `An Sabīli Al-Lahi Lahum `Adhābun Shadīdun Bimā Nasū Yawma Al-Ĥisābi
38:26  “O Dawood! Indeed, We [We] have made you a vicegerent in the earth, so judge between [the] men in truth and (do) not follow the desire, for it will lead you astray from (the) way (of) Allah. Indeed, those who go astray from (the) way (of) Allah, for them (is) a punishment severe because they forgot (the) Day (of) Account.”
26. Yaa Daawoodu innaa ja’alnaaka khaleefatan fil ardi fahkum bainan naasi bilhaqqi wa laa tattabi’il hawaa fayudillaka ‘an sabeelil laah; innal lazeena yadilloona ‘an sabeelil laah; lahum ‘azaabun shadeedum bimaa nasoo Yawmal Hisaab (section 2)
27. وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاءَ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۚ فَوَيْلٌ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنَ النَّارِ
Wa Mā Khalaqnā As-Samā’a Wa Al-‘Arđa Wa Mā Baynahumā Bāţilāan Dhālika Žannu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Fawaylun Lilladhīna Kafarū Mina An-Nāri
38:27  And not We created the heaven and the earth and whatever (is) between them without purpose. That (is the) assumption (of) those who disbelieve. So woe to those who disbelieve, from the Fire.
27. Wa maa khalaqnas samaaa’a wal arda wa maa bainahumaa baatilaa; zaalika zannul lazeena kafaroo; fa waylul lil lazeena kafaroo minan Naar
28. أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ كَالْمُفْسِدِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ نَجْعَلُ الْمُتَّقِينَ كَالْفُجَّارِ
‘Am Naj`alu Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Kālmufsidīna Fī Al-‘Arđi ‘Am Naj`alu Al-Muttaqīna Kālfujjāri
38:28  Or should We treat those who believe and do righteous deeds like those who spread corruption in the earth? Or should We treat the pious like the wicked?
28. Am naj’alul lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati kalmufisdeena fil ardi am naj’alul muttaqeena kalfujjaar
29. كِتَابٌ أَنْزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ
Kitābun ‘Anzalnāhu ‘Ilayka Mubārakun Liyaddabbarū ‘Āyātihi Wa Liyatadhakkara ‘Ūlū Al-‘Albābi
38:29  (This is) a Book We have revealed it to you, blessed, that they may ponder (over) its Verses and may be reminded those of understanding.
29. Kitaabun anzalnaahu ilaika mubaarakul liyaddabbarooo Aayaatihee wa liyatazakkara ulul albaab
30. وَوَهَبْنَا لِدَاوُودَ سُلَيْمَانَ ۚ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Wa Wahabnā Lidāwūda Sulaymāna Ni`ma Al-`Abdu ‘Innahu ‘Awwābun
38:30  And We gave to Dawood Sulaiman, an excellent slave. Indeed, he (was) one who repeatedly turned.
30. Wa wahabnaa li Daawooda Sulaimaan; ni’mal ‘abd; innahoo awwaab
31. إِذْ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ بِالْعَشِيِّ الصَّافِنَاتُ الْجِيَادُ
‘Idh `Uriđa `Alayhi Bil-`Ashīyi Aş-Şāfinātu Al-Jiyādu
38:31  When were displayed to him in the afternoon (with) one foot raised (the) steeds.
31. Iz ‘urida ‘alaihi bil’ashiy yis saafinaatul jiyaad
32. فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ الْخَيْرِ عَنْ ذِكْرِ رَبِّي حَتَّىٰ تَوَارَتْ بِالْحِجَابِ
Faqāla ‘Innī ‘Aĥbabtu Ĥubba Al-Khayri `An Dhikri Rabbī Ĥattá Tawārat Bil-Ĥijābi
38:32  And he said, “Indeed, I [I] preferred (the) love (of) the good over (the) remembrance (of) my Lord.” Until they were hidden in the veil;
32. Faqaala inneee ahbabtu hubbal khairi ‘an zikri Rabbee hattaa tawaarat bilhijaab
33. رُدُّوهَا عَلَيَّ ۖ فَطَفِقَ مَسْحًا بِالسُّوقِ وَالْأَعْنَاقِ
Ruddūhā `Alayya Faţafiqa Masĥāan Bis-Sūqi Wa Al-‘A`nāqi
38:33  “Return them to me.” Then he began (to) pass (his hand) over the legs and the necks.
33. Ruddoohaa ‘alaiya fa tafiqa mas-ham bissooqi wal a’naaq
34. وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا سُلَيْمَانَ وَأَلْقَيْنَا عَلَىٰ كُرْسِيِّهِ جَسَدًا ثُمَّ أَنَابَ
Wa Laqad Fatannā Sulaymāna Wa ‘Alqaynā `Alá Kursīyihi Jasadāan Thumma Anāba
38:34  And certainly We tried Sulaiman, and We placed on his throne a body; then he turned.
34. Wa laqad fatannaa Sulaimaana wa alqainaa ‘alaa kursiyyihee jasadan summa anaab
35. قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكًا لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ
Qāla Rabbi Aghfir Wa Hab  Mulkāan  Yanbaghī Li’ĥadin Min Ba`dī ‘Innaka Anta Al-Wahhābu
38:35  He said, “O my Lord! Forgive me and grant me a kingdom, not (will) belong to anyone from after me. Indeed, You [You] (are) the Bestower.”
35. Qaala Rabbigh fir lee wa hab lee mulkal laa yambaghee li ahadin min ba’dee innaka Antal Wahhaab
36. فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ الرِّيحَ تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ رُخَاءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ
Fasakhkharnā Lahu Ar-Rīĥa Tajrī Bi’amrihi Rukhā’an Ĥaythu Aşāba
38:36  Then We subjected to him the wind to flow by his command, gently, wherever he directed,
36. Fa sakharnaa lahur reeha tajree bi amrihee rukhaaa’an haisu asaab
37. وَالشَّيَاطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّاءٍ وَغَوَّاصٍ
Wa Ash-Shayāţīna Kulla Bannā’in Wa Ghawwāşin
38:37  And the devils, every builder and diver,
37. Wash Shayaateena kulla bannaaa’inw wa ghawwaas
38. وَآخَرِينَ مُقَرَّنِينَ فِي الْأَصْفَادِ
Wa ‘Ākharīna Muqarranīna Fī Al-‘Aşfādi
38:38  And others bound in chains.
38. Wa aakhareena muqarraneena fil asfaad
39. هَٰذَا عَطَاؤُنَا فَامْنُنْ أَوْ أَمْسِكْ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
Hādhā `Aţā’uunā Fāmnun Aw Amsik Bighayri Ĥisābin
38:39  “This (is) Our gift, so grant or withhold without account.”
39. Haazaa ‘ataaa’unaa famnun aw amsik bighairi hisaab
40. وَإِنَّ لَهُ عِنْدَنَا لَزُلْفَىٰ وَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ
Wa ‘Inna Lahu `Indanā Lazulfá Wa Ĥusna Ma’ābin
38:40  And indeed, for him with Us surely is a near access and a good place of return.
40. Wa inna lahoo ‘indanaa lazulfaa wa husna ma-aab (section 3)
41. وَاذْكُرْ عَبْدَنَا أَيُّوبَ إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الشَّيْطَانُ بِنُصْبٍ وَعَذَابٍ
Wa Adhkur `Abdanā Ayyūba Idh Nādá Rabbahu Annī Massanī Ash-Shayţānu Binuşbin Wa `Adhābin
38:41  And remember Our slave Ayyub, when he called his Lord, That [I], (has) touched me Shaitaan with distress and suffering.”
41. Wazkur ‘abdanaaa Ayyoob; iz naada Rabbahooo annee massaniyash Shaitaanu bi nusbinw wa ‘azaab
42. ارْكُضْ بِرِجْلِكَ ۖ هَٰذَا مُغْتَسَلٌ بَارِدٌ وَشَرَابٌ
Arkuđ Birijlika Hādhā Mughtasalun Bāridun Wa Sharābun
38:42  “Strike with your foot. This (is a spring of) water to bathe, cool and a drink.”
42. Urkud bi rijlika haaza mughtasalun baaridunw wa sharaab
43. وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُ أَهْلَهُ وَمِثْلَهُمْ مَعَهُمْ رَحْمَةً مِنَّا وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ
Wa Wahabnā Lahu Ahlahu Wa Mithlahum Ma`ahum Raĥmatan Minnā Wa Dhikrá Li’wlī Al-‘Albābi
38:43  And We granted [to] him his family and a like of them with them, a Mercy from Us and a Reminder for those of understanding.
43. Wa wahabnaa lahoo ahlahoo wa mislahum ma’ahum rahmatan minna wa zikraa li ulil albaab
44. وَخُذْ بِيَدِكَ ضِغْثًا فَاضْرِبْ بِهِ وَلَا تَحْنَثْ ۗ إِنَّا وَجَدْنَاهُ صَابِرًا ۚ نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ
Wa Khudh Biyadika Đighthāan Fāđrib Bihi Wa Lā Taĥnath Innā Wa Jadnāhu Şābirāan Ni`ma Al-`AbduInnahu Awwābun
38:44  “And take in your hand a bunch and strike with it and (do) not break (your) oath.” Indeed, We [We] found him patient, an excellent slave. Indeed, he repeatedly turned.
44. Wa khuz biyadika dighsan fadrib bihee wa laa tahnas, innaa wajadnaahu saabiraa; ni’mal ‘abd; innahooo awwaab
45. وَاذْكُرْ عِبَادَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ أُولِي الْأَيْدِي وَالْأَبْصَارِ
Wa Adhkur `Ibādanā Ibrāhīma Wa ‘Isĥāqa Wa Ya`qūbaŪlī Al-‘Aydī Wa Al-‘Abşāri
38:45  And remember Our slaves Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqub, possessors (of) strength and vision.
45. Wazkur ‘ibaadanaaa Ibraaheema wa Is-haaqa wa Ya’qooba ulil-aydee walabsaar
46. إِنَّا أَخْلَصْنَاهُمْ بِخَالِصَةٍ ذِكْرَى الدَّارِ
Innā Akhlaşnāhum Bikhālişatin Dhikrá Ad-Dāri
38:46  Indeed, We [We] chose them for an exclusive (quality); remembrance (of) the Home.
46. Innaaa akhlasnaahum bi khaalisatin zikrad daar
47. وَإِنَّهُمْ عِنْدَنَا لَمِنَ الْمُصْطَفَيْنَ الْأَخْيَارِ
Wa ‘Innahum `Indanā Lamina Al-Muşţafayna Al-‘Akhyāri
38:47  And indeed, they to Us (are) from the chosen ones, the best.
47. Wa innahum ‘indanaa laminal mustafainal akhyaar
48. وَاذْكُرْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَالْيَسَعَ وَذَا الْكِفْلِ ۖ وَكُلٌّ مِنَ الْأَخْيَارِ
Wa Adhkur ‘Ismā`īla Wa Al-Yasa`a Wa Dhā Al-Kifli Wa Kullun Mina Al-‘Akhyāri
38:48  And remember Ismail and Al-Yasa and Dhul kifl, and all (are) from the best.
48. Wazkur Ismaa’eela wal Yasa’a wa Zal-Kifli wa kullun minal akhyaar
49. هَٰذَا ذِكْرٌ ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ لَحُسْنَ مَآبٍ
Hādhā Dhikrun Wa ‘Inna Lilmuttaqīna Laĥusna Ma’ābin
38:49  This (is) a Reminder. And indeed, for the righteous surely, is a good place of return,
49. Haazaa zikrun wa inna lil muttaqeena la husna ma aab
50. جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ مُفَتَّحَةً لَهُمُ الْأَبْوَابُ
Jannāti `Adnin Mufattaĥatan Lahumu Al-‘Abwābu
38:50  Gardens (of) Eternity, (will be) opened for them the gates.
50. Jannaati ‘adnin mufattahatan lahumul abwaab
51. مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَاكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ وَشَرَابٍ
Muttaki’īna Fīhā Yad`ūna Fīhā Bifākihatin Kathīratin Wa Sharābin
38:51  Reclining therein, they will call therein for fruit many and drink.
51. Muttaki’eena feehaa yad’oona feehaa bifaakihatin kaseeratinw wa sharaab
52. وَعِنْدَهُمْ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ أَتْرَابٌ
Wa `Indahum Qāşirātu Aţ-Ţarfi Atrābun
38:52  And with them (will be) ones who are restraining their glance well-matched.
52. Wa ‘indahum qaasiraatut tarfi atraab
53. هَٰذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ
Hādhā Tū`adūna Liyawmi Al-Ĥisābi
38:53  This (is) what you are promised for (the) Day (of) Account.
53. Haazaa maa too’adoona li Yawmil Hisaab
54. إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهُ مِنْ نَفَادٍ
Inna Hādhā Larizqunā Lahu Min Nafādin
38:54  Indeed, this (is) surely Our provision; not for it any depletion.
54. Inna haazaa larizqunaa maa lahoo min nafaad
55. هَٰذَا ۚ وَإِنَّ لِلطَّاغِينَ لَشَرَّ مَآبٍ
Hādhā Wa ‘Inna Lilţţāghīna Lasharra Ma’ābin
38:55  This (is so)! And indeed, for the transgressors surely (is) an evil place of return.
55. Haazaa; wa inna littaagheena lasharra ma-aab
56. جَهَنَّمَ يَصْلَوْنَهَا فَبِئْسَ الْمِهَادُ
Jahannama Yaşlawnahā Fabi’sa Al-Mihādu
38:56  Hell; they will burn therein and wretched (is) the resting place.
56. Jahannama yaslawnahaa fa bi’sal mihaad
57. هَٰذَا فَلْيَذُوقُوهُ حَمِيمٌ وَغَسَّاقٌ
Hādhā Falyadhūqūhu Ĥamīmun Wa Ghassāqun
38:57  This (is so)! Then let them taste it, boiling fluid and purulence.
57. Haazaa falyazooqoohu hameemunw wa ghassaaq
58. وَآخَرُ مِنْ شَكْلِهِ أَزْوَاجٌ
Wa ‘Ākharu Min Shaklihi Azwājun
38:58  And other of its type (of various) kinds.
58. Wa aakharu min shakliheee azwaaj
59. هَٰذَا فَوْجٌ مُقْتَحِمٌ مَعَكُمْ ۖ لَا مَرْحَبًا بِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ صَالُو النَّارِ
Hādhā Fawjun Muqtaĥimun Ma`akum Marĥabāan Bihim Innahum Şālū An-Nāri
38:59  This (is) a company bursting (in) with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they (will) burn (in) the Fire.
59. Haazaa fawjun muqtahimun ma’akum laa marhaban bihim; innahum saalun Naar
60. قَالُوا بَلْ أَنْتُمْ لَا مَرْحَبًا بِكُمْ ۖ أَنْتُمْ قَدَّمْتُمُوهُ لَنَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرَارُ
Qālū Bal Antum Marĥabāan Bikum Antum Qaddamtumūhu Lanā Fabi’sa Al-Qarāru
38:60  They say,Nay! You no welcome for you. You brought this upon us. So wretched (is) the settlement.
60. Qaaloo bal antum laa marhaban bikum; antum qaddamtumoohu lanaa fabi’sal qaraar
61. قَالُوا رَبَّنَا مَنْ قَدَّمَ لَنَا هَٰذَا فَزِدْهُ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا فِي النَّارِ
Qālū Rabbanā Man Qaddama Lanā Hādhā Fazid/hu `Adhābāan Đi`fāan  An-Nāri
38:61  They will say,Our Lord, whoever brought upon us this; increase for him a punishment double in the Fire.
61. Qaaloo Rabbanaa man qaddama lanaa haazaa fa zidhu ‘azaaban di’fan fin Naar
62. وَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لَا نَرَىٰ رِجَالًا كُنَّا نَعُدُّهُمْ مِنَ الْأَشْرَارِ
Wa Qālū Lanā Nará Rijālāan Kunnā Na`udduhum Mina Al-‘Ashrār
38:62  And they (will) say, “What (is) for us not we see men we used to count them among the bad ones?
62. Wa qaaloo maa lanaa laa naraa rijaalan kunnaa na’udduhum minal ashraar
63. أَتَّخَذْنَاهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا أَمْ زَاغَتْ عَنْهُمُ الْأَبْصَارُ
‘Āttakhadhnāhum Sikhrīyāan Am Zāghat `Anhumu Al-‘Abşāru
38:63  Did we take them (in) ridicule or has turned away from them the vision?”
63. Attakhaznaahum sikh riyyan am zaaghat ‘anhumul absaar
64. إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ لَحَقٌّ تَخَاصُمُ أَهْلِ النَّارِ
Inna Dhālika Laĥaqqun Takhāşumu Ahli An-Nāri
38:64  Indeed, that (is) surely (the) truth – (the) quarreling (of the) people (of) the Fire.
64. Inna zaalika lahaqqun takhaasumu Ahlin Naar (section 4)
65. قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا مُنْذِرٌ ۖ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْوَاحِدُ الْقَهَّارُ
Qul Innamā Anā Mundhirun Wa Mā Min Ilahin Illā Al-Lahu Al-Wāĥidu Al-Qahhāru
38:65  Say, “Only I am a warner, and not (is there) any god except Allah, the One the Irresistible,
65. Qul innamaaa ana munzirunw wa maa min laahin illal laahul Waahidul Qahhaar
66. رَبُّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفَّارُ
Rabbu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Wa Mā Baynahumā Al-`Azīzu Al-Ghaffāru
38:66  Lord (of) the heavens and the earth and whatever (is) between them, the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving.”
66. Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumal ‘Azeezul Ghaffaar
67. قُلْ هُوَ نَبَأٌ عَظِيمٌ
Qul Huwa Naba’un `Ažīmun
38:67  Say, “It (is) a news great,
67. Qul huwa naba’un ‘azeem
68. أَنْتُمْ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضُونَ
Antum `Anhu Mu`riđūna
38:68  You from it turn away
68. Antum ‘anhu mu’ridoon
69. مَا كَانَ لِيَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ بِالْمَلَإِ الْأَعْلَىٰ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ
Kāna Liya Min `Ilmin Bil-Mala’i Al-‘A`lá Idh Yakhtaşimūna
38:69  Not is for me any knowledge (of) the chiefs, the exalted when they were disputing.
69. Maa kaana liya min ‘ilmin bil mala’il a’laaa iz yakhtasimoon
70. إِنْ يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ إِلَّا أَنَّمَا أَنَا نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ
In Yūĥá Ilayya Illā Annamā Anā Nadhīrun Mubīnun
38:70  Not has been revealed to me except that only I am a warner clear.”
70. Iny-yoohaaa ilaiya illaaa anna maaa ana nazeerun mubeen
71. إِذْ قَالَ رَبُّكَ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ إِنِّي خَالِقٌ بَشَرًا مِنْ طِينٍ
Idh Qāla Rabbuka Lilmalā’ikatiInnī Khāliqun Basharāan Min Ţīnin
38:71  When said your Lord to the Angels, “Indeed, I Am going to create a human being from clay.
71. Iz qaala Rabbuka lilmalaaa’ikati innee khaaliqun basharan min teen
72. فَإِذَا سَوَّيْتُهُ وَنَفَخْتُ فِيهِ مِنْ رُوحِي فَقَعُوا لَهُ سَاجِدِينَ
Fa’idhā Sawwaytuhu Wa Nafakhtu Fīhi Min Rūĥī Faqa`ū Lahu Sājidīna
38:72  So when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My spirit, then fall down to him prostrating.”
72. Fa-iza sawwaituhoo wa nafakhtu feehi mir roohee faqa’oo lahoo saajideen
73. فَسَجَدَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ كُلُّهُمْ أَجْمَعُونَ
Fasajada Al-Malā’ikatu Kulluhum ‘Ajma`ūna
38:73  So prostrated the Angels all of them together.
73. Fasajadal malaaa’ikatu kulluhum ajma’oon
74. إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ اسْتَكْبَرَ وَكَانَ مِنَ الْكَافِرِينَ
Illā Iblīsa Astakbara Wa Kāna Mina Al-Kāfirīna
38:74  Except Iblis; he was arrogant and became of the disbelievers.
74. Illaaa Iblees; stakbara wa kaana minal kaafireen
75. قَالَ يَا إِبْلِيسُ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تَسْجُدَ لِمَا خَلَقْتُ بِيَدَيَّ ۖ أَسْتَكْبَرْتَ أَمْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الْعَالِينَ
Qāla Yā ‘Iblīsu Mana`akaAn Tasjuda Limā Khalaqtu Biyadayya Āstakbarta Am Kunta Mina Al-`Ālīna
38:75  He said, “O Iblis! What prevented you that you (should) prostrate to (one) whom I created with My Hands? Are you arrogant or are you of the exalted ones.”
75. Qaala yaaa Ibleesu maa mana’aka an tasjuda limaa khalaqtu bi yadaiya ‘a stakbarta am kunta min al ‘aaleen
76. قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ ۖ خَلَقْتَنِي مِنْ نَارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِنْ طِينٍ
Qāla Anā Khayrun Minhu Khalaqtanī Min Nārin Wa Khalaqtahu Min Ţīnin
38:76  He said,I am better than him. You created me from fire and You created him from clay.”
76. Qaala ana khairum minhu; khalaqtanee min naarinw wa khalaqtahoo min teen
77. قَالَ فَاخْرُجْ مِنْهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِيمٌ
Qāla Fākhruj Minhā Fa’innaka Rajīmun
38:77  He said, Then get out of it, for indeed, you (are) accursed.
77. Qaala fakhruj minhaa fa innaka rajeem
78. وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكَ لَعْنَتِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ
Wa ‘Inna `Alayka La`natī Ilá Yawmi Ad-Dīni
38:78  And indeed, upon you (is) My curse until (the) Day (of) Judgment.
78. Wa inna ‘alaika la’nateee ilaa Yawmid Deen
79. قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنْظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
Qāla Rabbi Fa’anžirnī Ilá Yawmi Yub`athūna
38:79  He said,My Lord! Then give me respite until (the) Day they are resurrected.”
79. Qaala Rabbi fa anzirneee ilaa Yawmi yub’asoon
80. قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِينَ
Qāla Fa’innaka Mina Al-Munžarīna
38:80  He said, Then indeed, you (are) of those given respite,
80. Qaala fa innaka minal munzareen
81. إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْوَقْتِ الْمَعْلُومِ
Ilá Yawmi Al-Waqti Al-Ma`lūmi
38:81  Until (the) Day (of) the time well-known.”
81. Ilaa Yawmil waqtil ma’loom
82. قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغْوِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Qāla Fabi`izzatika La’ughwiyannahum ‘Ajma`īna
38:82  He said,Then by Your might I will surely mislead them all.
82. Qaala fa bi ‘izzatika la ughwiyannahum ajma’een
83. إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنْهُمُ الْمُخْلَصِينَ
Illā `Ibādaka Minhumu Al-Mukhlaşīna
38:83  Except Your slaves among them the chosen ones.”
83. Illaa ‘ibaadaka minhumul mukhlaseen
84. قَالَ فَالْحَقُّ وَالْحَقَّ أَقُولُ
Qāla Fālĥaqqu Wa Al-Ĥaqqa Aqūlu
38:84  He said,Then (it is) the truth and the truth I say,
84. Qaala falhaqq, walhaqqa aqool
85. لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْكَ وَمِمَّنْ تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
La’amla’anna Jahannama Minka Wa Mimman Tabi`aka Minhum ‘Ajma`īna
38:85  Surely I will fill Hell with you and those who follow you among them all.”
85. La amla’anna Jahannama minka wa mimman tabi’aka minhum ajma’een
86. قُلْ مَا أَسْأَلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُتَكَلِّفِينَ
Qul Mā ‘As’alukum `Alayhi Min Ajrin Wa Mā ‘Anā Mina Al-Mutakallifīna
38:86  Say, “Not I ask of you for it any payment, and not I am of the ones who pretend.
86. Qul maaa as’alukum ‘alaihi min ajrinw wa maaa ana minal mutakallifeen
87. إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ
In Huwa Illā Dhikrun Lil`ālamīna
38:87  Not it (is) except a Reminder to the worlds.
87. In huwa illaa zikrul lil’aalameen
88. وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ نَبَأَهُ بَعْدَ حِينٍ
Wa Lata`lamunna Naba’ahu Ba`da Ĥīnin
38:88  And surely you will know its information after a time.”
88. Wa lata’lamunna naba ahoo ba’da heen (section 5)
