40:1  Ha Meem.
1. Haa-Meeem
2. تَنْزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ
Tanzīlu Al-Kitābi Mina Al-Lahi Al-`Azīzi Al-`Alīmi
40:2  (The) revelation (of) the Book (is) from Allah the All-Mighty, the All-Knower.
2. Tanzeelul Kitaabi minal laahil Azeezil ‘Aleem
3. غَافِرِ الذَّنْبِ وَقَابِلِ التَّوْبِ شَدِيدِ الْعِقَابِ ذِي الطَّوْلِ ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ إِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ
Ghāfiri Adh-Dhanbi Wa Qābili At-Tawbi Shadīdi Al-`Iqābi Dhī Aţ-Ţawli Lā Ilāha Illā Huwa Ilayhi Al-Maşīru
40:3  (The) Forgiver (of) the sin, and (the) Acceptor (of) [the] repentance, severe (in) the punishment, Owner (of) the abundance. (There is) no god except Him; to Him, (is) the final return.
3. Ghaafiriz zambi wa qaabilit tawbi shadeedil ‘iqaabi zit tawli laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa ilaihil maseer
4. مَا يُجَادِلُ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَلَا يَغْرُرْكَ تَقَلُّبُهُمْ فِي الْبِلَادِ
Yujādilu Fī Āyāti Al-Lahi ‘Illā Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Falā Yaghrurka Taqallubuhum  Al-Bilādi
40:4  Not dispute concerning (the) Verses (of) Allah except those who disbelieve, so (let) not deceive you their movement in the cities.
4. Maa yujaadilu feee Aayaatil laahi illal lazeena kafaroo falaa yaghrurka taqallubuhum fil bilaad
5. كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَالْأَحْزَابُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ وَهَمَّتْ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ بِرَسُولِهِمْ لِيَأْخُذُوهُ ۖ وَجَادَلُوا بِالْبَاطِلِ لِيُدْحِضُوا بِهِ الْحَقَّ فَأَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ
Kadhdhabat Qablahum Qawmu Nūĥin Wa Al-‘Aĥzābu Min Ba`dihim Wa Hammat Kullu Ummatin Birasūlihim Liya’khudhūhu Wa Jādalū Bil-Bāţili Liyudĥiđū Bihi Al-Ĥaqqa Fa’akhadhtuhum Fakayfa Kāna `Iqābi
40:5  Denied before them (the) people (of) Nuh and the factions from after them, and plotted every nation against their Messenger, to seize him, and they disputed by falsehood to refute thereby the truth. So I seized them. Then how was My penalty?
5. Kazzabat qablahum qawmu Noohinw wal Ahzaabu min ba’dihim wa hammat kullu ummatin bi Rasoolihim li ya’khuzoohu wa jaadaloo bilbaatili li yud hidoo bihil haqqa fa akhaztuhum fa kaifa kaana ‘iqaab
6. وَكَذَٰلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ
Wa Kadhalika Ĥaqqat Kalimatu Rabbika `Alá Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Annahum Aşĥābu An-Nāri
40:6  And thus has been justified (the) Word (of) your Lord against those who disbelieved that they (are) companions (of) the Fire.
6. Wa kazaalika haqqat Kalimatu Rabbika ‘alal lazeena kafarooo annahum Ashaabun Naar
7. الَّذِينَ يَحْمِلُونَ الْعَرْشَ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ رَحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا فَاغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ
Al-Ladhīna Yaĥmilūna Al-`Arsha Wa Man Ĥawlahu Yusabbiĥūna Biĥamdi Rabbihim Wa Yu’uminūna Bihi Wa Yastaghfirūna Lilladhīna Āmanū Rabbanā Wasi`ta Kulla Shay’in Raĥmatan Wa `Ilmāan Fāghfir Lilladhīna Tābū Wa Attaba`ū Sabīlaka Wa Qihim `Adhāba Al-Jaĥīmi
40:7  Those who bear the Throne and who (are) around it glorify (the) praises (of) their Lord and believe in Him and ask forgiveness for those who believe, “Our Lord! You encompass all things (by Your) Mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your Way and save them (the) punishment (of) the Hellfire.
7. Allazeena yahmiloonal ‘Arsha wa man hawlahoo yusabbihoona bihamdi Rabbihim wa yu’minoona bihee wa yastaghfiroona lillazeena aamanoo Rabbanaa wasi’ta kulla shai’ir rahmatanw wa ‘ilman faghfir lillazeena taaboo wattaba’oo sabeelaka wa qihim ‘azaabal Jaheem
8. رَبَّنَا وَأَدْخِلْهُمْ جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ الَّتِي وَعَدْتَهُمْ وَمَنْ صَلَحَ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
Rabbanā Wa ‘Adkhilhum Jannāti `Adnin Allatī Wa`adtahum Wa Man Şalaĥa Min ‘Ābā’ihim Wa ‘Azwājihim Wa DhurrīyātihimInnaka Anta Al-`Azīzu Al-Ĥakīmu
40:8  Our Lord! And admit them (to) Gardens (of) Eden which You have promised them and whoever (was) righteous among their fathers and their spouses and their offspring. Indeed You, You (are) the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
8. Rabbanaa wa adkhilhum Jannaati ‘adninil latee wa’attahum wa man salaha min aabaaa’ihim wa azwaajihim wa zurriyyaatihim; innaka Antal ‘Azeezul Hakeem
9. وَقِهِمُ السَّيِّئَاتِ ۚ وَمَنْ تَقِ السَّيِّئَاتِ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَقَدْ رَحِمْتَهُ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
Wa Qihimu As-Sayyi’āti Wa Man Taqī As-Sayyi’āti Yawma’idhin Faqad Raĥimtahu Wa Dhalika Huwa Al-Fawzu Al-`Ažīmu
40:9  And protect them (from) the evils. And whoever you protect (from) the evils that Day, then verily You bestowed Mercy on him. And that [it] (is) the success, the great.”
9. Wa qihimus saiyi-aat; wa man taqis saiyi-aati Yawma’izin faqad rahimtah; wa zaalika huwal fawzul ‘azeem (section 1)
10. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُنَادَوْنَ لَمَقْتُ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ مَقْتِكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ إِذْ تُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى الْإِيمَانِ فَتَكْفُرُونَ
Inna Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yunādawna Lamaqtu Al-Lahi ‘Akbaru Min Maqtikum Anfusakum Idh Tud`awna Ilá Al-‘Īmāni Fatakfurūna
40:10  Indeed, those who disbelieved will be cried out to them, “Certainly hatred Allah (was) greater than your hatred (of) yourselves when you were called to the faith, and you disbelieved
10. Innal lazeena kafaroo yunaadawna lamaqtul laahi akbaru mim maqtikum anfusakum iz tud’awna ilal eemaani fatakfuroon
11. قَالُوا رَبَّنَا أَمَتَّنَا اثْنَتَيْنِ وَأَحْيَيْتَنَا اثْنَتَيْنِ فَاعْتَرَفْنَا بِذُنُوبِنَا فَهَلْ إِلَىٰ خُرُوجٍ مِنْ سَبِيلٍ
Qālū Rabbanā Amattanā Athnatayni Wa ‘Aĥyaytanā Athnatayni Fā`tarafnā Bidhunūbinā Fahal Ilá Khurūjin Min Sabīlin
40:11  They (will) say, “Our Lord! You gave us death twice and You gave us life twice, and we confess our sins. So is (there) to get out any way?”
11. Qaaloo Rabbanaaa amat  tanasnataini wa ahyaitanas nataini fa’tarafnaa bizunoo binaa fahal ilaa khuroojim min sabeel
12. ذَٰلِكُمْ بِأَنَّهُ إِذَا دُعِيَ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ كَفَرْتُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ يُشْرَكْ بِهِ تُؤْمِنُوا ۚ فَالْحُكْمُ لِلَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْكَبِيرِ
Dhālikum Bi’annahu ‘Idhā Du`iya Al-Lahu Waĥdahu Kafartum Wa ‘In Yushrak Bihi Tu’uminū Fālĥukmu Lillahi Al-`Alīyi Al-Kabīri
40:12  “That (is) because, when was invoked Allah Alone you disbelieved; but if (others) were associated with Him, you believed. So the judgment (is) with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great.”
12. Zaalikum bi annahooo izaa du’iyal laahu wahdahoo kafartum wa iny yushrak bihee tu’minoo; falhukmu lillaahil ‘Aliyyil Kabeer
13. هُوَ الَّذِي يُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِهِ وَيُنَزِّلُ لَكُمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ رِزْقًا ۚ وَمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ إِلَّا مَنْ يُنِيبُ
Huwa Al-Ladhī Yurīkum Āyātihi Wa Yunazzilu Lakum Mina As-Samā’i Rizqāan Wa Mā Yatadhakkaru Illā Man Yunību
40:13  He (is) the One Who shows you His Signs and sends down for you from the sky provision. But (does) not take heed except (one) who turns.
13. Huwal lazee yureekum Aayaatihee wa yunazzilu lakum minas samaaa’i rizqaa; wa maa yatazakkaru illaa mai yuneeb
14. فَادْعُوا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ
Fād`ū Al-Laha Mukhlişīna Lahu Ad-Dīna Wa Law Kariha Al-Kāfirūna
40:14  So invoke Allah, (being) sincere to Him (in) the religion, even though dislike (it) the disbelievers.
14. Fad’ul laaha mukhliseena lahud deena wa law karihal kaafiroon
15. رَفِيعُ الدَّرَجَاتِ ذُو الْعَرْشِ يُلْقِي الرُّوحَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ عَلَىٰ مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ لِيُنْذِرَ يَوْمَ التَّلَاقِ
Rafī`u Ad-Darajāti Dhū Al-`Arshi Yulqī Ar-Rūĥa Min Amrihi `Alá Man Yashā’u Min `Ibādihi Liyundhira Yawma At-Talāqi
40:15  Possessor of the Highest Ranks, Owner (of) the Throne; He places the inspiration of His Command upon whom He wills of His slaves, to warn (of the) Day (of) the Meeting.
15. Rafee’ud darajaati zul ‘Arshi yulqir rooha min amrihee ‘alaa mai yashaaa’u min ‘ibaadihee liyunzira yawmat talaaq
16. يَوْمَ هُمْ بَارِزُونَ ۖ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ شَيْءٌ ۚ لِمَنِ الْمُلْكُ الْيَوْمَ ۖ لِلَّهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْقَهَّارِ
Yawma Hum Bārizūna Yakhfá `Alá Al-Lahi Minhum Shay’un Limani Al-Mulku Al-Yawma Lillahi Al-Wāĥidi Al-Qahhāri
40:16  (The) Day they come forth, not is hidden from Allah about them anything. For whom (is) the Dominion this Day? For Allah the One, the Irresistible.
16. Yawma hum baarizoona laa yakhfaa ‘alal laahi minhum shai; limanil mulkul Yawma lillaahil Waahidil Qahaar
17. الْيَوْمَ تُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ ۚ لَا ظُلْمَ الْيَوْمَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ
Al-Yawma Tujzá Kullu Nafsin Bimā Kasabat Žulma Al-Yawma Inna Al-Laha Sarī`u Al-Ĥisābi
40:17  This Day will be recompensed every soul for what it earned. No injustice today! Indeed, Allah (is) Swift (in) Account.
17. Al-Yawma tujzaa kullu nafsim bimaa kasabat; laa zulmal Yawm; innal laaha saree’ul hisaab
18. وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْآزِفَةِ إِذِ الْقُلُوبُ لَدَى الْحَنَاجِرِ كَاظِمِينَ ۚ مَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ يُطَاعُ
Wa ‘Andhirhum Yawma Al-‘Āzifati Idhi Al-Qulūbu Ladá Al-Ĥanājiri Kāžimīna Lilžžālimīna Min Ĥamīmin Wa Lā Shafī`in Yuţā`u
40:18  And warn them (of the) Day the Approaching, when the hearts (are) at the throats, choked. Not for the wrongdoers any intimate friend and no intercessor (who) is obeyed.
18. Wa anzirhum yawmal aazifati izil quloobu ladal hanaajiri kaazimeen; maa lizzaalimeena min hameeminw wa laa shafee’iny-yutaa’
19. يَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ الْأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ
Ya`lamu Khā’inata Al-‘A`yuni Wa Mā Tukhfī Aş-Şudūru
40:19  He knows (the) stealthy glance and what conceal the breasts.
19. Ya’lamu khaaa’inatal a’yuni wa maa tukhfis sudoor
20. وَاللَّهُ يَقْضِي بِالْحَقِّ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ لَا يَقْضُونَ بِشَيْءٍ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
Wa Allāhu Yaqđī Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Al-Ladhīna Yad`ūna Min Dūnihi Yaqđūna Bishay’inInna Al-Laha Huwa As-Samī`u Al-Başīru
40:20  And Allah judges in truth, while those (whom) they invoke from besides Him not they judge with anything. Indeed, Allah He (is) the All-Hearer, the All-Seer.
20. Wallaahu yaqdee bilhaqq, wallazeena yad’oona min doonihee laa yaqdoona bishai’; innal laaha Huwas Samee’ul Baseer (section 2)
21. أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوا هُمْ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ وَاقٍ
‘Awa Lam Yasīrū Fī Al-‘Arđi Fayanžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Ladhīna Kānū Min Qablihim Kānū Hum Ashadda Minhum Qūwatan Wa ‘Āthārāan Fī Al-‘Arđi Fa’akhadhahumu Al-Lahu Bidhunūbihim Wa Mā Kāna Lahum Mini Al-Lahi Min Wāqin
40:21  Do not they travel in the earth and see how was (the) end (of) those who were before them? from They were [they] superior to them (in) strength and (in) impressions in the land, but seized them Allah for their sins, and not was for them against Allah any protector.
21. Awalam yaseeroo fil ardi fa yanzuroo kaifa kaana ‘aaqibatul lazeena kaanoo min qablihim; kaanoo hum ashadda minhum quwwatanw wa aasaaran fil ardi fa akhazahumul laahu bizunoobihim wa maa kaana lahum minal laahi minw waaq
22. ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانَتْ تَأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَكَفَرُوا فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ قَوِيٌّ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ
DhālikaBi’annahum Kānat Ta’tīhim Rusuluhum Bil-Bayyināti Fakafarū Fa’akhadhahumu Al-Lahu ‘Innahu Qawīyun Shadīdu Al-`Iqābi
40:22  That (was) because [they] used to come to them their Messengers with clear proofs but they disbelieved, So seized them Allah. Indeed, He (is) All-Strong, severe (in) punishment.
22. Zaalika bi annahum kaanat taateehim Rusuluhum bilbaiyinaati fakafaroo fa akhazahumul laah; innahoo qawiyyun shadeedul ‘iqaab
23. وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا وَسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ
Wa Laqad ‘Arsalnā Mūsá Bi’āyātinā Wa Sulţānin Mubīnin
40:23  And certainly, We sent Musa with Our Signs and an authority clear,
23. Wa laqad arsalnaa Moosaa bi Aayaatinaa wa sultaanim mubeen
24. إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَقَارُونَ فَقَالُوا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ
‘Ilá Fir`awna Wa Hāmāna Wa Qārūna Faqālū Sāĥirun Kadhdhābun
40:24  To Firaun, Haman and Qarun, but they said, “A magician, a liar.”
24. Ilaa Fir’awna wa Haamaana wa Qaaroona faqaaloo saahirun kazzaab
25. فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ مِنْ عِنْدِنَا قَالُوا اقْتُلُوا أَبْنَاءَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ وَاسْتَحْيُوا نِسَاءَهُمْ ۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ الْكَافِرِينَ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ
Falammā Jā’ahum Bil-Ĥaqqi Min `Indinā Qālū Aqtulū Abnā’a Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Ma`ahu Wa Astaĥyū Nisā’ahum Wa Mā Kaydu Al-Kāfirīna Illā Đalālin
40:25  Then when he brought to them the truth from Us they said,Kill (the) sons (of) those who believe with him, and let live their women.And not (is the) plot (of) the disbelievers but in error.
25. Falamma jaaa’ahum bil haqqi min ‘indinaa qaaluq tulooo abnaaa’al lazeena aamanoo ma’ahoo wastahyoo nisaaa’ahum; wa maa kaidul kaafireena illaa fee dalaal
26. وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ذَرُونِي أَقْتُلْ مُوسَىٰ وَلْيَدْعُ رَبَّهُ ۖ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يُبَدِّلَ دِينَكُمْ أَوْ أَنْ يُظْهِرَ فِي الْأَرْضِ الْفَسَادَ
Wa Qāla Fir`awnu Dharūnī Aqtul Mūsá Wa Līad`u Rabbahu Innī Akhāfu An Yubaddila Dīnakum Aw An Yužhira Fī Al-‘Arđi Al-Fasāda
40:26  And said Firaun, “Leave me (so that) I kill Musa and let him call his Lord. Indeed, I [I] fear that he will change your religion or that he may cause to appear in the land the corruption.”
26. Wa qaala Fir’awnu zarooneee aqtul Moosaa walyad’u Rabbahoo inneee akhaafu ai yubaddila deenakum aw ai yuzhira fil ardil fasaad
27. وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ إِنِّي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ مُتَكَبِّرٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ
Wa Qāla Mūsá Innī `Udhtu Birabbī Wa Rabbikum Min Kulli Mutakabbirin  Yu’uminu Biyawmi Al-Ĥisābi
40:27  And said Musa, “Indeed, I [I] seek refuge in my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one not who believes (in the) Day (of) the Account.”
27. Wa qaala Moosaaaa innee ‘uztu bi Rabbee wa Rabbikum min kulli mutakabbiril laayu’minu bi Yawmil Hisaab (section 3)
28. وَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مُؤْمِنٌ مِنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَكْتُمُ إِيمَانَهُ أَتَقْتُلُونَ رَجُلًا أَنْ يَقُولَ رَبِّيَ اللَّهُ وَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ يَكُ كَاذِبًا فَعَلَيْهِ كَذِبُهُ ۖ وَإِنْ يَكُ صَادِقًا يُصِبْكُمْ بَعْضُ الَّذِي يَعِدُكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ كَذَّابٌ
Wa Qāla Rajulun Mu’uminun Min Āli Fir`awna Yaktumu Īmānahu Ataqtulūna Rajulāan An Yaqūla Rabbiya Al-Lahu Wa Qad Jā’akum Bil-Bayyināti Min Rabbikum Wa ‘In Yaku Kādhibāan Fa`alayhi Kadhibuhu Wa ‘In Yaku Şādiqāan Yuşibkum Ba`đu Al-Ladhī Ya`idukumInna Al-Laha Yahdī Man Huwa Musrifun Kadhdhābun
40:28  And said a man, believing, from (the) family (of) Firaun who conceal(ed) his faith,Will you kill a man because he says,My Lord (is) Allah,” and indeed he has brought you clear proofs from your Lord? And if he is a liar, then upon him (is) his lie; and if he is truthful, (there) will strike you some (of) (that) which he threatens you. Indeed, Allah (does) not guide (one) who [he] (is) a transgressor, a liar.
28. Wa qaala rajulum mu’minummin Aali Fir’awna yaktumu eemaanahooo ataqtuloona rajulan ai yaqoola Rabbi yal laahu wa qad jaaa’akum bil baiyinaati mir Rabbikum wa iny yaku kaaziban fa’alaihi kazibuh wa iny yaku saadiqany yasibkum ba’dul lazee ya’idukum innal laaha laa yahdee man huwa musrifun kazzaab
29. يَا قَوْمِ لَكُمُ الْمُلْكُ الْيَوْمَ ظَاهِرِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَنْ يَنْصُرُنَا مِنْ بَأْسِ اللَّهِ إِنْ جَاءَنَا ۚ قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ مَا أُرِيكُمْ إِلَّا مَا أَرَىٰ وَمَا أَهْدِيكُمْ إِلَّا سَبِيلَ الرَّشَادِ
Yā Qawmi Lakumu Al-Mulku Al-Yawma Žāhirīna Fī Al-‘Arđi Faman Yanşurunā Min Ba’si Al-Lahi In Jā’anā Qāla Fir`awnu Mā Urīkum Illā Mā Ará Wa Mā ‘Ahdīkum Illā Sabīla Ar-Rashādi
40:29  O my people! For you (is) the kingdom today, dominant in the land, but who will help us from (the) punishment (of) Allah, if it came to us.Said Firaun, “Not I show you except what I see and not I guide you except (to the) path the right.
29. Yaa qawmi lakumul mulkul yawma zaahireena fil ardi famai yansurunaa mim baasil laahi in jaaa’anaa; qaala Fir’awnu maaa ureekum illaa maaa araa wa maaa ahdeekum illaa sabeelar Rashaad
30. وَقَالَ الَّذِي آمَنَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِثْلَ يَوْمِ الْأَحْزَابِ
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhī ‘Āmana Yā QawmiInnī Akhāfu `Alaykum Mithla Yawmi Al-‘Aĥzābi
40:30  And said (he) who believed, “O my people! Indeed I, [I] fear for you like (the) day (of) the companies,
30. Wa qaalal lazee aamana yaa qawmi inneee akhaafu ‘alaikum misla yawmil Ahzaab
31. مِثْلَ دَأْبِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَالَّذِينَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ۚ وَمَا اللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًا لِلْعِبَادِ
Mithla Da’bi Qawmi Nūĥin Wa `Ādin Wa Thamūda Wa Al-Ladhīna Min Ba`dihim Wa Mā Al-Lahu Yurīdu Žulmāan Lil`ibādi
40:31  Like (the) plight (of the) people (of) Nuh and Aad and Thamud and those from after them. And (does) not Allah want injustice for (His) slaves.
31. Misla daabi qawmi Noohinw wa ‘aadinw wa Samooda wallazeena mim ba’dihim; wa mal laahu yureedu zulmal lil’ibaad
32. وَيَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَوْمَ التَّنَادِ
Wa YāqawmiInnī Akhāfu `Alaykum Yawma At-Tanādi
40:32  And O my people! Indeed, I [I] fear for you (the) Day (of) Calling,
32. Wa yaa qawmi inneee akhaafu ‘alaikum yawmat tanaad
33. يَوْمَ تُوَلُّونَ مُدْبِرِينَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ عَاصِمٍ ۗ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ هَادٍ
Yawma Tuwallūna Mudbirīna Lakum Mina Al-Lahi Min `Āşimin Wa Man Yuđlili Al-Lahu Famā Lahu Min Hādin
40:33  A Day you will turn back fleeing; not for you from Allah any protector. And whoever lets go astray Allah, then not for him any guide.
33. Yawma tuwalloona mud bireena maa lakum minal laahi min ‘aasim; wa mai yudlilil laahu famaa lahoo min haad
34. وَلَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ يُوسُفُ مِنْ قَبْلُ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا زِلْتُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِمَّا جَاءَكُمْ بِهِ ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا هَلَكَ قُلْتُمْ لَنْ يَبْعَثَ اللَّهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ رَسُولًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ مُرْتَابٌ
Wa Laqad Jā’akum Yūsufu Min Qablu Bil-Bayyināti Famā Ziltum Fī Shakkin Mimmā Jā’akum Bihi Ĥattá Idhā Halaka Qultum Lan Yab`atha Al-Lahu Min Ba`dihi Rasūlāan Kadhālika Yuđillu Al-Lahu Man Huwa Musrifun Murtābun
40:34  And indeed, came to you Yusuf from before with clear proofs, but not you ceased in doubt about what he brought to you [with it], until when he died, you said,Never will raise Allah from after him a Messenger.Thus, lets go astray Allah who [he] (is) a transgressor, a doubter.
34. Wa laqad jaaa’akum Yoosufu min qablu bil baiyinaati famaa ziltum fee shakkim mimmaa jaaa’akum bihee hattaaa izaa halaka qultum lai yab asal laahu mim ba’dihee Rasoolaa; kazaalika yudillul laahu man huwa Musrifum murtaab
35. الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۖ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَعِنْدَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ قَلْبِ مُتَكَبِّرٍ جَبَّارٍ
Al-Ladhīna Yujādilūna Fī Āyāti Al-Lahi Bighayri Sulţānin Atāhum Kabura Maqtāan `Inda Al-Lahi Wa `Inda Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Kadhālika Yaţba`u Al-Lahu `Alá Kulli Qalbi Mutakabbirin Jabbārin
40:35  Those who dispute concerning (the) Signs (of) Allah without any authority (having) come to them, (it) is greatly hateful near Allah and near those who believe. Thus sets a seal Allah over every heart (of) an arrogant tyrant.”
35. Allazeena yujaadiloona feee Aaayaatil laahi bighairi sultaanin ataahum kabura maqtan ‘indal laahi wa ‘indal lazeena aamanoo; kazaalika yatbahul laahu ‘alaa kulli qalbi mutakabbirin jabbaar
36. وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَا هَامَانُ ابْنِ لِي صَرْحًا لَعَلِّي أَبْلُغُ الْأَسْبَابَ
Wa Qāla Fir`awnu Yā Hāmānu Abni Şarĥāan La`allī Ablughu Al-‘Asbāba
40:36  And said Firaun, “O Haman! Construct for me a tower that I may reach the ways
36. Wa qaala Fir’awnu yaa Haamaanub-ni lee sarhal la’alleee ablughul asbaab
37. أَسْبَابَ السَّمَاوَاتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلَىٰ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُ كَاذِبًا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرْعَوْنَ سُوءُ عَمَلِهِ وَصُدَّ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ ۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ فِرْعَوْنَ إِلَّا فِي تَبَابٍ
Asbāba As-Samāwāti Fa’aţţali`aIlá Ilahi Mūsá Wa ‘Innī La’ažunnuhu Kādhibāan Wa Kadhalika Zuyyina Lifir`awna Sū’u `Amalihi Wa Şudda `Ani As-Sabīli Wa Mā Kaydu Fir`awnaIllā Tabābin
40:37  (The) ways (to) the heavens so I may look at (the) God (of) Musa; and indeed, I [I] surely think him (to be) a liar.And thus was made fair-seeming to Firaun (the) evil (of) his deed, and he was averted from the way. And not (was the) plot (of) Firaun except in ruin.
37. Asbaabas samaawaati faattali’a ilaaa ilaahi Moosaa wa innee la azunnuhoo kaazibaa; wa kazaalika zuyyina li-Fir’awna sooo’u ‘amalihee wa sudda ‘anis sabeel; wa maa kaidu Fir’awna illaa fee tabaab (section 4)
38. وَقَالَ الَّذِي آمَنَ يَا قَوْمِ اتَّبِعُونِ أَهْدِكُمْ سَبِيلَ الرَّشَادِ
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhī ‘Āmana Yā Qawmi Attabi`ūnī ‘Ahdikum Sabīla Ar-Rashādi
40:38  And said the one who believed, “O my people! Follow me; I will guide you (to the) way, the right.
38. Wa qaalal lazeee aamana yaa qawmit tabi’ooni ahdikum sabeelar rashaad
39. يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّمَا هَٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا مَتَاعٌ وَإِنَّ الْآخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ الْقَرَارِ
Yā QawmiInnamā Hadhihi Al-Ĥayā Atu Ad-Dunyā Matā`un Wa ‘Inna Al-‘Ākhirata Hiya Dāru Al-Qarāri
40:39  O my people! Only this, the life (of) the world, (is) enjoyment, and indeed, the Hereafter it (is the) home, (of) settlement.
39. Yaa qawmi innamaa haazihil hayaatud dunyaa mataa’unw wa innal Aakhirata hiya daarul qaraar
40. مَنْ عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةً فَلَا يُجْزَىٰ إِلَّا مِثْلَهَا ۖ وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِنْ ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُولَٰئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ يُرْزَقُونَ فِيهَا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
Man `Amila Sayyi’atan Falā Yujzá Illā Mithlahā Wa Man `Amila Şāliĥāan Min Dhakarin Aw Unthá Wa Huwa Mu’uminun Fa’ūlā’ika Yadkhulūna Al-Jannata Yurzaqūna Fīhā Bighayri Ĥisābin
40:40  Whoever does an evil then not he will be recompensed but (the) like thereof; and whoever does righteous (deeds), of male or female, while he (is) a believer, then those will enter Paradise, they will be given provision in it without account.
40. Man ‘amila saiyi’atan falaa yujzaaa illaa mislahaa wa man ‘amila saaliham min zakarin aw unsaa wa huwa mu’minun fa ulaaa’ika yadkhuloonal Jannata yurzaqoona feehaa bighairi hisaab
41. وَيَا قَوْمِ مَا لِي أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَى النَّجَاةِ وَتَدْعُونَنِي إِلَى النَّارِ
Wa Yāqawmi Lī Ad`ūkumIlá An-Najāati Wa Tad`ūnanī ‘Ilá An-Nāri
40:41  And O my people! What (is) for me (that) I call you to the salvation while you call me to the Fire!
41. Wa yaa qawmi maa leee ad’ookum ilan najaati wa tad’oonaneee ilan Naar
42. تَدْعُونَنِي لِأَكْفُرَ بِاللَّهِ وَأُشْرِكَ بِهِ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِهِ عِلْمٌ وَأَنَا أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَى الْعَزِيزِ الْغَفَّارِ
Tad`ūnanī Li’kfura Bil-Lahi Wa ‘Ushrika Bihi Mā Laysa Lī Bihi `Ilmun Wa ‘Anā ‘Ad`ūkum ‘Ilá Al-`Azīzi Al-Ghaffāri
40:42  You call me that I disbelieve in Allah and (to) associate with Him what not for me of it any knowledge, and I call you to the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving.
42. Tad’oonanee li-akfura billaahi wa ushrika bihee maa laisa lee bihee ‘ilmunw wa ana ad’ookum ilal’Azeezil Ghaffaar
43. لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّمَا تَدْعُونَنِي إِلَيْهِ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَعْوَةٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَلَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ مَرَدَّنَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَنَّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ هُمْ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ
Lā Jarama ‘Annamā Tad`ūnanī ‘Ilayhi Laysa Lahu Da`watun Fī Ad-Dunyā Wa Lā Fī Al-‘Ākhirati Wa ‘Anna Maraddanā ‘Ilá Al-Lahi Wa ‘Anna Al-Musrifīna Hum ‘Aşĥābu An-Nāri
40:43  No doubt that what you call me to it not for it a claim in the world and not in the Hereafter; and that our return (is) to Allah, and that the transgressors – they (will be the) companions (of) the Fire.
43. Laa jarama annamaa tad’oonanee ilaihi laisa lahoo da’watun fid dunyaa wa laa fil Aakhirati wa anna maraddanaaa ilal laahi wa annal musrifeenahum Ashaabun Naar
44. فَسَتَذْكُرُونَ مَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ ۚ وَأُفَوِّضُ أَمْرِي إِلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَصِيرٌ بِالْعِبَادِ
Fasatadhkurūna Mā ‘Aqūlu Lakum Wa ‘Ufawwiđu ‘Amrī ‘Ilá Al-Lahi ‘Inna Al-Laha Başīrun Bil-`Ibādi
40:44  And you will remember what I say to you, and I entrust my affair to Allah. Indeed, Allah (is) All-Seer of (His) slaves.”
44. Fasatazkuroona maaa aqoolu lakum; wa ufawwidu amreee ilal laah; innallaaha baseerum bil’ibaad
45. فَوَقَاهُ اللَّهُ سَيِّئَاتِ مَا مَكَرُوا ۖ وَحَاقَ بِآلِ فِرْعَوْنَ سُوءُ الْعَذَابِ
Fawaqāhu Al-Lahu Sayyi’āti Mā Makarū Wa Ĥāqa Bi’āli Fir`awna Sū’u Al-`Adhābi
40:45  So protected him Allah (from the) evils that they plotted, and enveloped (the) people (of) Firaun (the) worst punishment,
45. Fa waqaahul laahu saiyiaati maa makaroo wa haaqa bi Aali-Fir’awna sooo’ul ‘azaab
46. النَّارُ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا غُدُوًّا وَعَشِيًّا ۖ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ أَدْخِلُوا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَشَدَّ الْعَذَابِ
An-Nāru Yu`rađūna `Alayhā Ghudūwāan Wa `Ashīyāan Wa Yawma Taqūmu As-Sā`atu ‘Adkhilū ‘Āla Fir`awna ‘Ashadda Al-`Adhābi
40:46  The Fire; they are exposed to it morning and evening. And (the) Day (will be) established the Hour, “Cause to enter (the) people (of) Firaun (in the) severest punishment.”
46. An Naaru yu’radoona ‘alaihaa ghuduwwanw wa ‘ashiyyanw wa Yawma taqoomus Saa’aatu adkhilooo Aala Fir’awna ashaddal ‘azaab
47. وَإِذْ يَتَحَاجُّونَ فِي النَّارِ فَيَقُولُ الضُّعَفَاءُ لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُغْنُونَ عَنَّا نَصِيبًا مِنَ النَّارِ
Wa ‘Idh Yataĥājjūna Fī An-Nāri Fayaqūlu Ađ-Đu`afā’u Lilladhīna Astakbarū ‘Innā Kunnā Lakum Taba`āan Fahal ‘Antum Mughnūna `Annā Naşībāan Mina An-Nāri
40:47  And when they will dispute in the Fire, then will say the weak to those who were arrogant, “Indeed, we [we] were for you followers, so can you avert from us a portion of the Fire?”
47. Wa iz yatahaaajjoona fin Naari fa-yaqoolud du’afaaa’u lillazeenas takbarooo innaa kunnaa lakum taba’an fahal antum mughnoona annaa naseebam minan Naar
48. قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا إِنَّا كُلٌّ فِيهَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ حَكَمَ بَيْنَ الْعِبَادِ
Qāla Al-Ladhīna Astakbarū ‘Innā Kullun Fīhā ‘Inna Al-Laha Qad Ĥakama Bayna Al-`Ibādi
40:48  Will say those who (were) arrogant, “Indeed, we all (are) in it. Indeed, Allah certainly has judged between (His) slaves”
48. Qaalal lazeenas takbarooo innaa kullun feehaaa innal laaha qad hakama baynal’ibaad
49. وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ فِي النَّارِ لِخَزَنَةِ جَهَنَّمَ ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ يُخَفِّفْ عَنَّا يَوْمًا مِنَ الْعَذَابِ
Wa Qāla Al-Ladhīna Fī An-Nāri Likhazanati Jahannama Ad`ū Rabbakum Yukhaffif `Annā Yawmāan Mina Al-`Adhābi
40:49  And will say those in the Fire to (the) keepers (of) Hell, “Call your Lord (to) lighten for us a day of the punishment.”
49. Wa qaalal lazeena fin Naari likhazanati Jahannamad-‘oo Rabbakum yukhaffif ‘annaa yawmam minal ‘azaab
50. قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ تَكُ تَأْتِيكُمْ رُسُلُكُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ۖ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ ۚ قَالُوا فَادْعُوا ۗ وَمَا دُعَاءُ الْكَافِرِينَ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ
Qālū ‘Awa Lam Taku Ta’tīkum Rusulukum Bil-Bayyināti Qālū Balá Qālū Fād`ū Wa Mā Du`ā’u Al-Kāfirīna ‘Illā Fī Đalālin
40:50  They (will) say, “Did not there come to you your Messengers with clear proofs?” They (will) say, “Yes.” They (will) say, “Then call, but not (is the) call (of) the disbelievers except in error.”
50. Qaalooo awalam taku taateekum Rusulukum bilbaiyinaati qaaloo balaa’ qaaloo fad’oo; wa maa du’aaa’ul kaafireena illaa fee dalaal (section 5)
51. إِنَّا لَنَنْصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْأَشْهَادُ
‘Innā Lananşuru Rusulanā Wa Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa Yawma Yaqūmu Al-‘Ash/hādu
40:51  Indeed We, We will surely help Our Messengers and those who believe in the life (of) the world and (on the) Day (when) will stand the witnesses,
51. Innaa lanansuru Rusulanaa wallazeena aamanoo fil hayaatid dunyaa wa Yawma yaqoomul ashhaad
52. يَوْمَ لَا يَنْفَعُ الظَّالِمِينَ مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ ۖ وَلَهُمُ اللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوءُ الدَّارِ
Yawma Lā Yanfa`u Až-Žālimīna Ma`dhiratuhum Wa Lahumu Al-La`natu Wa Lahum Sū’u Ad-Dāri
40:52  (The) Day not will benefit the wrongdoers their excuse, and for them (is) the curse and for them (is the) worst home.
52. Yawma laa yanfa’uz zaalimeena ma’ziratuhum wa lahumul la’natu wa lahum soooud daar
53. وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْهُدَىٰ وَأَوْرَثْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْكِتَابَ
Wa Laqad ‘Ātaynā Mūsá Al-Hudá Wa ‘Awrathnā Banī ‘Isrā’īla Al-Kitāba
40:53  And certainly, We gave Musa the guidance and We caused to inherit (the) Children (of) Israel the Book,
53. Wa laqad aatainaa Moosal hudaa wa awrasnaa Baneee Israaa ‘eelal Kitaab
54. هُدًى وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ
Hudáan Wa Dhikrá Li’wlī Al-‘Albābi
40:54  A guide and a reminder for those (of) understanding.
54. Hudanw wa zikraa li ulil albaab
55. فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْبِكَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِبْكَارِ
Fāşbir ‘Inna Wa`da Al-Lahi Ĥaqqun Wa Astaghfir Lidhanbika Wa Sabbiĥ Biĥamdi Rabbika Bil-`Ashīyi Wa Al-‘Ibkāri
40:55  So be patient; indeed, (the) Promise (of) Allah (is) true. And ask forgiveness for your sin and glorify (the) praise (of) your Lord in the evening and the morning.
55. Fasbir inna wa’dal laahi haqqunw wastaghfir lizambika wa sabbih bihamdi Rabbika bil’ashiyyi wal ibkaar
56. إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۙ إِنْ فِي صُدُورِهِمْ إِلَّا كِبْرٌ مَا هُمْ بِبَالِغِيهِ ۚ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Yujādilūna Fī ‘Āyāti Al-Lahi Bighayri Sulţānin ‘Atāhum ‘In Fī Şudūrihim ‘Illā Kibrun Mā Hum Bibālighīhi Fāsta`idh Bil-Lahi ‘Innahu Huwa As-Samī`u Al-Başīru
40:56  Indeed, those who dispute concerning (the) Signs (of) Allah without any authority (which) came to them, not (is) in their breasts but greatness, not they (can) reach it. So seek refuge in Allah. Indeed He, He (is) the All-Hearer the All-Seer.
56. Innal lazeena yujaadi loona feee Aayaatil laahi bighairi sultaanin ataahum in fee sudoorihim illaa kibrum maa hum bibaaligheeh; fasta’iz billaahi innahoo Huwas Samee’ul Baseer
57. لَخَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ خَلْقِ النَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Lakhalqu As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi ‘Akbaru Min Khalqi An-Nāsi Wa Lakinna ‘Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Ya`lamūna
40:57  Surely, (the) creation (of) the heavens and the earth (is) greater than (the) creation (of) the mankind, but most (of) the people (do) not know.
57. Lakhalqus samaawaati wal ardi akbaru min khalqin naasi wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa ya’lamoon
58. وَمَا يَسْتَوِي الْأَعْمَىٰ وَالْبَصِيرُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَلَا الْمُسِيءُ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ
Wa Mā Yastawī Al-‘A`má Wa Al-Başīru Wa Al-Ladhīna ‘Āmanū Wa `Amilū Aş-Şāliĥāti Wa Lā Al-Musī’u Qalīlāan Mā Tatadhakkarūna
40:58  And not (are) equal the blind and the seeing and those who believe and do righteous deeds and not the evildoer. Little (is) what you take heed.
58. Wa maa yastawil a’maa walbaseeru wallazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati wa lal museee’; qaleelam maa tatazakkaroon
59. إِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
‘Inna As-Sā`ata La’ātiyatun Lā Rayba Fīhā Wa Lakinna ‘Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Yu’uminūna
40:59  Indeed, the Hour (is) surely coming, no doubt in it, but most (of) the people (do) not believe.
59. Innas Saa’ata la aatiyatul laa raiba feehaa wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa yu’minoon
60. وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ
Wa Qāla Rabbukum Ad`ūnī ‘Astajib Lakum ‘Inna Al-Ladhīna Yastakbirūna `An `Ibādatī Sayadkhulūna Jahannama Dākhirīna
40:60  And said your Lord, “Call upon Me; I will respond to you. Indeed, those who (are) proud to worship Me will enter Hell (in) humiliation.”
60. Wa qaala Rabbukumud ‘ooneee astajib lakum; innal lazeena yastakbiroona an ‘ibaadatee sa yadkhuloona jahannama daakhireen (Section 6)
61. اللَّهُ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُوا فِيهِ وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ
Al-Lahu Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakumu Al-Layla Litaskunū Fīhi Wa An-Nahāra Mubşirāan ‘Inna Al-Laha Ladhū Fađlin `Alá An-Nāsi Wa Lakinna ‘Akthara An-Nāsi Lā Yashkurūna
40:61  Allah (is) the One Who made for you the night that you may rest in it, and the day giving visibility. Indeed, Allah (is) Full (of) Bounty to the people, but most (of) the people (do) not give thanks.
61. Allaahul lazee ja’ala lakumul laila littaskunoo feehi wannahaara mubsiraa; innal laaha lazoo fadlin ‘alan naasi wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa yashkuroon
62. ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ
Dhalikumu Al-Lahu Rabbukum Khāliqu Kulli Shay’in Lā ‘Ilāha ‘Illā Huwa Fa’annā Tu’ufakūna
40:62  That (is) Allah your Lord, (the) Creator (of) all things, (there is) no god except Him. So how are you deluded?
62. Zaalikumul laahu Rabbukum khaaliqu kulli shai’in; laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa fa annaa tu’fakoon
63. كَذَٰلِكَ يُؤْفَكُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ
Kadhālika Yu’ufaku Al-Ladhīna Kānū Bi’āyāti Al-Lahi Yajĥadūna
40:63  Thus were deluded those who were – (the) Signs (of) Allah, rejecting.
63. Kazaalika yu’fakul lazeena kaanoo bi Aayaatil laahi yajhadoon
64. اللَّهُ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ قَرَارًا وَالسَّمَاءَ بِنَاءً وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ وَرَزَقَكُمْ مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ ۖ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Al-Lahu Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakumu Al-‘Arđa Qarārāan Wa As-Samā’a Binā’an Wa Şawwarakum Fa’aĥsana Şuwarakum Wa Razaqakum Mina Aţ-Ţayyibāti Dhalikumu Al-Lahu Rabbukum Fatabāraka Al-Lahu Rabbu Al-`Ālamīna
40:64  Allah (is) the One Who made for you the earth a place of settlement and the sky a canopy and He formed you and perfected your forms, and provided you of the good things. That (is) Allah, your Lord. Then blessed (is) Allah, (the) Lord (of) the worlds.
64. Allaahul lazee ja’ala lakumul arda qaraaranw wassa maaa’a binaaa’anw wa sawwarakum fa ahsana suwarakum wa razaqakum minat taiyibaat; zaalikumul laahu Rabbukum fatabaarakal laahu Rabbul ‘aalameen
65. هُوَ الْحَيُّ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَادْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ ۗ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Huwa Al-Ĥayyu Lā ‘Ilāha ‘Illā Huwa Fād`ūhu Mukhlişīna Lahu Ad-Dīna Al-Ĥamdu Lillahi Rabbi Al-`Ālamīna
40:65  He (is) the Ever-Living; (there is) no god but He, so call Him, (being) sincere to Him (in) the religion. All praise (be) to Allah, (the) Lord (of) the worlds.
65. Huwal Hayyu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa fad’oohu mukh liseena lahud-deen; alhamdu lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen
66. قُلْ إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ لَمَّا جَاءَنِيَ الْبَيِّنَاتُ مِنْ رَبِّي وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Qul ‘Innī Nuhītu ‘An ‘A`buda Al-Ladhīna Tad`ūna Min Dūni Al-Lahi Lammā Jā’aniya Al-Bayyinātu Min Rabbī Wa ‘Umirtu ‘An ‘Uslima Lirabbi Al-`Ālamīna
40:66  Say, “Indeed, I [I] have been forbidden to worship those whom you call from besides Allah when have come to me the clear proofs from my Lord, and I am commanded to submit to (the) Lord (of) the worlds.
66. Qul innee nuheetu an a’budal lazeena tad’oona min doonil laahi lammaa jaaa’a niyal baiyinaatu mir Rabbee wa umirtu an uslima li Rabbil ‘aalameen
67. هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوا أَشُدَّكُمْ ثُمَّ لِتَكُونُوا شُيُوخًا ۚ وَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يُتَوَفَّىٰ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖ وَلِتَبْلُغُوا أَجَلًا مُسَمًّى وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
Huwa Al-Ladhī Khalaqakum Min Turābin Thumma Min Nuţfatin Thumma Min `Alaqatin Thumma Yukhrijukum Ţiflāan Thumma Litablughū ‘Ashuddakum Thumma Litakūnū Shuyūkhāan Wa Minkum Man Yutawaffá Min Qablu Wa Litablughū ‘Ajalāan Musammáan Wa La`allakum Ta`qilūna
40:67  He (is) the One Who created you from dust, then from a semen-drop, then from a clinging substance, then He brings you out (as) a child; then lets you reach your maturity, then lets you become old – and among you (is he) who dies from before – and lets you reach a term specified, and that you may use reason.
67. Huwal lazee khalaqakum min turaabin summa min nutfatin summa min ‘alaqatin summa yukhrijukum tiflan summa litablughooo ashuddakum summa litakoonoo shuyookhaa; wa minkum mai yutawaffaa min qablu wa litablughooo ajalam musam manw-wa la’allakum ta’qiloon
68. هُوَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۖ فَإِذَا قَضَىٰ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
Huwa Al-Ladhī Yuĥyī Wa Yumītu Fa’idhā Qađá ‘Amrāan Fa’innamā Yaqūlu Lahu Kun Fayakūnu
40:68  He (is) the One Who gives life and causes death. And when He decrees a matter, then only He says to it, “Be,” and it is.
68. Huwal lazee yuhyee wa yumeetu fa izaa qadaaa amran fa innamaa yaqoolu lahoo kun fa yakoon (section 7)
69. أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ أَنَّىٰ يُصْرَفُونَ
‘Alam Tará ‘Ilá Al-Ladhīna Yujādilūna Fī ‘Āyāti Al-Lahi ‘Anná Yuşrafūna
40:69  Do not you see [to] those who dispute concerning (the) Signs (of) Allah? How they are turned away?
69. Alam tara ilal lazeena yujaadiloona feee Aayaatil laahi annaa yusrafoon
70. الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِالْكِتَابِ وَبِمَا أَرْسَلْنَا بِهِ رُسُلَنَا ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
Al-Ladhīna Kadhdhabū Bil-Kitābi Wa Bimā ‘Arsalnā Bihi Rusulanā Fasawfa Ya`lamūna
40:70  Those who deny the Book and with what We sent with it Our Messengers; but soon they will know.
70. Allazeena kazzaboo bil Kitaabi wa bimaa arsalnaa bihee Rusulanaa fasawfa ya’lamoon
71. إِذِ الْأَغْلَالُ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ وَالسَّلَاسِلُ يُسْحَبُونَ
‘Idhi Al-‘Aghlālu Fī ‘A`nāqihim Wa As-Salāsilu Yusĥabūna
40:71  When the iron collars (will be) around their necks and the chains, they will be dragged,
71. Izil aghlaalu feee a’naaqi-him wassalaasilu yushaboon
72. فِي الْحَمِيمِ ثُمَّ فِي النَّارِ يُسْجَرُونَ
Fī Al-Ĥamīmi Thumma Fī An-Nāri Yusjarūna
40:72  In the boiling water; then in the Fire they will be burned.
72. Fil hameemi summa fin Naari Yasjaroon
73. ثُمَّ قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تُشْرِكُونَ
Thumma Qīla Lahum ‘Ayna Mā Kuntum Tushrikūna
40:73  Then it will be said to them, “Where (is) that which you used to associate
73. Summaa qeela lahum ayna maa kuntum tushrikoon
74. مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ قَالُوا ضَلُّوا عَنَّا بَلْ لَمْ نَكُنْ نَدْعُو مِنْ قَبْلُ شَيْئًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ الْكَافِرِينَ
Min Dūni Al-Lahi Qālū Đallū `Annā Bal Lam Nakun Nad`ū Min Qablu Shay’āan Kadhālika Yuđillu Al-Lahu Al-Kāfirīna
40:74  From other than Allah?” They will say, “They have departed from us. Nay! Not we used to [we] call from before anything.” Thus lets go astray Allah the disbelievers.
74. Min doonil laahi qaaloo dalloo ‘annaa bal lam nakun nad’oo min qablu shai’aa; kazaalika yudillul laahul kaafireen
75. ذَٰلِكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَمْرَحُونَ
Dhālikum Bimā Kuntum Tafraĥūna Fī Al-‘Arđi Bighayri Al-Ĥaqqi Wa Bimā Kuntum Tamraĥūna
40:75  “That was because you used to rejoice in the earth without right and because you used to be insolent.
75. Zaalikum bimaa kuntum tafrahoona fil ardi bighairil haqqi wa bimaa kuntum tamrahoon
76. ادْخُلُوا أَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
Adkhulū ‘Abwāba Jahannama Khālidīna Fīhā Fabi’sa Mathwá Al-Mutakabbirīna
40:76  Enter (the) gates (of) Hell (to) abide forever in it, and wretched is (the) abode (of) the arrogant.”
76. Udkhulooo abwaaba Jahannama khaalideena feehaa fabi’sa maswal mutakabbireen
77. فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ ۚ فَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ الَّذِي نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ
Fāşbir ‘Inna Wa`da Al-Lahi Ĥaqqun Fa’immā Nuriyannaka Ba`đa Al-Ladhī Na`iduhum ‘Aw Natawaffayannaka Fa’ilaynā Yurja`ūna
40:77  So be patient; indeed, (the) Promise (of) Allah (is) true. And whether We show you some (of) what We have promised them or We cause you to die, then to Us they will be returned.
77. Fasbir inna wa’dal laahi haqq; fa immaa nuriyannak ba’dal lazee na’i duhum aw natawaffayannaka fa ilainaa yurja’oon
78. وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلًا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ لَمْ نَقْصُصْ عَلَيْكَ ۗ وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِآيَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ قُضِيَ بِالْحَقِّ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ
Wa Laqad ‘Arsalnā Rusulāan Min Qablika Minhum Man Qaşaşnā `Alayka Wa Minhum Man Lam Naqşuş `Alayka Wa Mā Kāna Lirasūlin ‘An Ya’tiya Bi’āyatin ‘Illā Bi’idhni Al-Lahi Fa’idhā Jā’a ‘Amru Al-Lahi Quđiya Bil-Ĥaqqi Wa Khasira Hunālika Al-Mubţilūna
40:78  And certainly We have sent Messengers from before you. Among them (are) who – We have related to you, and among them (are) who – not We have related to you. And not is for any Messenger that he brings a Sign except by (the) permission (of) Allah. So when comes (the) Command (of) Allah, it will be decided in truth, and will lose there the falsifiers.
78. Wa laqad arsalnaa Rusulam min qablika minhum man qasasnaa ‘alaika wa minhum mal lam naqsus ‘alaik; wa maa kaana li Rasoolin any yaatiya bi Aayatin illaa bi iznil laah; fa izaa jaaa’a amrul laahi qudiya bilhaqqi wa khasira hunaalikal mubtiloon (section 8)
79. اللَّهُ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَنْعَامَ لِتَرْكَبُوا مِنْهَا وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
Al-Lahu Al-Ladhī Ja`ala Lakumu Al-‘An`ām Litarkabū Minhā Wa Minhā Ta’kulūna
40:79  Allah (is) the One Who made for you the cattle, that you may ride some of them and some of them you eat.
79. Allaahul lazee ja’ala lakumul an’aama litarkaboo minhaa wa minhaa taakuloon
80. وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَلِتَبْلُغُوا عَلَيْهَا حَاجَةً فِي صُدُورِكُمْ وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
Wa Lakum Fīhā Manāfi`u Wa Litablughū `Alayhā Ĥājatan Fī Şudūrikum Wa `Alayhā Wa `Alá Al-Fulki Tuĥmalūna
40:80  And for you in them (are) benefits and that you may reach through them a need (that is) in your breasts; and upon them and upon the ships you are carried.
80. Wa lakum feehaa manaafi’u wa litablughoo ‘alaihaa haajatan fee sudoorikum wa ‘alaihaa wa ‘alal fulki tuhmaloon
81. وَيُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِهِ فَأَيَّ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ تُنْكِرُونَ
Wa Yurīkum ‘Āyātihi Fa’ayya ‘Āyāti Al-Lahi Tunkirūna
40:81  And He shows you His Signs. Then which (of the) Signs (of) Allah will you deny?
81. Wa yureekum Aayaatihee fa ayya Aayaatil laahi tunkiroon
82. أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
‘Afalam Yasīrū Fī Al-‘Arđi Fayanžurū Kayfa Kāna `Āqibatu Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Kānū ‘Akthara Minhum Wa ‘Ashadda Qūwatan Wa ‘Āthārāan Fī Al-‘Arđi Famā ‘Aghná `Anhum Mā Kānū Yaksibūna
40:82  Do they not travel through the land and see how was (the) end (of) those who (were) from before them? They were more numerous than them and mightier (in) strength and impressions in the land, but not availed them what they used to earn.
82. Afalam yaseeroo fil ardi fa yanzuroo kaifa kaana ‘aaqibatul lazeena min qablihim; kaanoo aksara minhum wa ashadda quwwatanw wa aasaaran fil ardi famaaa aghnaa ‘anhum maa kaanoo yaksiboon
83. فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرِحُوا بِمَا عِنْدَهُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
Falammā Jā’at/hum Rusuluhum Bil-Bayyināti Fariĥū Bimā `Indahum Mina Al-`Ilmi Wa Ĥāqa Bihim Mā Kānū Bihi Yastahzi’ūn
40:83  Then when came to them their Messengers with clear proofs they rejoiced in what they had of the knowledge, and enveloped them what they used to [at it] mock.
83. Falammaa jaaa’at hum Rusuluhum bilbaiyinaati farihoo bimaa ‘indahum minal ‘ilmi wa haaqa bihim maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi’oon
84. فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ وَكَفَرْنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهِ مُشْرِكِينَ
Falammā Ra’aw Ba’sanā Qālū ‘Āmannā Bil-Lahi Waĥdahu Wa Kafarnā Bimā Kunnā Bihi Mushrikīna
40:84  So when they saw Our punishment they said, “We believe in Allah Alone and we disbelieve in what we used to with Him associate.”
84. Falammaa ra aw baasanaa qaalooo aamannaa billaahi wahdahoo wa kafarnaa bimaa kunnaa bihee mushrikeen
85. فَلَمْ يَكُ يَنْفَعُهُمْ إِيمَانُهُمْ لَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا ۖ سُنَّتَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي قَدْ خَلَتْ فِي عِبَادِهِ ۖ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ الْكَافِرُونَ
Falam Yaku Yanfa`uhum ‘Īmānuhum Lammā Ra’aw Ba’sanā Sunnata Al-Lahi Allatī Qad Khalat Fī `Ibādihi Wa Khasira Hunālika Al-Kāfirūna
40:85  But not did benefit them their faith when they saw Our punishment. (Such is the) Way (of) Allah which (has) indeed preceded among His slaves. And are lost there the disbelievers.
85. Falam yaku yanfa ‘uhum eemaanuhum lammaa ra-aw ba’sana sunnatal laahil latee qad khalat fee ‘ibaadihee wa khasira hunaalikal kaafiroon (section 9)
