Steps to Memorize The Holy Quran Ayah by Ayah:

Step 1: Play Each Ayah     Step 2: Repeat After or With It     Step 3: Memorize Each Ayah     Step 4: Then Proceed with Next Ayah & Repeat Step 1 to 3 For All Ayahs.

Play Each Ayah & Repeat (as many times as needed) After or With it in a similar tone (qiraat) and pronunciation (tajweed) until you have Memorized the Ayah, after you have memorized the Ayah, play and repeat the Next Ayah, do this until you have In Sha Allah memorized all the Ayahs (i.e., verses) in the entire Surah. Make sure to also Read, Understand and Learn the Translation of the Surah inorder to get a better understanding of the Surah you are Memorizing or Reading.

Memorize & Understand Ayah by Ayah

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Ayah 1: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

 Ayah/Verse 1: wal-samāi wal-ṭāriqi

Meaning: By the sky and At-Tariq

[Wassamaaa’i wattaariq]

Ayah 2: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ

Ayah/Verse 2: wamā adrāka l-ṭāriqu

Meaning: And what will make you realize what At-Tariq is

[Wa maaa adraaka mattaariq]

Ayah 3: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ

Ayah/Verse 3: al-najmu l-thāqibu

Meaning: ˹It is˺ the Star of piercing brightness

[Annajmus saaqib]

Ayah 4: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ

Ayah/Verse 4: in kullu nafsin lammā ʿalayhā ḥāfiẓun

Meaning: Truly every soul, but ˹has˺ a protector over it

[In kullu nafsil lammaa ‘alaihaa haafiz]

Ayah 5: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ

Ayah/Verse 5: falyanẓuri l-insānu mimma khuliqa

Meaning: So let the human being observe (i.e., think about) from what he (i.e., human being) is created

[Fal yanzuril insaanu mimma khuliq]

Ayah 6: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ

Ayah/Verse 6: khuliqa min māin dāfiqin

Meaning: he (i.e., human being) is created from a fluid ejected

[Khuliqa mim maaa’in daafiq]

Ayah 7: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ

Ayah/Verse 7: yakhruju min bayni l-ṣul’bi wal-tarāibi

Meaning: emerging (i.e., coming out) from between the backbone and the ribs

[Yakhruju mim bainissulbi wat taraaa’ib]

Ayah 8: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ

Ayah/Verse 8: innahu ʿalā rajʿihi laqādirun

Meaning: Indeed, He ˹Allâh˺ is surely All-Powerful to bring (i.e., resurrect) him (i.e., human being) back ˹to life˺

[Innahoo ‘alaa raj’ihee laqaadir]

Ayah 9, 10: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ

Ayah/Verse 9: yawma tub’lā l-sarāiru

Meaning: on the Day when the secrets will be tested

[Yawma tublas saraaa’ir]

فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ

Ayah/Verse 10: famā lahu min quwwatin walā nāṣirin

Meaning: then there will not be for him (i.e., human being) any strength and nor ˹any˺ one who helps

[Famaa lahoo min quwwatinw wa laa naasir]

وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ

Ayah/Verse 11: wal-samāi dhāti l-rajʿi

Meaning: By the sky that returns ˹rain˺

[Wassamaaa’i zaatir raj’]

وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ

Ayah/Verse 12: wal-arḍi dhāti l-ṣadʿi

Meaning: and the earth that cracks open (i.e., for sprouting plants)

[Wal ardi zaatis sad’]

إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ

Ayah/Verse 13: innahu laqawlun faṣlun

Meaning: Indeed, it (i.e., Quran) is surely a Decisive (i.e., conclusive) Word

[Innahoo laqawlun fasl]

وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ

Ayah/Verse 14: wamā huwa bil-hazli

Meaning: and it (i.e., Quran) is not to be taken lightly

[Wa maa huwa bil hazl]

Ayah 15, 16: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا

Ayah/Verse 15: innahum yakīdūna kaydan

Meaning: Indeed, they (i.e., disbelievers) are plotting a plot, (against you O Prophet)

[Innahum yakeedoona kaidaa]

وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا

Ayah/Verse 16: wa-akīdu kaydan

Meaning: and I ˹Allah˺ am planning a plan (i.e., against the plotting disbelievers)

[Wa akeedu kaidaa]

Ayah 17: Play | Listen | Repeat Memorize

فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا

Ayah/Verse 17: famahhili l-kāfirīna amhil’hum ruwaydan

Meaning: So allow time for the disbelievers (i.e., plotters), allow them a little more time

[Famahhilil kaafireena amhilhum ruwaidaa]
