9. Surah Al-Taubah

1 to 30

1. بَرَاءَةٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ إِلَى الَّذِينَ عَاهَدْتُمْ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ
Barā’atun Mina Al-Lahi Wa Rasūlihi ‘Ilá Al-Ladhīna `Āhadttum Mina Al-Mushrikīna
9:1 Freedom/Release from obligations ˹is declared˺ from Allah and His Messenger to those (i.e., polytheists) with whom you ˹believers˺ made a covenant/treaty from/among the polytheists.

9:1  Freedom from obligations from Allah and His Messenger to those (with) whom you ˹believers˺ made a covenant/treaty from/among the polytheists.

1. Baraaa’atum minal laahi wa Rasooliheee ilal lazeena ‘aahattum minal mushrikeen
2. فَسِيحُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ أَرْبَعَةَ أَشْهُرٍ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِي اللَّهِ ۙ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ مُخْزِي الْكَافِرِينَ
Fasīĥū Fī Al-‘Arđi ‘Arba`ata ‘Ash/hurin Wa A`lamū Annakum Ghayru Mu`jizī Al-Lahi Wa ‘Anna Al-Laha Mukhzī Al-Kāfirīna
9:2 (Say to the polytheists)  “So move about/travel freely ˹you polytheists˺ in the land ˹during˺ four months, but know that you can not escape from Allah and that Allah is the One Who will disgrace the disbelievers.”
2. Faseehoo fil ardi arba’ata ashhurinw wa’lamoooannakum ghairu mu’jizil laahi wa annal laaha mukhzil kaafireen
3. وَأَذَانٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ إِلَى النَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْحَجِّ الْأَكْبَرِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ بَرِيءٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ۙ وَرَسُولُهُ ۚ فَإِنْ تُبْتُمْ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ فَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّكُمْ غَيْرُ مُعْجِزِي اللَّهِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
Wa ‘Adhānun Mina Al-Lahi Wa Rasūlihi ‘Ilá An-Nāsi Yawma Al-Ĥajji Al-‘Akbari Anna Al-Laha Barī’un Mina Al-Mushrikīna Wa Rasūluhu Fa’in Tubtum Fahuwa Khayrun Lakum Wa ‘In Tawallaytum Fā`lamū Annakum Ghayru Mu`jizī Al-Lahi Wa Bashshiri Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Bi`adhābin Alīmin

9:3  And an announcement/ a declaration from Allah and His Messenger ˹is made˺ to the people on the day of the Greater Pilgrimage, that Allah and His Messenger is/are free/released from obligations of the polytheists. So if you (i.e., polytheist) repent, then, it is best for you. But if you (i.e., polytheist) turn away, then know that you can not escape Allah. And give good news ˹O Prophet˺ to those who disbelieve of a painful punishment.

9:3  And an announcement/ a declaration from Allah and His Messenger ˹is made˺ to the people on the day of the Greater Pilgrimage that Allah is free from obligations of the polytheists, and (so is) His Messenger. So if you repent, then, it is best for you. But if you turn away then know that you (can) not escape Allah. And give glad tidings (to) those who disbelieve of a punishment painful.
3. Wa azaanum minal laahi wa Rasooliheee ilan naasi yawmal Hajjil Akbari annal laaha bareee’um minal mushrikeena wa Rasooluh; fa-in tubtum fahuwa khairullakum wa in tawallaitum fa’lamooo annakum ghairu mu’jizil laah; wa bashiril lazeena kafaroo biazaabin aleem
4. إِلَّا الَّذِينَ عَاهَدْتُمْ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنْقُصُوكُمْ شَيْئًا وَلَمْ يُظَاهِرُوا عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدًا فَأَتِمُّوا إِلَيْهِمْ عَهْدَهُمْ إِلَىٰ مُدَّتِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ
‘Illā Al-Ladhīna `Āhadttum Mina Al-Mushrikīna Thumma Lam Yanquşūkum Shay’āan Wa Lam Yužāhirū `Alaykum Aĥadāan Fa’atimmū Ilayhim `Ahdahum ‘Ilá Muddatihim Inna Al-Laha Yuĥibbu Al-Muttaqīna

9:4  Except for those with whom you have a treaty/ you made an agreement among the polytheists, then/and they have not failed you in any thing and they have not supported anyone against you, so fulfil their treaty to/for them until/till ˹the end of˺ their term. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous/those who are mindful ˹of Him˺.

9:4  Except those (with) whom you have a covenant among the polytheists, then not they have failed you (in any) thing and not they have supported against you anyone, so fulfil to them their treaty till their term. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous.
4. Illal lazeena ‘aahattum minal mushrikeena summa lam yanqusookum shai’anw-wa lam yuzaahiroo ‘alaikum ahadan fa atimmooo ilaihim ‘ahdahum ilaa muddatihim; innal laaha yuhibbul muttaqeen
5. فَإِذَا انْسَلَخَ الْأَشْهُرُ الْحُرُمُ فَاقْتُلُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَيْثُ وَجَدْتُمُوهُمْ وَخُذُوهُمْ وَاحْصُرُوهُمْ وَاقْعُدُوا لَهُمْ كُلَّ مَرْصَدٍ ۚ فَإِنْ تَابُوا وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ فَخَلُّوا سَبِيلَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
Fa’idhā Ansalakha Al-‘Ash/huru Al-Ĥurumu Fāqtulū Al-Mushrikīna Ĥaythu Wajadtumūhum Wa Khudhūhum Wa Aĥşurūhum Wāq`udū Lahum Kulla Marşadin Fa’in Tābū Wa ‘Aqāmū Aş-Şalāata Wa ‘Ātaw Az-Zakāata Fakhallū Sabīlahum ‘Inna Al-Laha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun
9:5  Then when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists ˹who violated their treaties˺ wherever you find them and seize/capture them and besiege/surround/restrict them and sit/lie ˹in wait˺ for them at every place of ambush (i.e., outpost). But if they repent and establish the prayer and give the alms-tax, then leave their way. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
5. Fa izansalakhal Ashhurul Hurumu faqtulul mushrikeena haisu wajattumoohum wa khuzoohum wahsuroohum waq’udoo lahum kulla marsad; fa-in taaboo wa aqaamus Salaata wa aatawuz Zakaata fakhalloo sabeelahum; innal laaha Ghafoorur Raheem
6. وَإِنْ أَحَدٌ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ اسْتَجَارَكَ فَأَجِرْهُ حَتَّىٰ يَسْمَعَ كَلَامَ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ أَبْلِغْهُ مَأْمَنَهُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Wa ‘InAĥadun Mina Al-Mushrikīna Astajāraka Fa’ajirhu Ĥattá Yasma`a Kalāma Al-Lahi Thumma Abligh’hu Ma’manahu Dhālika Bi’annahum Qawmun  Ya`lamūna
9:6  And if anyone of the polytheists seek your protection ˹O Prophet˺, then grant him protection until he hears the Words of Allah (i.e., the Quran). Then escort him to his place of safety. That is because they are a people who do not know/have no knowledge.
6. Wa in ahadum minal mushrikeenas tajaaraka fa ajirhu hattaa yasma’a Kalaamal laahi summa ablighhu maa manah; zaalika bi annahum qawmul laa ya’lamoon (section 1)
7. كَيْفَ يَكُونُ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ عَهْدٌ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَعِنْدَ رَسُولِهِ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ عَاهَدْتُمْ عِنْدَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ ۖ فَمَا اسْتَقَامُوا لَكُمْ فَاسْتَقِيمُوا لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُتَّقِينَ
Kayfa Yakūnu Lilmushrikīna `Ahdun `Inda Al-Lahi Wa `Inda Rasūlihi Illā Al-Ladhīna `Āhadtum `Inda Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Famā Astaqāmū Lakum Fāstaqīmū LahumInna Al-Laha Yuĥibbu Al-Muttaqīna
9:7  How can there be a treaty for the polytheists with Allah and with His Messenger, except those with whom you made a treaty/ an agreement near Al-Masjid (i.e., The Mosque) Al-Haraam (i.e., The Sacred)? So long as they are upright to you then you be upright to them. Indeed, Allah loves the righteous/those who are mindful ˹of Him˺.

7. Kaifa yakoonu lilmush rikeena ‘ahdun ‘indallaahi wa ‘inda Rasoolihee illal lazeena ‘aahattum ‘indal Masjidil Haraami famas taqaamoo lakum fastaqeemoo lahum; innallaaha yuhibbul muttaqeen
8. كَيْفَ وَإِنْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَيْكُمْ لَا يَرْقُبُوا فِيكُمْ إِلًّا وَلَا ذِمَّةً ۚ يُرْضُونَكُمْ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتَأْبَىٰ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ
Kayfa Wa ‘In Yažharū `Alaykum Yarqubū Fīkum Illāan Wa Lā Dhimmatan Yurđūnakum Bi’afwāhihim Wa Ta’bá Qulūbuhum Wa ‘Aktharuhum Fāsiqūna
9:8  How ˹can they have a treaty˺, while, if they gain dominance/became dominant over you not they do regard (the ties) with you (of) kinship and not covenant of protection? They satisfy/flatter you with their mouths/tongues, but their hearts refuse/reject you, and most of them are defiantly disobedient/rebellious.

9:8  How ˹can they have a treaty˺, while, if they were to gain dominance over you, they would neither/not regard/respect kinship with you and nor treaty of protection?

8. Kaifa wa iny-yazharoo ‘alaikum laa yarquboo feekum illanw wa laa zimmah; yurdoo nakum biafwaahihim wa ta’baa quloobuhum wa aksaruhum faasiqoon
9. اشْتَرَوْا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا فَصَدُّوا عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ سَاءَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
Ashtaraw Bi’āyāti Al-Lahi Thamanāan Qalīlāan Faşaddū `An Sabīlihi Innahum Sā’a Kānū Ya`malūna
9:9  They exchanged with the Verses of Allah a little price, and they turned away from His way/path. Indeed, evil is what they used to do.
9. Ishtaraw bi  Aayaatil laahi samanan qaleelan fasaddoo ‘an sabeelih; innahum saaa’a maa kaanoo ya’maloon
10. لَا يَرْقُبُونَ فِي مُؤْمِنٍ إِلًّا وَلَا ذِمَّةً ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُعْتَدُونَ
Yarqubūna Mu’uminin Illāan Wa Lā Dhimmatan Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Humu Al-Mu`tadūna

9:10  they neither respect kinship towards a believer and nor treaty of protection. And those, they are the transgressors.

10. Laa yarquboona fee mu’minin illanw wa laa zimmah wa ulaaa ‘ika humulmu ‘tadoon
11. فَإِنْ تَابُوا وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ ۗ وَنُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ
Fa’in Tābū Wa ‘Aqāmū Aş-Şalāata Wa ‘Ātaw Az-Zakāata Fa’ikhwānukum Fī Ad-Dīni Wa Nufaşşilu Al-‘Āyāti Liqawmin Ya`lamūna
9:11  But if they repent and establish the prayer and give the alms-taxes, then they are your brothers in the religion. And We explain the Verses in detail for a people who know/understand.
11. Fa in taaboo wa aqaamus Salaata wa aatawuz Zakaata fa ikhwaanukum fid deen; wa nufassilul Aayaati liqawminy ya’lamoon
12. وَإِنْ نَكَثُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ مِنْ بَعْدِ عَهْدِهِمْ وَطَعَنُوا فِي دِينِكُمْ فَقَاتِلُوا أَئِمَّةَ الْكُفْرِ ۙ إِنَّهُمْ لَا أَيْمَانَ لَهُمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَنْتَهُونَ
Wa ‘In Nakathū Aymānahum Min Ba`di `Ahdihim Wa Ţa`anū Dīnikum Faqātilū A’immata Al-Kufri Innahum Lā Aymāna Lahum La`allahum Yantahūna
9:12  And if they break their oaths from after ˹they have made/making˺ their treaty ˹with you˺ and defame in your religion, then fight the leaders/champions of the disbelief, indeed, they have no oaths ˹sacred˺ for/to them, so that they may cease/desist.

12. Wa in nakasooo aimaanahum mim ba’di ‘ahdihim wa ta’anoo fee deenikum faqaatilooo a’immatal kufri innahum laaa aimaana lahum la’allahum yantahoon
13. أَلَا تُقَاتِلُونَ قَوْمًا نَكَثُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ وَهَمُّوا بِإِخْرَاجِ الرَّسُولِ وَهُمْ بَدَءُوكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ ۚ أَتَخْشَوْنَهُمْ ۚ فَاللَّهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَخْشَوْهُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
‘Alā Tuqātilūna Qawmāan Nakathū Aymānahum Wa Hammū Bi’ikhrāji Ar-Rasūli Wa Hum Bada’ūkumAwwala Marratin Atakhshawnahum Fa-AllāhuAĥaqqu ‘An Takhshawhu ‘In Kuntum Mu’uminīna
9:13  Will you not fight a people who broke their oaths and determined/ intended/ conspired to drive out/expel the Messenger ˹from Mecca˺ and they began ˹to attack on˺ you the first time? Do you fear them? But Allah has more/greater right that you should fear Him, if you are believers.

13. Alaa tuqaatiloona qawman nakasooo aimaanahum wa hammoo bi ikhraajir Rasooli wa hum bada’ookum awwala marrah; atakhshawnahum; fallaahu ahaqqu an takhshawhu in kuntum mu’mineen
14. قَاتِلُوهُمْ يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللَّهُ بِأَيْدِيكُمْ وَيُخْزِهِمْ وَيَنْصُرْكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيَشْفِ صُدُورَ قَوْمٍ مُؤْمِنِينَ
Qātilūhum Yu`adhdhibhumu Al-Lahu Bi’aydīkum Wa Yukhzihim Wa Yanşurkum `Alayhim Wa Yashfi Şudūra Qawmin Mu’uminīna
9:14 ˹So˺ fight them Allah will punish them with your hands and disgrace them/ and put them to shame and give you victory over them, and will heal the chests of a believing people.

and will heal (the) breasts (of) a people (who are) believers.
14. Qaatiloohum yu’az zibhumul laahu bi aideekum wa yukhzihim wa yansurkum ‘alaihim wa yashfi sudoora qawmim mu ‘mineen
15. وَيُذْهِبْ غَيْظَ قُلُوبِهِمْ ۗ وَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
Wa Yudh/hib Ghayža Qulūbihim Wa Yatūbu Al-Lahu `Alá Man Yashā’u Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Ĥakīmun
9:15  And remove the anger of their hearts. And Allah accepts repentance of whom He wills. And Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise.
15. Wa yuzhib ghaiza quloobihim; wa yatoobullaahu ‘alaa mai yashaaa’; wallaahu ‘Aleemun Hakeem
16. أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَنْ تُتْرَكُوا وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا مِنْكُمْ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلَا رَسُولِهِ وَلَا الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَلِيجَةً ۚ وَاللَّهُ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
‘Am Ĥasibtum An Tutrakū Wa Lammā Ya`lami Al-Lahu Al-Ladhīna Jāhadū Minkum Wa Lam Yattakhidhū Min Dūni Al-Lahi Wa Lā Rasūlihi Wa Lā Al-Mu’uminīna Walījatan Wa Allāhu Khabīrun Bimā Ta`malūna
9:16  Or do you ˹believers˺ think that you would/will be left ˹untested or as you are˺ while Allah has not yet made evident those among you who ˹truly˺ strive/struggle ˹in His cause˺, and do not take from besides Allah and nor His Messenger and nor the believers as trusted allies? And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.

and not take (from) besides Allah and not His Messenger and not the believers as trusted allies?

9:16  Or do you ˹believers˺ think that you would/will be left while not made evident Allah those who strive among you, and not take (from) besides Allah and not His Messenger and not the believers(as) intimates? And Allah (is) All-Aware of what you do.
16. Am hasibtum an tutrakoo wa lammaa ya’lamil laahul lazeena jaahadoo minkum wa lam yattakhizoo min doonil laahi wa laa Rasoolihee wa lalmu’mineena waleejah; wallaahu khabeerum bimaa ta’maloon (section 2)
17. مَا كَانَ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ أَنْ يَعْمُرُوا مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ شَاهِدِينَ عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ بِالْكُفْرِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ وَفِي النَّارِ هُمْ خَالِدُونَ
Kāna Lilmushrikīna ‘An Ya`murū Masājida Al-Lahi Shāhidīna `Alá ‘Anfusihim Bil-Kufri ‘Ūlā’ika Ĥabiţat ‘A`māluhum Wa Fī An-Nāri Hum Khālidūna
9:17 it is not for the polytheists that they maintain the mosques of Allah while witnessing/ they bear witness against themselves with/to disbelief. For those (i.e., polytheists), their deeds are worthless, and they will stay forever in the Fire.
17. maa kaana lilmushrikeena ai ya’muroo masaajidal laahi shaahideena ‘alaaa anfusihim bilkufr; ulaaa’ika habitat a’maaluhum wa fin naari hum khaalidoon
18. إِنَّمَا يَعْمُرُ مَسَاجِدَ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ وَآتَى الزَّكَاةَ وَلَمْ يَخْشَ إِلَّا اللَّهَ ۖ فَعَسَىٰ أُولَٰئِكَ أَنْ يَكُونُوا مِنَ الْمُهْتَدِينَ
Innamā Ya`muru Masājida Al-Lahi Man Āmana Bil-Lahi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-‘Ākhiri Wa ‘Aqāma Aş-Şalāata Wa ‘Ātá Az-Zakāata Wa Lam Yakhsha Illā Al-Laha Fa`asá ‘Ūlā’ikaAn Yakūnū Mina Al-Muhtadīna
9:18 The mosques of Allah will only be maintained by the one/those who believe/s in Allah and the Last Day, and establish/es the prayer and give/s the alms-taxes and fear none except Allah. Then perhaps that those will be among the guided ones.

and do not fear except Allah.

Then perhaps those, [that] they are of the guided ones.

18. Innamaa ya’muru masaa jidal laahi man aamana billaahi wal Yawmil Aakhiri wa aqaamas Salaata wa aataz Zakaata wa lam yakhshaa illal laaha fa’asaaa ulaaa’ika ai yakoonoo minal muhtadeen
19. أَجَعَلْتُمْ سِقَايَةَ الْحَاجِّ وَعِمَارَةَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ كَمَنْ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَجَاهَدَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ لَا يَسْتَوُونَ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Aja`altum Siqāyata Al-Ĥājji Wa `Imārata Al-Masjidi Al-Ĥarāmi Kaman Āmana Bil-Lahi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-‘Ākhiri Wa Jāhada Sabīli Al-Lahi Yastawūna `Inda Al-Lahi Wa Allāhu Yahdī Al-Qawma Až-Žālimīna
9:19  Do you ˹pagans˺ make/consider providing/giving water to the pilgrims and the maintenance of Al-Masjid (i.e., Mosque) Al-Haraam (i.e., Sacred) as equal to those/ the one who believe/s in Allah and the Last Day, and strive/s/struggle/s in the way of Allah? They are not equal near Allah. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoers people.
19. Aja’altum siqaayatal haaajji wa ‘imaaratal masjidil haraami kamman aamana billaahi wal Yawmil Aakhiri wa jaahada fee sabeelil laah; laa yastawoona ‘indal laah; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen
20. الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَهَاجَرُوا وَجَاهَدُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ أَعْظَمُ دَرَجَةً عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ
Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Wa Hājarū Wa Jāhadū Sabīli Al-Lahi Bi’amwālihim Wa ‘Anfusihim ‘A`žamu Darajatan `Inda Al-Lahi Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Humu Al-Fā’izūna
9:20  Those who believed and emigrated and strived in the way of Allah with their wealth and their lives are greater in rank near Allah. And those, they are the successful.
20. Allazeena aamanoo wa haajaroo wa jaahadoo fee sabeelil laahi bi amwaalihim wa anfusihim a’zamu darajatan ‘indal laah; wa ulaaa’ika humul faaa’izoon
21. يُبَشِّرُهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْهُ وَرِضْوَانٍ وَجَنَّاتٍ لَهُمْ فِيهَا نَعِيمٌ مُقِيمٌ
Yubashshiruhum Rabbuhum Biraĥmatin Minhu Wa Riđwānin Wa Jannātin Lahum Fīhā Na`īmun Muqīmun
9:21  Their Lord gives them good news of Mercy from Him and Pleasure, and Gardens for them in it/ wherein (i.e., gardens) is eternal/everlasting bliss.
21. Yubashshiruhum Rabbuhum birahmatim minhu wa ridwaaninw wa Jannaatil lahum feehaa na’eemum muqeem
22. خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عِنْدَهُ أَجْرٌ عَظِيمٌ
Khālidīna Fīhā Abadāan Inna Al-Laha `Indahu Ajrun `Ažīmun
9:22  They will stay in it forever and ever. Indeed, Allah has with Him a great reward.
22. Khaalideena feehaaa abadaa; innal laaha ‘indahooo ajrun ‘azeem
23. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا آبَاءَكُمْ وَإِخْوَانَكُمْ أَوْلِيَاءَ إِنِ اسْتَحَبُّوا الْكُفْرَ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ ۚ وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ
Yā ‘Ayyuhā Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Tattakhidhū Ābā’akum Wa ‘Ikhwānakum ‘Awliyā’aIni Astaĥabbū Al-Kufra `Alá Al-‘Īmāni Wa Man Yatawallahum Minkum Fa’ūlā’ika Humu Až-Žālimūna
9:23  O you who believe! Do not take your fathers and your brothers as allies if they prefer the disbelief over the belief. And whoever takes them as allies among you, then those, they are the wrongdoers.
23. Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo laa tattakhizooo aabaaa ‘akum wa ikhwaanakum awliyaaa’a inis tahabbul kufra ‘alal eemaan; wa mai yatawal lahum minkum fa ulaaa’ika humuz zaalimoon
24. قُلْ إِنْ كَانَ آبَاؤُكُمْ وَأَبْنَاؤُكُمْ وَإِخْوَانُكُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُكُمْ وَعَشِيرَتُكُمْ وَأَمْوَالٌ اقْتَرَفْتُمُوهَا وَتِجَارَةٌ تَخْشَوْنَ كَسَادَهَا وَمَسَاكِنُ تَرْضَوْنَهَا أَحَبَّ إِلَيْكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَجِهَادٍ فِي سَبِيلِهِ فَتَرَبَّصُوا حَتَّىٰ يَأْتِيَ اللَّهُ بِأَمْرِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ
Qul In Kāna Ābā’uukum Wa ‘Abnā’uukum Wa ‘Ikhwānukum Wa ‘Azwājukum Wa `Ashīratukum Wa ‘Amwālun Aqtaraftumūhā Wa Tijāratun Takhshawna Kasādahā Wa Masākinu Tarđawnahā Aĥabba Ilaykum Mina Al-Lahi Wa Rasūlihi Wa Jihādin  Sabīlihi Fatarabbaşū Ĥattá Ya’tiya Al-Lahu Bi’amrihi Wa Allāhu Yahdī Al-Qawma Al-Fāsiqīna
9:24  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If your fathers, and your sons, and your brothers, and your spouses, and your relatives, and the wealth that you have acquired and the commerce/trade you fear will/may/its decline and the homes with which you are pleased/ that please you- ˹if all these˺ are more beloved/dearer to you than Allah, and His Messenger and striving/ struggling in His way, then wait until Allah brings His Command. And Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient/ rebellious people.”
24. Qul in kaana aabaaa’ukum wa abnaaa’ukum wa ikhwaanukum wa azwaajukum wa ‘asheeratukum wa amwaaluniq taraftumoohaa wa tijaaratun takhshawna kasaadahaa wa masaakinu tardawnahaaa ahabba ilaikum minal laahi wa Rasoolihee wa Jihaadin fee Sabeelihee fatarabbasoo hattaa ya’tiyallahu bi amrih; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmal faasiqeen (section 3)
25. لَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ فِي مَوَاطِنَ كَثِيرَةٍ ۙ وَيَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ۙ إِذْ أَعْجَبَتْكُمْ كَثْرَتُكُمْ فَلَمْ تُغْنِ عَنْكُمْ شَيْئًا وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ ثُمَّ وَلَّيْتُمْ مُدْبِرِينَ
Laqad Naşarakumu Al-Lahu Mawāţina Kathīratin Wa Yawma Ĥunaynin ‘Idh ‘A`jabatkum Kathratukum Falam Tughni `Ankum Shay’āan Wa Đāqat `Alaykumu Al-‘Arđu Bimā Raĥubat Thumma Wallaytum Mudbirīna
9:25  Indeed, Allah helped you ˹believers˺ in many regions, and ˹even˺ on the day ˹of the Battle˺ of Hunain, when your multitude/ great numbers pleased you, but it did not benefit you in anything and the earth closed in/constricted on you despite of its vastness, then you turned back, fleeing/ in retreat.
25. Laqad nasarakumul laahu fee mawaatina kaseeratinw wa yawma Hunainin iz a’jabatkum kasratukum falam tughni ‘ankum shai’anw wa daaqat ‘alaikumul ardu bimaa rahubat summa wallaitum mudbireen
26. ثُمَّ أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِ وَعَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَأَنْزَلَ جُنُودًا لَمْ تَرَوْهَا وَعَذَّبَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَاءُ الْكَافِرِينَ
Thumma Anzala Al-Lahu Sakīnatahu `Alá Rasūlihi Wa `Alá Al-Mu’uminīna Wa ‘Anzala Junūdāan Lam Tarawhā Wa `Adhdhaba Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Wa Dhalika Jazā’u Al-Kāfirīna
9:26  Then Allah sent down His Calm/Calmness on His Messenger, and on the believers and sent down forces (which) you could not see and He punished those who disbelieved. And that is the recompense/reward of the disbelievers.
26. Summa anzalal laahu sakeenatahoo ‘alaa Rasoolihee wa’alal mu’mineena wa anzala junoodal lam tarawhaa wa azzabal lazeena kafaroo; wa zaalika jazaaa’ul kaafireen
27. ثُمَّ يَتُوبُ اللَّهُ مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَىٰ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۗ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
Thumma Yatūbu Al-Lahu Min Ba`di Dhālika `Alá Man Yashā’u Wa Allāhu Ghafūrun Raĥīmun
9:27  Then from after that Allah accepts repentance for whom He wills. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
27. Summa yatoobul laahu mim ba’di zaalika ‘alaa mai yashaaa’; wallaahu Ghafoorur Raheem
28. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّمَا الْمُشْرِكُونَ نَجَسٌ فَلَا يَقْرَبُوا الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ بَعْدَ عَامِهِمْ هَٰذَا ۚ وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ عَيْلَةً فَسَوْفَ يُغْنِيكُمُ اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ إِنْ شَاءَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
Yā ‘Ayyuhā Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Innamā Al-Mushrikūna Najasun Falā Yaqrabū Al-Masjida Al-Ĥarāma Ba`da `Āmihim Hādhā Wa ‘In Khiftum `Aylatan Fasawfa Yughnīkumu Al-Lahu Min Fađlihi In Shā’aInna Al-Laha `Alīmun Ĥakīmun
9:28  O you who believe! Indeed, the polytheists are impure, so do not let them come near Al-Masjid Al-Haraam after this year of theirs. And if you fear poverty, then soon Allah will enrich you from His Bounty, if He wills. Indeed, Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise.
28. Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanooo innamal mushrikoona najasun falaa yaqrabul Masjidal Haraama ba’da ‘aamihim haaza; wa in khiftum ‘ailatan fasawfa yughnee kumul laahu min fadliheee in shaaa’; innallaaha ‘Aleemun hakeem
29. قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَلَا بِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَلَا يُحَرِّمُونَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَلَا يَدِينُونَ دِينَ الْحَقِّ مِنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ حَتَّىٰ يُعْطُوا الْجِزْيَةَ عَنْ يَدٍ وَهُمْ صَاغِرُونَ
Qātilū Al-Ladhīna Yu’uminūna Bil-Lahi Wa Lā Bil-Yawmi Al-‘Ākhiri Wa Lā Yuĥarrimūna Ĥarrama Al-Lahu Wa Rasūluhu Wa Lā Yadīnūna Dīna Al-Ĥaqqi Mina Al-LadhīnaŪtū Al-Kitāba Ĥattá Yu`ţū Al-Jizyata `An Yadin Wa Hum Şāghirūna
9:29 Fight those who do not believe in Allah and nor in the Last Day, and nor do they make unlawful (i.e., forbid) what Allah and His Messenger has made unlawful (i.e., forbidden), and nor do they acknowledge/ adopt/ follow/ embrace the religion of the truth, from among those who were given the Scripture, until they pay the tax from a willing hand, while they are subdued/ humbled.
29. Qaatilul lazeena laa yu’minoona billaahi wa laa bil yawmil Aakhiri wa laa yuharrimoona maa harramal laahu wa Rasooluhoo wa laa yadeenoona deenal haqqi minal lazeena ootul Kitaaba hattaa yu’tul jizyata ai yadinw wa hum saaghiroon (section 4)
30. وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ عُزَيْرٌ ابْنُ اللَّهِ وَقَالَتِ النَّصَارَى الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ اللَّهِ ۖ ذَٰلِكَ قَوْلُهُمْ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ ۖ يُضَاهِئُونَ قَوْلَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ ۚ قَاتَلَهُمُ اللَّهُ ۚ أَنَّىٰ يُؤْفَكُونَ
Wa Qālati Al-Yahūdu `Uzayrun Abnu Al-Lahi Wa Qālati An-Naşārá Al-Masīĥu Abnu Al-Lahi Dhālika Qawluhum Bi’afwāhihim Yuđāhi’ūna Qawla Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Min Qablu Qātalahumu Al-Lahu ‘Anná Yu’ufakūna
9:30  And the Jews said, Ezra (i.e., Uzair) is son of Allah.” And the Christians said, “Messiah is son of Allah.” That is their saying with their mouths, they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved from before ˹them˺. May Allah destroy them, How deluded are they ˹from the truth˺!
30. Wa qaalatil yahoodu ‘Uzairunib nul laahi wa qaalatin Nasaaral Maseehub nul laahi zaalika qawluhum bi afwaahihim yudaahi’oona qawlal lazeena kafaroo min qabl; qatalahumul laah; annaa yu’fakoon
31. اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا إِلَٰهًا وَاحِدًا ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ سُبْحَانَهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
Attakhadhū ‘Aĥbārahum Wa Ruhbānahum ‘Arbābāan Min Dūni Al-Lahi Wa Al-Masīĥa Abna Maryama Wa Mā ‘Umirū ‘Illā Liya`budū ‘Ilahāan Wāĥidāan  ‘Ilāha ‘Illā Huwa Subĥānahu `Ammā Yushrikūna
9:31  They have taken their rabbis and their monks and the Messiah, son of Maryam as Lords from besides Allah. And they were not commanded except that they worship One God. There is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. Glory be to Him above what they associate ˹with Him˺.
31. ittakhazooo ahbaarahum wa ruhbaanahum arbaabammin doonil laahi wal Maseehab na Maryama wa maaa umirooo illaa liya’budooo Ilaahanw Waa hidan laaa ilaaha illaa Hoo; Subhaanahoo ‘ammaa yushrikoon

9. Surah Al-Taubah

32 to 60

32. يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَيَأْبَى اللَّهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يُتِمَّ نُورَهُ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ
Yurīdūna ‘An Yuţfi’ū Nūra Al-Lahi Bi’afwāhihim Wa Ya’bá Al-Lahu ‘Illā An Yutimma Nūrahu Wa Law Kariha Al-Kāfirūna
9:32  They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah refuses, except to perfect His Light, even if the disbelievers dislike it.
32. Yureedoona ai yutfi’oo nooral laahi bi’afwaahihim wa ya’ballaahu illaaa ai yutimma noorahoo wa law karihal kaafiroon
33. هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَىٰ وَدِينِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِّهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ
Huwa Al-Ladhī Arsala Rasūlahu Bil-Hudá Wa Dīni Al-Ĥaqqi Liyužhirahu `Alá Ad-Dīni Kullihi Wa Law Kariha Al-Mushrikūna
9:33  He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the religion of the truth, to manifest/ prevail it over all religions, even if the polytheists dislike it.
33. huwal lazeee ar sala Rasoolahoo bilhudaa wa deenil haqqi liyuzhirahoo ‘alad deeni kullihee wa law karihal mushrikoon
34. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنَ الْأَحْبَارِ وَالرُّهْبَانِ لَيَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ يَكْنِزُونَ الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ وَلَا يُنْفِقُونَهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
Yā ‘Ayyuhā Al-LadhīnaĀmanū ‘Inna Kathīrāan Mina Al-‘Aĥbāri Wa Ar-Ruhbāni Laya’kulūna Amwāla An-Nāsi Bil-Bāţili Wa Yaşuddūna `An Sabīli Al-Lahi Wa Al-Ladhīna Yaknizūna Adh-Dhahaba Wa Al-Fiđđata Wa Lā Yunfiqūnahā Sabīli Al-Lahi Fabashshirhum Bi`adhābin Alīmin
9:34  O you who believe! Indeed, many of the rabbis and the monks surely eat the wealth of the people in falsehood, and hinder/ prevent ˹others˺ from the way of Allah. And those who hoard the gold and the silver, and do not spend it in the way of Allah, so give them tidings/ good news/ the news of a painful punishment.
34. Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanooo inna kaseeramminal ahbaari warruhbaani la ya’kuloona amwaalan naasi bil baatili wa yasuddoona ‘an sabeelil laah; wallazeena yaknizoonaz zahaba wal fiddata wa laayunfiqoonahaa fee sabeelil laahi fabashshirhum bi’azaabin aleem
35. يَوْمَ يُحْمَىٰ عَلَيْهَا فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ فَتُكْوَىٰ بِهَا جِبَاهُهُمْ وَجُنُوبُهُمْ وَظُهُورُهُمْ ۖ هَٰذَا مَا كَنَزْتُمْ لِأَنْفُسِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا مَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْنِزُونَ
Yawma Yuĥmá `Alayhā Nāri Jahannama Fatukwá Bihā Jibāhuhum Wa Junūbuhum Wa Žuhūruhum Hādhā Kanaztum Li’nfusikum Fadhūqū Kuntum Taknizūna
9:35  The Day it (i.e., their treasure) will be heated on it in the Fire of Hell, and with it will be branded their foreheads and their flanks/ sides and their backs, ˹It will be said to them,˺ “This is what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard.”

and their foreheads and their flanks/ sides and their backs will be branded with it,

9:35  (The) Day it will be heated (on it) in the Fire (of) Hell, and will be branded with it their foreheads and their flanks/ sides and their backs, “This (is) what you hoarded for yourselves, so taste what you used to hoard.”

35. Yawma yuhmaa ‘alaihaa fee naari jahannama fatukwaa bihaa jibaahuhum wa junoobuhum wa zuhooruhum haazaa maa kanaztum li anfusikum fazooqoo maa kuntum taknizoon
36. إِنَّ عِدَّةَ الشُّهُورِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ اثْنَا عَشَرَ شَهْرًا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ يَوْمَ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ مِنْهَا أَرْبَعَةٌ حُرُمٌ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ ۚ فَلَا تَظْلِمُوا فِيهِنَّ أَنْفُسَكُمْ ۚ وَقَاتِلُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ كَافَّةً كَمَا يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ كَافَّةً ۚ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَ
‘Inna `Iddata Ash-Shuhūri `Inda Al-Lahi Athnā `Ashara Shahrāan  Kitābi Al-Lahi Yawma Khalaqa As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđa Minhā ‘Arba`atun Ĥurumun Dhālika Ad-Dīnu Al-Qayyimu Falā Tažlimū Fīhinna Anfusakum Wa Qātilū Al-Mushrikīna Kāffatan Kamā Yuqātilūnakum Kāffatan Wa A`lamū Anna Al-Laha Ma`a Al-Muttaqīna
9:36  Indeed, the number of the months with Allah is twelve months in the ordinance of Allah from the Day He created the heavens and the earth; of which/ them, four are sacred. That is the upright/ established religion, so do not wrong yourselves in them (i.e., months). And fight the polytheists all together, as they fight you all together. And know that Allah is with the righteous.
36. Inna ‘iddatash shuhoori ‘indal laahis naa ‘ashara shahran fee Kitaabil laahi yawma khalaqas samaawaati wal arda minhaaa arba’atun hurum; zaalikad deenul qaiyim; falaa tazlimoo feehinna anfusakum; wa qaatilul mushrikeena kaaaffatan kamaa yuqaati loonakum kaaaffah; wa’lamooo annal laaha ma’al muttaqeen
37. إِنَّمَا النَّسِيءُ زِيَادَةٌ فِي الْكُفْرِ ۖ يُضَلُّ بِهِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُحِلُّونَهُ عَامًا وَيُحَرِّمُونَهُ عَامًا لِيُوَاطِئُوا عِدَّةَ مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ فَيُحِلُّوا مَا حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ ۚ زُيِّنَ لَهُمْ سُوءُ أَعْمَالِهِمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ
Innamā An-Nasī’u Ziyādatun  Al-Kufri Yuđallu Bihi Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Yuĥillūnahu `Āmāan Wa Yuĥarrimūnahu `Āmāan Liyuwāţi’ū `Iddata Ĥarrama Al-Lahu Fayuĥillū Ĥarrama Al-Lahu Zuyyina Lahum Sū’uA`mālihim Wa Allāhu Yahdī Al-Qawma Al-Kāfirīna
9:37  Indeed, the postponing ˹of the sacred months˺ is an increase/ addition in the disbelief, by which those who disbelieve are led ˹far˺ astray. They make it lawful one year and make it unlawful ˹another˺ year to adjust the number which Allah has made unlawful and making lawful what Allah has made unlawful, their evil deeds is made fair-seeming to them. And Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.
37. Inna man naseee’u ziyaadatun filkufri yudallu bihil lazeena kafaroo yuhil loonahoo ‘aamanw wa yuhar rimoonahoo ‘aamal liyuwaati’oo ‘iddata maa harramal laahu fayuhilloo maa harramal-laah; zuyyina lahum sooo’u a’maalihim; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmal kaafireen (section 5)
38. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَا لَكُمْ إِذَا قِيلَ لَكُمُ انْفِرُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ اثَّاقَلْتُمْ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ ۚ أَرَضِيتُمْ بِالْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ ۚ فَمَا مَتَاعُ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ إِلَّا قَلِيلٌ
Yā ‘Ayyuhā Al-LadhīnaĀmanū LakumIdhā Qīla Lakum Anfirū Sabīli Al-Lahi Aththāqaltum ‘Ilá Al-‘Arđi Arađītum Bil-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Mina Al-‘Ākhirati Famā Matā`u Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Fī Al-‘Ākhirati Illā Qalīlun
9:38  O you who believe! What is ˹the matter˺ with you when it is said to you,go forth/ march forth in the way of Allah, you cling heavily to the earth? Are you pleased with the life of the world ˹rather˺ than the Hereafter? But what is the enjoyment of the life of the world in ˹comparison to˺ the hereafter except a little.
38. Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo maa lakum izaa qeela lakumun firoo fee sabeelil laahis saaqaltum ilal ard; aradeetum bilhayaatid dunyaa minal Aakhirah; famaamataa’ul hayaatiddunyaa fil Aakhirati illaa qaleel
39. إِلَّا تَنْفِرُوا يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا وَيَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ وَلَا تَضُرُّوهُ شَيْئًا ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
‘Illā Tanfirū Yu`adhdhibkum `Adhābāan Alīmāan Wa Yastabdil Qawmāan Ghayrakum Wa Lā Tađurrūhu Shay’āan Wa Allāhu `Alá Kulli Shay’in Qadīrun
9:39  If you do not go forth/ march forth, He will punish you with a painful punishment, and will replace you with a people other than you, and you can/will not harm Him in anything. And Allah is All-Powerful on every thing.
39. Illaa tanfiroo yu’az zibkum ‘azaaban aleemanw wa yastabdil qawman ghairakum wa laa tadurroohu shai’aa; wal laahu ‘alaa kulli shai’in Qadeer
40. إِلَّا تَنْصُرُوهُ فَقَدْ نَصَرَهُ اللَّهُ إِذْ أَخْرَجَهُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا ثَانِيَ اثْنَيْنِ إِذْ هُمَا فِي الْغَارِ إِذْ يَقُولُ لِصَاحِبِهِ لَا تَحْزَنْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَنَا ۖ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ سَكِينَتَهُ عَلَيْهِ وَأَيَّدَهُ بِجُنُودٍ لَمْ تَرَوْهَا وَجَعَلَ كَلِمَةَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا السُّفْلَىٰ ۗ وَكَلِمَةُ اللَّهِ هِيَ الْعُلْيَا ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
‘Illā Tanşurūhu Faqad Naşarahu Al-Lahu ‘Idh Akhrajahu Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Thāniya Athnayni ‘Idh Humā  Al-Ghāri Idh Yaqūlu Lişāĥibihi Taĥzan Inna Al-Laha Ma`anā Fa’anzala Al-Lahu Sakīnatahu `Alayhi Wa ‘Ayyadahu Bijunūdin Lam Tarawhā Wa Ja`ala Kalimata Al-Ladhīna Kafarū As-Suflá Wa Kalimatu Al-Lahi Hiya Al-`Ulyā Wa Allāhu `Azīzun Ĥakīmun
9:40  If you ˹believers˺ do not help him (i.e., Prophet), Allah certainly helped him when those who disbelieved drove him out ˹of Mecca˺, and he was the second of  the two. When they both were in the cave, when he (i.e., Prophet) said (i.e., reassured) to his companion, “Do not grieve/ worry, Allah is indeed with us.” Then Allah sent down His tranquility/ Calm/ Calmness upon him, and supported him with forces which you did not see, and made the word of those who disbelieved the lowest, while the Word of Allah  that is the highest. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.
40. Illaa tansuroohu faqad nasarahul laahu iz akhrajahul lazeena kafaroo saaniyasnaini iz humaa filghaari iz yaqoolu lisaahibihee laa tahzan innnal laaha ma’anaa; fa anzalallaahu sakeenatahoo ‘alaihi wa aiyadahoo bijunoodil lam tarawhaa wa ja’ala kalimatal lazeena kafarus suflaa; wa Kalimatul laahi hiyal ‘ulyaa; wallaahu ‘Azeezun Hakeem
41. انْفِرُوا خِفَافًا وَثِقَالًا وَجَاهِدُوا بِأَمْوَالِكُمْ وَأَنْفُسِكُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
Anfirū Khifāfāan Wa Thiqālāan Wa Jāhidū Bi’amwālikum Wa ‘Anfusikum Sabīli Al-Lahi Dhālikum Khayrun Lakum In Kuntum Ta`lamūna
9:41˹O believers!˺ Go/ March forth, light or heavy and strive/ struggle with your wealth and your lives in the way of Allah. That is better for you, if you know/ only knew.
41. Infiroo khifaafanw wa siqaalanw wa jaahidoo bi amwaalikum wa anfusikum fee sabeelil laah; zaalikum khairul lakum in kuntum ta’lamoon
42. لَوْ كَانَ عَرَضًا قَرِيبًا وَسَفَرًا قَاصِدًا لَاتَّبَعُوكَ وَلَٰكِنْ بَعُدَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الشُّقَّةُ ۚ وَسَيَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ لَوِ اسْتَطَعْنَا لَخَرَجْنَا مَعَكُمْ يُهْلِكُونَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ
Law Kāna `Arađāan Qarībāan Wa Safarāan Qāşidāan Lāttaba`ūka Wa Lakin Ba`udat `Alayhimu Ash-Shuqqatu Wa Sayaĥlifūna Bil-Lahi Law Astaţa`nā Lakharajnā Ma`akum Yuhlikūna Anfusahum Wa Allāhu Ya`lamu Innahum Lakādhibūna
9:42  If it had been a near gain and a moderate journey, surely they would have followed you, but the distance was long for them. And they will swear by Allah, If we were able, we would have certainly come forth/out with you.They destroy their own selves/ themselves (i.e., through false oaths). And Allah knows that indeed, they are surely liars/lying.
42. Law kaana ‘aradan qareebanw wa safaran qaasidal lattaba’ooka wa laakim ba’udat ‘alaihimush shuqqah; wa sayahlifoona billaahi lawis tata’naa lakharajnaa ma’akum; yuhlikoona anfusahum wal laahu ya’lamu innahum lakaa ziboon (section 6)
43. عَفَا اللَّهُ عَنْكَ لِمَ أَذِنْتَ لَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكَ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَتَعْلَمَ الْكَاذِبِينَ
`Afā Al-Lahu `Anka Lima Adhinta Lahum Ĥattá Yatabayyana Laka Al-Ladhīna Şadaqū Wa Ta`lama Al-Kādhibīna
9:43 Allah forgive you ˹O Prophet˺! Why did you give them permission ˹to stay behind˺ until it became evident/ clear to you those who were truthful, and you knew ˹who were˺ the liars?
43. ‘Afal laahu ‘anka lima azinta lahum hattaa yatabai yana lakal lazeena sadaqoo wa ta’lamal kaazibeen
44. لَا يَسْتَأْذِنُكَ الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ أَنْ يُجَاهِدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُتَّقِينَ
Yasta’dhinuka Al-Ladhīna Yu’uminūna Bil-Lahi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-‘Ākhiri ‘An Yujāhidū Bi’amwālihim Wa ‘Anfusihim Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Bil-Muttaqīna
9:44  Those who believe in Allah and the Last Day would not ask your permission that they should struggle with their wealth and their lives. And Allah is All-Knower of the righteous.

44. Laa yastaazinukal lazeena yu’minoona billaahi wal Yawmil Aakhiri ai yujaa hidoo bi amwaalihim wa anfusihim; wallaahu ‘aleemum bilmut taqeen
45. إِنَّمَا يَسْتَأْذِنُكَ الَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَارْتَابَتْ قُلُوبُهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي رَيْبِهِمْ يَتَرَدَّدُونَ
Innamā Yasta’dhinuka Al-Ladhīna Yu’uminūna Bil-Lahi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-‘Ākhiri Wa Artābat Qulūbuhum Fahum Raybihim Yataraddadūna
9:45  Only those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day ask your permission, and their hearts are in doubts, so they in their doubts they waver/ are hesitating.
45. Innamaa yastaazinukal lazeena laa yu’minoona billaahi wal Yawmil Aakhiri wartaabat quloobuhum fahum fee raibihim yataraddadoon
46. وَلَوْ أَرَادُوا الْخُرُوجَ لَأَعَدُّوا لَهُ عُدَّةً وَلَٰكِنْ كَرِهَ اللَّهُ انْبِعَاثَهُمْ فَثَبَّطَهُمْ وَقِيلَ اقْعُدُوا مَعَ الْقَاعِدِينَ
Wa LawArādū Al-Khurūja La’a`addū Lahu `Uddatan Wa Lakin Kariha Al-Lahu Anbi`āthahum Fathabbaţahum Wa Qīla Aq`udū Ma`a Al-Qā`idīna
9:46  And if they had ˹really˺ wished/ intended to go forth/ march forth, surely they would have prepared some preparation for it. But Allah disliked their being sent, so He made them lag behind, and it was said, ˹to them˺ “Sit/Stay with those who sit/ remain behind/ stay behind.

If the phrase is being used in a military context, the translation “stay with those who remain behind”..

9:46  And if they had ˹really˺ wished/ intended to go forth/ march forth, surely they (would) have prepared for it (some) preparation. But disliked Allah their being sent, so He made them lag behind and it was said, “Sit with those who sit.
46. Wa law araadul khurooja la-‘addoo lahoo ‘uddatanw wa laakin karihal laahum bi’aasahum fasabbatahum wa qeelaq ‘udoo ma’al qaa’ideen
47. لَوْ خَرَجُوا فِيكُمْ مَا زَادُوكُمْ إِلَّا خَبَالًا وَلَأَوْضَعُوا خِلَالَكُمْ يَبْغُونَكُمُ الْفِتْنَةَ وَفِيكُمْ سَمَّاعُونَ لَهُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالظَّالِمِينَ
Law Kharajū Fīkum  Zādūkum ‘Illā Khabālāan Wa La’awđa`ū Khilālakum Yabghūnakumu Al-Fitnata Wa Fīkum Sammā`ūna Lahum Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Biž-Žālimīna
9:47  If they had gone forth with you ˹believers˺, they would not have increased you except in confusion/ trouble/ corruption/ disorder  and ˹they˺ would have been active in your midst/ among you seeking dissension for you. And ˹some˺ among you who would have listened to them. And Allah is All-Knower, of the wrongdoers.

and ˹they˺ would have been active among you seeking to discord you. 

and ˹they˺ would have been active among you seeking discord for you. 

and ˹they˺ would have been active seeking to spread discord among you
47. Law kharajoo feekum maa zaadookum illaa Khabaalanw wa la awda’oo khilaalakum yabghoona kumul fitnata wa feekum sammaa’oona lahum; wallaahu ‘aleemum biz zaalimeen
48. لَقَدِ ابْتَغَوُا الْفِتْنَةَ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَقَلَّبُوا لَكَ الْأُمُورَ حَتَّىٰ جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَظَهَرَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ وَهُمْ كَارِهُونَ
Laqadi Abtaghaw Al-Fitnata Min Qablu Wa Qallabū Laka Al-‘Umūra Ĥattá Jā’a Al-Ĥaqqu Wa Žahara Amru Al-Lahi Wa Hum Kārihūna
9:48  Indeed, they had sought/ desired dissension/ discord from before and had the matters upset/ turn upside down for you, until the truth came and the Order of Allah became manifest/clear, while they disliked it.
48. Laqadib taghawul fitnata min qablu wa qallaboo lakal umoora hattaa jaaa’al haqqu wa zahara amrul laahi wa hum kaarihoon
49. وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَقُولُ ائْذَنْ لِي وَلَا تَفْتِنِّي ۚ أَلَا فِي الْفِتْنَةِ سَقَطُوا ۗ وَإِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ لَمُحِيطَةٌ بِالْكَافِرِينَ
Wa Minhum Man Yaqūlu A’dhan  Wa Lā Taftinnī ‘Alā Fī Al-Fitnati Saqaţū Wa ‘Inna Jahannama Lamuĥīţatun Bil-Kāfirīna

9:49  And among them who says, “Grant me leave/ permission (i.e., to stay back home) and do not put me to trial/ expose me to temptation.” Surely, they have ˹already˺ fallen into the trial/ temptation. And indeed, Hell will surely surround the disbelievers.

9:49  And among them (is he) who says, “Grant leave (for) me and (do) not put me to trial.” Surely, in the trial they have fallen. And indeed, Hell will surely surround the disbelievers.
49. Wa minhum mai yaqoolu’ zal lee wa laa taftinneee; alaa fil fitnati saqatoo; wa inna Jahannama lamuheetatum bil kaafireen
50. إِنْ تُصِبْكَ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ تُصِبْكَ مُصِيبَةٌ يَقُولُوا قَدْ أَخَذْنَا أَمْرَنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَيَتَوَلَّوْا وَهُمْ فَرِحُونَ
‘In Tuşibka Ĥasanatun Tasu’uhum Wa ‘In Tuşibka Muşībatun Yaqūlū Qad Akhadhnā Amranā Min Qablu Wa Yatawallaw Wa Hum Fariĥūna
9:50  If good befalls/ happens to you, it distresses/ grieves them, but if a calamity/ disaster befalls/strikes/hits/ happen to you, they say, Verily, we took ˹precaution in˺ our matter from before (i.e., before hand).” And they turn away while they are rejoicing.
50. in tusibka hasanatun tasu’hum; wa in tusibka museebatuny yaqooloo qad akhaznaaa amranaa min qablu wa yatawallaw wa hum farihoon
51. قُلْ لَنْ يُصِيبَنَا إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا هُوَ مَوْلَانَا ۚ وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ
Qul Lan Yuşībanā Illā Kataba Al-Lahu Lanā Huwa Mawlānā Wa `Alá Al-Lahi Falyatawakkali Al-Mu’uminūna
9:51  Say,Nothing will befall/strike/ happen to us except what Allah has decreed/ destined for us, He is our Protector.And so on/upon Allah the believers put their trust.

And so the believers put their trust on/in/upon Allah.
51. Qul lany-yuseebanaaa illaa maa katabal laahu lanaa Huwa mawlaanaa; wa ‘alal laahi fal yatawakka lil mu’minoon
52. قُلْ هَلْ تَرَبَّصُونَ بِنَا إِلَّا إِحْدَى الْحُسْنَيَيْنِ ۖ وَنَحْنُ نَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمْ أَنْ يُصِيبَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِعَذَابٍ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ أَوْ بِأَيْدِينَا ۖ فَتَرَبَّصُوا إِنَّا مَعَكُمْ مُتَرَبِّصُونَ
Qul Hal Tarabbaşūna Binā ‘Illā Iĥdá Al-Ĥusnayayni Wa Naĥnu Natarabbaşu Bikum ‘An Yuşībakumu Al-Lahu Bi`adhābin Min `Indihi Aw Bi’aydīnā Fatarabbaşū ‘Innā Ma`akum Mutarabbişūna

9:52  Say, “Are you waiting for ˹anything to befall˺ us except one of the two best things: ˹victory or martyrdom˺? while we are waiting for you that Allah will afflict you with a punishment from near Him, or by our hands? So wait, indeed, we are waiting with you.”

9:52  Say, “Do you wait for us except one of the two best things: ˹victory or martyrdom˺? while we [we] await for you that Allah will afflict you with a punishment from near Him, or by our hands? So wait, indeed, we are waiting with you.”
52. Qul hal tarabbasoona binaaa illaaa ihdal husnayayni wa nahnu natrabbasu bikum ai yus eebakumul laahu bi’azaa bim min ‘indiheee aw biaidee naa fatarabbasooo innaa ma’akum mutarabbisoon
53. قُلْ أَنْفِقُوا طَوْعًا أَوْ كَرْهًا لَنْ يُتَقَبَّلَ مِنْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّكُمْ كُنْتُمْ قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ
Qul Anfiqū Ţaw`āan ‘Aw Karhāan Lan Yutaqabbala Minkum Innakum Kuntum Qawmāan Fāsiqīna
9:53  Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Spend willingly or unwillingly; it will never/not be accepted from you. Indeed, you, you are a defiantly disobedient/rebellious people .
53. Qul anfiqoo taw’an aw karhal lany yutaqabbala min kum innakum kuntum qawman faasiqeen
54. وَمَا مَنَعَهُمْ أَنْ تُقْبَلَ مِنْهُمْ نَفَقَاتُهُمْ إِلَّا أَنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا بِاللَّهِ وَبِرَسُولِهِ وَلَا يَأْتُونَ الصَّلَاةَ إِلَّا وَهُمْ كُسَالَىٰ وَلَا يُنْفِقُونَ إِلَّا وَهُمْ كَارِهُونَ
Wa Mā Mana`ahum ‘An Tuqbala Minhum Nafaqātuhum ‘Illā ‘Annahum Kafarū Bil-Lahi Wa Birasūlihi Wa Lā Ya’tūna Aş-Şalāata ‘Illā Wa Hum Kusālá Wa Lā Yunfiqūna ‘Illā Wa Hum Kārihūna
9:54 And nothing/what prevents them that their contributions will/should be accepted from them except that they disbelieve in Allah and in His Messenger, and they do not come to the prayer except while they are lazy, and they do not spend except while they are unwilling.

9:54 And not prevents them that is accepted from them their contributions except that they disbelieve in Allah and in His Messenger, and not they come (to) the prayer except while they (are) lazy, and not they spend except while they (are) unwilling.
54. Wa maa mana’ahum ‘an tuqbala minhum nafaqaatuhum illaaa annahum kafaroo billaahi wa bi Rasoolihee wa laa ya’toonas Salaata illaa wa hum kusaalaa wa laa yunfiqoona illaa wa hum kaarihoon
55. فَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُعَذِّبَهُمْ بِهَا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنْفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَافِرُونَ
Falā Tu`jibkaAmwāluhum Wa Lā Awlāduhum Innamā Yurīdu Al-Lahu Liyu`adhdhibahum Bihā Fī Al-Ĥayāati Ad-Dunyā Wa TazhaqaAnfusuhum Wa Hum Kāfirūna
9:55  So do not let their wealth and nor their children impress you. Allah only intends to punish them with it in the life of the world, and their souls should/will/to depart while they are disbelievers.
55. Falaa tu’jibka amwaaluhum wa laaa awlaaduhum; innamaa yureedul laahu liyu’az zibahum bihaa fil hayaatid dunyaa wa tazhaqa anfusuhum wa hum kaafiroon
56. وَيَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُمْ لَمِنْكُمْ وَمَا هُمْ مِنْكُمْ وَلَٰكِنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ يَفْرَقُونَ
Wa Yaĥlifūna Bil-Lahi Innahum Laminkum Wa Mā Hum Minkum Wa Lakinnahum Qawmun Yafraqūna
9:56  And they swear by Allah indeed, that they surely are of you, while they are not of you, but they are a people who are afraid.
56. Wa yahlifoona billaahi innnahum laminkum wa maa hum minkum wa laakinnahum qawmuny yafraqoon
57. لَوْ يَجِدُونَ مَلْجَأً أَوْ مَغَارَاتٍ أَوْ مُدَّخَلًا لَوَلَّوْا إِلَيْهِ وَهُمْ يَجْمَحُونَ
Law Yajidūna Malja’an ‘Aw Maghārātin ‘Aw Muddakhalāan Lawallaw Ilayhi Wa Hum Yajmaĥūna
9:57  If they could find a refuge or caves or a place to enter (and hide), surely, they would turn to it, while they run wild.
57. Law yajidoona malja’an aw maghaaraatin aw mudda khalal lawallaw ilaihi wa hum yajmahoon
58. وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَلْمِزُكَ فِي الصَّدَقَاتِ فَإِنْ أُعْطُوا مِنْهَا رَضُوا وَإِنْ لَمْ يُعْطَوْا مِنْهَا إِذَا هُمْ يَسْخَطُونَ
Wa Minhum Man Yalmizuka Fī Aş-Şadaqāti Fa’in ‘U`ţū Minhā Rađū Wa ‘In Lam Yu`ţaw Minhā ‘Idhā Hum Yaskhaţūna
9:58  And among them who criticizes you ˹O Prophet˺ concerning/ regarding the ˹distribution of˺ charities. Then if they are given from it, they are pleased; but if they are not given from it, then they are/become enraged/ angry.
58. Wa minhum mai yalmizuka fis sadaqaati fa-in u’too minhaa radoo wa illam yu’taw minhaaa izaa hum yaskhatoon
59. وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ رَضُوا مَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ سَيُؤْتِينَا اللَّهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ وَرَسُولُهُ إِنَّا إِلَى اللَّهِ رَاغِبُونَ
Wa LawAnnahum Rađū Mā Ātāhumu Al-Lahu Wa Rasūluhu Wa Qālū Ĥasbunā Al-Lahu Sayu’utīnā Al-Lahu Min Fađlihi Wa Rasūluhu ‘Innā Ilá Al-Lahi Rāghibūna
9:59  And if they were satisfied with what Allah and His Messenger gave them and said, Allah is sufficient for us, Allah will give us of His Bounty and ˹so will˺ His Messenger. Indeed, to Allah we turn our hopes.
59. Wa law annahum radoo maaa aataahumul laahu wa Rasooluhoo wa qaaloo hasbunal laahu sayu’teenallaahu min fadlihee wa Rasooluhooo innaaa ilallaahi raaghiboon (section 7)
60. إِنَّمَا الصَّدَقَاتُ لِلْفُقَرَاءِ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَالْعَامِلِينَ عَلَيْهَا وَالْمُؤَلَّفَةِ قُلُوبُهُمْ وَفِي الرِّقَابِ وَالْغَارِمِينَ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ ۖ فَرِيضَةً مِنَ اللَّهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
Innamā Aş-Şadaqātu Lilfuqarā’i Wa Al-Masākīni Wa Al-`Āmilīna `Alayhā Wa Al-Mu’uallafati Qulūbuhum Wa Fī Ar-Riqābi Wa Al-Ghārimīna Wa Fī Sabīli Al-Lahi Wa Aibni As-Sabīli Farīđatan Mina Al-Lahi Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Ĥakīmun
9:60  The charities (i.e., alms-tax) are only for the poor, and the needy and those who work to administer them (i.e., charities), and the ones inclined their hearts, and in the ˹freeing of˺ the necks, and for those in debt and in the way of Allah, and the ˹needy˺ travellers– ˹This is˺ an obligation from Allah. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

and for those whose hearts are attracted ˹towards faith˺
60. Innamas sadaqaatu lilfuqaraaa’i walmasaakeeni wal ‘aamileena ‘alaihaa wal mu’al lafati quloobuhum wa fir riqaabi walghaarimeena wa fee sabeelil laahi wabnis sabeeli fareedatam minal laah; wal laahu ‘Aleemun Hakeem

9. Surah Al-Taubah

PART 2 61 TO 90

61. وَمِنْهُمُ الَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ النَّبِيَّ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ أُذُنٌ ۚ قُلْ أُذُنُ خَيْرٍ لَكُمْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَيُؤْمِنُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنْكُمْ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْذُونَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Wa Minhumu Al-Ladhīna Yu’udhūna An-Nabīya Wa Yaqūlūna Huwa Udhunun Qul Udhunu Khayrin Lakum Yu’uminu Bil-Lahi Wa Yu’uminu Lilmu’uminīna Wa Raĥmatun Lilladhīna Āmanū Minkum Wa Al-Ladhīna Yu’udhūna Rasūla Al-Lahi Lahum `Adhābun Alīmun
9:61  And among them are those who hurt the Prophet and they say,He is an ear (i.e., listens to anyone).Say, ˹it is˺ an ear of goodness for you, he believes in Allah, and believes the believers, and is a Mercy to those who believe among you.” And those who hurt the Messenger of Allah, for them is a painful punishment.
61. Wa minhumul lazeena yu’zoonan nabiyya wa yaqooloona huwa uzun; qul uzunu khairil lakum yu’minu billaahi wa yu’minu lil mu’mineena wa rahmatul lil lazeena aamanoo minkum; wallazeena yu’zoona Rasoolal laahi lahum ‘azaabun ‘aleem
62. يَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ لَكُمْ لِيُرْضُوكُمْ وَاللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُرْضُوهُ إِنْ كَانُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ
Yaĥlifūna Bil-Lahi Lakum Liyurđūkum Wa Allāhu Wa Rasūluhu ‘Aĥaqqu ‘An Yurđūhu ‘In Kānū Mu’uminīna
9:62  They swear by Allah to you ˹believers˺ to please you. And Allah and His Messenger have more right that they should please Him, if they are believers.
62. Yahlifoona billaahi lakum liyurdookum wallaahu wa Rasooluhoo ahaqqu ai yurdoohu in kaanoo mu’mineen
63. أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوا أَنَّهُ مَنْ يُحَادِدِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَأَنَّ لَهُ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدًا فِيهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْخِزْيُ الْعَظِيمُ
Alam Ya`lamū ‘Annahu Man Yuĥādidi Al-Laha Wa Rasūlahu Fa’anna Lahu Nāra Jahannama Khālidāan Fīhā Dhālika Al-Khizyu Al-`Ažīmu
9:63  Do they not know that he who opposes Allah and His Messenger, [then] that/ So indeed, for him (i.e., he who opposes) is the Fire of Hell, in it ˹he will˺ stay forever? That is the/a great disgrace/ shame.
63. Alam ya’lamooo annahoo mai yuhaadidillaaha wa Rasoolahoo fa’anna lahoo Naara jahannama khaalidan feehaa; zaalikal khizyul ‘Azeem
64. يَحْذَرُ الْمُنَافِقُونَ أَنْ تُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْهِمْ سُورَةٌ تُنَبِّئُهُمْ بِمَا فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ ۚ قُلِ اسْتَهْزِئُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ مُخْرِجٌ مَا تَحْذَرُونَ
Yaĥdharu Al-Munāfiqūna ‘An Tunazzala `Alayhim Sūratun Tunabbi’uhum Bimā Qulūbihim Quli Astahzi’ū ‘Inna Al-Laha Mukhrijun  Taĥdharūna
9:64  The hypocrites fear that a Surah (i.e., chapter of the Quran) should be revealed about them, informing them of what is in their hearts. Say, “Mock, indeed, Allah will bring forth what you fear.”
64. Yahzarul munaafiqoona an tunaz zala ‘alaihim Sooratun tunabbi ‘uhum bimaa feequloobihim; qulistahzi’oo innal laaha mukhrijum maa tahzaroon
65. وَلَئِنْ سَأَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوضُ وَنَلْعَبُ ۚ قُلْ أَبِاللَّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ وَرَسُولِهِ كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
Wa La’in Sa’altahum Layaqūlunna Innamā Kunnā Nakhūđu Wa Nal`abu Qul Abiālllahi Wa ‘Āyātihi Wa Rasūlihi Kuntum Tastahzi’ūna
9:65  And if you ask them, they will surely say,we were only talking idly and playing. Say, Is/Was it Allah and His Verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?”
65. Wala’in sa altahum layaqoolunna innamaa kunnaa nakhoodu wa nal’ab; qul abillaahi wa ‘Aayaatihee wa Rasoolihee kuntum tastahzi’oon
66. لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا قَدْ كَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ ۚ إِنْ نَعْفُ عَنْ طَائِفَةٍ مِنْكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَائِفَةً بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مُجْرِمِينَ
Ta`tadhirū Qad Kafartum Ba`daĪmānikumIn Na`fu `An Ţā’ifatin Minkum Nu`adhdhib Ţā’ifatan Bi’annahum Kānū Mujrimīna
9:66  Make no excuse; you have indeed disbelieved after your belief. If We forgive to a group of you We will punish a group, because they were criminals/ wrongdoers/ guilty.
66. Laa ta’taziroo qad kafartum ba’da eemaanikum; in na’fu ‘an taaa’ifatin minkum nu’az zib taaa’ifatan bi annahum kaanoo mujrimeen (section 8)
67. الْمُنَافِقُونَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ مِنْ بَعْضٍ ۚ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمُنْكَرِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَقْبِضُونَ أَيْدِيَهُمْ ۚ نَسُوا اللَّهَ فَنَسِيَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ الْمُنَافِقِينَ هُمُ الْفَاسِقُونَ
Al-Munāfiqūna Wa Al-Munāfiqātu Ba`đuhum Min Ba`đin Ya’murūna Bil-Munkari Wa Yanhawna `Ani Al-Ma`rūfi Wa Yaqbiđūna Aydiyahum Nasū Al-Laha Fanasiyahum ‘Inna Al-Munāfiqīna Humu Al-Fāsiqūna
9:67  The hypocrite men and the hypocrite women, some of them are from each other (i.e., alike). They command the wrong and forbid/ prevent what is the right, and they close their hands. They forget Allah, so He has forgotten them. Indeed, the hypocrites, they are the defiantly disobedient/ rebellious.
67. Almunaafiqoona wal munaafiqaatu ba’duhum mim ba’d; yaamuroona bilmunkari wa yanhawna ‘anil ma’roofi wa yaqbidoona aidiyahum; nasul laaha fanasiyahum; innal munaafiqeena humul faasiqoon
68. وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقَاتِ وَالْكُفَّارَ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ هِيَ حَسْبُهُمْ ۚ وَلَعَنَهُمُ اللَّهُ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُقِيمٌ
Wa`ada Al-Lahu Al-Munāfiqīna Wa Al-Munāfiqāti Wa Al-Kuffāra Nāra Jahannama Khālidīna Fīhā Hiya Ĥasbuhum Wa La`anahumu Al-Lahu Wa Lahum `Adhābun Muqīmun
9:68  Allah has promised the hypocrite men, and the hypocrite women and the disbelievers, Fire of Hell, they will stay forever in it. It is sufficient for them. And Allah has cursed them, and for them is a never-ending punishment.
68. Wa’adal laahul munafiqeena wal munaafiqaati wal kuffaara naara jahannnamma khaalideena feehaa; hiya hasbuhum; wa la’annahumul laahu wa lahum ‘azaabum muqeem
69. كَالَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ كَانُوا أَشَدَّ مِنْكُمْ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرَ أَمْوَالًا وَأَوْلَادًا فَاسْتَمْتَعُوا بِخَلَاقِهِمْ فَاسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِخَلَاقِكُمْ كَمَا اسْتَمْتَعَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ بِخَلَاقِهِمْ وَخُضْتُمْ كَالَّذِي خَاضُوا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ
Kālladhīna Min Qablikum Kānū Ashadda Minkum Qūwatan Wa ‘Akthara Amwālāan Wa ‘Awlādāan Fāstamta`ū Bikhalāqihim Fāstamta`tum Bikhalāqikum Kamā Astamta`a Al-Ladhīna Min Qablikum Bikhalāqihim Wa Khuđtum Kālladhī Khāđū Ūlā’ika Ĥabiţat ‘A`māluhum Fī Ad-Dunyā Wa Al-‘Ākhirati Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Humu Al-Khāsirūna
9:69 ˹You hypocrites are˺ like those from before you. They were mightier than you in strength, and more abundant in wealth and children. So they enjoyed their share ˹in this life˺, and you have enjoyed your share like those from before you enjoyed their share, and you engaged ˹in idle talk˺ like the one who got engaged ˹in idle talk˺. It is those, their deeds are worthless in the world and in the Hereafter. And those, they are the losers.

and you engaged ˹in idle talk˺ like they who engaged ˹in idle talk˺.
69. Kallazeena min qablikum kaanoo ashadda minkum quwwatanw wa aksara amwaalanw wa awlaadan fastamta’oo bikhalaaqihim fastamta’tum bikhalaaqikum kamas tamta’al lazeena min qablikum bikhalaa qihim wa khudtum kallazee khaadooo; ulaaa’ika habitat a’maaluhum fid dunyaa wal Aakhirati wa ulaaa’ika humul khaasiroon
70. أَلَمْ يَأْتِهِمْ نَبَأُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَقَوْمِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَأَصْحَابِ مَدْيَنَ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتِ ۚ أَتَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ۖ فَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيَظْلِمَهُمْ وَلَٰكِنْ كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
‘Alam Ya’tihim Naba’u Al-Ladhīna Min Qablihim Qawmi Nūĥin Wa `Ādin Wa Thamūda Wa QawmiIbrāhīma Wa ‘Aşĥābi Madyana Wa Al-Mu’utafikāti Atat/hum Rusuluhum Bil-Bayyināti Famā Kāna Al-Lahu Liyažlimahum Wa Lakin Kānū ‘Anfusahum Yažlimūna
9:70  Has there not come to them the news of those who were from before them: the people of Nuh, and Aad, and Thamud, and the people of Abraham and the companions of Midian, and the overturned towns (i.e., people of Lot)? Their Messengers came to them with clear proofs. And Allah would have never wronged them but they were doing wrong to themselves.

And Allah was not wrong to them but they were doing wrong to themselves.

Has there not come to them the news of those who were from before them:

Has the news not come to them of those who were from before them:

9:70  Has not come to them (the) news (of) those who (were) from before them, (the) people (of) Nuh, and Aad, and Thamud, and (the) people (of) Ibrahim and (the) companions (of) Madyan, and the towns overturned? Came to them their Messengers with clear proofs. And not was Allah to wrong them but they were (to) themselves doing wrong.
70. Alam ya’tihim naba ul lazeena min qablihim qawmi Noohinw wa ‘Aadinw wa Samooda wa qawmi Ibraaheema wa ashaabi Madyana wal mu’tafikaat; atathum Rusuluhum bilbaiyinaati famaa kaanal laahu liyazlimahum wa laakin kaanooo anfusahum yazlimoon
71. وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتُ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ ۚ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَيُطِيعُونَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ سَيَرْحَمُهُمُ اللَّهُ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ
Wa Al-Mu’uminūna Wa Al-Mu’uminātu Ba`đuhum ‘Awliyā’u Ba`đin Ya’murūna Bil-Ma`rūfi Wa Yanhawna `Ani Al-Munkari Wa Yuqīmūna Aş-Şalāata Wa Yu’utūna Az-Zakāata Wa Yuţī`ūna Al-Laha Wa Rasūlahu ‘Ūlā’ika Sayarĥamuhumu Al-Lahu Inna Al-Laha `Azīzun Ĥakīmun
9:71  And the believing men and the believing women, some of them are allies/guardians/protectors of each other. They command/ encourage the right, and forbid/ prevent from the wrong, and they establish the prayer and give the alms-tax, and they obey Allah and His Messenger. Those on them Allah will have mercy. Indeed, Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Those Allah will have mercy on them

71. Wal mu’minoona wal mu’minaatu ba’duhum awliyaaa’u ba’d; ya’muroona bilma’roofi wa yanhawna ‘anil munkari wa yuqeemoonas Salaata wa yu’toonaz Zakaata wa yutee’oonal laaha wa Rasoolah; ulaaa’ika sayarhamu humul laah; innallaaha ‘Azeezun Hakeem
72. وَعَدَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا وَمَسَاكِنَ طَيِّبَةً فِي جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ ۚ وَرِضْوَانٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
Wa`ada Al-Lahu Al-Mu’uminīna Wa Al-Mu’umināti Jannātin Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-‘Anhāru Khālidīna Fīhā Wa Masākina Ţayyibatan  Jannāti `Adnin Wa Riđwānun Mina Al-Lahi ‘Akbaru Dhālika Huwa Al-Fawzu Al-`Ažīmu
9:72 Allah has promised the believing men and the believing women Gardens, from underneath which the rivers flow, they will stay forever in it and blessed/nice/ good dwellings/ homes in Gardens of everlasting bliss/Eternity (i.e., Paradise). But the pleasure of Allah is greater. That – it is the great success.
72. Wa’adal laahulmu’ mineena walmu’minaati Jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa wa masaakina taiyibatan fee Jannnaati ‘adn; wa ridwaanum minal laahi akbar; zaalika huwal fawzul ‘azeem (section 9)
73. يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ جَاهِدِ الْكُفَّارَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ وَاغْلُظْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَمَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ ۖ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ
Yā ‘Ayyuhā An-Nabīyu Jāhidi Al-Kuffāra Wa Al-Munāfiqīna Wa Aghluž `Alayhim Wa Ma’wāhum Jahannamu Wa Bi’sa Al-Maşīru
9:73  O Prophet! Struggle against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be firm with them. And their abode/home is Hell, and evil is the destination.
73. Yaaa aiyuhan Nabiyyu jaahidil kuffaara walmunaafiqeena waghluz ‘alaihim; wa maawaahum jahannnamu wa bi’sal maseer
74. يَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ مَا قَالُوا وَلَقَدْ قَالُوا كَلِمَةَ الْكُفْرِ وَكَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِسْلَامِهِمْ وَهَمُّوا بِمَا لَمْ يَنَالُوا ۚ وَمَا نَقَمُوا إِلَّا أَنْ أَغْنَاهُمُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ ۚ فَإِنْ يَتُوبُوا يَكُ خَيْرًا لَهُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ يَتَوَلَّوْا يُعَذِّبْهُمُ اللَّهُ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ۚ وَمَا لَهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
Yaĥlifūna Bil-Lahi Qālū Wa Laqad Qālū Kalimata Al-Kufri Wa Kafarū Ba`daIslāmihim Wa Hammū Bimā Lam Yanālū Wa Mā Naqamū ‘Illā ‘AnAghnāhumu Al-Lahu Wa Rasūluhu Min Fađlihi Fa’in Yatūbū Yaku Khayrāan Lahum Wa ‘In Yatawallaw Yu`adhdhibhumu Al-Lahu `Adhābāan Alīmāan Fī Ad-Dunyā Wa Al-‘Ākhirati Wa Mā Lahum Fī Al-‘Arđi Min Wa Līyin Wa Lā Naşīrin

9:74  They swear by Allah that they said nothing ˹blasphemous˺, while certainly they said the word of the disbelief and disbelieved after their ˹accepting of/ coming to˺ Islam, and plotted of what they could not attain/carry out. And they were not resentful except that Allah and His Messenger had enriched them of His Bounty. So if they repent, it is better for them, and if they turn away, Allah will punish them with a painful punishment in the world and in the Hereafter. And there will not be for them in the earth any protector and nor a/any helper.

9:74  They swear by Allah nothing (that) they said , while certainly they said (the) word (of) the disbelief and disbelieved after their (pretense of) Islam, and planned [of] what not they could attain. And not they were resentful except that had enriched them Allah and His Messenger of His Bounty. So if they repent, it is better for them, and if they turn away, will punish them Allah (with) a punishment painful, in the world and (in) the Hereafter. And not for them in the earth any protector and not a helper.
74. Yahlifoona billaahi ma qaaloo wa laqad qaaloo kalimatal kufri wa kafaroo ba’da Islaamihim wa hammoo bimaa lam yanaaloo; wa maa naqamooo illaaa an aghnaa humullaahu wa Rasooluhoo min fadlih; fainy yatooboo yaku khairal lahum wa iny yatawal law yu’az zibhumullaahu ‘azaaban aleeman fiddunyaa wal Aakhirah; wamaa lahum fil ardi minw waliyyinw wa laa naseer
75. وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ عَاهَدَ اللَّهَ لَئِنْ آتَانَا مِنْ فَضْلِهِ لَنَصَّدَّقَنَّ وَلَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Wa MinhuMan `Āhada Al-Laha La’inĀtānā Min Fađlihi Lanaşşaddaqanna Wa Lanakūnanna Mina Aş-Şāliĥīna
9:75 And among them ˹are some˺ who made a covenant/vow/ pledge with/to Allah, ˹saying˺If He gives us of His bounty, surely we will give charity and surely we will be among the righteous.”
75. Wa minhum man ‘aaha dal laaha la’in aataanaa min fadlihee lanas saddaqanna wa lanakoonanna minassaaliheen
76. فَلَمَّا آتَاهُمْ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ بَخِلُوا بِهِ وَتَوَلَّوْا وَهُمْ مُعْرِضُونَ
Falammā Ātāhum Min Fađlihi Bakhilū Bihi Wa Tawallaw Wa Hum Mu`riđūna
9:76  But when He gave them of His Bounty, they became stingy with it and turned away while they (were) averse/ refused.
76. Falammaaa aataahum min fadlihee bakhiloo bihee wa tawallaw wa hum mu’ridoon
77. فَأَعْقَبَهُمْ نِفَاقًا فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهُ بِمَا أَخْلَفُوا اللَّهَ مَا وَعَدُوهُ وَبِمَا كَانُوا يَكْذِبُونَ
Fa’a`qabahum Nifāqāan  Qulūbihim ‘Ilá Yawmi Yalqawnahu Bimā Akhlafū Al-Laha Wa`adūhu Wa Bimā Kānū Yakdhibūna
9:77  So He punished/caused them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the day when they will meet Him, because they broke ˹the promise to˺ Allah what they had promised Him, and because they used to lie.
77. Fa a’qabahum nifaaqan fee quloobihim ilaa Yawmi yalqaw nahoo bimaaa akhlaful laaha maa wa’adoohu wa bimaa kaanoo yakhziboon
78. أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ سِرَّهُمْ وَنَجْوَاهُمْ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ
Alam Ya`lamū ‘Anna Al-Laha Ya`lamu Sirrahum Wa Najwāhum Wa ‘Anna Al-Laha `Allāmu Al-Ghuyūbi
9:78  Do they not know that Allah knows their secrets and their secret/private conversations, and that Allah is All-Knower of the unseen?
78. Alam ya’lamooo annal laaha ya’lamu sirrahum wa najwaahum wa annal laaha ‘Allaamul Ghuyoob
79. الَّذِينَ يَلْمِزُونَ الْمُطَّوِّعِينَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي الصَّدَقَاتِ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ إِلَّا جُهْدَهُمْ فَيَسْخَرُونَ مِنْهُمْ ۙ سَخِرَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Al-Ladhīna Yalmizūna Al-Muţţawwi`īna Mina Al-Mu’uminīna Aş-Şadaqāti Wa Al-Ladhīna Yajidūna Illā Juhdahum Fayaskharūna Minhum Sakhira Al-Lahu Minhum Wa Lahum `Adhābun Alīmun
9:79  Those (i.e., hypocrites) who criticize the volunteers among the believers in their charitable donations, and ˹ridicule˺ those (i.e., believers) who find nothing ˹to give˺ except their own efforts, so they (i.e., hypocrites) ridicule them (i.e., believers), Allah will ridicule them (i.e., hypocrites), and for them is a painful punishment.

Those who ridicule the volunteers among the believers in their charitable donations, and those who only find their own efforts and mock them.”

9:79  Those who criticize the ones who give willingly of the believers concerning the charities, and those who not find except their effort, so they ridicule them, Allah will ridicule them, and for them is a painful punishment.
79. Allazeena yalmizoonal mut tawwi’eena minalmu’mineena fis sadaqaati wallazeena laa yajidoona illaa juhdahum fayaskharoona minhum sakhiral laahu minhum wa lahum azaabun aleem
80. اسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ أَوْ لَا تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ إِنْ تَسْتَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً فَلَنْ يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْفَاسِقِينَ
Astaghfir Lahum ‘Aw Tastaghfir Lahum ‘In Tastaghfir Lahum Sab`īna Marratan Falan Yaghfira Al-Lahu Lahum Dhālika Bi’annahum Kafarū Bil-Lahi Wa Rasūlihi Wa Allāhu Yahdī Al-Qawma Al-Fāsiqīna
9:80 ˹whether you O Prophet˺ ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them. Even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah will never forgive them. That is because they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and Allah does not guide the rebellious people.
80. istaghfir lahum aw laa tastaghfir lahum in tastaghfir lahum sab’eena marratan falany yaghfiral laahu lahum; zaalika bi annahum kafaroo billaahi wa Rasoolih; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmal faasiqeen (section 10)
81. فَرِحَ الْمُخَلَّفُونَ بِمَقْعَدِهِمْ خِلَافَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَكَرِهُوا أَنْ يُجَاهِدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَقَالُوا لَا تَنْفِرُوا فِي الْحَرِّ ۗ قُلْ نَارُ جَهَنَّمَ أَشَدُّ حَرًّا ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَفْقَهُونَ
Fariĥa Al-Mukhallafūna Bimaq`adihim Khilāfa Rasūli Al-Lahi Wa Karihū ‘An Yujāhidū Bi’amwālihim Wa ‘Anfusihim Sabīli Al-Lahi Wa Qālū Tanfirū Fī Al-Ĥarri Qul Nāru Jahannama Ashaddu Ĥarrāan Law Kānū Yafqahūna
9:81  Those (i.e., hypocrites) who remained behind rejoice/ were glad/happy in their staying behind ˹in defiance to/of˺ the Messenger of Allah, and they disliked/hated to struggle with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah and they said ˹to one another˺, “Do not go/march forth in the heat.” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “The Fire of Hell is more intense in heat.” If only they could understand.
81. Farihal mukhallafoona bimaq’adihim khilaafa Rasoolil laahi wa karihooo ai yujaahidoo bi amwaalihim wa anfusihim fee sabeelil laahi wa qaaloo laa tanfiroo fil harr; qul Naaru jahannama ashaddu harraa; law kaanoo yafqahoon
82. فَلْيَضْحَكُوا قَلِيلًا وَلْيَبْكُوا كَثِيرًا جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
Falyađĥakū Qalīlāan Wa Līabkū Kathīrāan Jazā’an Bimā Kānū Yaksibūna
9:82  So let them laugh a little, and let them weep/ and they will weep much as a reward for what they used to earn.
82. Falyadhakoo qaleelanw walyabkoo kaseeran jazaaa’an bimaa kaanoo yaksiboon
83. فَإِنْ رَجَعَكَ اللَّهُ إِلَىٰ طَائِفَةٍ مِنْهُمْ فَاسْتَأْذَنُوكَ لِلْخُرُوجِ فَقُلْ لَنْ تَخْرُجُوا مَعِيَ أَبَدًا وَلَنْ تُقَاتِلُوا مَعِيَ عَدُوًّا ۖ إِنَّكُمْ رَضِيتُمْ بِالْقُعُودِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ فَاقْعُدُوا مَعَ الْخَالِفِينَ
Fa’in Raja`aka Al-Lahu ‘Ilá Ţā’ifatin Minhum Fāsta’dhanūka Lilkhurūji Faqul Lan Takhrujū Ma`iya Abadāan Wa Lan Tuqātilū Ma`iya `Adūwāan Innakum Rađītum Bil-Qu`ūdi Awwala Marratin Fāq`udū Ma`a Al-Khālifīna
9:83  Then if Allah returns you ˹O Prophet˺ to a group of them, and they ask you permission to go out/forth ˹with you˺, then say,You will never ever come out/ march forth with me and you will never fight any enemy with me. Indeed, you were satisfied with sitting ˹behind˺ the first time, so sit with those who stay behind.

Never will you come out with me ever and never will you fight with me any enemy.

83. Fa ir raja’akal laahu ilaa taaa’ifatim minhum fastaaa zanooka lilkhurooji faqul lan takhrujoo ma’iya abadanw wa lan tuqaatiloo ma’iya ‘aduwwan innakum radeetum bilqu’oodi awwala marratin faq’udoo ma’al khaalifeen
84. وَلَا تُصَلِّ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ مِنْهُمْ مَاتَ أَبَدًا وَلَا تَقُمْ عَلَىٰ قَبْرِهِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَفَرُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ فَاسِقُونَ
Wa Lā Tuşalli `Alá Aĥadin Minhum Māta Abadāan Wa Lā Taqum `Alá Qabrihi Innahum Kafarū Bil-Lahi Wa Rasūlihi Wa Mātū Wa Hum Fāsiqūna
9:84  And you ˹O Prophet˺ do not pray ˹funeral prayers˺ for any of them who dies, ever, and you do not stand by his grave. Indeed, they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were defiantly disobedient/ rebellious.
84. Wa laa tusalli ‘alaaa ahadim minhum maata abadanw wa laa taqum ‘alaa qabriheee innahum kafaroo billaahi wa Rasoolihee wa maatoo wa hum faasiqoon
85. وَلَا تُعْجِبْكَ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَأَوْلَادُهُمْ ۚ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ أَنْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ بِهَا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَتَزْهَقَ أَنْفُسُهُمْ وَهُمْ كَافِرُونَ
Wa Lā Tu`jibkaAmwāluhum Wa ‘AwlāduhumInnamā Yurīdu Al-Lahu ‘An Yu`adhdhibahum Bihā  Ad-Dunyā Wa TazhaqaAnfusuhum Wa Hum Kāfirūna
9:85  And do not let their wealth and their children impress you ˹O Prophet˺. Allah only intends to punish them with it in the world, and their souls will depart while they are disbelievers.
85. Wa laa tu’jibka amwaaluhum wa awlaaduhum; innamaa yureedul laahu any yu’azzibahum bihaa fid dunyaa wa tazhaqa anfusuhum wa hum kaafiroon
86. وَإِذَا أُنْزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ أَنْ آمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَجَاهِدُوا مَعَ رَسُولِهِ اسْتَأْذَنَكَ أُولُو الطَّوْلِ مِنْهُمْ وَقَالُوا ذَرْنَا نَكُنْ مَعَ الْقَاعِدِينَ
Wa ‘Idhā ‘Unzilat Sūratun An Āminū Bil-Lahi Wa Jāhidū Ma`a Rasūlihi Asta’dhanaka Ūlū Aţ-Ţawli Minhum Wa Qālū Dharnā Nakun Ma`a Al-Qā`idīna
9:86 And when a Surah is revealed stating that; “Believe in Allah and struggle with His Messenger, the men of wealth among them ask your permission and said/say,Leave us, to be with those who sit (i.e., stay behind).
86. Wa izaaa unzilat Sooratun an aaminoo billaahi wa jaahidoo ma’a Rasoolihis taazanaka uluttawli minhum wa qaaloo zarnaa nakum ma’alqaa ‘ideen
87. رَضُوا بِأَنْ يَكُونُوا مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِ وَطُبِعَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ
Rađū Bi’an Yakūnū Ma`a Al-Khawālifi Wa Ţubi`a `Alá Qulūbihim Fahum Yafqahūna
9:87  They were satisfied to be with those who stay behind, and their hearts were sealed over, so they do not understand.
87. Radoo bi ai yakoonoo ma’al khawaalifi wa tubi’a ‘alaa quloobihim fahum laa yafqahoon
88. لَٰكِنِ الرَّسُولُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ جَاهَدُوا بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنْفُسِهِمْ ۚ وَأُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمُ الْخَيْرَاتُ ۖ وَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
Lakini Ar-Rasūlu Wa Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Ma`ahu Jāhadū Bi’amwālihim Wa ‘Anfusihim Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Lahumu Al-Khayrātu Wa ‘Ūlā’ika Humu Al-Mufliĥūna
9:88  But the Messenger and those who believed with him struggled with their wealth and their lives. And those, for them are the good things, and those they are the successful ones.

and those are they the successful ones.

88. Laakinir Rasoolu wal lazeena aamanoo ma’ahoo jaahadoo bi amwaalihim wa anfusihim; wa ulaaa’ika lahumul khairaatu wa ulaaa’ika humul muflihoon
89. أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
‘A`adda Al-Lahu Lahum Jannātin Tajrī Min Taĥtihā Al-‘Anhāru Khālidīna Fīhā Dhālika Al-Fawzu Al-`Ažīmu
9:89  Allah has prepared for them Gardens from underneath which the rivers flows, they will stay forever in it. That is the great success.
89. A’addal laahu lahum Jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa; zaalikal fawzul ‘azeem (section 11)
90. وَجَاءَ الْمُعَذِّرُونَ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ لِيُؤْذَنَ لَهُمْ وَقَعَدَ الَّذِينَ كَذَبُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۚ سَيُصِيبُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Wa Jā’a Al-Mu`adhdhirūna Mina Al-‘A`rābi Liyu’udhana Lahum Wa Qa`ada Al-Ladhīna Kadhabū Al-Laha Wa Rasūlahu Sayuşību Al-Ladhīna Kafarū Minhum `AdhābunAlīmun
9:90  And the ones who make excuses among the bedouins/nomadic Arabs came, that permission be granted to them, and those who lied to Allah and His Messenger sat behind. Those who disbelieved among them will be afflicted with a painful punishment.
90. Wa jaaa’al mu’az ziroona minal A’raabi liyu’zana lahum wa qa’adal lazeena kazabul laaha wa Rasoolah; sayuseebul lazeena kafaroo minhum ‘azaabun aleem

PART 2 90 TO 129

91. لَيْسَ عَلَى الضُّعَفَاءِ وَلَا عَلَى الْمَرْضَىٰ وَلَا عَلَى الَّذِينَ لَا يَجِدُونَ مَا يُنْفِقُونَ حَرَجٌ إِذَا نَصَحُوا لِلَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ ۚ مَا عَلَى الْمُحْسِنِينَ مِنْ سَبِيلٍ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
Laysa `Alá Ađ-Đu`afā’i Wa Lā `Alá Al-Marđá Wa Lā `Alá Al-Ladhīna Yajidūna Yunfiqūna Ĥarajun Idhā Naşaĥū Lillahi Wa Rasūlihi `Alá Al-Muĥsinīna Min Sabīlin Wa Allāhu Ghafūrun Raĥīmun

9:91 There is not any blame on the weak, and nor on the sick, and nor on those who do not find anything what they can spend, if they are sincere to Allah and His Messenger. There is not in any way blame on the good-doers. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

On the good-doers there is not in any way blame.

9:91  Not on the weak and not on the sick and not on those who not they find what they (can) spend any blame if they are sincere to Allah and His Messenger. Not (is) on the good-doers any way blame. And Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
91. Laisa ‘alad du’aafaaa’i wa laa ‘alal mardaa wa laa ‘alal lazeena laa yajidoona maa yunfiqoona harajun izaa nasahoo lillaahi wa Rasoolih; maa ‘alal muhsineena min sabeel; wallaahu Ghafoorur Raheem
92. وَلَا عَلَى الَّذِينَ إِذَا مَا أَتَوْكَ لِتَحْمِلَهُمْ قُلْتَ لَا أَجِدُ مَا أَحْمِلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ تَوَلَّوْا وَأَعْيُنُهُمْ تَفِيضُ مِنَ الدَّمْعِ حَزَنًا أَلَّا يَجِدُوا مَا يُنْفِقُونَ
Wa Lā `Alá Al-Ladhīna ‘Idhā  ‘Atawka Litaĥmilahum Qulta  ‘Ajidu  ‘Aĥmilukum `Alayhi Tawallaw Wa ‘A`yunuhum Tafīđu Mina Ad-Dam`i Ĥazanāan Allā Yajidū Yunfiqūna
9:92  And nor ˹is there any blame˺ on those who, when that they came to you ˹O Prophet˺ that you provide them with mounts, you said ˹to them˺, I can not find what to mount you on. They turned back with their eyes flowing from the tears of sorrow that they could find nothing what they could spend.
92. Wa laa ‘alal lazeena izaa maaa atawka litahmilahum qulta laaa ajidu maaa ahmilukum ‘alaihi tawallaw wa a’yunuhum tafeedu minaddam’i hazanan allaa yajidoo maa yunfiqoon (End Juz 10)
93. إِنَّمَا السَّبِيلُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ يَسْتَأْذِنُونَكَ وَهُمْ أَغْنِيَاءُ ۚ رَضُوا بِأَنْ يَكُونُوا مَعَ الْخَوَالِفِ وَطَبَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Innamā As-Sabīlu `Alá Al-Ladhīna Yasta’dhinūnaka Wa Hum ‘Aghniyā’u Rađū Bi’an Yakūnū Ma`a Al-Khawālifi Wa Ţaba`a Al-Lahu `Alá Qulūbihim Fahum Ya`lamūna
9:93  The way/cause of blame is only on those who ask your permission while they are rich. They are satisfied to be with those who stay behind, and Allah sealed over their hearts, so they do not know/realize/understand.
93. Innamas sabeelu ‘alal lazeena yasta’zinoonaka wa hum aghniyaaa’; radoo biany-yakoonoo ma’al khawaalifi wa taba’al laahu ‘alaa quloobihim fahum laa ya’lamoon
94. يَعْتَذِرُونَ إِلَيْكُمْ إِذَا رَجَعْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ ۚ قُلْ لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا لَنْ نُؤْمِنَ لَكُمْ قَدْ نَبَّأَنَا اللَّهُ مِنْ أَخْبَارِكُمْ ۚ وَسَيَرَى اللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ ثُمَّ تُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Ya`tadhirūnaIlaykum ‘Idhā Raja`tumIlayhim Qul  Ta`tadhirū Lan Nu’umina Lakum Qad Nabba’anā Al-Lahu Min Akhbārikum Wa Sayará Al-Lahu `Amalakum Wa Rasūluhu Thumma Turaddūna ‘Ilá `Ālimi Al-Ghaybi Wa Ash-Shahādati Fayunabbi’ukum Bimā Kuntum Ta`malūna
9:94  They will make excuses to you when you have returned to them. Say, ˹to them˺ “Do not make excuse/s, we will never believe you. Verily, Allah has already informed us of your news, and Allah and His Messenger will see your ˹future˺ deeds. Then you will be brought back to the Knower of the unseen and the seen, then He will inform you of what you used to do.

Allah has already informed us of your news,

94. Ya’taziroona ilaikum izaa raja’tum ilaihim; qul laa ta’taziroo lan nu’mina lakum qad nabba annal laahu min akhbaarikum; wa sa yaral laahu ‘amalakum wa Rasooluhoo thumma turaddoona ilaa ‘Aalimil Ghaibi washshahaadati fa yunabbi’ukum bimaa kuntum ta’maloon
95. سَيَحْلِفُونَ بِاللَّهِ لَكُمْ إِذَا انْقَلَبْتُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لِتُعْرِضُوا عَنْهُمْ ۖ فَأَعْرِضُوا عَنْهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ رِجْسٌ ۖ وَمَأْوَاهُمْ جَهَنَّمُ جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
Sayaĥlifūna Bil-Lahi Lakum Idhā Anqalabtum Ilayhim Litu`riđū `Anhum Fa’a`riđū `Anhum Innahum Rijsun Wa Ma’wāhum Jahannamu Jazā’an Bimā Kānū Yaksibūna

9:95  They will swear to you by Allah when you return to them, so that you may turn away from them. So turn away from them, indeed, they are impure and their home is Hell, a recompense/reward for what they used to earn.

96. يَحْلِفُونَ لَكُمْ لِتَرْضَوْا عَنْهُمْ ۖ فَإِنْ تَرْضَوْا عَنْهُمْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَرْضَىٰ عَنِ الْقَوْمِ الْفَاسِقِينَ
Yaĥlifūna Lakum Litarđaw `Anhum Fa’in Tarđaw `Anhum Fa’inna Al-Laha Yarđá `Ani Al-Qawmi Al-Fāsiqīna
9:96  They will swear to you so that you may be pleased with them. But if you are pleased with them, then indeed, Allah is not pleased with the defiantly disobedient/ rebellious people.
96. Yahlifoona lakum litardaw ‘anhum fa in tardaw ‘anhum fa innal laaha laa yardaa ‘anil qawmil faasiqeen
97. الْأَعْرَابُ أَشَدُّ كُفْرًا وَنِفَاقًا وَأَجْدَرُ أَلَّا يَعْلَمُوا حُدُودَ مَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
Al-‘A`rābuAshaddu Kufrāan Wa Nifāqāan Wa ‘Ajdaru Allā Ya`lamū Ĥudūda Mā Anzala Al-Lahu `Alá Rasūlihi Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Ĥakīmun
9:97  The bedouins/ desert Arabs (i.e., around medina) are stronger in disbelief and hypocrisy, and more likely that they do not know the limits of what Allah has revealed to His Messenger. And Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise.
97. Al A’raabu ashaddu kufranw wa nifaaqanw wa ajdaru allaa ya’lamoo hudooda maaa anzalal laahu ‘alaa Rasoolih; wallaahu ‘Aleemun Hakeem
98. وَمِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ مَنْ يَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنْفِقُ مَغْرَمًا وَيَتَرَبَّصُ بِكُمُ الدَّوَائِرَ ۚ عَلَيْهِمْ دَائِرَةُ السَّوْءِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Wa Mina Al-‘A`rābi Man Yattakhidhu Yunfiqu Maghramāan Wa Yatarabbaşu Bikumu Ad-Dawā’ira `Alayhim Dā’iratu As-Saw’i Wa Allāhu Samī`un `Alīmun
9:98  And among the bedouins/ desert Arabs ˹are those˺ who takes/consider what they spend/ donate (in the way of Allah) to be a loss, and they wait the turns ˹of misfortune˺ for you. Upon them will be the turn of the evil. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.
98. Wa minal A’raabi mai yattakhizu maa yunfiqu maghramanw wa yatarabbasu bikumud dawaaa’ir; alaihim daaa’iratus saw’; wallaahu Samee’un ‘Aleem
99. وَمِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ مَنْ يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَيَتَّخِذُ مَا يُنْفِقُ قُرُبَاتٍ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَصَلَوَاتِ الرَّسُولِ ۚ أَلَا إِنَّهَا قُرْبَةٌ لَهُمْ ۚ سَيُدْخِلُهُمُ اللَّهُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
Wa Mina Al-‘A`rābi Man Yu’uminu Bil-Lahi Wa Al-Yawmi Al-‘Ākhiri Wa Yattakhidhu Yunfiqu Qurubātin `Inda Al-Lahi Wa Şalawāti Ar-Rasūli ‘Alā Innahā Qurbatun Lahum Sayudkhiluhumu Al-Lahu Raĥmatihi ‘Inna Al-Laha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun
9:99  But among the bedouins/ desert Arabs ˹are those˺ who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and takes/consider what they spend as means of nearness/coming closer with/to Allah and ˹receiving˺ the payers of the Messenger. No doubt! Indeed, it is a means of nearness/coming closer for them. Allah will admit them to His Mercy. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
99. Wa minal A’raabi mai yu’minu billaahi wal yawmil aakhiri wa yattakhizu maa yunfiqu qurubaatin ‘indal laahi wa salawaatir Rasool; ‘alaaa innahaa qurbatul lahum; sayudkhilu humul laahu fee rahmatih; innal laaha Ghafoorur Raheem (section 12)
100. وَالسَّابِقُونَ الْأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُمْ بِإِحْسَانٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتٍ تَجْرِي تَحْتَهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
Wa As-Sābiqūna Al-‘Awwalūna Mina Al-Muhājirīna Wa Al-‘Anşāri Wa Al-Ladhīna Attaba`ūhum Bi’iĥsānin Rađiya Al-Lahu `Anhum Wa Rađū `Anhu Wa ‘A`adda Lahum Jannātin Tajrī Taĥtahā Al-‘Anhāru Khālidīna Fīhā Abadāan Dhālika Al-Fawzu Al-`Ažīmu
9:100  And ˹as for˺ the foremost, the first among the Emigrants and the Helpers and those who followed them in righteousness, Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. And He has prepared for them Gardens underneath which the rivers flows, they will stay in it forever and ever. That is the great success.
100. Was saabiqoonal awwaloona minal Muhaajireena wal Ansaari wallazeenat taba’oo hum bi ihsaanir radiyal laahu ‘anhum wa radoo ‘anhu wa a’adda lahum jannaatin tajree tahtahal anhaaru khaalideena feehaaa abadaa; zaalikal fawzul ‘azeem
101. وَمِمَّنْ حَوْلَكُمْ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ مُنَافِقُونَ ۖ وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ ۖ مَرَدُوا عَلَى النِّفَاقِ لَا تَعْلَمُهُمْ ۖ نَحْنُ نَعْلَمُهُمْ ۚ سَنُعَذِّبُهُمْ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَذَابٍ عَظِيمٍ
Wa Mimman Ĥawlakum Mina Al-‘A`rābi Munāfiqūna Wa MinAhli Al-Madīnati Maradū `Alá An-Nifāqi Ta`lamuhum Naĥnu Na`lamuhum Sanu`adhdhibuhum Marratayni Thumma Yuraddūna ‘Ilá `Adhābin `Ažīmin
9:101  And among those around you ˹believers˺ of the bedouins/ desert Arabs are hypocrites and ˹so are some˺ among/from/of the people of the Madinah. They persist in the hypocrisy. You ˹O Prophet˺ do not know them; We know them. We will punish them twice ˹in this world˺ then they will be returned/brought back to ˹to their Lord for˺ a great punishment.

9:101  And among those around you of the bedouins (are) hypocrites and (also) from people (of) the Madinah. They persist in the hypocrisy, not you know them, We [We] know them. We will punish them twice then they will be returned to a punishment great.

101. Wa mimmann hawlakum minal A’raabi munaafiqoona wa min ahlil Madeenati maradoo ‘alan nifaaq, laa ta’lamuhum nahnu na’lamuhum; sanu’azzibuhum marrataini summa yuraddoona ilaa ‘azaabin ‘azeem
102. وَآخَرُونَ اعْتَرَفُوا بِذُنُوبِهِمْ خَلَطُوا عَمَلًا صَالِحًا وَآخَرَ سَيِّئًا عَسَى اللَّهُ أَنْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
Wa ‘Ākharūna A`tarafū Bidhunūbihim Khalaţū `Amalāan Şāliĥāan Wa ‘Ākhara Sayyi’āan `Asá Al-Lahu ‘An Yatūba `Alayhim Inna Al-Laha Ghafūrun Raĥīmun
9:102  And others have acknowledged/confessed/ admitted their sins. They had mixed a righteous deed with another evil ˹deed˺. It may well be that Allah will turn to them ˹in mercy˺. Indeed, Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

They had mixed a righteous deed with another that was evil. Perhaps that Allah will turn to them ˹in mercy˺.

102. Wa aakharoo na’tarafoo bizunoobihim khalatoo ‘amalan saalihanw wa aakhara saiyi’an ‘asal laahu ‘any yatooba ‘alaihim; innal laaha Ghafoorur Raheem
103. خُذْ مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ صَدَقَةً تُطَهِّرُهُمْ وَتُزَكِّيهِمْ بِهَا وَصَلِّ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّ صَلَاتَكَ سَكَنٌ لَهُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
Khudh Min Amwālihim Şadaqatan Tuţahhiruhum Wa Tuzakkīhim Bihā Wa Şalli `Alayhim Inna Şalātaka Sakanun Lahum Wa Allāhu Samī`un `Alīmun
9:103  Take from their wealth ˹O Prophet˺ charity, to purify them and cleanse them by it, and bless/pray upon/for them. Indeed, your blessings/ prayers is ˹a source of˺ comfort for them. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

103. Khuz min amwaalihim sadaqatan tutahhiruhum wa tuzakkeehim bihaa wa salli ‘alaihim inna salaataka sakanul lahum; wallaahu Samee’un ‘Aleem
104. أَلَمْ يَعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ يَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهِ وَيَأْخُذُ الصَّدَقَاتِ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ
‘Alam Ya`lamū Anna Al-Laha Huwa Yaqbalu At-Tawbata `An `Ibādihi Wa Ya’khudhu Aş-Şadaqāti Wa ‘Anna Al-Laha Huwa At-Tawwābu Ar-Raĥīmu
9:104  Do they not know that Allah, He accepts the repentance from His servants and takes ˹their˺ charities, and that Allah, He is the Acceptor of Repentance, the Most Merciful.
104. Alam ya’lamooo annal laaha huwa yaqbalut tawbata ‘an ibaadihee wa ya’khuzus sadaqaati wa annal laaha huwat Tawwaabur Raheem
105. وَقُلِ اعْمَلُوا فَسَيَرَى اللَّهُ عَمَلَكُمْ وَرَسُولُهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۖ وَسَتُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
Wa Quli A`malū Fasayará Al-Lahu `Amalakum Wa Rasūluhu Wa Al-Mu’uminūna Wa Saturaddūna ‘Ilá `Ālimi Al-Ghaybi Wa Ash-Shahādati Fayunabbi’ukum Bimā Kuntum Ta`malūna
9:105  And say ˹to them, O Prophet˺,Do ˹as you will˺, then Allah will see your deeds and ˹so will˺ His Messenger, and the believers. And you will be brought back/ returned to the Knower of the unseen and the seen, then He will inform you of what you used to do.
105. Wa qul i’maloo fasayaral laahu ‘amalakum wa Rasooluhoo wal mu’minoon; wa saturaddoona ilaa ‘Aalimil Ghaibi washshahaadati fa yunabbi’ukum bimaa kuntum ta’maloon
106. وَآخَرُونَ مُرْجَوْنَ لِأَمْرِ اللَّهِ إِمَّا يُعَذِّبُهُمْ وَإِمَّا يَتُوبُ عَلَيْهِمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
Wa ‘Ākharūna Murjawna Li’amri Al-Lahi ‘Immā Yu`adhdhibuhum Wa ‘Immā Yatūbu `Alayhim Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Ĥakīmun
9:106  And ˹there are˺ others ˹who are˺ deferred/ waiting for the Command of Allahwhether He ˹Allah˺ will punish them or He will turn to them ˹in mercy˺. And Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise.
106. Wa aakharoona murjawna li amril laahi immaa yu’azzibuhum wa immaa yatoobu ‘alaihim; wallaahu ‘Aleemun Hakeem
107. وَالَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مَسْجِدًا ضِرَارًا وَكُفْرًا وَتَفْرِيقًا بَيْنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَإِرْصَادًا لِمَنْ حَارَبَ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۚ وَلَيَحْلِفُنَّ إِنْ أَرَدْنَا إِلَّا الْحُسْنَىٰ ۖ وَاللَّهُ يَشْهَدُ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ
Wa Al-Ladhīna Attakhadhū Masjidāan Đirārāan Wa Kufrāan Wa Tafrīqāan Bayna Al-Mu’uminīna Wa ‘Irşādāan Liman Ĥāraba Al-Laha Wa Rasūlahu Min Qablu Wa Layaĥlifunna ‘In Aradnā ‘Illā Al-Ĥusná Wa Allāhu Yash/hadu Innahum Lakādhibūna

9:107  And those ˹hypocrites˺ who take/set up a mosque ˹to cause˺ harm and disbelief, and division among the believers, and as a base for whoever fought ˹against˺ Allah and His Messenger from before. And surely they will swear, “we do not wish except the best,but Allah bears witness indeed, they are surely liars.

9:107  And those ˹hypocrites˺ who take/set up a masjid ˹for causing˺ harm and (for promoting) disbelief, and (for causing) division among the believers, and (as) a station for whoever warred (against) Allah and His Messenger from before. And surely they will swear, “Not we wish except the good,but Allah bears witness indeed, they are surely liars.
107. Wallazeenat takhazoo masjidan diraaranw wa kufranw wa tafreeqan bainal mu’mineena wa irsaadal liman haarabal laaha wa Rasoolahoo min qabl; wa la yahlifunna in aradnaaa illal husnaa wallaahu yash hadu innahum lakaaziboon
108. لَا تَقُمْ فِيهِ أَبَدًا ۚ لَمَسْجِدٌ أُسِّسَ عَلَى التَّقْوَىٰ مِنْ أَوَّلِ يَوْمٍ أَحَقُّ أَنْ تَقُومَ فِيهِ ۚ فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا ۚ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُطَّهِّرِينَ
Taqum Fīhi Abadāan Lamasjidun Ussisa `Alá At-Taqwá Min Awwali Yawmin Aĥaqqu ‘An Taqūma Fīhi Fīhi Rijālun Yuĥibbūna ‘An Yataţahharū Wa Allāhu Yuĥibbu Al-Muţţahhirīna
9:108  Do not ˹O Prophet˺ ever stand in it. A mosque founded on the righteousness from the first day is more worthy that you stand in it. In it are men who love to purify themselves, and Allah loves the ones who purify themselves.
108. Laa taqum feehi abadaa; lamasjidun ussisa ‘alat taqwaa min awwali yawmin ahaqqu ‘an taqooma feeh; feehi rijaaluny yuhibbona ‘any yata tah haroo; wallaahu yuhibbul muttah hireen
109. أَفَمَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهُ عَلَىٰ تَقْوَىٰ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرِضْوَانٍ خَيْرٌ أَمْ مَنْ أَسَّسَ بُنْيَانَهُ عَلَىٰ شَفَا جُرُفٍ هَارٍ فَانْهَارَ بِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ ۗ وَاللَّهُ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Afaman Assasa Bunyānahu `Alá Taqwá Mina Al-Lahi Wa Riđwānin Khayrun ‘Am Man Assasa Bunyānahu `Alá Shafā Jurufin Hārin Fānhāra Bihi Nāri Jahannama Wa Allāhu Yahdī Al-Qawma Až-Žālimīna
9:109  Then is the one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness from Allah and His pleasure better or the one who laid the foundation of his building on edge of a cliff about to collapse, that collapsed with him in the Fire of Hell. And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

9:109  Then is one who founded/ laid the foundation of his building on righteousness from Allah and(His) pleasure better or (one) who founded his building on edge (of) a cliff (about to) collapse, so it collapsed with him in (the) Fire (of) Hell. And Allah (does) not guide the people the wrongdoing.
109. Afaman assasa bunyaanahoo ‘alaa taqwaa minal laahi wa ridwaanin khairun am man assasa bunyaanahoo ‘alaa shafaa jurufin haarin fanhaara bihee fee Naari Jahannam; wallaahu laa yahdil qawmaz zaalimeen
110. لَا يَزَالُ بُنْيَانُهُمُ الَّذِي بَنَوْا رِيبَةً فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ إِلَّا أَنْ تَقَطَّعَ قُلُوبُهُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ حَكِيمٌ
Yazālu Bunyānuhumu Al-Ladhī Banaw Rībatan  Qulūbihim ‘Illā An Taqaţţa`a Qulūbuhum Wa Allāhu `Alīmun Ĥakīmun
9:110 Their building which they built will never cease to be a ˹source/cause˺ of doubt in their hearts except that their hearts are cut into pieces/torn apart. And Allah is All-Knower, All-Wise.
110. Laa yazaalu bunyaanu humul lazee banaw reebatan fee quloobihim illaaa an taqatta’a quloobuhum; wal laahu ‘Aleemun Hakeem (section 13)
111. إِنَّ اللَّهَ اشْتَرَىٰ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَأَمْوَالَهُمْ بِأَنَّ لَهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ ۚ يُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَيَقْتُلُونَ وَيُقْتَلُونَ ۖ وَعْدًا عَلَيْهِ حَقًّا فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ وَالْقُرْآنِ ۚ وَمَنْ أَوْفَىٰ بِعَهْدِهِ مِنَ اللَّهِ ۚ فَاسْتَبْشِرُوا بِبَيْعِكُمُ الَّذِي بَايَعْتُمْ بِهِ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
Inna Al-Laha Ashtará Mina Al-Mu’uminīnaAnfusahum Wa ‘Amwālahum Bi’anna Lahumu Al-Jannata Yuqātilūna Sabīli Al-Lahi Fayaqtulūna Wa Yuqtalūna Wa`dāan `Alayhi Ĥaqqāan  At-Tawrāati Wa Al-‘Injīli Wa Al-Qur’āni Wa ManAwfá Bi`ahdihi Mina Al-Lahi Fāstabshirū Bibay`ikumu Al-Ladhī Bāya`tum Bihi Wa Dhalika Huwa Al-Fawzu Al-`Ažīmu
9:111  Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their wealth, because for them is Paradise. They fight in the way of Allah, so they kill and they are killed. A true promise ˹binding˺ upon Him, in the Torah and the Gospel and the Quran. And who is more faithful to his promise than Allah? So rejoice/ be happy in your transaction which you have contracted/made with it/Him. And that, it is the great success.
111. Innal laahash taraa minal mu’mineena anfusahum wa amwaalahum bi anna lahumul jannah; yuqaatiloona fee sabeelil laahi fa yaqtuloona wa yuqtaloona wa’dan ‘alaihi haqqan fit Tawraati wal Injeeli wal Qur’aaan; wa man awfaa bi’ahdihee minal laah; fastabshiroo bi bay’ikumul lazee baaya’tum bih; wa zaalika huwal fawzul ‘azeem
112. التَّائِبُونَ الْعَابِدُونَ الْحَامِدُونَ السَّائِحُونَ الرَّاكِعُونَ السَّاجِدُونَ الْآمِرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّاهُونَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَالْحَافِظُونَ لِحُدُودِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
At-Tā’ibūna Al-`Ābidūna Al-Ĥāmidūna As-Sā’iĥūna Ar-Rāki`ūna As-Sājidūna Al-‘Āmirūna Bil-Ma`rūfi Wa An-Nāhūna `Ani Al-Munkari Wa Al-Ĥāfižūna Liĥudūdi Al-Lahi Wa Bashshiri Al-Mu’uminīna

9:112  Those who turn in repentance, those who worship, those who praise, those who go out/ fast, those who bow down, those who prostrate, those who enjoin/ encourage the right/good and those who forbid/ prevent on the wrong/evil, and those who observe the limits set by Allah. And give glad tidings/good news to the believers.

112. At taaa’iboonal ‘aabidoonal haamidoonas saaa’ihoonar raaki’oonas saajidoonal aamiroona bilma’roofi wannaahoona ‘anil munkari walhaafizoona lihudoodil laah; wa bashshiril mu’mineen
113. مَا كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرُوا لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ وَلَوْ كَانُوا أُولِي قُرْبَىٰ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ
Kāna Lilnnabīyi Wa Al-LadhīnaĀmanū An Yastaghfirū Lilmushrikīna Wa Law Kānū Ūlī Qurbá Min Ba`di Tabayyana Lahum Annahum Aşĥābu Al-Jaĥīmi
9:113 It is not becoming for the Prophet and those who believe that they ask forgiveness for the polytheists, even though they be from the relatives, from after what has become clear to them, that they are the companions of the Hellfire.
113. Maa kaana lin nabiyyi wallazeena aamanooo ‘any yastaghfiroo lil mushrikeena wa law kaanoo ulee qurbaa min ba’di maa tabiyana lahum annahum Ashaabul jaheem
114. وَمَا كَانَ اسْتِغْفَارُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لِأَبِيهِ إِلَّا عَنْ مَوْعِدَةٍ وَعَدَهَا إِيَّاهُ فَلَمَّا تَبَيَّنَ لَهُ أَنَّهُ عَدُوٌّ لِلَّهِ تَبَرَّأَ مِنْهُ ۚ إِنَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ لَأَوَّاهٌ حَلِيمٌ
Wa Mā Kāna Astighfāru Ibrāhīma Li’abīhi ‘Illā `An Maw`idatin Wa`adahā Īyāhu Falammā Tabayyana Lahu Annahu `Adūwun Lillahi Tabarra’a Minhu Inna Ibrāhīma La’awwāhun Ĥalīmun
9:114  And ˹as for the˺ asking of forgiveness by Abraham for his father was not except because of a promise he (i.e., Abraham) had promised to him (i.e., his father). But when it became clear to him (i.e., Abraham) that he (i.e., his father) was an enemy to Allah, he (i.e., Abraham) disassociated/ broke ties from him (i.e., his father). Indeed, Abraham was compassionate/ truly tender-hearted, forbearing.
114. Wa maa kaanas tighfaaru ibraaheema li abeehi illaa ‘an maw’idatinw wa ‘adahaaa iyyaahu falammaa tabaiyana lahooo annahoo ‘aduwwul lillaahi tabarra a minh; inna Ibraaheema la awwaahun haleem
115. وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِلَّ قَوْمًا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَاهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُبَيِّنَ لَهُمْ مَا يَتَّقُونَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
Wa Mā Kāna Al-Lahu Liyuđilla Qawmāan Ba`da ‘Idh Hadāhum Ĥattá Yubayyina Lahum  Yattaqūna Inna Al-Laha Bikulli Shay’in `Alīmun

9:115  And Allah would not let a people go astray after when He has guided them, until He makes clear to them what they should fear/ avoid. Indeed, Allah is All-Knower of every thing.

115. Wa maa kaanal laahu liyudilla qawman ba’da iz hadaahum hatta yubaiyina lahum maa yattaqoon; innal laaha bikulli shai’in ‘Aleem
116. إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۚ وَمَا لَكُمْ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ مِنْ وَلِيٍّ وَلَا نَصِيرٍ
Inna Al-Laha Lahu Mulku As-Samāwāti Wa Al-‘Arđi Yuĥyī Wa Yumītu Wa Mā Lakum Min Dūni Al-Lahi Min Wa Līyin Wa Lā Naşīrin
9:116  Indeed, Allah! to Him belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, He gives life, and He causes death. And you do not/neither have from besides Allah any protector and nor any helper.

116. Innal laaha lahoo mulkus samaawaati wal ardi yuhyee wa yumeet; wa maa lakum min doonil laahi minw waliyyinw wa laa naseer
117. لَقَدْ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ وَالْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ فِي سَاعَةِ الْعُسْرَةِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا كَادَ يَزِيغُ قُلُوبُ فَرِيقٍ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّهُ بِهِمْ رَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ
Laqad Tāba Al-Lahu `Alá An-Nabīyi Wa Al-Muhājirīna Wa Al-‘Anşāri Al-Ladhīna Attaba`ūhu Sā`ati Al-`Usrati Min Ba`di Kāda Yazīghu Qulūbu Farīqin Minhum Thumma Tāba `AlayhimInnahu Bihim Ra’ūfun Raĥīmun
9:117  Verily, Allah turned ˹in mercy˺ to the Prophet, and the emigrants, and the helpers those who followed him in the hour of difficulty from after what the hearts of a group of them almost deviated, then He turned ˹in mercy˺ to them. Indeed, He is Most Kind, Most Merciful to them.
117. Laqat taabal laahu ‘alan nabiyyi wal Muhaajireena wal Ansaaril lazeenat taba’oohu fee saa’atil ‘usrati min ba’di maa kaada yazeeghu quloobu fariqin minhum thumma taaba ‘alaihim; innahoo bihim Ra’oofur Raheem
118. وَعَلَى الثَّلَاثَةِ الَّذِينَ خُلِّفُوا حَتَّىٰ إِذَا ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الْأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْفُسُهُمْ وَظَنُّوا أَنْ لَا مَلْجَأَ مِنَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ لِيَتُوبُوا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ
Wa `Alá Ath-Thalāthati Al-Ladhīna Khullifū Ĥattá Idhā Đāqat `Alayhimu Al-‘Arđu Bimā Raĥubat Wa Đāqat `Alayhim Anfusuhum Wa Žannū ‘An  Malja’a Mina Al-Lahi ‘Illā Ilayhi Thumma Tāba `Alayhim Liyatūbū Inna Al-Laha Huwa At-Tawwābu Ar-Raĥīmu
9:118  And ˹Allah has also turned in mercy to˺ on the three of those who were left behind, until when the earth seemed to closed in for them, though it was vast. And their own souls seemed to closed in for them and they were certain that there is no refuge from Allah except to Him. Then He turned to them ˹in mercy˺ so that they may repent/ turn to Him. Indeed, Allah, He is the Acceptor of repentance, the Most Merciful.
118. Wa ‘alas salaasatil lazeena khullifoo hattaaa izaa daaqat ‘alaihimul ardu bimaa rahubat wa daaqat ‘alaihim anfusuhum wa zannnooo al laa malja-a minal laahi illaaa ilaihi summa taaba ‘alaihim liyatooboo; innal laaha Huwat Tawwaabur Raheem (section 14)
119. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَكُونُوا مَعَ الصَّادِقِينَ
Yā ‘Ayyuhā Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Attaqū Al-Laha Wa Kūnū Ma`a Aş-Şādiqīna
9:119  O you who believe! Fear Allah and be with those who are truthful.

120. مَا كَانَ لِأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُمْ مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ أَنْ يَتَخَلَّفُوا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَلَا يَرْغَبُوا بِأَنْفُسِهِمْ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ لَا يُصِيبُهُمْ ظَمَأٌ وَلَا نَصَبٌ وَلَا مَخْمَصَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَا يَطَئُونَ مَوْطِئًا يَغِيظُ الْكُفَّارَ وَلَا يَنَالُونَ مِنْ عَدُوٍّ نَيْلًا إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُمْ بِهِ عَمَلٌ صَالِحٌ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
Kāna Li’hli Al-Madīnati Wa Man Ĥawlahum Mina Al-‘A`rābi An Yatakhallafū `An Rasūli Al-Lahi Wa Lā Yarghabū Bi’anfusihim `An Nafsihi Dhālika Bi’annahum Yuşībuhum Žama’un Wa Lā Naşabun Wa Lā Makhmaşatun  Sabīli Al-Lahi Wa Lā Yaţa’ūna Mawţi’āan Yaghīžu Al-Kuffāra Wa Lā Yanālūna Min `Adūwin Naylāan Illā Kutiba Lahum Bihi `Amalun Şāliĥun Inna Al-Laha Yuđī`u ‘Ajra Al-Muĥsinīna
9:120  It was not ˹proper˺ for the people of the Madinah and who were around them among the desert Arabs, that they remain behind from the Messenger of Allah, and nor they prefer their own lives to/above his life. That is because they neither suffer thirst and nor fatigue and nor hunger in ˹serving˺ the way of Allah, and nor do they step on any territory that angers the disbelievers and nor they inflict an infliction/ a/any loss on an enemy but it is recorded/written for them as a righteous deed. Indeed, Allah does not allow the reward of the good-doers to be lost.

Indeed, Allah does not waste the reward of the good-doers.

Maa kaana li ahlil Madeenati wa man hawlahum minal A’raabi ai yatakhallafoo ‘ar-Rasoolil laahi wa laa yarghaboo bi anfusihim ‘an nafsih; zaalika bi annahum laa yuseebuhum zama unw wa laa nasabunw wa laa makhmasatun fee sabeelil laahi wa laa yata’oona mawti’ai yagheezul kuffaara wa laa yanaaloona min ‘aduwwin nailan illaa kutiba lahum bihee ‘amalun saalih; innal laaha laa yudee’u ajral muhsineen
121. وَلَا يُنْفِقُونَ نَفَقَةً صَغِيرَةً وَلَا كَبِيرَةً وَلَا يَقْطَعُونَ وَادِيًا إِلَّا كُتِبَ لَهُمْ لِيَجْزِيَهُمُ اللَّهُ أَحْسَنَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
Wa Lā Yunfiqūna Nafaqatan Şaghīratan Wa Lā Kabīratan Wa Lā Yaqţa`ūna Wa Adīāan ‘Illā Kutiba Lahum Liyajziyahumu Al-Lahu Aĥsana Kānū Ya`malūna
9:121  And they do not spend any spending/donation/contributions small and nor big, and they do not cross a valley ˹in the Allah of cause˺ but it is recorded for them, so that Allah may reward them the best of what they used to do.
121. Wa laa yunfiqoona nafa qatan sagheeratanw wa laa kabeeratanw wa laa yaqta’oona waadiyan illaa kutiba lahum liyajziyahumul laahu ahsana maa kaanoo ya’maloon
122. وَمَا كَانَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لِيَنْفِرُوا كَافَّةً ۚ فَلَوْلَا نَفَرَ مِنْ كُلِّ فِرْقَةٍ مِنْهُمْ طَائِفَةٌ لِيَتَفَقَّهُوا فِي الدِّينِ وَلِيُنْذِرُوا قَوْمَهُمْ إِذَا رَجَعُوا إِلَيْهِمْ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَحْذَرُونَ
Wa Mā Kāna Al-Mu’uminūna Liyanfirū Kāffatan Falawlā Nafara Min Kulli Firqatin Minhum Ţā’ifatun Liyatafaqqahū  Ad-Dīni Wa Liyundhirū Qawmahum Idhā Raja`ū Ilayhim La`allahum Yaĥdharūna
9:122  And it is not ˹proper˺ for the believers that they march forth all together. Then why not a group from every group among them go forth so that they may obtain understanding in the religion, and that they may warn their people when they return to them, so that they may beware/ might be warned/ might be cautious ˹of evil˺.

122. Wa maa kaanal mu’minoona liyanfiroo kaaaffah; falaw laa nafara min kulli firqatim minhum taaa’ifatul liyatafaqqahoo fiddeeni wa liyunziroo qawmahum izaa raja’ooo ilaihim la’allahum yahzaroon (section 15)
123. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قَاتِلُوا الَّذِينَ يَلُونَكُمْ مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ وَلْيَجِدُوا فِيكُمْ غِلْظَةً ۚ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الْمُتَّقِينَ
Yā ‘Ayyuhā Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Qātilū Al-Ladhīna Yalūnakum Mina Al-Kuffāri Wa Līajidū Fīkum Ghilžatan Wa A`lamū ‘Anna Al-Laha Ma`a Al-Muttaqīna
9:123  O you who believe! Fight those who are near to you of the disbelievers, and let them find harshness/firmness in you. And know that Allah is with those who fear/ those mindful ˹of Him˺.
123. Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanoo qaatilul lazeena yaloonakum minal kuffaari walyajidoo feekum ghilzah; wa’lamooo annal laaha ma’al muttaqeen
124. وَإِذَا مَا أُنْزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ يَقُولُ أَيُّكُمْ زَادَتْهُ هَٰذِهِ إِيمَانًا ۚ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فَزَادَتْهُمْ إِيمَانًا وَهُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
Wa ‘Idhā Mā Unzilat Sūratun Faminhum Man Yaqūlu Ayyukum Zādat/hu Hadhihi Īmānāan Fa’ammā Al-LadhīnaĀmanū Fazādat/humĪmānāan Wa Hum Yastabshirūna
9:124  And whenever that a Surah is revealed, among them are some who say ˹mockingly˺, “Which of you has this increased in faith?” As for those who believe, then it has increased them in faith and they rejoice/ are overjoyed.
124. Wa izaa maaa unzilat Sooratun faminhum mai yaqoolu aiyukum zaadat hu haazihee eemaanaa; fa ammal lazeena aamanoo fazaadat hum eemaananw wa hum yastabshiroon
125. وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ فَزَادَتْهُمْ رِجْسًا إِلَىٰ رِجْسِهِمْ وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ كَافِرُونَ
Wa ‘Ammā Al-Ladhīna Qulūbihim Marađun Fazādat/hum Rijsāan Ilá Rijsihim Wa Mātū Wa Hum Kāfirūna

9:125  But as for those, with a disease in their hearts, it has increased them ˹only˺ in evil/impurity/filth ˹in addition˺ to their evil/impurity/filth. And they die while they are disbelievers.

125. Wa ammal lazeena fee quloobihim maradun fazaadat hum rijsan ilaa rijsihim wa maatoo wa hum kaafiroon
126. أَوَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَنَّهُمْ يُفْتَنُونَ فِي كُلِّ عَامٍ مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ لَا يَتُوبُونَ وَلَا هُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
‘Awalā Yarawna Annahum Yuftanūna Kulli `Āmin Marratan Aw Marratayni Thumma Yatūbūna Wa Lā Hum Yadhdhakkarūna
9:126  Do they not see that they are tried in every year, once or twice? Yet they do not repent, and nor do they pay attention.

127. وَإِذَا مَا أُنْزِلَتْ سُورَةٌ نَظَرَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ هَلْ يَرَاكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُوا ۚ صَرَفَ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَوْمٌ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ
Wa ‘Idhā  ‘Unzilat Sūratun Nažara Ba`đuhum ‘Ilá Ba`đin Hal Yarākum Min Aĥadin Thumma Anşarafū Şarafa Al-Lahu Qulūbahum Bi’annahum Qawmun  Yafqahūna
9:127  And whenever that a Surah is revealed, some of them look to others, ˹saying,˺ “Is any one watching you?” Then they turn/slip away (i.e., leave). ˹It is˺ Allah ˹Who˺ has turned away their hearts because they are a people they do not understand.
127. Wa izaa maaa unzilat Sooratun nazara ba’duhum ilaa ba’din hal yaraakum min ahadin thumman sarafoo; sarafal laahu quloobahum bi annahum qawmul laa yafqahoon
128. لَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مِنْ أَنْفُسِكُمْ عَزِيزٌ عَلَيْهِ مَا عَنِتُّمْ حَرِيصٌ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ
Laqad Jā’akum Rasūlun Min Anfusikum `Azīzun `Alayhi `Anittum Ĥarīşun `Alaykum Bil-Mu’uminīna Ra’ūfun Raĥīmun

9:128 There certainly has come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. What you suffer is Grievous/mighty/ weighs heavily upon him, he is concerned over/for you, and kind and merciful to the believers.

9:128  Certainly, (has) come to you a Messenger from yourselves. Grievous to him (is) what you suffer, (he is) concerned over/for you, to the believers (he is) kind (and) merciful.
128. Laqad jaaa’akum Rasoolum min anfusikum ‘azeezun ‘alaihi maa ‘anittum hareesun ‘alaikum bilmu’mineena ra’oofur raheem
129. فَإِنْ تَوَلَّوْا فَقُلْ حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ ۖ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
Fa’in Tawallaw Faqul Ĥasbī Al-Lahu  ‘Ilāha Illā Huwa `Alayhi Tawakkaltu Wa Huwa Rabbu Al-`Arshi Al-`Ažīmi
9:129  But if they turn away, then say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Allah is sufficient for me. There is no god except Him. On Him I put my trust. And He is the Lord of the Great/Mighty Throne.”
129. Fa in tawallaw faqul hasbiyal laahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa ‘alaihi tawakkkaltu wa Huwa Rabbul ‘Arshil ‘Azeem (section 16)
